Embarks' team and outpatient for teens in Newport is amazing. I am so grateful to have them as a stepdown and continuity of care for our kiddos when they leave us in residential. Alex is an amazing asset to their team and is so caring. I appreciate them so much and what they do for families!

We had such a good experience here. Staff are caring and attentive, lots of great activities, and communication is amazing! Would have stayed longer if this wasn't a temporary situation! My daughter was so sad her time here ended, but we learned so much in the time spent and made great progress as a family.

Our family relocated from Seattle, WA where we had been working with an excellent outpatient program. However it still did not meet our needs. Both our teens were struggling with under treated mental illness and untreated trauma. We found the best doctors we could in the area but the outcomes were not what we had hoped for. When we moved to Newport Beach, CA we became desperate and expanded our search to national providers - willing to use an online intensive outpatient program (IOP) when our older teen was kicked into a full blown mental health crisis. That’s when I found Embark Behavioral Center - Newport Beach. I noticed how comprehensive their therapeutic approach was on their website and I read many reviews. I decided to call. The intake counselor was extremely empathetic and knowledgeable and over a series of weeks we worked out issues of insurance together. He was professional, polite and empathetic. We enrolled my 16 year old son. From the very first day my teen fell in love with the facility, the staff and Ginger, the therapy dog. The facility is perfect for teens - expansive, full of whimsy and fun. He felt safe there and I noticed he always wanted to attend and never missed session, which was highly unusual. He participated in many group sessions and became more comfortable socializing and began navigating his emotions with more skill. I was surprised to see him so comfortable in his friendships with the girls in the program. He came out from under his hoodie and started to become more of a social creature and more comfortable in his own skin. We also began alternating family therapy and parent coaching every other week. I honestly didn’t know it was possible for our family to experience so much healing. The entire staff is friendly, warm, professional and love working with this age group. My younger son eventually joined too. My children love to go there. They feel safe and seen. My older son has made incredible progress. We are seeing meaningful progress on issues that we’ve been banging our heads against the wall about for years. Family therapy and parent coaching has allowed me to become a grounded, consistent, in-charge parent. Our family is less co-dependent and less chaotic. Both our children are learning how to be more self-reliant and also less isolated at the same time. In addition, the medical staff is excellent. I cannot say enough about Lisa Chan PA. My children are having better results with less medications on board. She is extremely knowledgeable and also highly dedicated to her teen clients. The key for our family has been engagement by all four of us. I could not give a higher recommendation to Embark Behavioral - Newport Beach. They have set my teens and our family on a path for healing and success. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
