I desperately needed to get sober & doing it on my own wasn’t working. I had no idea what to expect from this place. From my very first phone call, to the day I was discharged, the staff, nurses, techs & counselors were absolutely amazing & incredibly friendly & compassionate. The women I met and lived with at Fisher Hall surrounded me with nothing but love and support & for the first time, I didn’t feel alone in my disease. The property was beautiful, the food was good & I loved cruising the book store. The psychiatrist, Young, however, was the only disappointing part of my 28 day stay. His comment, “…in 20 years, if you live that long,” was hurtful, especially for someone so vulnerable & new to rehab and sobriety. He also made other upsetting comments to other women in my hall, but that is not my story to tell. Other than that, my stay was amazing & it gave me the tools I desperately needed. Thank you, Hazeldon Betty Ford!

My father has been attending this recovery place. Watching someone you love struggle is one of the most painful experiences life can offer. My father’s journey with addiction affected not only him, but our entire family. This rehab gave my dad a chance to step away from the chaos and begin to face the pain that fueled his addiction. This place has treated him greatly and I'll be forever grateful for what they have done. Since entering the program a few months ago, he has begun the hard work of healing. I finally feel like I have my dad back and could not be more thankful for the staff and everyone else included, truly. I HIGHLY recommend this place for someone and/or a family member struggling with addiction.

Life-Changing Experience at Pacific Bay Recovery Center
As a mom, choosing a rehab for my son was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. After researching countless facilities in San Diego, we decided on Pacific Bay Recovery Center, and I can confidently say it was the best decision we ever made.
Pacific Bay didn’t just help my son recover—they saved his life. From the very beginning, they treated him like family. The care and compassion from every staff member, from the therapist and psychiatrist to the case managers, were unparalleled. They didn’t just see my son as another patient; they truly invested in his well-being and future.
The individualized attention he received made all the difference. The therapists were deeply insightful, helping him understand and address the root causes of his struggles. The psychiatrist provided thoughtful, expert guidance, and the case managers were a source of constant support, ensuring he stayed on track every step of the way.
Beyond the clinical care, the atmosphere at Pacific Bay is warm and welcoming—a safe haven for anyone seeking to rebuild their life. They created a nurturing environment where my son felt seen, heard, and valued.
Today, my son is thriving, and it’s all thanks to the dedicated team at Pacific Bay. I am forever grateful to them for giving me my son back and helping him rediscover hope, purpose, and joy. If you’re looking for a place that goes above and beyond to treat your loved one with the care they deserve, I cannot recommend Pacific Bay Recovery Center highly enough.

Take note of the name, it’s Breathe LIFE HEALING centers. I went there to get 60 days sober and I got so much more than just sobriety. In addition to excellent tools to help me maintain sobriety Breathe also helped unlock doors to deeply buried trauma that I didn’t even know was there. It gave me the opportunity to identify and address that trauma and tools to help heal it.
I stayed willingly for 5 months and what happened during that time was transformative . I’ve been to some other excellent treatment centers but they only ever treated the symptoms of my illness and never looked at the root causes.
I felt safe to talk freely about the shame that I’d internalized growing up gay in a straight world. There was something beautiful and healing about being in groups with other gay men, being able to share honestly and to listen to their similar experiences. I was also able talk about my addiction openly and without shame. It was truly a cathartic experience.
There are some amazing staff members there who went out of their way to help me not only with life, sobriety and healing but also navigating the logistics of treatment - I am so very grateful for them.
No treatment center is perfect but Breathe is a place I sincerely believes makes healing their clients as the #1 priority rather than profit. I’m so glad I found Breathe it is truly a place where I was able to begin to heal and start leading a fulfilling sober life.
