I am 5 years sober today because of The Camp. I went thru 30 days residential treatment and IOP in 2020 and have participated in the Aftercare programs since. 10/13/25 I went back and picked up my 5 year coin. The staff was stellar, I learned so much about addiction, recovery and myself.

Elevate was an experience I'll never forget. I didn't want to go to rehab. As a man I didn't want to admit I needed help. I was afraid. To lose my job, my family and my life. But I had to do something.
The counselor over the phone was very reassuring and I came for a tour of the Santa Cruz location. I was glad to see people my own age (45) but most of the crowd was younger than me. However, they made me feel comfortable. It sort of felt like a summer camp,
Lindsay the crossfit instructor was very helpful. I hate workign out but she gave me the right amount of healthy motivation and push. I work out on my own now and I feel so much better about myself. I learned so much from the counselors, especially Tim who was one of the nicest people I've ever met.
I didn't want to go but I'm so glad I did. I have tears as i type this that Elevate really has changed my life. I still have to work for it, but I'm living proof that this program can work!

I have been through other treatment facilities in the past; but Elevate has by far been the best experience I could’ve hoped for. Recovery isn’t just the ability to abstain from substances, but the capability of transforming from within. I didn’t them a five because they don’t offer virtual therapy options. Other than that, they offer great care and really helped me in my recovery. The staff was super supportive and used evidence based methods, which helped with the combo of addiction and mental health stuff I’ve been dealing with. Their women’s groups felt safe and afirming, which made a huge difference for me. I’m grateful for the help I got

New Life Recovery changed my life. I started my journey to recovery in their in patient treatment rehab, after I graduated I moved to their day treatment program and am currently enrolled in the intensive out patient program. This is an amazing place. It absolutely changed my life. I came in broken and left feeling like I was able to get my life back. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and very considerate to the needs of each client. Their residential program provides you with a structured schedule that is suitable for learning and not overbearing so that you can really work on recovery. Their outpatient programs allow you to soldify your foundation in recovery while you adapt to a sober lifestyle. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody that needs help.

After a 28 day stay in the Summit residential treatment facility, I feel confidant and motivated in my continued abstinence and sobriety. Summit Estates has been a lifesaver for my family. I would describe the staff, counseling services, patient commitment and facility with every superlative term in the dictionary. Our family member received inpatient treatment, PHP and IOP through Summit over the course of a year, and we owe Summit a huge debt of gratitude. The staff members are outstanding: Roshin, Judy, Jon, Annee, to name a few. Addiction is a terrible, lonely disease, and the bright spot has been availing ourselves of the support, tools and community offered by Summit. I would highly recommend Summit and wish that anyone suffering from addiction could be treated by the exceptional professionals at Summit.

I had been losing my battle with recovery for almost fifteen years when Wellness Retreat was recommended to me. I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. This is more than a Rehab, this is a Wellness Center. If you want a life worth living without drugs and alcohol, start here.

This is my third rehab experience and I stayed 6 weeks. I was very grateful to be able to get a bed quickly (the very next day). This is not a resort or a vacation, it's a rehab. You won't find a spa or masseuse here, but you will find a safe and supportive environment to work on yourself. The staff was helpful and kind, but of course they are humans too. The main counselor was very helpful and intuitive - she was able to pinpoint what some of my personal issues to focus on were. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone who is serious about working on themselves. Other facilities might have more amenities, more people, etc. but I found that having less external distractions helped me get a lot more out of my time here.
Update 3 years later: still doing well, and still using the knowledge I gained here.

My disabled but independent son has been at Riviera living for over a year now. Riviera has a medication room; Pedro is very good at making sure my son takes his medication twice a day. They re-order his medication when needed and have it mailed to the facility. They have a cafeteria that cooks really hearty homestyle meals three times a day and snacks in between.
The housekeeper Susan is very aware of everyone that comes and goes. She cleans each room once a week and is like a Mom to the residents. One attendant- Elizabeth saved my son's life when she noticed he was acting strangely and followed him to his room where he had collapsed and was not breathing well. She called an ambulance.
Overall, I think that the staff are very vigilant but overworked. I think that they should hire more attendants so there is always at least 2 at a time in each house, even at night. I think it would be better if they opened a cafeteria in each home so that the residents don't have to cross the street to get to the cafeteria. Also- it would be good if they could organize hair cut visits and pedicure visits because my son will not go on his own and cannot cut his toenails by himself. The laundry is down the street so it is inconvenient for the residents to do their own laundry.

Using the VA hospital system in any city, state is not the same. I had to move around to couch surf and homeless for over ten years ending up in states between California and Florida including Washington and Utah. I have had to restart everything over every time I moved and I learned a few things over those 10 years about doctor appointments and different appointments for eyes and blood work so let me begin by saying that if you show up at 10 am and it's not busy or 1 pm and it's a mad house, either way just tell them that you are using the VA transportation and you are on a scheduled pickup and they usually move you through pretty quickly.
I can't say it's foolproof but it's a little bit of an edge for those complaining about long waiting for blood work. Just remember, don't set the bar too high of expectation, you get what you pay for, and if you don't like the VA then just pay for private health care.
Oh, they get complaints but nothing like the VA hospital system.

I want to give a huge thank you to Silicon Valley Recovery for all the help, support, and healing I received while I was in treatment. My therapist, Nick, was incredible—he truly helped me do the internal work I needed on a personal level. I’m also grateful to my counselor, Joaquin, and to Joaquin and Sam for helping me with all of my legal and DMV issues during my stay.
English is my second language, and sometimes I felt a little intimidated—especially when my English felt broken—but everyone there was so supportive. They made me feel at home, accepted, and confident. That meant so much to me.
During my time at SVR, I grew a lot as an individual. They helped me build a new way of life, and recovery has shown me how amazing life can be. I’m truly grateful for that.
You can really feel the dedication and compassion from everyone at SVR. The love and care they show each client is something special, and it made a huge difference in my experience. The program itself is amazing—I enjoyed every activity, every outing, and every meeting.

I don’t even know where to begin — Silicon Valley Recovery Center changed my life.
I arrived here broken, scared, exhausted, and unsure of where to turn next. From the moment I walked in, the entire team accepted me with open arms. They met every need I had, without hesitation or judgment. They didn’t just give me treatment — they gave me safety, dignity, and hope.
As a member of the LGBTQ community and an African-American man, I am always mindful of where I seek support. Not once did I feel judged, misunderstood, or discriminated against here. I felt respected, valued, and seen. That alone is priceless.
They also welcomed my dog, Asher — which was non-negotiable for me. Not only did they accept him, they loved him, accommodated him, and made sure he had everything he needed. They even went above and beyond and drove me more than an hour away to tour safe housing options for after treatment. That level of compassion and effort is rare.
The programming here is incredible — thoughtful, structured, intentional, and truly life-changing. The therapists, counselors, case managers, medical team, and staff are some of the most genuine humans I’ve ever met. The food is amazing, the amenities are comfortable, and the environment feels like a community, not a facility.
I came here lost and overwhelmed. I’m leaving grounded, clear, hopeful, and excited for the future. I will forever be grateful for what this place has done for me, and I mean that with my whole heart.
If you are looking for a place to heal — a place that treats you like a human being, not a number — this is where you need to be. Silicon Valley Recovery Center saved my life, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I was sad seeing all the negative reviews. My son was sent to SJBH ( minor department) Pacifica to be exact and we had a great experience. Taylor the social worker was so kind, helpful, and responsive. She truly was God sent she did everything to help my son during this difficult time for him and my family. Taylor and the team continued to keep me informed on my son's behavior, medication, and overall needs. Doctor GG and nurse Angela, Ryan, and Walter were also great people who helped my son. My son still says Ryan deserves a raise. Hopefully he gets one. Everyone was compassionate, nurturing, and supportive. I personally can say nothing but good things even for the receptionist and other staff that helped my son and my family. My son stayed here for 2 weeks. I hope whoever reads this review understands it takes a lot of trust for a parent to give to other adults to look after your child. And I honestly felt my son was safe in their care. I thank everyone for the help and support you gave my son. I truly pray that he continues to get better as he moves on from Sunol Hills to a PHP program closer to our home. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism made an experience that could have been stressful and overwhelming feel safe, supportive, and even joyful. In particular, I am so thankful to Hitome, Shari, and Dave from the labor and delivery unit. Hitome’s attentiveness and thoughtfulness were remarkable—she anticipated my needs and offered comfort and reassurance throughout the entire process. Shari’s warm-hearted and compassionate nature made me feel truly cared for, and Dave stepped in during the pushing stage with such patience and support, helping me feel confident and encouraged. I am also immensely grateful to Arlene from the Mother-Baby Unit night shift, whose organized, thorough, and compassionate care made a significant difference during the overnight hours. Additionally, I want to sincerely thank Suzane, the lactation consultant, whose professional guidance, practical advice, and encouragement helped me navigate breastfeeding with confidence. I was admitted to the orthopedic department at El Camino hospital and from the moment I arrived and checked in at patient administration on 11/3, I was greeted by friendly, caring staff. Wendy was my nurse in pre-op and she was funny, witty, and set me at ease before my surgery. When I was taken to the operating room I was met by Elizabeth the nurse and Mark the anesthesiologist. They were both extremely helpful and clearly laid out what would happen with the spinal anesthesia and how quickly I’d be out. When I was out of surgery, I was placed in the orthopedic pavilion and my nurses were exceptional! Priscilla, Elena, and Coral took amazing care of me, were attentive, and wonderful! Thanks to the amazing staff at El Camino hospital, especially the orthopedic team! You went above and beyond my expectations! Lastly, the menus had many healthy options, like roasted veggie risotto, butternut squash and garden salad. The food was great too!

I experienced excellent treatment at El Camino Health. My surgeon and her staff provided superb care in my pre-op appointments, the quadruple bypass surgery and after visits. The hospital provided equal care in my treatment during my surgery and stay. All services were easy to set up & all testing was completed quickly. Post surgery staff were helpful in making my stay as comfortable as possible. I also owe a lot to the staff for getting me up and moving, which helped in my progress to health!

I went here two times and if you want to change your life and get on your feet,..this is the place to go to! i was court ordered the first time for 90 days I ended up graduating after 6 months on my own recognizance. Hit a low point in my sobriety and knew what I needed to do the second time cause I had the 1st time in my tool box. I highly recommend this place to ANYONE who needs help with their life. I made friends there that will be the best and closest I will ever have in that place.

I gained many useful tools for use in my recovery from addiction. The sense of community and caring counselors were very good to have access to as I worked to build the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical strength to live life positively aligned with my true values. The Elevate IOP is wonderful.. would give 10 stars if I could. It is such a great way to focus my energy on my recovery. HIGHLY recommend Elevate IOP and anything else Elevate. The program rocks my socks.

I had such an amazing experience participating in the virtual IOP offered through Elevate San Jose. To start the facilitator was so engaging and knowledgeable, every session I felt as though I gained a piece of myself back. You are engaged with others that you end up building trust with, so you can truly be honest with yourself and really become vulnerable. Each session is orchestrated so well it does not compare to others I have done in the past. I was worried about how I would continue my growth after treatment but was put at ease immediately following my first appointment. I would recommend it to anyone in need of an actual helpful IOP service.

I was a patient 4x at this hospital due to instability with medicine, homelessness and illness. It was very rough for me to get adjusted due to my inability to smoke for 4-6 months. However when I did I was pleased. I was taught what close care of hygiene looks like, structured days and balanced meals, and learned what better relationships look like can be formed through advocating, asserting, and assimilating.
I needed this time to remain healthy, it could have easily been the reason I am still here. From this hospital I was granted to go to independent living, and with the skills I learned and the reasonable rent, I am a more reliable person for my family.
The staff was very sensitive to my insecurities and they sincerely invested whatever time they could to be available to speak with them. I would like to be staff as well, helping people build confidence and approach. I want to work in the mental health profession at crestwood now because after meeting many cordial guides like Tom from (phf) and fay (mhrc) both paved the way for my good faith and understanding in a more worldly way. The camp recovery center change my life !! Keith my IOP counselor helped me through a very hard time in my life and taught me healthy coping skills. From day one I felt supported and encouraged to work towards living a sober life style. Keith's group really helped me process my feelings and emotions and in turn taught me that there was a better way to live life free from substances. I was an angry and broken person when I entered the program and after serval months of the program I learned how to let things go and learned so many tools to dealing with my substance abuse issues. I can proudly say that I have 6months free from alcohol now and so much more happier and have a much more positive outlook on life now . Shout out to Keith for being so kind and compassionate!
