The treatment programs are comprehensive and they are an excellent center for teen recovery.

I don't have enough good to say about this team. They really helped my kids when we hit a rough spot. One even started with a strained relationship with food. After some time and help from the Hillcrest team things have really improved for our family.

I had no bad experiences whatsoever the entire three months I was here, my therapist was AMAZING the counselors were great, the chefs as awesome as his food, Anastasia did everything in her power to accommodate any requests. Inspire was a life-saving experience for me. The staff is incredible, genuinely caring, and Dr. Lugo, my therapist, is a true miracle worker who saw through me and helped me confront my issues. My 12 year old son stayed at Beachside for two months in the spring and we brought home a changed child. After struggling with some significant trauma, the counselors that worked with my son were truly wonderful. The weekend activities were excellent including boating and trips to amusement parks. During the week, he learned to surf, completed his school curriculum so that he could graduate from his regular education elementary school, and took hikes at beautiful locations around Malibu. He loved the food, and participated in group and music therapy as well as individual counseling. We spoke on the phone most nights and had great weekend visits. My son is now a thriving 7th grader, enjoying school and close relationships with his friends. I would encourage anyone struggling to give your child the gift of this healing environment.

Our daughter had been prescribed a strong medication after she was hurt during gymnastics practice. We never expected it to lead to an addiction. We re so grateful to the staff of Beachside for helping her when we could not.

Anxiety has turned into such a buzzword as of late. Hearing it so often ended up desensitizing us to some issues our son was going through. Anxiety is not something to put a generic label on and be cavalier about, it’s real and has a big effect on your life. I’m so glad he is at Beachside getting help. I went here briefly from 2011 - 2012 & it saved me then. I unfortunately relapsed multiple times & went in & out of inpatient rehabs for years. In 2018 I decided to give Aegis another go. I am now coming up on SIX YEARS CLEAN in October thanks to this program helping to o keep my arse in line.

Passages changed my life. It is not easy - in fact it s really, really hard. If you re committed to doing it the right way - you are going to wind up dealing with a lot of painful issues and hurts - and all without your substance of choice to numb the pain. But - you will be supported every step of the way. The staff is WONDERFUL and so genuinely happy for the progress you make. The other clients become your closest friends and there is nothing you can say there that will shock anyone. There is zero judgment, just support and kindness and encouragement. Even post discharge they have weekly in person and online alumni groups which are fantastic and the facilitators of those groups genuinely care. Other than becoming a mom, Passages is the best thing that ever happened to me. I m forever grateful.

I highly recommend Avalon if you are seeking treatment for either or both addiction or mental health treatment. I personally had a long struggle with addiction, depression and anxiety. The services and treatment they provided allowed me to heal in what I felt was a safe and comfortable space. All the staff from the RAs to the clinicians to the doctors and even the maids were so welcoming and I believe truly had my best interest in heart. Not only have I noticed this for myself but also with my peers who stayed at Avalon during my time as well. I have seen them treat some cases that were extremely difficult and they did so with precision and care and I was able to witness these people that on some level I thought were hopeless actual heal, get stabilized and come out the other side. I ve been around many treatment centers and have actually been to three of them myself to get my life back from drug addiction. I say it all the time and I will only direct anyone. This is by far the absolute best treatment center there is all staffed by people that have been through it so they know what they are talking about and that they care so much about their clients. There is so much recovery that comes out of this place and I m just honored to be a part of their team. My daughter, was a resident of Oak Forest Recovery. We're both Hawaii residents. She flew up there last year in mid 2023 and received detox treatments and then resided towards the fall at Oak Forest. As a praying mom and being directed by God, my daughter truly was at the right sober living home to receive an in depth living structured rehabilitation therapy. Jenna was her manager of the household there. And a stand in mom for me. She was not only very professional, competent, self assuring and efficient in her duties, but empathetic, caring, understanding and patient. Those exemplary qualities is needed to set the tone for the entire household, the techs, assistants, housekeeping, and the residents. I was regularly in touch with my daughter as well as staff to ensure her progress and well being. The place was huge, many rooms, bathrooms, and necessary spaces. They had strict schedules to adhere to, but not burdensome. Pet friendly. They were encouraged to be responsible and progress on their 12 steps. She always had meetings to go to and sometimes special guests to advance their therapy through exercises from professional counselors that included family members to get involved. Paying out of pocket was difficult, but their willingness to work with us was much appreciated. Their care and concern felt genuine. My daughter left there late Jan of 2024. So approx 5 months she was living there and returned back home to Hawaii. She's about a year and half sober. She continued meetings here in Hawaii and a couple months from returning home, she started work. Her work was also continued therapy for her and she's still working at the same place about 9 months later. As a result from the residential rehabilitative care at Oak Forest Recovery in California, which is where she spent the majority of her time at, she has demonstrated her new found confidence, clearer conscious, loving herself, loving others, forgiving herself, forgiving others. Becoming selfless, instead of her old selfish ways, and now being attentive to other peoples needs and trying to make other peoples lives better. My daughter DID a complete 180 degree turn. She now gives me money and pays for whatever she's able to pay for regarding household and vehicle expenses. Her old unhealthy relationships are discontinued. Now completely family oriented and involved with our activities. Now stronger, found her voice, genuine laughter and an excitement for life. Her desire to pray and follow God thru obedience to Him and believing in Jesus Christ as her savior has brought her to where she is now. My miracle daughter and living testimony. She'll be sharing her experiences to many others going through their addictions, that there is HOPE and Oak Forest Recovery played a big part in it. First, thank you for the life I have today. I have become open about my story of recovery, in that through surgeries, loss of loved ones, and isolation in Covid... I fell victim of my traumas. Previously sober for 13 years, pain medications set me back for a few years losing my way. But you never lose that experience. Here are some areas where TPM excelled: World class staff (from therapists to Resident Advisors), delicious and healthy food, beautiful and clean facilities, fun and engaging groups and excursions, the list really could go on.I chose TPM for their chronic pain program after being house bound with chronic pain and illness for 7 years, since age 14. I had NO life and my health was severely compromised. TPM took me in with open arms and a plan. I have since made a deep and true recovery from ALL of my chronic pain and symptoms. I was in a car accident 30 years ago and severed my foot broke my back and was in the ICU for 24 days. I spent years having reconstructive surgeries and hours of physical therapy. As I got older they put me on a pain cocktail which I stayed on for seventeen years.I was in and out of a wheelchair and walked with a cane. I never thought that I would have any sort of quality of life. I m living a life now where I can travel and watch my grandchildren. I even got a dog that I take on walks without a cane. I do Pilates and yoga and feel better than I have in decades. The pain recovery program was ground breaking for me, The team of doctor s Dr. Mel and Dr. Les and therapist s Christiana and Morgan are AMAZING . The food and accommodations were 5 star. The attention to your individuality was impressive. What they do can not be beat by any other program out there. All the staff took a real interest in my well being with genuine concern. Thank you for giving me my life back team.

My son had a great experience here. The team is stellar and treated him like he was their own family. We had a few rough days and they were amazing with keeping me in the loop and making sure to carry out my wishes. He was diagnosed within the first month of what his mental health issues were and they treated him according to what they thought was best for him. They gave us a lot of materials for us to educate us about his disorder, and educated him on what it meant and how to move forward.

I worked as a program aide at Visions for 8 months. I saw the innermost workings of the company and worked directly with the kids. Working as a program aide at Visions was the most meaningful time of my life. Program aides spend the most time with the kids, and because of that I was able to watch the transformation happen.I saw kids come into Visions in psychosis, in deep depression, in immense anxiety, and in general suffering. I watched many miracles happen over the course of 45-60 days. And I saw those same kids who came into Visions so sick leave completely changed. Visions works because of their insistence on the family work. While Visions' residents are doing the work, their parents are doing the work along with them. Each kid at Visions has a Family Therapist, and individual therapist, a psychiatrist, an internist, a host of program aids, and a depth of specialty clinicians for CBT therapy, DBT therapy, eating disorders, OCD, ASD, Trauma.These kids have more help at their disposal at Visions than any human generally ever experiences. Offering this level of support in such a critical time in a teen's life sets them up for successes beyond their and their parents' dreams. I know because I saw it. I went to BNI Calabasas in 2021. The first few days were hard, but the staff made me feel absolutely comfortable and validated. I ve been to other residentials and I can tell you, this place is the best option. The groups are still memorable to this day, being educational and valuable for life. I was only 13 when I went in and had a group full of a lot older kids then me, I found a lasting friendship with a girl in there who was the same age as me who is still my best friend to this day. And when we both got on Level 3, they let us become roommates! It was honestly a great experience for being a treatment center. I absolutely LOVE and MISS Rose so much! So many other staff who helped me and sat with me through the laughs and the tears! BNI is a great place for troubled or lost teens. I absolutely loved all the activities we did (Equine therapy with horses, swimming , surfing, going on outings). This place is genuine and as fun a rehab can get To this day, I remember Rose being the most amazing rehab mom ever and she is someone I will always remember and respect! Thank you BNI for the support, treatment, and tools you gave me to succeed in life!
