I didn’t them a five because they don’t offer virtual therapy options. Other than that, they offer great care and really helped me in my recovery. New Life Recovery changed my life. This is an amazing place. It absolutely changed my life. I came in broken and left feeling like I was able to get my life back. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and very considerate to the needs of each client. Their residential program provides you with a structured schedule that is suitable for learning and not overbearing so that you can really work on recovery. Their outpatient programs allow you to soldify your foundation in recovery while you adapt to a sober lifestyle. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody that needs help.

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. I wish I can give her 20 ⭐️’s but was only given an option of 5 ⭐️.

This was one of the most significant moments of my life, and the kindness, professionalism, and compassion shown by your team made all the difference in my recovery.
I especially want to recognize Megan, Olga, Therese, Dominique, and Journey for their exceptional care. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, safe, and emotionally supported through every step of this major procedure. Their gentle reassurance, attention to detail, and genuine compassion helped transform what could have been a very difficult experience into one filled with hope and calm.
Thanks to their dedication, I am now healing well, walking again, and looking forward to the months of recovery ahead. I truly felt cared for not only as a patient, but as a person.

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...!
What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!!
I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" Would recommend to anyone who has the desire to change their life. Tools that will last me a lifetime and helped me learn to take accountability. Perfection isn’t possible when dealing with a lot of people who are sick, but they do a darn good job. I felt important. I felt that they always had my best interest at heart. I was truly amazed by this place!!! The extent my case manager went through to find me after care humbled me. He tried for hours and would not give up. And I do mean hours. The staff was really caring and it transcended to the clients. It felt like a family here. I laughed so much here but also learned so much. The counselors really got out of their way here. Their sense of humor was so appreciated specially when you come in feeling so down. They included everyone and were really informative. They even invited me to be involved in their spirituality groups that opened my eyes to a different world I knew nothing about. I felt a part of. It's not my first time I've been in rehab and I would highly recommend this place.

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table.
For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important.
There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening
Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time.
Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules.
Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed.
Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you.
If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor.
Every package you get will be inspected.
For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches.
You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed.
Hide your stash. People steal
Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies
Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it.
You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you.
Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus
You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it

Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind.
Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

St Mary's Center gives me the feel of home away from home. It's somewhere for seniors to come and get a nutritional meal and receive help in housing. I was locked out due to an unlawful eviction in 2022 & lived in my car for a month while attending St Mary's center. I was a breast cancer survivor until 2023 when I was diagnosed cancer-free & in Feb of that year I was housed in a transitional room through St Mary's. They gave me a safe community where I was able to restart my life, take care of my mental & physical health issues, & in Jan 2024 they helped me get permanent stable housing at Depot Community Apts in Hayward. If anybody needs a safe place to get help, I urge you to come & connect with this senior center. They are a lifesaving God-given resource to help fix your life issues & THRIVE! This is my third rehab experience and I stayed 6 weeks. I was very grateful to be able to get a bed quickly (the very next day). This is not a resort or a vacation, it's a rehab. You won't find a spa or masseuse here, but you will find a safe and supportive environment to work on yourself. The staff was helpful and kind, but of course they are humans too. The main counselor was very helpful and intuitive - she was able to pinpoint what some of my personal issues to focus on were. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone who is serious about working on themselves. Other facilities might have more amenities, more people, etc. but I found that having less external distractions helped me get a lot more out of my time here.
Update 3 years later: still doing well, and still using the knowledge I gained here.

Easy traffic and parking if go there early on Fridays. Staff is very nice. Grounds are beautiful with a lot of frequent wildlife strolling by, esp early or late. One thing I would request- return of the deli. There is no place close by to get food when there are several appointments to do.

My disabled but independent son has been at Riviera living for over a year now. Riviera has a medication room; Pedro is very good at making sure my son takes his medication twice a day. They re-order his medication when needed and have it mailed to the facility. They have a cafeteria that cooks really hearty homestyle meals three times a day and snacks in between.
The housekeeper Susan is very aware of everyone that comes and goes. She cleans each room once a week and is like a Mom to the residents. One attendant- Elizabeth saved my son's life when she noticed he was acting strangely and followed him to his room where he had collapsed and was not breathing well. She called an ambulance.
Overall, I think that the staff are very vigilant but overworked. I think that they should hire more attendants so there is always at least 2 at a time in each house, even at night. I think it would be better if they opened a cafeteria in each home so that the residents don't have to cross the street to get to the cafeteria. Also- it would be good if they could organize hair cut visits and pedicure visits because my son will not go on his own and cannot cut his toenails by himself. The laundry is down the street so it is inconvenient for the residents to do their own laundry.

I rated Villa 5 stars because this was the only place I was able to be comfortable. They had a daily schedule of different things to do. During your stay you can have visitors and after the 72 hr hold give you passes to leave the campus for an hour or so. The staff was great and the patients were also welcoming. I gotta give these guys 5 stars mainly because the only other review is an (in my opinion) unfair one star rating. I was in Villa Fairmont several years ago and while it may have had some problems (more like a 3.5 or 4 star) it was a place that helped me stabilize in a safe location until I was accepted in a Dual Diagnosis Recovery Home (Bonita House). I currently work in the recovery field and live an independent life. To me that is worth all of the struggles that I have had with any of the programs I have been in. Gotta go through hell before you get to heaven. That's just the way it is when you have a diagnosis that isn't socially acceptable... The system may not be perfect and there is certainly lots of broken components, but we need some kind of system and it does work for some. I know because I'm one.

My loved one is currently at MPI. In the time she's been there, she's been to serveral 12 step meetings, has received one on one counseling and tons of education regarding this disease. Additionally, there is a family plan so that we can be the best support for her when she goes home. MPI is an excellent place. She will be there for at least another week or two and is very happy she went and we have very high expectations for her as a result of the treatment.

First time in treatment, I did not apply myself to the MPI treatment program.. hence, I started drinking again after losing my wife to cancer... Second time in treatment, I attended their great grief classes and stuck with the program... I HAVE BEEN CLEAN FOR 578 days...
