The counselors genuinely care about their clients and consistently go above and beyond to give you the support, guidance, tools, and encouragement you need to succeed. At the same time, they understand that they cannot do the work for you. They will meet you where you are, challenge you when you need it, and support you through difficult moments, but ultimately they teach you how to take accountability for your own recovery and your own life. The groups are thoughtful and well put together, and the structure of the program encourages you to really start looking inward. Like any program, there are rules and expectations (for good reason), but if you can follow them, stay focused on yourself instead of what other people are doing, and remain open to the process, there is so much to gain here. The staff will give you every opportunity and resource they can, but you have to be willing to meet them halfway. If you are serious about your recovery, willing to be honest with yourself, and are truly ready to put in the work, this program can truly help you change your life. The counselors will walk beside you every step of the way—but they can’t and won’t walk the steps for you. The Drs mostly are great, the only one that myself and 2 patients I spoke with, that could have a little better bedside manner is ...well let's just say that's why I gave it 4 stars. Everything is clean the manager, addresses your needs and counselors are great. You wouldn't know it was aegis if not for the sign. Sooner, like when you're panicked trying to find a place because you're about to be sick and you're out of money. Just call them. The counselors are there to help and do just that, they help. The people and staff are loving ❤️ and caring and understanding. Through god and nuropyschologic I got my self through it. I wake up thankful for no longer being dependent on medication. The waiting room was clean and .... empty. I had the place to myself and I was seen by a nurse within 15 minutes of arrival. Doctor Wilkes came in soon after, and was absolutely invested in finding solutions for my concerns. What a contrast to how I thought ny experience would be, based on some of these reviews. In any case, I hope people give this place a fair shot. They were the only clinic who would book an in- person appointment for me within days rather than months! Long waits on the phone, referrals hat aren't even in their own network or covered by Partnership of CA and Medi-Cal. But, my experience at J Street Infectious disease clinic has been great. Dr. Ledermann and her staff have been really great, professional, attentive to detail and thorough. For those navigating infectious disease for the first time or tracking known disease, J Street clinic is a fine place to do so. They were some of the sweetest, kindest, most compassionate and genuinely helpful people I have ever encountered anywhere. Detox is obviously not an easy experience, but the way I was treated made such a huge difference. I never felt judged or like I was just another patient. I felt cared about as a person. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, supported and safe, and their kindness felt completely genuine. What stood out to me most was how consistently caring everyone was. I felt genuinely cared for by every single staff member and they spent time with me helping me make phone calls and appointments that I needed to make in order to be sucessful at home. I am incredibly grateful for my 10 days at Gateway and especially for the people who work there. Thank you for making a difficult experience so much easier and for treating me with so much kindness.
