I have tried the other Aegis locations & quit going due to how long the wait was & how insensitive and unsympathetic the staff was especially at the Columbus location. The Aegis on Truxtun is fast very discrete clean. The staff is so nice, welcoming, sympathetic & very understanding to the patients needs. I felt welcome & heard when I voiced some concerns I had. The doctor is very nice & treats you like a human being & not less than.

The Aegis Treatment Center on 21st Street, Bakersfield CA. is a well run facility with very few hiccups in the daily routine. The front desk nurses are informative and efficient in there duties, as are the nurses that handle distribution of the meds.(Very professional). The counseling staff are well educated and experienced in there positions. Not to be forgotten how well management runs the show. This clinic has my good recommendation because of the professional and friendly personable nature of the whole staff.

Hello, I went in for help with one medication until Medicare kicked in, and I ended up with all kinds of appointments with doctors, dentists and expenses paid. Fast, fast service! Their business partners in the Medical fields are top tie; I had explanations with details never explained by previous medical professionals. Beautiful facility, caring staff. A friend needed some help in the Bakersfield area and I knew he would have a great experience at BRC. I visited him at the facility and was greeted by Louis and Brandy who instantly made me feel at home. I went in 2017 suicidal, depressed and hopeless. This amazing place changed my life by teaching me DBT and treating me as a welcomed guest. I have friends turned chosen family that I made there. The Staff was knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. The Hope House was my only experience in the mental health care system. In 2020 I lost my freedom over a lie, I experienced Good Samaritan Hospital and Mary K Shell, horrible experience, night and day, I came home with trauma and triggers by the abuses of Dr. BARNES and the GSH that has no cameras to catch them beating up patients. I wish they can take note of the peaceful, healing, environment the Hope House created and the life saving therapy. To me it was life saving because I was never suicidal or depressed again, using DBT skills my Beloved Ron taught me.

I was put in here back in 2013. I was coming off drugs and some serious life changes and had a complete mental breakdown. These people were a blessing and I can say I haven’t been in any sort of trouble to get me sent back and I’ve been sober ever since! This place is seriously a blessing for me. The food was better than jail, they let you watch movies and stay up pretty late. They gave me cigarettes until someone brought me some(quit those too!) they always had clean clothes and fresh bedding something I was not used to. The staff was extremely polite patient and understanding, even though I was out of it for awhile. The doctors initially did a check on me and decided I had to stay until I could pass a check. Thank god! It was probably only around 7-10 day experience but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

I was an participant here also an inmate per cdcr.I was in this facility not o ly as it is now known as CCTRP but also when it was FRCC when it was still fresh just opening.My first trip at FRCC now know as CCTRP back then I was a WE number We3220 to be exact it was much more racial an strict they literally had to comply with all the government rules an issues because it was still new an to continue funding many of us got shipped back to Chowchilla State Prison for the wrong movement.Now since it's CCTRP I have noticed more flexibility your able to be in the community more even go to the doctor in regular clothes instead of the facility.They gave me several chances with my drug use as well as tobacco issues.I mean alot of us,because back In the day they didn't even tell you that you were going back they just called you up front which now only various staff work where In the past it was only two sheriff's there.Anyway it's not so bad an believe me I have done my share an they still worked with me.You can continue your education an utilize your own cellphone I'm unsure there rules now but there alright..an always have good staff even bad too but hey that's anywhere

They are doing a good job. Everyone is held accountable. They can go to work and they have visiting days every week. My only suggestion would be that they can go to church. They could walk to church the same way they walk to work and you would know if they weren't actually at church because you track them. It's almost impossible to heal and recover without faith.

As i am a bit angery and impatient, because i am needing to get detox from my pain perceptions meds for a Career i am pursuing and i have been trying to find help with withdrawal systems since January 15/26 with getting some withdrawal meds. And it is now January 28, 2026. And i have been relentlessly trying to find a doc who are willing to assist me with helping me help myself. Anyway, i was explaining my frustrations with ONIE ALCANTER and she sympathized with me and was trying her best to get me seen even after i was 2 hours late from a scheduled appointment i had. And still got me on a schedule as long as i was willing to wait. I had a slight attitude and she kept her energy high regardless of my attitude. We need more people like her with her patients and understanding helping us. Trying to get off strong meds and going through withdrawals is very frustrating. And or dealing with others with severe addictions isn't easy. So i commend her. She has a very beautiful aura. Thank you so much Onie for going beyond in your Job. God bless you.
