You’re in the right place.” As someone who struggled with addiction for decades, I had begun to lose hope that I could ever find—much less enjoy—sobriety. A simple Google search was my first step. After days of reading and hesitating, I finally found the courage to call Creekside. I spoke first with Eileen, who was incredibly supportive and reassuring. That conversation gave me the confidence to move forward, and she scheduled a detailed intake call. To my surprise, barely two minutes later I received a call from Jack. He was patient, knowledgeable, and answered every question I had—plus many I didn’t even know to ask. Those two phone calls quite literally saved my life, and I committed to Creekside immediately. I had been in treatment before, but the moment I walked through the front door for intake, met Jack in person, and saw the facility, I knew this place was different. The entire Creekside team is exceptional. The programming taught me things I had never learned in other programs, or even in AA. One-on-one therapy with Kate and Sara was transformative—they seemed to understand me on a level I’d never experienced before. I was able to open up more than I ever had, and they helped me explore my thoughts and worries while teaching me skills I still use today. In short, they made me stronger and more hopeful than I had been in a very long time. The nursing team is outstanding. Dacia, especially, made me feel welcome from day one and reassured me that I was exactly where I needed to be. I worked mostly with her and Jessica, and both listened carefully to my needs while also encouraging me when I needed it most. The facility itself is beautiful and filled with amenities, and the food is amazing—all with a clear focus on treating the whole person. I wasn’t just getting sober; I was getting healthy again. In both mind and body. The overall team, led by the irreplaceable Bret, is full of standouts. They welcomed feedback and gave it when I needed to hear hard truths. These are people who genuinely care. Whether I needed a hug, a moment to cry, someone to listen to me, or even some space, I always knew I was in good hands. In summary, whether you’re looking for a luxurious place to heal, just plain tired of your addiction, trying to get someone off your back, or even responding to a nudge from the judge—it doesn’t matter. I don’t say that lightly. My individual therapist truly helped save my life and helped me find a part of myself that I honestly thought was gone. For the first time in over 10 years, I can say that I know what it feels like to live without depending on opiates. I came to Alta Mira carrying years of pain, walls I had built around myself, and things I had never been completely honest about. My therapist was the first therapist I ever felt safe enough to truly open up to. She challenged me when I needed it, listened without judging me, and stayed beside me through some of the hardest days of my life. She helped me learn that saying “I’m okay” and actually being okay are two very different things. The staff and the people I met at Alta Mira gave me support during a time when I desperately needed it. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!! The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the doctors were knowledgeable and supportive, and the facility was clean and well maintained. There is a structured daily schedule, but if you’re not feeling well, you’re encouraged to rest and focus on your recovery. The facility also has a phone and laptop policy, but if you have a legitimate need to use your devices, the staff is willing to work with you to find a reasonable solution. Visitation is held on Sundays, but loved ones can bring approved items for patients any day of the week, which is a thoughtful way to stay connected and supported during treatment. Overall, I had a very positive experience at MPI and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive environment to begin their recovery journey. Jessica B 2 months ago I was there a little more than 4 years ago. I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control. Doctor Kayman is extremely knowledgeable about the brain and the counseling staff is amazing as well, always offering a listening ear and great advice to help any problems that may arise while in treatment. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. I arrived at one of the lowest points in my life—completely defeated by my circumstances and the choices I had made. From day one, the staff were incredibly supportive, compassionate, and motivating. There were at least five times when I wanted to walk out the door, but each time a different counselor met me with understanding, encouragement, and genuine care. They made me feel like I could overcome even the hardest days if I fully committed to the program. The medical team was outstanding as well. Whenever I felt that a medication wasn't working for me, they listened and adjusted my treatment promptly. Their responsiveness made a huge difference in my recovery experience. What stood out most was the compassion and empathy shown by every staff member. They truly make you feel like they're in your corner and invested in your success. The educational classes were informative and reassuring, helping me realize that I wasn't alone in my struggles. The relationships I built with other patients were equally meaningful. The support, encouragement, and camaraderie helped strengthen my determination to stay on the path to recovery. The program also offers frequent outings, which made it feel less like a detox facility and more like a place focused on healing, personal growth, and rebuilding your life. And the food—absolutely amazing. It felt like every meal was prepared by a chef from a top restaurant. Combined with the gorgeous views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, the environment provided a sense of peace and hope that was invaluable during recovery. The rooms are spacious, private, and include personal bathrooms. Honestly, it felt more like staying at a high-end hotel than a treatment facility. J Ballard 1 month ago So, I just left Palm treatment/detox center and wanted to leave a review while it’s fresh in my mind. To begin, when I was first getting checked in, a girl was on her way out literally crying with gratitude for how much this place saved her life. You could tell how genuine and appreciative she was. Super heart warming, so that was a good start. Pros to going to Palm Ave: -The staff is great, they genuinely care and all are in recovery themselves so they’re very empathetic. -It’s small, so if you’re someone who is anxious or nervous, don’t be. If I had to guess I’d say they can only hold up to about 15-20 at most and that’s a huge positive when you’re not at your best at don’t want to be around a hundred other people. -Food was very clean, healthy, and always available. -Meds are all taken care of for you, they’ll even pick up your prescriptions and make sure you get them on time, even if you’re asleep, they’re on top of it. -There’s really only one mandatory meeting (NA/AA) but several groups which are optional that I found really helpful and well led. -They don’t press you on where or when you need to be somewhere like other treatment centers do. If you need to sleep- you can sleep. Special shout out to Christian (who helped with meds, he always has good music playing and just a very positive vibe). Also, Tree. I spent ten minutes talking to this man and gained more perspective than I have in probably the last three years. Heather also, very chill and easy to talk to. These people really care. They’ve completely turned their lives around and some have come from really difficult pasts. It’s inspiring to hear their stories. Not to turn this into a novel but I’m just really stoked places like this exist- and free no less with medi-cal. To finish, if you’re struggling at all, just go for a few days. I only stayed a few days bc I had previously detoxed in a hospital but some stay much longer- the choice is yours. Thank you to everyone at Palm Ave. I won’t forget it. Good Morning" or " Good Night" They actually take an interest in why your there and what they can do to make your stay as successful as possible. Classes are set up and offered throughout the day to ensure that you have some tools when you leave. There is medical on sight and a caseworker who jumps through hoops to make sure that each client has access to all the available resources in the county.
