I was riding my motorcycle up the HWY 101 early one beautiful morning hoping to find a restaurant to eat breakfast. I wasn't seeing any. I passed Singing Trees because it didn't look like it was a restaurant. However, as I went by, I smelled eggs and bacon so I decided to turn around. I pulled in and asked if Singing Trees was a restaurant? I was told it was a bed and breakfast. I had a hunch it wasn't a restaurant due to the lack of signage, so it was no big surprise. I started to get back on my bike and a maintenance person who worked there (I've forgotten his name but he's a great guy and motorcycle nut like me) stopped me and said there was enough food for me if I wanted to come in. I was starved and so thankful. What kind and generous place. They wouldn't even let me pay for my delicious breakfast.

They made me feel like part of a big family, not scrutinized over every little thing like at other places, such as HRC. The only drawbacks were the sleeping arrangements and the mattresses, but that's easily fixed with a personal mattress pad for extra comfort. The men and women are housed separately in large dormitories with partitions, so you still have a sense of personal space. This setup helped me bond with the other women, making us feel closer. Maybe I was lucky to have been with serious, committed individuals, but I know the staff would have addressed any issues if they had arisen amongst the roomates. Aside from the sleeping conditions, I absolutely loved this place. Even with the sleeping arrangements being a little rough it is absolutely still totally worth it and just by bringing an extra mattress pad from home u have turned an uncomfortable situation into one completely bearable. Also, you can smoke anytime, which is great when you're up half the night detoxing and don't want to be locked in with an alarm set at 9 PM. If you're considering this place for detox, bring a comfy mattress pad and give them a try they're awesome and made me feel at home. Thanks, Ford Street Project!

The best treatment that I've been to on the North coast. They are very understanding of each individuals needs and work with them on issues that need attention. Wes and Denise are very understanding and patient. THIS IS A VERY LENIENT ENVIRONMENT AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU ENOUGH ROPE TO HANG YOURSELF SO DONT ENROLL IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT RECOVERY!! They have been there and done that so they know what people need to succeed. They also allow people to take Suboxone/Subutex which is a huge tool for some people who are trying to get and stay off opiates. Two things are working against the Google Guide tool in this case: Anonymity is impossible and subjectivity is very difficult.
