While my journey with them wasn’t perfect, I do want to acknowledge the support they provided and express gratitude for the effort and time they gave me during a very difficult season of my life. That said, there were moments where I did not feel fully supported or listened to in the ways I was hoping for. I came in seeking specific types of therapy, clearer guidance, and concrete next steps. At times, the responses felt vague, and I was left feeling uncertain about available options or referrals. I also struggled with the feeling that my age made my concerns less urgent, which was discouraging. Mental health has no age limit, and everyone deserves to feel heard and taken seriously. Despite these challenges, I recognize that systems are complex, providers are overextended, and support can look different for each person. I appreciate the professionalism shown and the resources that were offered, even if they weren’t ultimately the right fit for me. This experience encouraged me to take a more active role in my own healing—doing my own research, learning more about psychology, reflecting deeply, and strengthening my faith. Leaning on God and continuing to seek growth has been an important part of my journey. For others considering Claire Vida, I recommend going in with clear questions, advocating for your needs, and supplementing professional support with personal reflection and faith if that’s part of your life. Overall, while my experience had its difficulties, I’m still grateful for the support along the way and give four stars based on that perspective. They were unprofessional and not patient when patience is a must when dealing with mental people like me. I filed a grievance against Jessica to Miranda and Miranda was helpful and understanding. I met Breeonna Friday was very nice and have a zoom meeting tomorrow with her. Remember Jessica and Nicole from Tehachapi are the worst.Breeonna has been sick for a long time and so has my recovery coordinator but I reached out to the office and asked for a fill in therapist and Amber has really helped me with my coping skills. My brother has been coming around more, due to the motivation the counselors and staff member give him when they see him! Everyone is so polite and generous there! Stella Gonzalez 2 weeks ago I was a pain pill addict for 8 years. I started off taking vicodin (hydrocodone) as prescribed, but I really liked the euphoric affects it gave me. One a day became 2, then 2 became 4, and by the time it was all said and done, I was taking 15 hydrocodone 5/500 daily. If I had 7/750, then it was 8 a day; Darvocet 6.5/650 was 8 a day (until it was taken off the market); Oxycodone (Oxycontin) 4-6 a day. I was married at the time and my wife just had hernia surgery. I took her prescription and filled it "for her" (Oxycodone, but I don't recall the mgs. per tablet, but she had a qty. of 30). She was ok for a few days so she didn't take anything but Tylenol. After about 10 days she was hurting and decided to take one. I had taken ALL 30 of HER pills because of my addiction (NO REAL HUSBAND WOULD HAVE DONE THAT BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE PUT HIS WIFE'S NEEDS ABOVE HIS OWN). I finally had enough and searched the Internet "Stop using pain pills now". There was an article about a clinic called Aegis Medical Services that could help with opiate addiction. I called and spoke with the clinic's manager for about an hour and was 85% sure I should go. That Monday I went, got a decent check-up while there, and I've been there on and off for 4 years. People bad-mouth these types of clinics, but I'm thankful for them because now I'm not asking my 16 year-old son (who is now 21) to find me some pain pills. I was fiending (pronounced feening) and knocking on doors whenever I was out. Asking strangers on the streets if they knew where I could get vicodin. I couldn't work because I couldn't pass a drug test. I actually got denied a $20 an hour job changing filters on an oil rig in the Santa Monica area because I was taking vicodin that I didn't have a prescription for. Going to Aegis, I can hold down a steady job and I don't have to ask my son, strangers, or anyone else if they know where I can get vicodin just so I can function. When I feel the time is right, I will GRADUALLY begin a tapering process to get off of it completely and have my life back 100%. I'm only at 28 mgs. and it helps me just fine. Best wishes to anyone who wants off opiates. By the way, DO NOT do the 21 day detox program for $21. It has a 0% success rate. Perhaps try the maintenance management. But really I had no idea how to live life sober until I started working with my counselor. Which was the next day. The staff are extremely hands on with every client. I was shocked at how hands on each staff member was with every client. They loved me when I didn't love myself. Cycles of Change showed me a new way of life, they introduced to me the 12 Steps of recovery through the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. I have never been a reader but I found myself not being able to put the book down. I honestly can't thank Cycles of Change enough for saving my life, and showing life is worth living without drugs and alcohol. Today I have 2 years clean and sober and my life is so amazing today. I never thought I could stay sober an hour better yet 1 year. Of course I have good days and bad days, but I have tools to deal with life today. 8 years ago
