The front desk nurses are informative and efficient in there duties, as are the nurses that handle distribution of the meds.(Very professional). There should be a BAART clinic in every city in every state in the US. I personally knew three people that died because they weren't in a BAART program and using illegal opiates. I know five people that very likely would be dead had it not been for BAART. I awoke with a cop standing over me after I stopped breathing. Important note: if an OD victim gets Narcan, and is revived, they are still in grave danger. Many opiates have a longer systemic half than Narcan, and the patient could stop breathing again. After I was revived by Narcan, I had to stay over-night in the ICU on a Narcan drip. Had that not happened, I would have died. The opiate I ODed on was methadone, which has a systemic elimination half life far longer than Narcan. I have actually got money to do things with now. The BART program is amazing program and I I really really do recommend you guys to everybody I come across that needs help. I was in shambles prior to BAART no self respect, lost my family and their respect, did not have a home or decent vehicle my entire life was up in the air I had absolutely no direction. Needless to say after meeting the extremely professional staff with their respectful down to earth attitude they made me feel right at home. Counseling was and is amazing I love being able to speak to someone who understands my struggles. Through the program I was taught to hold my self accountable for my actions among many other well needed life lessons. BAART has been the beginning to my journey but most definitely not the end so I say THANK YOU BAART Porterville 🙏 you are one of the main reasons I am here today. Also please keep in mind BAART just like any other place is closed for most holidays on google It Will say for instance today is (Insert Holiday Name Here) and it may alter the hours that are posted. They were unprofessional and not patient when patience is a must when dealing with mental people like me. I filed a grievance against Jessica to Miranda and Miranda was helpful and understanding. I met Breeonna Friday was very nice and have a zoom meeting tomorrow with her. Remember Jessica and Nicole from Tehachapi are the worst.Breeonna has been sick for a long time and so has my recovery coordinator but I reached out to the office and asked for a fill in therapist and Amber has really helped me with my coping skills. Chica 1 year ago I went in 2017 suicidal, depressed and hopeless. This amazing place changed my life by teaching me DBT and treating me as a welcomed guest. I have friends turned chosen family that I made there. The Staff was knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. The Hope House was my only experience in the mental health care system. In 2020 I lost my freedom over a lie, I experienced Good Samaritan Hospital and Mary K Shell, horrible experience, night and day, I came home with trauma and triggers by the abuses of Dr. BARNES and the GSH that has no cameras to catch them beating up patients. I wish they can take note of the peaceful, healing, environment the Hope House created and the life saving therapy. Rey Flores 6 months ago I was put in here back in 2013. I was coming off drugs and some serious life changes and had a complete mental breakdown. These people were a blessing and I can say I haven’t been in any sort of trouble to get me sent back and I’ve been sober ever since! This place is seriously a blessing for me. The food was better than jail, they let you watch movies and stay up pretty late. They gave me cigarettes until someone brought me some(quit those too!) they always had clean clothes and fresh bedding something I was not used to. The staff was extremely polite patient and understanding, even though I was out of it for awhile. The doctors initially did a check on me and decided I had to stay until I could pass a check. Everyone is held accountable. They can go to work and they have visiting days every week. My only suggestion would be that they can go to church. They could walk to church the same way they walk to work and you would know if they weren't actually at church because you track them. It's almost impossible to heal and recover without faith.
