Ocean Recovery is a residential rehab for adults with drug and alcohol addiction in Newport Beach, California. They have programs for men and women but this particular location is for adult men. This rehab takes a holistic and comprehensive approach to addiction recovery. They understand that addiction is a complex illness that affects nearly every
I entered Oceans Recovery on June 9, 2025, after struggling with alcohol addiction that had developed over the previous couple of years. I found myself trapped in a cycle that I could not break on my own. I knew I needed help, and I am incredibly grateful that there were people who knew exactly how to help me find freedom. Leaving my beautiful home, my loving husband, and my family was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but it was also one of the best decisions I have ever made. At Oceans Recovery, I found a safe, peaceful, and beautiful environment right by the beach where I could focus entirely on healing. More importantly, I found compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated staff who genuinely cared about my recovery and well-being. The support, guidance, and tools I received during my stay changed the course of my life. During my time at Oceans, something remarkable happened, the obsession to drink was removed. What once felt impossible became possible. After completing treatment, I continued my recovery journey through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), was baptized, graduated from my church’s recovery program, and now have the privilege of leading other women through the recovery steps at my church. On June 5, 2026, I celebrated one year of sobriety, something that once seemed completely out of reach. By the grace of God, I have remained sober and continue to experience the freedom that began during my stay at Oceans. I will forever be grateful for the people, the experience, and the hope I found there. Their impact reaches far beyond the time I spent in treatment. Oceans Recovery helped give me the foundation for a new life, and for that, I can never thank them enough. To anyone considering treatment, recovery does take work. You have to be willing to prioritize your health and your healing. As someone who did not know how to help herself, I learned how to rely on people who did. Trust the process, be honest, stay willing, and put in the work. You are loved, you are valued, and you are worth the effort it takes to build a life free from the chains of addiction. Freedom is possible!

Ocean Recovery honestly saved my life. The support and love from clinicians and staff is overflowing. The eating disorder recovery I have received here has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my life; not only with the meal plan and relearning to feed myself, but the support with the Food Groups and talking about it out loud with so much support — truly amazing. With the help of therapists and process groups here, I have worked through so many childhood traumas and other life events which ultimately gets to the root of why I am an alcoholic. Ocean Recovery is thorough and met my needs wherever I needed. Highly, highly recommend and I wouldn’t have the life I have now without the program.

Oceans is by far the best treatment center I’ve been to and I have quite a record. It’s very intense and definitely the best fit for clients who are willing, but undoubtedly worth it. I have so much respect for the staff and clinicians at oceans. Thank you so much.

Beautiful facility in the heart of Costa Mesa. Minutes from the beach. Staff was very helpful and accommodating from start to finish. I was able to get approved right away with my insurance and chose the date for checking in. I did a 25 day treatment program. The program fills your week with many different classes, off site AA meetings, and offsite beach meetings as well. Other fun recovery activities were also included on the weekends with all the girls. All meals are included Chef Kelsey is amazing. My case manager Janelle, was very attentive and took care of my needs when asked for. The techs are great in all the houses. They also set me up with out patient care and made sure I left with a sponsor and more info about AA meetings in my home area. Casa Capri is a great option if you are seeking a ALL woman's center.

I came to Akua feeling scared and entirely without directions. I ended up finding my safe space. I truly came to understand that I am not alone with my struggles. The people in the groups were respectful and I did not, for one second, feel judged or made uncomfortable. The entire staff is welcoming, super friendly and knowledgeable. My counselor Kris was awesome! She helped me set up for a "life after Akua :)" with lots of research. My therapist Savannah was the best! I felt understood and my sessions with her always left me with hope and the reinforced knowledge that "yeah, I got this"!!! Good-feel bonus: yoga, acupuncture and sound- bath :) I would recommend Akua to anyone!!!

Akua Mind Body transformed my life. Their comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment program gave me the practical tools, coping strategies, therapy sessions, and personalized support I needed to build a strong foundation for recovery. After completing treatment, I have stayed sober for 908 days and continue using what I learned daily. The compassionate staff created a safe, empowering environment that addressed both my addiction and underlying mental health needs. Truly life-changing. I'm embarrassed to say I had been to a few treatment centers before I was fortunate to be placed at Nsight, although I know that's true for many people who struggle with their mental health and addiction. If you experienced trauma during childhood or at any point in your life and it affects your mental health, or you're not even sure if it does but you struggle with addiction, Nsight is the place for you. There is no other treatment center like it. Their program, groups, counselors and housing are one of a kind. The environment is kept professional unlike many other facilities. The counselors are actually educated and experienced as well as empathetic and relationship based. Nsight is so different in so many ways from other treatment centers. Nsight saved and forever changed my life. It is through Nsight that I found myself. I graduated and walked out of their program a literally completely different and better person. I went home and my mom cried and said she had no idea this is who I am and that I am actually such a beautiful, kind and fun person. After struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and other diagnosis that were inaccurate. I owe my life today to Nsight, their program and their counselors. I cannot recommend this program enough. If you're on the fence between choosing Nsight and another place - choose Nsight. You won't regret it.

Many, if not all treatment centers say they have “highly individualized” care. This place actually does. They bend over backwards to get everyone the specific care they need. I needed an AA meeting every day and a ride to the gym. They brought me EVERY day. The staff at MHC is incredible with most of them being PHD level clinicians. But every one provides life changing therapy. EMDR, changed the way I thought. Trauma therapy told me that I make sense. DBT gave me the skills to handling anything. I wanted to die. I don’t anymore. They saved my life and there isn’t another place like it.

A great experience overall. Would love to specifically call out Doug, a therapist who works here. He, like so many other therapist at the MHC, did a really good job in individual sessions at really addressing the problem and being honest. It seems like he really cares about his patients and has been doing great work. Sarah as well. Those are the two I would reach out to call about.

True Recovery is an outstanding program for both men and women. The effort that goes into their work, clients, and staff shows with each client and staff member I have come to know. Where do I start... Came to "rehab/treatment" due to a open court case. The Lord Jesus Christ has used this treatment center as a means to free me from my slavery of alcohol. I have been attending True Recovery as a client for 14 months, consecutively. The staff here connect to clients on a personal and friendly level. I have become close with many staff members and not once, do they belittle or overstep boundaries, but approach individuals on a empathetic level. Jade, I've met a wonderful friend. Michael, you are so kind. Matt, you are so knowledgeable as an instructor. Brandi, since day one you were so sweet. Forgive me if I have not mentioned you by name... If you guys are seeking a treatment center, I highly advise this place. This place is legit.

I’ve worked in addiction and crisis intervention for over 30 years — I’ve seen the full spectrum of treatment, the good, the bad, and the predatory. I refer clients to Pace regularly, and I’ve also trusted them with my own family. That second part tells you everything. What separates Pace is clinical integrity. They don’t overpromise to close admissions, they don’t warehouse people, and they don’t treat discharge as the finish line. The staff communicates with referring professionals in a way that’s respectful, timely, and substantive — rarer than it should be in this industry. The treatment is genuinely individualized, the dual diagnosis work is solid, and the continuum of care planning is among the best I’ve encountered at any level of care. Newport Beach is a beautiful setting, but what keeps me sending people there isn’t the location — it’s the outcomes and the trust built over many years and many cases. One of the few places I recommend without hesitation.

Pace Recovery is truly a special place. The team is incredibly heart centered, ethical, and deeply committed to their residents. ★★★★★ My time at Sober Partners will always be one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. I came in during a time when I was hurting and uncertain about what my future looked like. I didn’t know who I was or what was my purpose in life. What I found there was compassion, patience, structure, and people who truly cared about me as a human being. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported in a way that helped me start believing in myself again. What makes Sober Partners so special is the people. The staff show up with real heart. There were moments when I doubted myself and even wanted to leave, but they continued to encourage me to stay, trust the process, and keep going even when it felt hard. That kind of support makes a real difference in recovery. The environment is structured, supportive, and full of people who genuinely understand the recovery journey. I felt seen, respected, and encouraged every step of the way. Instead of feeling like just another client, I felt like someone whose life truly mattered. This program helped me build a real foundation for my sobriety and for a healthier, more stable life moving forward. The accountability, guidance, and sense of community gave me the support I needed to take the next steps in my recovery with hope and confidence. A huge thank you to the incredible team who supported me along the way: Amy, Brandon, Christian, Cortney, Danny, Erryk 😜, Hailey, Jack, Jimmy, Maddie, Michaela, Mariah, Margot, Meghan, Mel, Mike, Patrick, Robert, Ruben, Scott, Victoria, and anyone I may have forgotten (my brain is still healing!). And of course Andrew for the leadership and vision that makes Sober Partners such a special place. I’m deeply grateful for the love, support, patience, and encouragement I received here. Sober Partners helped me through an incredibly difficult time in my life, and I will always be thankful for everyone who walked alongside me on this part of my recovery journey. 💛 I also have to share how incredibly special this place has been for my dog, Stella. She’s not just a pet—she’s my service dog and my whole heart—and Sober Partners embraced her in a way I will never forget. They didn’t just “allow” her… they truly loved her. Before coming here, Stella’s world was very small. It was mostly just the two of us, and she lived a pretty isolated life alongside me. But being here changed that completely. She got to be around people, experience new energy, and learn how to just be a dog in the world—not just my protector, but her own little being. Watching her open up, become more social, more curious, more confident… it meant everything to me. It felt like we were both healing and growing side by side. I will forever be grateful to Sober Partners for loving her, nurturing her, and helping her come out of her shell just as much as they helped me.💕🫶🏼

Northbound paved the way to me loving myself and finding my purpose in life. My case manager, Randall, made me feel like I could truly succeed beyond this treatment and set me up for success in and out of treatment. They have a variety of paths/programs to select from based on yours and your team’s evaluations. They recommend the trauma program— I was hesitant at first due to the 45 day commitment but, oh boy, did it heal my soul. My only critique is the lack of knowledge of type 1 diabetes. I have lived as a type 1 diabetic more than half my life and felt like an alien most of the time. Where they have knowledge in the treatment itself, they lack in other health departments. I took care of my diabetes myself and felt like it was a fight for them to understand that this is a chronic disease, not something to be down played. Regardless, I still would recommend their treatment center to anyone. :) THANK YOU NORTHBOUND!!!

Beachside Recovery is a luxury alcohol and drug rehab center for adults in Newport Beach, California. They offer personalized treatment to help you overcome your addictions. These include detox, residential and outpatient services. They work with most private insurance companies or you can also pay on your own. A unique feature at their location
I went here in 2018 and this place truly helped me. I’m from Illinois and coming to OC was the thing I needed. Every counselor, therapist, and house manager truly helped me to become the person I am today. I can say I found hope and recovery at Beachside. My case manager was Monica and still am in contact with her today but she went above and beyond with her clients trying to help anyway she could. Also the recovery coach Freeman was amazing in the way he was able to connect with pretty much anyone. I miss everyone and just am so grateful this is the place my parents found me at the time.

Staff here really make this place one of a kind. I've unfortunately had to come detox here 4 times but every time I have felt genuinely loved and cared for. My needs were always met and I always was made to feel comfortable. I was able to achieve my goals. I recommend this place to anyone trying to get help getting out if their substance issues. You will find it very homey and always have access to someone who understands and can help. Not to mention the amazing outings and nightly recovery meetings off site. These definitely aided in my recovery and not feeling so cooped up. Thanks beachside crew!

My son’s participation at Embark has been transformative, not just for him but for our family as well. I cannot say enough positive things about Embark’s staff. Their care and deep understanding of our family’s unique challenges has been tremendous; my son looks forward to attending daily and with his participation and hard work change has been rapid. Hayden’s primary therapist, Tiffany Fuentes, walks on water in our eyes. Her unique insight and compassion has been remarkable. Where other therapists have failed to connect with my son, with Tiffany he has shared openly and acted on her recommendations. When I asked him to describe Tiffany, he responded, ‘in one word…amazing.’ Embark & Tiffany, thank you for changing our lives for the better.

Embark Behavioral Health has been a true blessing for my daughter and our family. She attended their PHP program during one of the hardest chapters of our lives, and I am incredibly grateful for the compassion, support, and dedication their team showed us from day one. Sophia was exceptionally kind, patient, and consistent with her communication. She kept me informed every step of the way and truly made us feel supported throughout the entire process. Kathy went above and beyond for both me and my daughter. She guided us through the program, helped us understand what to expect, and checked in on us regularly, even during moments when things were overwhelming. Her care and commitment made a tremendous impact, and I will forever appreciate her for that. I’ve seen a significant improvement in my daughter’s emotional well-being, confidence, and overall stability. The staff at Embark genuinely cares, and it shows in the progress my daughter has made. Thank you, Embark, for helping us move forward with hope, strength, and healing. I highly recommend this program to any family navigating a difficult time.

I am a mother of two and both my children attended the Jumpstart IOP program at Embark Newport Beach. I was referred to this facility after having been through another IOP program with a different company. And for the first time ever a therapist, Embark's Katheena Thirtle was able to get through to my older child. Not only that - the entire team embraced my daughter, she was shown compassion, empathy, and patience. She felt comfortable enough to open up, to allow herself to be seen. The impact was even more pronounced on my younger child - she loved being there from the first day, looked forward to going in. She felt safe, was very communicative, learned self regulation skills. I also loved having the weekly debriefs on the children, hearing what professionals with so much relevant experience thought about my complex case. Dr. Rehmani, the psychiatrist on staff, spent the time to listen and provide his thoughts on progress, or lack thereof. I also appreciated the parent-children events, they presented me with a different perspective on my child, and allowed us to know each other more. I wholeheartedly recommend their Jumpstart IOP program and I would not hesitate to return there again. Their facility is beautiful, luminous, a healing place. The art is comforting , being there brought back hope.

This treatment center helped me with my addiction and how to set up a plan after I leave to maintain my sobriety and how to avoid negative behaviors that could cause a relapse. They several groups throughout the day at the house to help you open up and get to the bottom of your addiction and how to correct it. The therapist Emma helped address my mental health issues and gave me honest and useful advice about how to deal with my past that has gave me a new perspective on how to handle my relationships both personal and familial. The house is also very spacious and comforting thanks to the staff.
