The Truth 5 months ago I think this is a wonderful rehab, the facilities are beautiful, the food is amazing (I have never even had food this good at a restaurant), and above all they have really helped my husband. Obviously anyone that first goes to rehab isn’t happy with their situation but in just two short months he was a changed person. The work they have them do on themselves got him to finally see why drugs and alcohol are no way of life. He’s finally sober and actually enjoying it! This rehab helped him so much he actually chose to stay LONGER, and I am for once excited for what the future can bring. My body was failing and mental state was terrible. Every part of the program touches on every aspect of the addicts life. Now that I have finished the program and started living daily life with all of the gains I got throughout the program, failure isn’t an option. I know I can truly be happy sober now. I’m now 14 years sober and I truly have NLR To thank for that. They would go out of their way for me in ways that I’ve never seen a recovery center go out of their waiver addicts, and it made me believe in recovery again. Although this was not my last stop on the recovery train, it was my favorite stop, and I truly cherish everybody who was there. It’s a calm, supportive place where you can actually focus on getting better and figuring things out. What makes this place different is the staff. Every person I met has been through addiction themselves, so they truly get it. You’re not talking to people reading from a book. You’re talking to people who have lived it and come out the other side. That shows in the way they listen, the way they talk to you, and the patience and compassion they bring every day. I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. I was very grateful to be able to get a bed quickly (the very next day). This is not a resort or a vacation, it's a rehab. You won't find a spa or masseuse here, but you will find a safe and supportive environment to work on yourself. The staff was helpful and kind, but of course they are humans too. The main counselor was very helpful and intuitive - she was able to pinpoint what some of my personal issues to focus on were. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone who is serious about working on themselves. Other facilities might have more amenities, more people, etc. but I found that having less external distractions helped me get a lot more out of my time here. I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. Once medically stable in the hospital, he was discharged to Mission Oaks for therapy with the goal to get his independence back in his home. There are 15 beds in the unit. Consider yourself very fortunate if you or your loved one gets admitted. This facility is top notch. The staff here are professional, caring, hardworking, and exceptional at what they do. The vast majority have been here for many, many years. It's not a revolving door. They are proud of what they have created. It's the culture here. Relearning to walk (PT), grab a cup (OT), or swallow for that matter (Speech Therapy), doesn't just happen. It requires hard work by both the patient and the staff. Nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital call this place "Boot Camp". From what I have learned, rehab is most effective when started soon after a stroke. Because of this, the therapists push to get the most out of the patients when they are here. I wish I could name everyone who has helped us. It would be the entire staff. I started noting individual names, but after I hit the 20 mark, I figured I would miss someone who definitely deserved credit. Expect several hours of various types of therapy per day. Filling in the gaps are a dedicated team of nurses that make sure your loved one vitals are tracked and correct medicine administered. The nurses all are friendly and care about you or your loved one. My father at 78 years of age came here unable to walk on his own or use his left hand. Two weeks later, he's walking and using his hand. He now has the ability and confidence to get back to living a life of independence. He will have some care initially, but the goal is to minimize the amount of care he gets over time. They have a care coordinator and social worker here on the floor that will actively work out a plan for you and/or loved one. I have heard horror stories about other facilities in the area. When I started at Embodied, I thought I was there for one specific reason, and that once I'd faced it head-on with the right tools, I'd be "good." What I found instead was broader: a shift in perspective that reshaped how I think, communicate, and relate to myself and others with more compassion than I'd previously considered possible. I 6 months ago It's been over 20ys since I participated in this program through the nudge of a judge. My last name was different. My life had spiraled into turmoil and utter caios. I hit rock bottom so hard I was spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically broken. Honestly I wished I would die than live another day. At first I didn't want to be there. I did participate in the program several times. I still remember my house managers name, Sharron. I definitely didn't leave as a night in shinning armor. The reality is I dabbled once or twice a yr. More importantly whenever I did I felt guilty, dirty, remorseful, and imberrased. Life hasn't been a beautiful boutique of roses but I am definitely proud of who I am, the challenges I've over come, and the abilities that were given to me through Support Systems Homes. Thank you for caring. Thank you for not judging. Thank you for teaching me structure in such a subtle way. I am alive, happy, and a functional part of society because of this program.
