This facility is the perfect amount of structure, recovery and hope if you are truly ready for change. As a repeat offender.. I have been to GWC residential multiple times but under this new management and program, this is the time that I truly got what I needed to stay clean and have healthy coping and life skills. Kenny, Tara and Amanda guided me to make the changes I needed to lead a sober and healthy life. I worked on not just my substance use, but my mental health, trauma, codependency, self identity and restoration of family relationships. I stayed the full length of 90 days and this were the most life changing experiences of my life. I am so grateful that I got a bed at this amazing program. I am so grateful for this place. The main goal is to save lives and they are doing this and so much more.

My personal experience at Hope House was truly life-changing. You get out what you put into it, period. It definitely requires a lot of self-motivated internal work, and yes, there are a lot of rules—but those rules are there for a reason. Those rules personally helped me gain more self-discipline and self-restraint which is such an important part of recovery. Nothing and no rehab in this world is perfect, but the support I received from the staff and the amazing women there truly helped guide me to a better life. They made this journey smoother, more meaningful, and something I’ll always be grateful for. If you can keep a open mind and are ready for change...it will happen ♡

Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. I did 90 days and was treated with respect and empathy. The staff were more than attentive to my needs. USMC OIF vet with PTSD & Substance Abuse Disorder. I was able to develop a rapport with my counselor and therapist and finally address the issues that have been holding me back. The environment is clean, comfortable and safe. The food is the best I have had in any treatment. I was able to work out in the gym daily and swim occasionally, which helped lower my anxiety and help me focus. While I was there I attended 2 meetings a week and church on Sundays which were vital in helping me progress through the steps. I gained confidence in my abilities by completing 2 projects in the woodshop. Unlike at VA treatment, I was able to vape in designated areas. Whenever I had downtime I could kick back and relax in the rec area, which has two big tv's and some games. In my opinion, this program is like anything else- you get out what you put in. If you are willing to put in the work and be responsible the staff will bend over backwards for you. They even have a VA liaison. Take it from one vet to another, this is the place you want to be for therapy/recovery.

I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for New Dawn. They truly helped save my life. Thanks to this amazing treatment center, I’ve been in recovery for over three years now.
This location is absolutely beautiful and feels luxurious! I was a client at the Fair Oaks location, but at the time the Loomis location (this location) was co-ed, and we often got to come here for group sessions, acupuncture, nutrition classes, and even to swim in their beautiful pool. The staff was always extremely welcoming, compassionate, and knowledgeable. You could feel that they genuinely cared about us clients, our long-term recovery, and our experience while we were under their care, no matter which site we were at.
The combination of individual therapy and counseling, group sessions, and experiential activities creates an environment where real change is possible while also allowing clients to enjoy the comfort and luxury of the facility, which makes being away from home a little easier. I would 100% recommend New Dawn to anyone who wants to grow, heal, and rebuild their life.

Although I have been dealing with pain and suffering for years. I did not feel the V.A. Was for me. I scheduled an appointment many years ago, showed up and seen guys missing limbs and in wheelchairs. I felt they needed the time and resources, over the mental and physical pain I was enduring. I kept getting the mail, then the emails started, then information on the burn pits and pact act. I was heavily encouraged to go to the V.A. I was told the others missing limbs are being taken care of and I should go because I earned it too, and I wasn’t taking anything from them. So after many years I did. I want to thank the staff who greeted and helped me, as I’m new to the V.A. System. From the eligibility and E.R. Staff and everyone in between. From Dr. Lemons to Dr. Summers. I’ve heard stories about the V.A. Healthcare system that weren’t very flattering. I did not have that negative experience. Everyone was very helpful and helped me navigate not only with eligibility but through the different departments. I understand people can get complacent or have bad days, but the staff genuinely seemed they cared about the people and took their jobs seriously. I appreciate that. I know this can be a thankless job at times, seeing and hearing horrible stuff, and I do apologize for sharing some of my traumatic experiences with the staff, but they listened and put me on the right track to address my service connected needs. I really appreciate everyone who helped me last week. It was a full day, but we did a lot. I want to thank everyone who has called scheduling up all of the follow up appointments. If you are a veteran and need help you should reach out. If you feel you have a service connected injury either physical or mental, I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out, you earned it too! One thing I would like to point out, if you do have a mental and or physical injury and don’t go to the V.A. Hospital, thinking you don’t deserve it, or because you where trained to suck it up, or use other facilities you should really go. I imagine by getting veterans to come to these facilities, it helps with the budget and helps attract and retain good staff and acquire the necessary equipment and maintain facilities. I’ve been using Kaiser and Sutter for decades, but I truly believe the people I met at the Northern California V.A. Hospital really outshines the others. My journey has just started after a long delay, but you shouldn’t make the mistake I did, go. If you are a fellow veteran suffering from depression, having intrusive thoughts or thought of suicide you need to call 988. To all my fellow vets you earned it, go, give them a chance. They did a good job, if they disappoint me in the future , and this was a one off event, I’ll update it in the coming months. But no one skipped a beat. Clean facilities, professional staff. Go! Airborne all the way!

I didn't know what to expect when I came here and was very worried I wouldn't like it. After the first day I couldn't believe how helpful and friendly the staff were. I I very quickly realized I was going to learn a lot and meet some great people and that is exactly how it has played out. The counselors are absolutely amazing and I have learned more about addiction, behavioral therapy, anger management, the science of cravings and the science of addiction than I could have ever imagined. I thought I knew a lot because Ive been to a bunch of AA meetings. Boy was I wrong. The counselors have been absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful. They have personal experience and are very easy to relate to. The food is fantastic, the other clients in the house have become great friends, and I feel like these last 30 days has completely changed me into the person I was before I came here and has given me the tools to continue to live a healthy life after I leave. I feel like I got my life back. I love that they take us to the gym and keep us busy all day with groups and physical activity, serve us healthy delicious food, and took us to an Alpaca Farm which was sooooo much fun! Yoga Kelly, the massages, and the acupuncture were very helpful. I highly recommend New Dawn to anyone that is considering rehab. I didn't want to come here 30 days ago and now I don't want to leave! Do yourself a favor, even though it may feel like "I can't go to rehab now, I have too much going on!" You can and your life and your relationships with your family and friends will be so much better if you do. The owner and the staff truly care which is not something you see in every rehab.

Where to start, getting lab results should be easy but it takes two months plus. I go in for labs, low t, they say take it again in 6 weeks to confirm, 6 weeks later still low but it takes a month and a half later until they go over labs finally. They make a referral to endocrinologist he rejects it. Another 6 weeks for labs, followed by a month to hear about results. The staff and nurses are overall pretty rude if you express any dissatisfaction even when you arent saying anything verbally and are just put off by the chaos here. I had so much going on this last week, wife in the hospital, taking care of a house alone, two kids, work, vet appointments, upcoming surgery and the death of another veteran I served with via suicide but hey being slightly irritated but cordial is way too much for them to deal with... they take an hour and a half to fill zofran and then give me attitude about not wanting to wear a mask because I have a breathing problem. I'm not contagious and the labs have to do with my nausea which has been ongoing since 2017 but they didn't care to hear an explanation and then act like they are so put off by my demeanor and not even wanting to hear my words. Must be nice to have such a sheltered little life that you are put off by someones demeanor that you become rude because you find that so hard to deal with. I miss the Visalia Clinic and at this point am just at a loss for words. Patient advocate is a nice lady, she tries, doc tries but beauracracy is a nightmare, Hizen is a good dude too but getting call backs or scheduling to reach out or the front desk to not have an attitude is unreal. The lab techs are sweet too. Some of the staff needs to work on how they treat veterans. I changed my rating, they are pretty decent overall since it seems as if their staff have turned around and are doing much better.
