Pros: Caring Staff, Balanced Groups, Decent Food as far as rehabs go. Visits are allowed on weekends after 7 days.
Cons: Occasionally some clients that need special mental needs met slip in the cracks and it is difficult to replace them where they need to be.
It seems like corporate has the budget in too high of a chokehold, I can't imagine 50+ men at a rehab do not facilitate a higher budget than what is currently allocated. Clients shouldn't be able to feel this.
If you are not keen on a lot of men around you, consider other options with smaller populations. If you are heading here without a choice, talk to your counselor about any accommodations.
If you are looking to get sober, this is a place that runs a dog through the facility and tries to take measures to better facilitate it to those that want to make a serious change for their lives. If you have derailed your life and hit rock bottom, got felonies, or you just got out of prison and have conditions, this is definitely a good spot to put your life back on track. If you are going to rehab for the right reasons, you will not have an issue with 90% of the staff. Most treatment options felt like just like they were farming us for the money, this was NOT one of those facilities.
Even if you don't know where you are, give this a shot. I'm glad I did!

2024 was a transformative year for me, and a big part of that was due to my time at A Peace of Mind. As a first-time resident in a sober living environment, I didn’t know what to expect, but from the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed, supported, and understood.
The house provided a safe and structured environment that was crucial for my recovery. The staff were compassionate, knowledgeable, and always available to offer guidance. They truly cared about my progress and went above and beyond to ensure I had the tools and resources I needed to succeed.
What I loved most was the sense of community. The other residents became like family to me, and we supported each other through every step of our journeys. The group meetings, activities, and shared experiences helped me build strong, lasting connections that I know will continue long after leaving the house.
This sober living house didn’t just give me a place to stay; it gave me a fresh start, hope for the future, and the strength to continue on my path to sobriety. My bed was right next to the ice cold AC and I would sleep like a baby! I always wanted to be home. I love the Old Victorian look and feel. I can’t thank the team enough for everything they’ve done for me. I absolutely love my experience at Alter. I came in broken and struggling with my addiction and the staff here truly saved my life. Lindsay my therapist pulled me out of my shell and taught me to love myself again and gave me so many coping skills. Ryan my case manager was extremely motivating and always went out of his way to make each and everyone in this house feel comfortable and like family. Shad was there for me since day one he has the biggest heart and shared so much wisdom and compassion with me he talked me into staying when I wanted to leave and cheered me on every day I am so grateful for him. Brandon is also amazing he was there for us all along the way he shows how much he cares for each of us he pours his heart into his clients. Sam & Vanessa are absolute sweethearts they were there for me anytime I needed to talk and gave me hope, strength and laughter through difficult times. All of the staff here are incredible. I am presently residing at one of the 4word living homes. It is absolutely amazing, safe, clean and a super supportive environment to recover in. This home provides structure, which is necessary, it is drama free (for a women’s sober living, that is almost unheard of) and the managers are the most caring, loving, and hard working women I’m very grateful to be able to call family today. Living here has helped me gain stability, responsibility, accountability and given me the opportunity to rebuild my life and move forward. I cannot say enough about the gratitude and love I have for this home and it is due to the management team who makes it possible for women, like myself, who want to change their lives for the better and work a solid program of recovery. I read the reviews before writing this, I can honestly say, if anyone has something negative to say about these sober livings, it’s a personal issue they probably need to address in their lives. These homes are run phenomenally.

Horrible employees. No one answers phones. I waited for over a yr for a referral. They hang up on you. My pharmacy needed a fax to refill a prescription ive been using for yrs. No one has sent the fax. With countless calls. If you're only going to have 1 person there to handle everything why be open. Its time consuming, inconvenient and rude employees. These people are incapable of helping people. My lawyers are even trying to call to finalize a case NO ONE ANSWERS. Just close the clinic akready and portraying that you help people. For being 'medical and mental' they sure know how to make a person feel worse. Do not go to this clinic plz. Its a waste of your time and energy. I made an appt. Took the hr 45 min bus ride to find it completely closed.

I recently visited the mental health urgent care facility, and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. When I walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. They were attentive to my needs and made me feel seen and heard.
I was particularly impressed by the fact that they even provided a delicious dinner for me during my stay. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel so cared for. Additionally, the team at the facility made sure that I had access to the medication I needed to help me feel better.
Overall, my experience at the mental health urgent care was exceptional. I appreciate everything the staff did to make me feel comfortable and supported during a challenging time. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of mental health care. Thank you for everything!

Mental Health is a real sickness if you are trying to get better and seek help, whether they answer the phone or not, whether that mailbox is full or not, whether you sit outside waiting for a human being to acknowledge you, if you care about your mental health, you'll do whatever it takes to check in, wait as long as it takes to get in that door to get the HELP you need, they've helped me numerous of times, this is the place I run to for help, they help me mentally physically and emotionally in so many ways, do not suffer alone and do not suffer in silence mental health can create chaos in your life take control, don't give up, let them help you, again! let them help you, they're not your enemy they want to help you even though it's hard for us to believe that but it's true

Almost every one of the negative reviews are from 2+ years. This place has new staff and they are incredible. They are all so kind and helpful. The new psychiatrist I'm seeing (I don't know how to spell her name, but it's something like Dr Singh I think) I love her, she is extremely thorough and professional. Our first appt took an hour because she went through every aspect of my life from childhood and on to make sure my diagnoses were accurate and to be sure I didn't have any other disorders not yet picked up on. She even ordered blood work to be sure it wasn't deficiencies causing any of my symptoms. She is patient and truly calm, understanding and easy to talk to. I really enjoy this clinic and at this point I think it should have better reviews and stars!

Based on the other reviews, I had low expectations, but I went with someone through their intake and it went really well. All of the staff that we saw (security, reception, intake, therapist) were supportive, polite, clarified a few things for us when we asked, and were very patient when we had questions about the paperwork. I won't lie, the questions for psychiatric intake are VERY uncomfortable for many to answer, it's hard to open yourself up to a total stranger about your struggles and coping mechanisms like substance abuse or self-injury, but it IS a necessary step for seeking therapy, medication, & resources to help you with mental and/or behavioral illnesses. If you can, bring a loved one for support, write down or bring with you any medications you take, and really take the time to get set up with some appointments, ask questions, sip water, breathe deep or whatever you need to push yourself through these vital first steps to good health. <3 You are worth it.
