My name is Astra, I am 16 years old, and I was a resident at Evolve over 50 days. I stayed back in February to March of 2026. This place was not perfect, it had and I’m sure has many flaws still, but overall, I am very grateful to Evolve for all the help they have provided me. There were fun times and hard times, but everything helped me grow and develop in ways I didn’t think possible. When I arrived, I had just gotten out of the mental hospital a second time after failing to stay stable in my IOP program. I was depressed, shy, anxious, and having hallucinations of a traumatic event that sent me to the hospital and now here. There were a few other kids there. For privacy’s sake, I will not name them. However, I was immediately welcomed with open arms. As someone who has been hated and belittled by peers my entire life, this was a first for me. People came and went, and I developed steady relationships. There was someone I called a brother, a mom of the group, two guys who I liked messing with, and a girl who was also like a sister to me. We often made jokes around the dinner table, because at that time, the facility didn’t have a chef, and we had to eat catering food that sometimes could be nothing short of abysmal. My therapist was Makenna (sorry if I spelled that wrong.), and she is a kind, knowledgeable, and wonderful person. She helped me face my fears, let me cry out my sadness, and helped me see that other people aren’t always so horrible. Thanks to her, I built strong relationships with my RC’s and fellow clients. I saw a review about this place that bothered me. A woman sent her child here and was bothered because the other children were “more unstable” and that they traumatized her son. I probably would’ve been one of those kids. I think it’s unfair to separate us by class of our mental health, as everyone deserves a chance to recover, and if you are going to be judgmental towards others, maybe this isn’t the right place for your child. The pool was also out of commission, but we got to heal in a new way, thanks to it. There were newts and frogs down at the pool, and me and my fellow (willing) clients were able to go down and form connections with them. We even gave them names. On the weekends, we went on outings with staff, and got to experience the world through a different lens than what we saw before. One of my favorite memories from Evolve was trying to wake up my housemates every morning. We couldn’t go to breakfast until everyone was up, so the early risers had to hilariously fight the deep sleepers for the promise of food. I feel like I have sugarcoated everything so far, so I’ll go into the harder times as well. Although we were all pretty bonded, there were definitely still fights among us, as people came and went, and not everybody got along. Things could get pretty ugly, and I can’t lie and say that it wasn’t scary. Thanks to my therapist and the team though, things got settled and life moved on. If I had one thing I didn’t like however, it is the current/new program director. She was managing another house, and proceeded to neglect us in the process, causing us to not have outings and feel trapped in the house. However, the other staff were very kind, and some of them even felt like parents to me. Levi, Nick, Ernestine, and all of you, I miss you guys, and I’m so thankful for all of your help. I also struggle with a disability, epilepsy, to be exact. However, Evolve made adjustments and helped me with daily life. I feel like since I’ve been at Evolve, life has just been different. I haven’t felt this free and happy in a long time, like the chains of depression, fear, and PTSD that held me for so long are gone, or at least a little lighter. If you know someone that needs a helping hand, a nurturing environment, and fellow peers who also struggle to remind them that they are not alone, Evolve is a good choice. I don’t regret going, and I am endlessly thankful for everyone there. If you read this to the end, thank you, and I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.

through the years i’ve went to evolve twice, and i’ve got the most of the program, i’ve learned so much from evolve! I went to evolve walnut creek in 2024 and evolve danville in 2025. The staff are constantly trying their best to lift the kids up and they are extremely helpful. being at evolve has helped me grow and i’m so thankful for everyone there! Jodi, nick, ernestine, rosalind, and james really helped me! it’s been about 5 months sense my last evolve residential! The only thing bad is that they’re really under staffed. another thing i’d say is it really depends on the kids there that affect your treatment . the staff could try their best but it depends on the kids

My daughter went through the RTC-PHP-IOP Evolve gauntlet. Overall I felt that Evolve did an excellent job in stabilizing my daughter and giving her tools she could use when she resumed her “normal” life. We’re definitely noticed some regression as she moved from the more intensive to the less intensive segments of the program. However I understand that is the nature of the process. RTC is naturally going to be more wholistic and effective since it’s a 24/7 program. The important thing to understand is that your kid isn’t “fixed” by these types of programs. In the end they are equipped with tools and pointed in the right direction. Their post-release progress will be slow but hopefully steady. Evolve gives them a foundation. The rest is up to them.

Of course there’s ups and downs to any ed treatment place, and especially in times of crisis it’s hard to recognize help and wanting to get better. I went here a few years ago, it was hard and scary sometimes but I also learned a lot made friends learned how to use my own skills and helped others as well. It’s stressful to be isolayed but you have to remember everyone’s in this together. i got home sick but everyone does, and the staff made it easy for me to talk to them took me on walks. It’s hard to want to get better but they make it very encouraging to continue to try and leave the house so you can return to a better quality of life and go home. Pelin, Erin and some other girls were so amazing to me, will always remeber them to this day. Had some uncomfortable times with some of the therapists but that’s what it’s for to each their own. Hope you consider pros and cons not everyone will be ecstatic to get help with a serious eating disorder, it’s all consuming to have an Ed. But this place does give me hope and i don’t think i’d be where i am without it now, 3-4 years recovered. Thank you

I loved this place. It truly did feel like home for me. The staff there were AMAZING and the whole program in general was set up great. The staff were so welcoming and I feel like they understand me well. The food there was also really good because we had an amazing diet tech. This place has helped me so much and I think that If you are struggling you should 100% go here if it’s right for you. Also the therapist there is so amazing or at least the one I had. I have so many fond memories of this place and it will always feel like home to me. <3

Shoutout to Heather for being the amazing manager she is. Thank you to all the counselors and diet techs for being there when I needed support. Thank you for treatment team for putting in such thought into our treatment plans. And a big thank you to all the nurses for their loving care. I went here on 3/24/26 and I stayed until 6/1/26 and it was the best 67 days I’ve ever had because when I went there I was a broken man and I was near death and I was nearly 30lbs underweight from all the drinking I was doing. But the staff there very good care of me and I learned a lot about my addiction that has helped me stay sober now for 76 days today. So if you or a loved one is in need of help from addiction and you’re thinking about treatment then you should consider Sierra Health And Wellness because all the therapist and counselors and the nurses will go out of their way to help you. I cannot say enough about this place, I’ve been to other methadone clinics before but this one surpasses them all! The Doctor is absolutely amazing she’s so smart and compassionate. Ceola is my counselor and she is so smart and so capable, She’s one of the best problem solver I’ve ever met. She’s super responsible and has helped me in my journey tremendously. I can honestly say that I have never had a counselor that has been so educated and knowledgeable! Having her as my counselor and having this particular Doctor has helped me get my life back and my children back. The extent that my counselor has gone for me To help get my life back in order is just absolutely Amazing they should literally get paid triple!I normally don’t write reviews but I think it was so necessary to let people know how great they are. Motty And DC working at the front desk are also amazing! And miss Letta Has helped me a lot also!

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. I've been going to the program since June 2023. I started out in Concord, was only there for 4 to 6 months before they shut it down. From there I went to Antioch. I've been going to the BAART clinic in Antioch, CA for nearly 8 hrs and absolutely love the program. So much so I got my BFF to get treatment there and she also lives it and is so glad she took the initiative to go there and like me has found relief from the bandage of addiction. I've had a few counselors and love them all. It is like a big family there from the counselors to the dispensing nurses and all the patients. All the patients know each other and support each other. You feel very safe & supported in their relaxed, chill & friendly environment. I would recommend it to anyone experiencing the bondage of addiction. Bcz now instead of the stress of finding opiates and fear of not having them and facing withdrawal now i just take my dose in the morning and don't even think about opiates the rest of the day. Opiate addiction can be an all consuming full time job in which your entire life revolves around getting enough opiates fearing running out and the absolute misery of withdrawal. when you can't get them. But going to BAART has gotten me off that hammster wheel so I can enjoy my life without having to even think about opiates anymore. If you in bondage to opiate addiction do yourself a favor and FREE yourself by going to BAART and start truly livingb& enjoying your life.

This place has a bad reputation, I understand. However, I’ve seen it help several people that actually wanted the help and used the program properly. There is several key words in this comment that are necessary and down right vital in order for the clinic to work the way it was intended. It can help people lead a sober life and there are people that work there that care for the welfare and wellbeing of the patients that go there.

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!! I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" I highly recommend this amazing treatment facility, and hope you do not waste another second deciding on when to start your "road to recovery" at New Bridge - because it starts the moment you say "Yes"..!!! "Thank You New Bridge...!!!" Mike D. 19 Months, 20 Days Sober, and counting..... :) (from date of post)

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table. For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important. There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time. Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules. Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed. Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you. If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor. Every package you get will be inspected. For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches. You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed. Hide your stash. People steal Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it. You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you. Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it Justinzilla

Despite this place being a small health clinic, the medical staff does step up with their professionalism. Supposedly, this place is meant for those who are looking to solve their addict problem. At the same time though, people can see a physician here for a physical check up. Truly appreciate their professionalism from the personnel returning phone calls when people leave them messages, to the personnel being able to give patients their diagnostic. People can even contact the medical staff via email. There is parking available but, it is limited due to the space being small.

I came in having zero knowledge of how any of it worked and Alicia was able to answer all of my questions and help with whatever was needed. I felt that Alicia truly looked out for each client. As a technician, Gus really took the time and effort to help me with the entire process. I was clueless when I first walked in but I felt taken care of and looked after. I felt that Gus really cared for all of the patients on a personal level. He tried to connect with each of us and shared his knowledge and hope with the whole group. Overall, I felt safe here. Which is huge when dealing with addiction and being afraid of asking for help. I was able to worry only about my recovery knowing that everything else was being looked after. I recommend to anyone dealing with addiction needing to separate themselves from their substance as the first step on their recovery journey.

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.
