Hi I went through the Singing Trees Recovery program in 2001. The experience was so spiritual. I am an addict and they helped me get clean, stay clean, and so much more! I got to meet myself for the first time in a Long time not to mention some good people whom I call my Friends and my 2nd Family I would recommend this facility to anyone that needs help!The staff are excellent and have all been in my shoes at one time their life so they counsel with real experience on your level not just out of a text book. I was riding my motorcycle up the HWY 101 early one beautiful morning hoping to find a restaurant to eat breakfast. I wasn't seeing any. I passed Singing Trees because it didn't look like it was a restaurant. However, as I went by, I smelled eggs and bacon so I decided to turn around. I pulled in and asked if Singing Trees was a restaurant? I was told it was a bed and breakfast. I had a hunch it wasn't a restaurant due to the lack of signage, so it was no big surprise. I started to get back on my bike and a maintenance person who worked there (I've forgotten his name but he's a great guy and motorcycle nut like me) stopped me and said there was enough food for me if I wanted to come in. I was starved and so thankful. What kind and generous place. They wouldn't even let me pay for my delicious breakfast.

Empire was my first step to my journey once released. I made amazing friends there and met wonderful people. The staff was great and guided me through my journey. I lost some friends I met from there since then and it broke my heart. I have since continued my sobriety. Got full custody of my children, have a full time job and discharged my number. I am currently enrolling in College for Addiction studies. I move back to socal and have been striving to continue my journey on the right path. My experience there was great and positive. This is actually the best Clinic I've ever been to Thomas has been the best counselor I've had I was at ages before as well but due to getting ran over by a car I was put back on opiate medications and well any addict knows what happens after that when I returned to ages I went through a plethora of counselors but Thomas was solid and stuck around when I came to him I had 14 take homes and lost them because I fell off. Thank God I had Thomas as a counselor he held me accountable for my actions was patient and gentle and see me through my relapse now I have six take homes and I'm doing way better I really believe that if Thomas wasn't my counselor during my relapse I wouldn't be clean right now because of the way he handled the situation allow me to trust him take his advice and now I've been clean for almost 4 months now thank you Thomas and thank you Aegis for employing Thomas.

I have been in and out of recovery pretty much my whole life since I was a teenager. I had heard repeatedly that there's no "magic pill" to help with your addiction problems. Well, I must say that methadone sure worked "magic" for me. It brought my cravings down to nothing, might I add, I was always on the lookout for something. Methadone gave me the feeling of what I would best describe as "content." Aegis gave me the added help I needed to then focus on myself and my well-being. I have since been able to find and maintain staple employment and let me focus on what my family and I needed instead of just what my brain wanted. So thank you to Aegis of Chico, I hate to even imagine what my life would look like had I never found them.

I have been to 8 treatment centers from Sacramento to Michigan and I can honestly say that skyway house has been the best treatment that I have received BY FAR. The counselors Andy, Veronica, and Madeline actually really care and aren't there for the paycheck. They take an active role in every clients recovery weather they are your counselor or not. The support staff is top notch as well. I came in with virtually nothing. Taylor and Amy and Ajanna literally helped save my life. From listening to my problems to playing cards with me and loaning me books to read. I will forever be grateful for this wonderful place.

The Medical Care provided by the VA Health Care Department is superb. It is the best benefit an honorably discharged or disabled veteran gets for their time in the military. So much better then medicare or medicaid. They will provide the best medical care it's possible to get any where and if they can't, they will find out who can and send you there. I'm glad I'm a vet who's got full VA Medical coverage and wish every one in the USA had access to this kind of medical care.

DUI and DUI related incidents are truly world shaking and embarrassing. It can be shameful, it can be something you don t want to think you are capable of. These women that run this program welcome you with open arms and reassure you that your situation does not define you and needing help with alcohol/drug use is not in fact shameful, it s a decision you make to better yourself that you should be proud of! Tinamarie, Tanisha, and Katie will be your biggest cheerleaders. At first this program was mandatory, and now with their support, I m aware I m fully capable of being a better person and being better for it sober! Thank you ladies thank you for doing what you do, I don t know where this community would be without you

Having to enroll in a DUI program is not going to be the highlight of anyone s year. That being said, my experience with the program couldn t have been any better. They are kind, understanding, attentive, responsive and seem genuinely passionate about helping people make the most out of the classes and program.I moved out to GA and was having a really hard time with internet connection for zoom classes and the time zone difference. Tina Marie worked with me by sending literature via snail mail and doing private discussion phone calls with me to help make sure I got through the material.I honestly learned a lot about myself, about the law as it applies to driving while intoxicated and about the nature of addiction itself. Some of the tools I learned in the program have been super helpful in maintaining my on-going recovery.The team goes above and beyond when it would likely be easier to just push people through the program and do the bare minimum.Thank you for not being another headache/obstacle in an already difficult situation.Gratitude from the east coast!
