I have read a few of the other reviews and I have to say that I disagree with most of them. While the check in process and the wait times for the pharmacy are a bit long and tiresome, I have had good experiences with each Dr., nurse and desk attendant I have dealt with.

I've had a few stints with rehab and none even skinned the surface of what I learned here. Located on a beautiful property in the foothills of Murrieta, with in house groups led by instructors that break it down so in depth. My perspective had a total shift and I can honestly say I owe my life and the promise of a new future to this facility and it's faculty. If you're willing to do the work this is the place to get into your core issues and help you recover from the lifestyle and vices that one is addicted to. I recommend this place to anyone who wants something different from life. DBT, CBT, recovery education, family therapy are just a few of the groups and The program director and Clinical director hand picked a team that is progressive, informed, patient, caring and passionate about what they do. I encourage anyone who's seeking treatment to look into this program I first hand watched others and had my life transformed.

What you need to know about Ranch Creek Recovery:
They accept health care insurance. Katie was great in helping me find the right healthcare provider and coordinating enrollment
PRIOR TO ARRIVAL:
coordinate which house you will be staying at (Bass or Dorrien), what day you'll be arriving, how you'll get to the program, pack a week worth of clothes including a bathing suit, books, booklight (if you plan to read, because all lightbulbs are the dimmest possible), and alarm clock (unless you like counselors walking into your space, waking you up randomly).
UPON ARRIVAL:
You will need to be dropped off (there is no personal parking or vehicle storage). You'll go through a search (appropriately, light pocket check and bags emptied) all electronics will be confiscated (headphones, phones, chargers, etc) and stored in a locked closet. Full inventory documented for all items. You will have up-to 3 days to DETOX as needed where you can sleep and rest privately. I personally got bored very fast and decided to join the group early rather than just sleep, but the option is available as needed.
ONCE SETTLED IN:
There is a 7 day blackout period where you are not allowed phone or computer use and can not have visitors or communicate with family/friends (emergency exceptions). There are typically 4 (one hour) group sessions daily, during which either worksheets are used from various therapy resources, or rehabilitation-related YouTube videos are shown. Counselors rotate based on internal scheduling. You'll have 1-2 private therapy sessions scheduled each week for one on one with Leena or Christine both are great to work with and talk to one on one. Meals are scheduled 3 times a day, residents are responsible for cooking their own meals and can "graze" in making snacks/meals as needed.
DEPARTING:
A close-out assessment will be completed prior to your scheduled last day with an emergency safety plan for sign off. A pick-up time will be scheduled, all itemized inventory reviewed with sign-off. an IOP Intensive Outpatient Program will be offered through RCR Ranch Creek Recovery and/or a plan for after care reviewed.
NOTES:
Phone use allowed 1 hour a day at night after dinner, following a 7 day blackout period. Group sessions can be "boring" lots of downtime, lots of staff turnover.
There are two houses BASS & DORRIEN.
Bass is the main property and where groups are held.
Sleeps 6 residents. There are 3 private bedrooms each with a queen bed (one has it's own bathroom, the other 2 share a bathroom), and 1 oversized bedroom with 3 queen beds, another full bathroom by the living room. big screen smart tv, L-shaped old sofa [over-due to be replaced], matching captains chair with footrest [also ready to be replaced], eloquent dining room (dedicated as an art space), enormous dream kitchen with separate pantry room, food shopping is done once a week with a list (residents responsible to cook their own meals), Pool Table, Ping Pong,, Pool (ICE COLD), Jacuzzi (turned on Friday night only, no lights), garage with some gym equipment (you can use during free time), and a large sunny well maintained backyard is accessible.
Dorrien is the "overflow" smaller secondary house about 10 minutes away. Also sleeps 6 total. 1 large bedroom with 3 beds, 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 1 master with a queen bed which shares a jack-and-jill bathroom. TV, living room, hot tub.

Get ready folks, because this is going to be a novel. I have that many good things to say. This is my one and only time in a treatment center. South Shores Recovery is a blessed, incredible experience from start to finish. They coordinate everything from your arrival to your exit, checking on you every step of the way. From the moment you arrive you are met with care and compassion. They do everything they can to make you comfortable and feel safe as you detox and in your surroundings, that includes when you move to another house after you get settled from your week of detox. The staff from in-take to techs to case managers and therapist genuinely care and take care of you at every turn. It felt more like friends than staff and guest- a quick shout out to all those that I got the pleasure to meet. They are truly wonderful and so very appreciated. They keep you fed and full of snacks as you ride the road of recovery while also keeping you busy with group during the week and nightly meetings ranging from AA, CA (Cocaine Anonymous)to NA (Narcotics Anonymous). The weekly group sessions are different every day and include things like yoga, sound therapy, meditation, harp, trips to the gym and outdoor activities like surfing. Saturdays have a fun activity like kayaking, bowling or going to the movies. While Sundays involve a weekly trip to Target and the option of going to church in the morning. This keeps the entire experience beneficial to the mind, body and soul. This recovery center is not just for alcoholics but for any addict that makes the brave decision to get better and work toward the life they deserve. This was the best decision I have ever made, aside from marrying my husband. If you are apprehensive or concerned about taking this first step, please take my advice and consider... this can't hurt, it can only help and that is exactly what the amazing humans at South Shores Recovery strive and are meant to do.

I cannot begin to express the depth of my gratitude for this place and the incredible staff who make it what it is. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with open arms and immediately made to feel safe, comfortable, and understood. The staff are not only knowledgeable, but also genuinely compassionate—always willing to listen, laugh with you, and stand by your side during the times you need support the most.
The groups are thoughtfully designed and different every single day, which keeps you fully engaged and allows you to explore so many meaningful areas of life. Discussions cover everything from addiction, mental health, and spirituality, to family, relationships, and childhood experiences. Each topic is approached with honesty, care, and encouragement, creating an environment where healing and growth feel possible.
This is far more than just a program—it’s a community, a safe haven, and a place where you can rediscover yourself while being supported every step of the way. I could not recommend it highly enough to anyone seeking real change and genuine connection.

Best recovery experience ever! This is my second time in rehab and South Shores really works on your mind, body and soul. I am 18 days sober. I feel amazing! Detox was great and I came off the detox meds early. The staff is nothing short of amazing. They support you and your recovery every step of the way. The food might be my only complaint. I love the variety of meetings. I’m an alcoholic but not everyone here is an alcoholic so we went to other meetings so that everyone could experience something specific for their addiction. I love this place.

If you or someone you love is struggling with dual diagnosis, I cannot recommend Ocean Ridge enough. From the moment I called, I was safely taken into the hands of an extremely thorough, professional, compassionate team. I first spoke with Paul, who immediately eased my concerns and spoke with me at length with understanding until I could speak with Simon. Simon personally worked with my family and my hotel to get me safely to the treatment facility, showing the urgency my situation required. In my years of addiction, I had never been as scared as I was when I called Ocean Ridge that day. That fear was soon replaced with feeling safe, cared for, and confident in the professionals supporting me — more than I ever thought possible.
Their program is incredible. From the personalized psychiatric treatment to the customized recovery program, it was the greatest gift I have ever received. As a business owner, I was especially grateful for how accommodating they were, ensuring I had the environment necessary to work when needed.
There was never a time when Simon didn’t check in or facilitate any needs for myself or the other patients. Regardless of what it was, there was always a well thought-out solution with excellent communication. Tom, the chef, provided the BEST food and happily took care of any dietary needs. The entire staff was incredibly kind and funny. They made every day fun while also creating a safe space to do the deep work of recovery.
There were many days spent at the beach, doing activities, art, movies, and other unique outings that reminded us how much joy life has to offer in any situation. They also provide sound baths, meditation, and PhD-backed presentations on the effects of addiction, nutrition, and the brain. The talk groups in between were a supportive, controlled environment to process with others in similar situations. I especially enjoyed Paul’s groups and the feedback and knowledge he shared. Daily access to the gym and the beach was another huge benefit for me.
The homes and rooms are exceptional — I was blown away by how clean and beautiful they were. The night staff made me feel safe and had great personalities as well. You will not leave treatment without a well-thought-out aftercare plan. It is completely tailored to your needs and situation. Ocean Ridge partners with excellent programs they trust to ensure the highest success rate and smoothest transition possible. Since leaving treatment, I’ve received multiple calls from Simon to check in and make sure I have the tools I need. That tells you everything you need to know.
Most importantly, I must mention the owners of Ocean Ridge, who work directly inside the treatment center. They are incredibly kind with a true passion for recovery and those seeking it. I would not have been able to attend the program — or gain as much as I did — without them and the program they’ve built. I will be forever grateful. If you are considering Ocean Ridge, make the call. I just hit another milestone in my sobriety, and I am thankful that I will hit many more thanks to this program.

Ocean Ridge is the best place for recovery. I spent 40 days inpatient and it really helped me. The place is wonderful and relaxing. The staff is incredible: super helpful, open minded, they really understand your necessity and they all have advices, thanks to their experience, to help you coping and move forward. They gave me a new motivation. They take us pretty much every day at the gym and weekends activities are incredibly funny and team building. Beach times and other activities during the weekend helped me to enjoy life once again. The food is amazing, always on-time and very well prepared. I had my own room and it was perfectly cleaned-up, with a big TV, internet connection and plenty of space. I shared the restroom with another client and it was clean and not busy at all. My therapist was Yasmin and I never had a better experience in my life: she made me very comfortable and finally I had the chance to open myself as never before.
I had a very profound experience and I will suggest Ocean Ridge to everyone who want to change his/her life for good.
I will ever be thankful enough to all the staff from the management to the friends I was ale to make.

I went to SBT a little over two years ago now on march 7th 2023, I was beat down and close to giving up due to my alcoholism and drug addiction. I had been through treatment twice before and didn’t think anything was going to change but I was willing to try. I was placed in a nice house with very knowledgeable and relatable staff members that helped guide me in my early days of detoxification. They kept me hopeful for a better life even though I felt like mine was over. The program they run is smooth and effective, they kept a close eye on me and made sure my needs were met. I can’t say enough good things about the program, my uncle passed away while I was in detox and on black out protocol and they still let me make a phone call to my family because they knew how much it would mean to me. Also had it not been for a counselor named Rachael, I’m not sure I would be sober to this day. She helped me navigate the best course of action to remain in sobriety by showing me all the resources and places I could go for after care both in my home state of WV and other options closer to their program as well. Had I not been made aware of the fact that I could go to boardwalk recovery after SBT I don’t think I would have made it as far as I have now. When I think back on my experience at Casa Palmera in Del Mar, I get a peaceful feeling because when I was there, I felt safe and cared for.
It is a wonderful treatment facility and the best thing I ever did for myself!
The facility itself is very peaceful with multiple courtyards, fountains, and a koi pond where we went to journal or meditate.
The staff members are outstanding.
Starting with the lead therapists, facilitators, and behavioral techs.. to the yoga teacher, housekeepers, and kitchen staff. I felt like everybody was so kind and compassionate. The therapists were top notch, where they really try to fit people with the a therapist to match their needs
Casa incorporates a variety of practices to benefit recovery. There are AA/CA/HA, meetings; Refuge Recovery, Trauma, therapy, music, therapy, meditation, yoga…
For special outings, there are beach days, hiking, horse, therapy, etc.
it may seems like a frivolous detail for some, but having three meals a day and snacks prepared for me every day, and having my laundry done for me so I could focus on my recovery was the icing on the cake.
I am a local, living in the area and there are so many of us in the recovery community who went there At various times, some people more than once; and we’re still like a big family Who love and support each other
There are going to be people who complain about it, but I think most of those people are the ones that were in there not of their own accord, and found fault with everything. It’s not a 5-star hotel, which some seem to expect when they come.
It’s a beautiful and loving recovery facility where they love you into health so you can leave there with the tools to start your lifetime of recovery. They give you the reins to take responsibility and take action for your own recovery when you leave.

Aton has the most beneficial, overall program in place for true care of your mind, body and spirit. I came here unaware of how all of the services would come together and it was unbelievable to me that this team of people can help someone like me start over again. From the owners, who are constantly even making improvements, while I was in care, to the staff, to the level of nutrition and balance in therapeutical work, to small group work, and all of the self work you complete . Aton is a blessing and teaches you there is a way of life that can add years on to your own, and in only 30 days as well, that is incredible. This, by far, was the best thing I could have gifted myself. Their determination to be available for whatever may come up, their staff, their respect and courtesy, their consistency to assist with your insurance issues… well, Aton leaves nothing unaddressed for your needs and even assisting with your family’s needs. This has been my saving grace and I am determined to use all of the skills and aftercare tools that have been provided to me, some of which I didn’t even know existed. This place helped me overcome my trauma and I left there feeling lighter! The staff here really cares! I want to give a huge shout out to my care team! Dr. Vejar did an amazing job with my family sessions. Anna was AMAZING and really changed my life. The EMDR sessions with her were really effective! I also want to give a shout out to the RA staff they were very friendly. It also helped that a lot of the staff there is in recovery themselves. Lastly I want to thanks the chefs for accommodating my diet they really went above and beyond!

Yeah they have a few things that could use VA some adjusting but overall the programming was very effective they not only focused on the addition part of my disease they were able to get to the core of why I had used drugs for so long and helped me to process the issues an learn solid solutions and coping mechanisms for when I get the urge to relapse or when I get an anxiety attack!! Plus I got connected with the most beautiful souls in the world who are just like me with the same mindset!! Prior to going to Villa Kali Ma I researched many other programs, but I am so grateful that I chose VKM. The location is peaceful and beautiful, the staff are so amazing. They are kind and caring and make you feel at home. The different treatment modalities are so beneficial and I still use them outside of the program. Overall I felt like Villa Kali Ma healed me and brought me back to myself, on a spiritual and emotional level by helping me process deep rooted issues and why I really had a problem. I write this review two and a half years later, having thoroughly tested the tools and experienced the wonderful staff at VKM to see if the lessons and gifts provided could endure. I want to share with every woman- partners, parents, and friends- that VKM is a true temple of knowledge and healing.
I arrived during a troubled time in my life: broken, vulnerable, and desperate for guidance to begin my healing journey. I followed one rule: “Be open and trust the process.” Every woman I met there has remained in my heart and is part of my ongoing healing. Each staff member was uniquely qualified to support me: diligently, caring, and knowledgeable. The intake staff includes some of the most compassionate women I have met, likely due to their past experiences, which enable them to guide others on their healing journeys. The holistic team is exceptional; more than yoga teachers, they are spiritual leaders and warriors, as we all are.
The individualized schedules adapt to each person's needs. If you're fine with vegan options, the food is excellent (I emerged in the best shape of my life). These women can perform miracles if you're ready to work with them and confront your challenges with integrity. During my time there, I was accepted to a university and am now in the final leg of my B. S. in Psychology, graduating with honors. I've faced significant challenges since leaving, including a family member's cancer diagnosis and losing my sister at the young age of 47. Yes, I have stumbled and fallen over the past two years.
Despite these difficulties, I write to share that the tools and healing I received from VKM helped me rise again, let go of what didn't serve me, forgive those who hurt me, and, most importantly, extend forgiveness to myself with self-compassion Thank you, Kay and ladies, for honoring your chosen path of facilitating healing in a holistic manner that honors your God-given assignment to be the Light for us Ladies in need.

As someone who was very hesitant to try an impatient program, I couldn’t be happier that I found this gem. Everything from the admissions coordinator (Kim), to the private driver from airport (Todd), to my intake at the house (Hans, Reif, Edith, Josh), to the private chef (Danielle), to the supervisor (Sam), to the case managers and therapists (Robert, Ligi, Jess), everyone made absolute sure that this seemingly scary experience was far from just that.
The care/medication management was on point. The private chef cooked some of the testiest meals I have ever consumed. The views of the pacific were absolutely incredible. I used the onsite home gym and hot tub daily. They even had onsite accupuncture and yoga. The group therapy content and material was life changing and foundational in my recovery journey. Each of the 6 bedrooms in the house has a unique vibe and special touch. I was so thankful to have access to my laptop as a working professional, and my phone to stay in touch with friends and family. We even had outings to go shopping, walk the harbor and pier, massages, kayaking, and whale watching. Chapters Capistrano saved my life and will never be forgotten.

Chapters Capistrano is absolutely amazing in every way, starting with the incredible supervisor of the center, Savannah. Her work ethic, inspiring attitude and true care for each patient trickles down to every component of the program, making it the best center I have ever attended. I am forever indebted to Chapters for providing me with the skills and insight I was missing to finally break free from the chains of addiction. Also, the small setting (no more than 6 clients per house) allowed for deeper connections which is so important to early recovery! Thank you to the whole staff for all of their patience and love, the walks on the beach, the outings, getting aftercare set up, getting me on the right meds and the wonderful atmosphere that truly is designed to set the clients up for success!! I'm so thankful for the team at NMW. I came from out of state after seeing a friend of mine get clean here. I'm now 6 months sober and I'm back to loving myself and life. Juanita and the intake staff make the process with the insurance companies and arrival seamless so you can focus purely on recovery. The staff, main facility, housing, programs and activities are top class. I really couldn't say better things about their program. I wish I would have made it years ago. At the time in my life when I needed a place for healing this name came up immediately! At that time I thought it was too good to be true. I had never been to a treatment center before and did not know what to expect. If that is you, just know that it is real and absolutely amazing! They have someone on staff in particular who is truly an angel. Don’t get me wrong all of the staff are incredible but, this one lady, Juanita practically saved my life. From the initial calls to get me there to being in touch with me at each airport that I had to transfer from, Juanita showed me how much she cared about me. In saying this please keep in mind she did not know me from Adam. She simply knew I was broken and needed help. She will forever be my guardian angel! The facility itself is beautiful. The location is great. The therapy is second to none in my honest opinion. I learned so much about me and what broke me. I wholeheartedly recommend NMW to anyone that needs recovery including mental health and or addiction. They will see YOU the individual. I truly believe in my heart that they are not in it for the money. They are doing what they do to save lives and show us all that there is healing and a bright future ahead of you no matter what has happened in the past.

I had a good experience at Monarch Shores. From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed and cared for. The treatment center is located right by the beach and the views alone are healing…waking up each day to the ocean made recovery feel peaceful and hopeful.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported throughout my stay. Monarch Shores isn’t just a treatment center it’s a place where you can find strength, healing, and peace. I came through SOCDT back in May of 2019 and just celebrated 3 years clean and sober. I’m so grateful to Salina, and the staff there for helping me in my journey and what an integral part they played in showing me that recovery is possible. I came to SOCD a little over a year ago for help and was immediately taken in with open arms, non-judgement and kindness.I wasn’t expecting much, especially during the pandemic, where most other treatment centers were struggling to keep their doors open. The level of 24/7 care I received from Salina and her staff was above and beyond what I have seen in other treatment centers. I feel so blessed that I found SOCD because they really care about your recovery. The empathy and grace I received, and continue to receive, from Salina, Alex and Greg was something I desperately needed. When you stay there it is apparent that they are all doing what they love and what they feel called to do. The therapy I received undoubtably changed the trajectory of my life. I now have over a year of sobriety thanks to Salina and her staff.
I recommend SOCD to anyone suffering from addiction and would like to learn how to live a more authentic, purpose-driven life. If you’re in a place where you are ready to ask for help they will not drop your hand, they will not give up on you and will not let you down. This place is driven by a lot more than financial gain (which is RARE). Overall, if you are considering treatment I highly recommend SOCD. It is more than just a treatment center, they facilitated an environment where I found it safe to find myself and, if you’re ready, they will help you find yourself too.

SOCD and staff are so great I couldn’t stop at just one visit I had to go back a second time lol. South Orange County Detox has extremely hard working and caring staff, a nice home like environment, and a very knowledgeable and experienced owner/program director! A stay at SOCD becomes exactly what you, personally, need it to be. This is not a cookie cutter treatment center that just drops you off at meetings and only preaches the big book. At SOCD you receive the attention and the quality of care you need in order to actually heal from alcoholism and addiction. You will not be just another number here. If you are truly ready to live a life, not only physically, free of drugs and alcohol, but emotionally, as well then South Orange County Detox is the place for you.

I’m really grateful for my experience at Anchored Recovery Center in San Juan Capistrano. I came into their IOP program (intensive outpatient program) unsure of what to expect, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed. The staff here truly cares and takes the time to help each person, not just as clients but as individuals.
The outpatient treatment gave me structure while still letting me take care of responsibilities at home and work. The groups were powerful and gave me tools to actually manage life in recovery instead of just talking about addiction. I’ve been to other addiction treatment programs in Orange County, and this one felt different—more personal and supportive.
