If I can give crossroad half a point or a zero point I was there for 60 days I was in good behavior over a little mistake I was terminated from the program for something I didn't even do they didn't give me no right up no warning I have seen so many people walk out the facility to go to the store at night I never got in trouble for that they put them on a second 10-day contract but me because I'm black I didn't get any chances like the other people did the first chance they got they kick me out I feel like this place discriminate against black people and it's not about helping people it's all about getting money cuz it's government funded

TLC has been nothing but great for me. I’ve been to multiple different rehabs and outpatient centers, but this has by far been a life changing experience for me. Without Michael’s House, and Michael’s House Transitional Living Center I would probably be dead by now. The staff is truly compassionate and knows exactly what it’s like to be in the grasp of addiction. The care they provide is unmatched and truly magical. Andrew the coordinator is very active with all the patients and plans amazing trips for all to in treatment to enjoy. He’s very important to the overall morale to the people there. He is always planning great hikes and activities for all do. It’s very nice to have an activity to do and get all out of the center for some great fun!! This place physically starved me to the point I had memory loss and blood in the bathroom. It’s a hand on facility and they also give horrible psychiatric treatments. They want to abuse the sensitive out from you certain staff won’t care if you were to pass out in the heat or even grab water. One step below from abusive wilderness camps
I have ptsd from this behavioral correctional place and experienced psychosis and dissociation. Resulting from my time there and the abusive treatment from the staff towards me as a female, had extreme consequences to me as an adult woman the way I was treated was so unfair. This place will give you and eating disorder body dysmorphia and make you feel powerless and scared.send your kids to a real mental health residential facility with real practioners they can always catch up with school later !!! You don’t know what happens at these kind of places!!!
Abusive , neglectful outdated facility and practices. Bad long term impact and trauma and experiences of malnourishment and denied medical attention to girls and remove them of clothing and basic medical attention and rights. this is basically like a detention center protocol all around and how it’s set up inside, and not mental health oriented staff,
it’s a punishment place and another one of the worst troubled teen industry where you sign off a kids life and they cannot tell you if they’re ok on the other line make you sign a waiver about seeing things you can’t unsee .angry and ignoring , physically and psychologically

I’ve been at Hope by the sea for the past 10 days or so. I cannot express my frustration with not only the quality of care but also the deferred maintenance associated with all of the buildings. I have never in my life imagined that a rehabilitation center could be ran in this manner. I will update my review as my stay here continues, and I will make sure to advise on not only the chaos, lack of staff Living conditions, but when I find something to be positive about here in this facility, I will make sure to let you know.

Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding.
Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators.
In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared.
Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer.
Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.)
I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion.
Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all.
At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

We transferred my father to this treatment center and I was absolutely impressed with the amount of detail and time they put into getting to know him and all the issues he is having. His history and making it very family-centered with his care. A three-day comprehensive in-processing. Never found a place like it, definitely a gem as far as residential psychiatric treatment center goes. They go the extra mile. Thanks!

I was a client in the Clark Center back in 2010..This places was amazing! School was good and made it easy for kids like myself. Went on field trips during school hours to places like camp coranado and Balboa park, even had a flag football team that played against other flag fb teams around the county. At the Clark center, 4 favorite staff that I remember, also not sure if they still work there, but they genuinely cared about the job and kids they worked with. Mr. O, Mr. Alex, and Mr. Dan and Ms. Tina...Mr. O would wake the unit up every morning for Breakfast and school playing a specific humorous song(forgot it)...I forgot to mention the therapeutic drum program offered at the school and I think it was called Blues Tuesday, where anyone could go up on the stage and perform something musical...This places is one of the few Children's Youth programs in this state that I would recommend

I was a client in the RTC here for 8 months. It was a hard time for me mentally and emotionally, but overall I gained usefull skills and irreplaceable experiences, good and bad. I now work in mental health as a Peer Support Specialist. Hopefully, I can work in the SDCC RTC at some point as well. Mr Joe was my favorite staff during my time as a client.

I wouldn't say I LOVE this place, but out of the many doctors offices ive been in, this one is on the better end. I love my doctors, and ad long as your on time, which means a MINIMUM of 15 minutes early, you won't have issues. Unless you need to reach them by phone. Then you will be on hold for 20ish minutes. The staff is great, but I recommend not making friends in the lobby, for your own best interests.

I went to Liberty House treatment in 2024. I went there uncertain and scared. I left there with confidence of staying sober. The staff there were awesome. They were very caring , understanding and made a person feel loved and welcomed .The groups were very informational and very helpful in understanding all about addiction.
