I did not have to wait for long in the waiting before my name was called. both Dr. J. Jaghab and his assistant Jennifer were wonderful. Jennifer was cheerful and kind. Her instructions were very clear and professional. Dr. Jaghab listened very well and asked pertinent questions about my diagnosis. He also explained the varies option of treatment available for me. Dr. Jaghab and Jennifer tried very hard to get me an appointment with Nuclear medicine to have the necessary scan before my planned foreign trip in two weeks. Once the appointment with Nuclear medicine was confirm, Dr. Jaghab and Jennifer immediately scheduled my follow up phone appointment after the expected scan result so we can discuss which treatment options will be the best for me. Dr. Jaghab and Jennifer were a very good team and they were "on the ball". My sincere thank you for both.

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. I went to New life recovery center when I was 19 and 20 and had a really really bad habit. I’m now 14 years sober and I truly have NLR To thank for that. They would go out of their way for me in ways that I’ve never seen a recovery center go out of their waiver addicts, and it made me believe in recovery again. Although this was not my last stop on the recovery train, it was my favorite stop, and I truly cherish everybody who was there. All I have to say is I could not have gotten clean with NLR! This place is amazing all the staff are excellent make you feel good about being there. Walking in to the gates I had so many emotions but seeing everyone smile and say hello gave me some ease. If you are looking to sleep all day and think you’re on vacation this definitely ain’t the place for you. You’re busy all day. The classes you take a lot from them Mitch and Rob man they really pump knowledge that will have like shit was it really that bad that I needed to be out there doing x y z. The chief Shilpa ABSOLUTELY AMAZING L!!! Meals amazing 5 star and she is just the sweetest. Lupe chief Shiloh’s assistant absolutely amazing!!! All the clinical techs all so cool very friendly they too started their journey with new life so they know exactly what you’re going through cause they come from the same life styles. I recommend new life too everyone in the addiction. Today I have 90 days clean by the grace of god and new life.

I had a really positive experience at New Life Recovery Center. From day one, everyone made me feel welcome and not judged. It’s a calm, supportive place where you can actually focus on getting better and figuring things out. What makes this place different is the staff. Every person I met has been through addiction themselves, so they truly get it. You’re not talking to people reading from a book. You’re talking to people who have lived it and come out the other side. That shows in the way they listen, the way they talk to you, and the patience and compassion they bring every day. The groups were helpful and real. People share honestly and support each other. The counselors and techs are down to earth and always willing to talk if you’re having a rough day. You can tell they care and want you to succeed. If you’re looking for a place where people understand recovery on a personal level and treat you with respect and kindness, I’d recommend New Life Recovery Center. It’s a solid, supportive community for anyone trying to get their life back on track.

The Summit Estate Recovery Center is outstanding in every respect. The staff is top notch, highly qualified, professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with. Client needs, both medical and otherwise, are addressed promptly and appropriately. The facility and grounds are beautiful and comfortable. Both are maintained in excellent condition. All meals are prepared by professional chefs skilled in preparing healthy food that supports the special needs of the human body in recovery. The treatment is holistic and includes nutrition, education, group and private therapy, as well as yoga, meditation, and fitness training. After a 28 day stay in the Summit residential treatment facility, I feel confidant and motivated in my continued abstinence and sobriety. The word from my peers in treatment who have experience with other facilities is that Summit is two cuts above the nearest competition. I am very grateful for my stay at summit and the loving care I received there.

Summit Estates has been a lifesaver for my family. I would describe the staff, counseling services, patient commitment and facility with every superlative term in the dictionary. Our family member received inpatient treatment, PHP and IOP through Summit over the course of a year, and we owe Summit a huge debt of gratitude. The staff members are outstanding: Roshin, Judy, Jon, Annee, to name a few. Addiction is a terrible, lonely disease, and the bright spot has been availing ourselves of the support, tools and community offered by Summit. I would highly recommend Summit and wish that anyone suffering from addiction could be treated by the exceptional professionals at Summit.

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table. For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important. There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time. Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules. Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed. Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you. If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor. Every package you get will be inspected. For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches. You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed. Hide your stash. People steal Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it. You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you. Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind. Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

The care and staff at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center - ER are phenomenal. The ER team is incredible and all very attentive. Many people came to check in on me and were receptive to all my questions and requests for help. Dr. Sangoi and the huge team of RNs/nurse assistants (including but not limited to Joy, Nick, Sophia, Raquel, and many more that I cannot recall the names of) were extremely helpful and kind. I also appreciate how generous they were with their time. The facilities were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the food was surprisingly quite tasty. Overall, a great ER!

MPI is an excellent place for anyone seeking a safe, medically assisted detox from drugs or alcohol. The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the doctors were knowledgeable and supportive, and the facility was clean and well maintained. There is a structured daily schedule, but if you’re not feeling well, you’re encouraged to rest and focus on your recovery. The facility also has a phone and laptop policy, but if you have a legitimate need to use your devices, the staff is willing to work with you to find a reasonable solution. Visitation is held on Sundays, but loved ones can bring approved items for patients any day of the week, which is a thoughtful way to stay connected and supported during treatment. Overall, I had a very positive experience at MPI and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive environment to begin their recovery journey.

I was there a little more than 4 years ago. I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control. The food was really good and I loved the weekend special dinners the clients would order.

This place completely changed my life. They run a top notch program and the highly attentive staff see to all your needs with no problems. Doctor Kayman is extremely knowledgeable about the brain and the counseling staff is amazing as well, always offering a listening ear and great advice to help any problems that may arise while in treatment. I would like to personally thank counselors Burt, Sharon and Angus for helping me so much while I was there and needed support. Thank you MPI for everything you do!

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!! I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" (for the teen unit) This place generally was one of the most helpful places ever all the staff was so incredibly sweet, the OTs especially shout out to Hana (one of the OTS) because she was so amazing, the groups were very well done and it was so incredibly supportive there, there where also a lot of fun activites like painting nails, writting afirmation cards, bracelet making, movie nights, playing bordgames, all the other teenagers that where there well I was there where abosulte sweet hearts and I ended up staying in touch with them one I got discharged- the nurses where all pretty good but shoutout to my nurse Elena she was so helpful and really was able to support me through any needs, this place save my life and got me out of the deep end and am so incredibly thankful for all of it<3 thank you Alta bates phscy ward

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.

My dad underwent a transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) at the Palo Alto VA, and we could not be more grateful for the care we received. We came from out of town because he could not receive the care through our local VA, so we had to travel to this hospital for the care he needed, and we couldn’t be more happy with the care he received - across the board. From the moment we checked in at the Fisher House, we were met with kindness, warmth and incredible support. The staff made us feel welcome and gave me a comfortable place to stay during what was a stressful and emotional time. Having the Fisher House available to us made such a difference and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who makes that possible. Our experience at the Palo Alto VA was equally exceptional. From the attention in the weeks prior leading up to his procedure Donna on the Cardiology team kept us up to date and informed about everything. She is such a gift to the patients and their families. Then from check-in, to pre-op through the procedure and all the way to discharge, every person we encountered was professional, compassionate, patient and genuinely caring. We felt informed and supported throughout the entire process, and it meant so much to know that my dad was in such good hands. The Cardiology team there is top-notch and everyone made us feel comfortable every step of the way. A special thank-you to his nurses, Tricia, Emily and Ryan in the intermediate ICU unit. They were absolutely awesome! They were kind, attentive, reassuring and took such great care of my dad. Their compassion and the way they interacted with both him and myself meant more than they probably realize. My dad also had wonderful things to say about his anesthesiologist. Unfortunately, I am terrible with names and don't remember his name, but my dad specifically mentioned how much he liked him and how comfortable he made him feel. It is easy to focus on the medical procedure itself, but what made this experience so meaningful was the humanity behind the care. The doctors, nurses, staff and Fisher House team all made an incredibly difficult situation feel a little less frightening. We are deeply thankful to everyone who cared for my dad and supported our family. Your kindness made a lasting impression on us. Thank you for everything you do for veterans and their families. We will never forget the care and kindness we experienced at the Palo Alto VA and Fisher House. The Cardiology team there went above and beyond and we just are so very grateful. Thank you Palo Alto VA!

Actually the food was amazing. The art and classes. The finance classes and the what else. Thought I wouldnt remember. I remember. There would always be extra food. and they would ask us, anyone want this, they had coffee if I remember. We had to line up at the right by the windows on my floor and then door would be unlocked we'd go in and who was the old guy the wheelchair. He was awrsome. Was it Dave ? Anyway,and milk the desk always had milk stashed back there. The tv was great I think we watched football and stuff. Yeah,and the evening snacks! They had a garden with planted something. I was eating them everytime we got to go out. Very clean always very very clean. The doctors were great. 2023 Thankyou...for a grateful veteran & now an internet influencer!

I can't ask for more, except perhaps some withholding of judgement... But of course,...it could be me, the silence when I enter the place and say "hi" and get no reply ... Otherwise, the place is doing it's job... Although I wonder what the official job title and description is (Of Veteran Case Managers or anyone assigned a potential influence over my fate) ...and what freedoms they are given to recommend a vet to, say, a place they know the vet won't fit in... ...we all know when someone bears you Ill will, and when it's those assigned to your care, however minor, it Instills distrust in our institutions.

I was a patient here in the past. I got off 6 years ago. I found a drug called fentanyl. I became addicted and decided to return here to the Baart program. Tomorrow being Presidents day I found myself in fear. I wasn't sure if staff would be available for the intake process. I called the clinic number to be introduced to Thomas. 🦉He was so calming he immediately assed my needs. Updated my file set an appointment for me. I felt a lot better than before I spoke to Him. The fact that Thomas was there to answer my phone call means everything to me. I'm able to take the necessary steps to move forward. Had I called and a recording came on it would have been a whole different attitude with me during this time. As I started my journey into recovery again, I was sent by a third party to el chante in Oakland ca. From the very beginning I stepped foot I admired the house due to its remodeled interior and I figured since I’ve been to other recovery homes I haven’t seen a place as nice as this. I can go on for hours if I wanted too on this topic alone. But I’ll keep it short n sweet, try it out and see for yourself, stick to developing a habit and consider your recovery.

This is my third rehab experience and I stayed 6 weeks. I was very grateful to be able to get a bed quickly (the very next day). This is not a resort or a vacation, it's a rehab. You won't find a spa or masseuse here, but you will find a safe and supportive environment to work on yourself. The staff was helpful and kind, but of course they are humans too. The main counselor was very helpful and intuitive - she was able to pinpoint what some of my personal issues to focus on were. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone who is serious about working on themselves. Other facilities might have more amenities, more people, etc. but I found that having less external distractions helped me get a lot more out of my time here. Update 3 years later: still doing well, and still using the knowledge I gained here.

Support Systems Homes is an awesome facility to detox and or get treatment from drug or alcohol. The facility is clean and the staff is knowledgeable in their respected fields. Today 4/6/23 I am clean and sober and get to restart my life fresh.
