I came to Dee's straight from a psychiatric hospital, where I had gone out of desperation because I had given up and was ready to end my life. What I found at Dee's not only made me want to live, it gave me strength and courage to know my true self and my purpose in this world. I didn't just learn how to live without drugs and alcohol; I learned to love myself. I was surrounded by like-minded women in my age group who were on the same healing path and who, out of darkness, were clawing their way back with me to love and light. The intimacy created at Dee's by purposely keeping the facility small (6 women at a time) helped me to build trusting bonds with the women with whom I was healing. We shared such deep, sacred dark truths as well as transformative healing moments, that these women will be with me for the rest of my life's journey. I will be forever grateful to Dee's House, Dee's owner Kimmy and the rest of the Angel tribe at Dee's for giving me my life back. I now love this gift of life. Dee's House is for mature women 30+ therefore I wasn't surrounded by young women in their 20's who were just starting their journey. At the end of the day, you'll may earn a snack called a reinforcer and/or earn tickets based on vocational, STEM, and fitness. Sometimes, for once or twice a month, you'll redeem tickets for items you want or need or even an outing, such as going to arcade or having food socials. Here's the kicker... they help you improve behaviors and add life skills for you with help when needed. I went down a real dark self isolated path of self-will run riot as I tried every which way to do it own my own self will and after being in 37 treatments prior to coming to California Wellness Center I felt as if I was a lost cause. After 12 long years of suffering and digging so deep, I couldn't even find an ounce of happiness to celebrate my own 31st birthday on March 12th of this year and after spending the entire month up untill my birthday completelt isolated alone in my APT in Phoenix,AZ I became very suicidal and started strongly considering taking my own life and just ending it all I had no desire to continue down the life I was living and somewhere in that moment of desperation on March 13th at 3AM I spend the next few hours crying out to my "Higher Power "God" to give me the strength to ask for help and he did I reached out to the "Owner Will" and finally dropped the ego I had held onto for all the years of my addiction and asked for help and that very night he had me on a call with a lady named "Keelen" Admissions might not be pronouncing that correctly and I barely remember the phone call I was completely out out of my mind but they were still willing to give me a shot and she helped me all the way through to getting to the airport to me completely blacked out at the airport missing my first flight to getting me on the next flight after out and constantly calling checking in to make sure I made it there safely as well retrieving all my luggage which I had lost during that process. Upon arrival, there I was picked up by "Liam," who made sure I got to the center safely and was there every day checking in, making sure I was OK! this is an individualized treatment program, and it was exactly what I needed to finally start unraveling the many years of pain and suffering addiction had caused. From all the staff "Matt" the therapist who was there 5 days a week, helped me finally dive into a lot of the many different issues I struggled with to face them head on he didn't push but when it came time he was there when I was ready to finally let go and let others guide me and I'll be forever thankfull for that, the Nurses "Mary" and "Stephanie" were the absolute best of the best and helped on many of the rough days I had to face while there to!! And the case manager "Jason" as well the techs from "Eddy" Kelsy" "Casey" "Jack" were the best as well and all played a big role for me still being alive and well today!! From day one, the entire team treated me with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. They created an environment where I felt supported, respected, and motivated throughout my recovery journey. A special thank you goes to Victoria, Simon, and Tom, who were absolutely instrumental in helping me complete the program. To be completely honest, I don't think I would have made it past the first two weeks without Victoria. Her support, encouragement, and ability to genuinely connect with clients made all the difference during some of the toughest moments of my stay. She consistently went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met and never hesitated to help when I needed guidance. Simon was equally invaluable throughout my journey. His dedication, professionalism, and willingness to step in whenever support was needed played a huge role in keeping me on track. Together, Victoria and Simon created a level of support that made me feel like I wasn't fighting this battle alone. Tom also deserves a huge shoutout. Not only was he an important part of the team and my success in the program, but he's also a kick-ass cook. The meals were consistently excellent and gave everyone something to look forward to each day. It's hard to overstate how much good food and a positive atmosphere can improve the treatment experience, and Tom absolutely delivered on both. I'd also like to recognize Shawn, Paul, Zac, and Brent for the positive impact they had on my experience. Each of them brought their own strengths, support, and encouragement to the program, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. The sense of community and care they helped create made Oceanridge feel like much more than just a treatment center. A very special thank you goes to my therapist, Yesmeen. She was sincerely invested in helping us experience a genuine healing transformation, not just complete a program. Her compassion, insight, and commitment to helping clients grow and heal were evident in every interaction. She challenged me when I needed it, supported me when I struggled, and played a significant role in my recovery journey. The staff at Oceanridge truly care about the people they serve, and it shows in everything they do. I am incredibly grateful for the support I received and for the impact Victoria, Simon, Tom, Shawn, Paul, Zac, Brent, and Yesmeen had on my recovery. The staff here will go the extra mile for you and leave you feeling confident and aware of how to proceed with your life in a healthy way. This was the first treatment facility (out of 5) I’ve been to that left me not wanting to leave, which is a testament to the experience they provided me during a time of need. The facilities are stellar and you will absolutely love the food Tom makes. I would recommend this place to those closest to me in my life. It’s not an experience you will regret undertaking.
