Really enjoy this place, dealing with the stuff is great especially when you are someone new and feeling rather out of place so uncomfortable they are very quick to make you feel at home and prioritize your situation, at least enough to where you feel more than acknowledged and taking care of.. they are very genuine and showing that they care and the results always seem to reflect that as well.
This place and many of its staff have contributed in a little big part of several important factors which have been nothing short of Essentials in my daily routine, in my recovery. Help to which the quality of my life today, would simply not be possible without!
I sincerely look forward to continuing to work with MHS, but most importantly, with THIS; "Escondido" location/office, and the team that holds it together (previously was with Santee office, which also provides top-tier care and case management), as I continue to advance forward with my new life, and whatever it has in-store for me.
Thanks MHS!

Harmony Grove Recovery is an incredible place to begin your recovery journey. From the moment you arrive, you’re treated with respect and care. One of the things that really stood out to me was having my own private room, which made a big difference in feeling safe and comfortable.
You meet weekly with a nurse, doctor, and psychologist, which ensures your physical and mental health are a top priority. The therapy sessions are meaningful and personalized. The staff is solid—professional, compassionate, and always there when you need them.
The on-site gym helps promote physical wellness, and AA meetings provide a great support system. The food is excellent, with meals that are both healthy and actually taste good!
If you’re looking for a place that truly invests in your recovery, Harmony Grove Recovery is the real deal. They go above and beyond to set you up for lasting success.

What a wonderful place for recovery, felt welcomed from the get go, a beautiful and calming environment. The regiment laid out perfectly, and the education and information that was given was high caliber. I can only give 5 Stars if there were 6 it would be an easy choice. Admittedly, this is not my first experience in a recovery center. But, I'll say that Harmony Grove Recovery is head and shoulders above the rest.
I knew something was different during my first call to admit myself. To my surprise, the owner answered the phone (which I soon learned is common as she is very hands on and responsive) and very calmly and assuredly described the program and living situation which was to my liking. I've heard this before from other centers only to arrive in shock at how misinformed I had been by some sales representative in some other state. Not at HGR.
The moment I set foot in the "detox" facility, a lovely and spacious house in San Diego, I knew I could get used to this. I had my own room (everyone does) which was a particular I did not want to compromise on. I was greeted by the very capable case and house managers. Both of whom were warm and welcomed me without judgement or expectations. Just simply to use this initial time to settle in and "come to." It was comfortable to say the least.
The remainder of my 35 day stay was at the main house where, again, I was shown to my own private room. I can't stress enough how pleasant this was for me to enjoy my own space during this time for recovery. It was here we (the five of us) participated in group and individual sessions with both this house manager and counselor. The sessions were great.
I had planned to only stay for two weeks since there was a short relapse period between here and my last center. But, the level of care and interest shown by this house manager prompted me to extend my stay. She is interesting and warm yet fair and firm. She took the loneliness away by making feel like I wasn't a disaster and was right where I was supposed to be. She is great. I believe I made the right decision.
Somehow, HGR made a huge impact me. I can't say for certain how much, but I have more tools than I did before. And more importantly, I know believe in myself.
I'm extremely grateful to have landed here during my journey. Thank you, HGR!

I fortunately haven't gone inpatient since I was 5 months post partum and the death of my mother in the same two month period in 2016. There were several years while I lived in San Diego, where I was at Mesa Vista almost monthly. I live in Pennsylvania now, and my mental health is really going down here. I'm considering flying to San Diego for inpatient care. I'm trying to hold on until after the holidays.. I'm just barely holding it together so my husband who works in the airline industry doesn't get fired for needing to take off during the worst time of the year (the holidays) to care for our young children. I really hope I can for the sake of my family. I would never go inpatient out here! Sharp Mesa Vista is bar none the BEST inpatient psychiatric hospital I've been in and I'm 51, first hospitalized at age 13! That's a LONG time to have experienced. I'm sure half of the nurses have retired. And probably no hospital allows vaping..but if I have to go through nicotine withdrawal for my mental health, I will. I really am not understanding why all psychiatric hospitals are on this no vaping/cigarette kick..we have enough going on! This isn't towards this hospital..but it is about the system. It's really just to have this appearance of health...when it's really more of being control freaks and that's a shame. I'm sure there's a lot of people who just won't even consider help for this one reason. I think it's ridiculous. It's not prison, the mentally ill are not criminals (usually)!

I came to La Jolla Recovery during one of the hardest seasons of my life. I’d been dealing with a lot while trying to care for both my parents and my kids. What really helped was the outpatient option which let me keep some stability at home. The staff was mostly understanding and gave me space when I needed it. I do wish they had more language support or culturally aware groups. But overall I felt respected, safe and like I was finally getting real help.

I just wrapped up my stay at La Jolla Recovery, and there’s something I need to say straight up: this place didn’t just help me get sober — it woke something up in me. And that’s because of the people here. Shane, Sisqo, Matt, James, Blake, Derek, Miranda, Valerie, Veronica, and Lacy… you all changed my life in ways I’ll be carrying forever. Still wearing the only shoes I have that Francisco gave me lol
James — you played that TEDx video for me on one of the days I was at my lowest, and something in it cracked me open. It lit a fire. It reminded me that my story mattered, and it pushed me to finally finish my book. You’ll never know what that did for me. You gave me back something I thought I had lost.
Matt — you sat me down and showed me that AA Hallmark-style movie, but it wasn’t the movie that got me. It was the way you saw me. The way you believed I could get through the mess and come out the other side. You made healing feel possible again.
And Valerie… Miranda… Lacy… you three were mom to me through every emotional swing, every breakdown, every moment I questioned myself. I don’t have words big enough for the love you showed me. You didn’t treat me like a client — you treated me like someone worth nurturing. Someone worth protecting. I love you dearly for that.
Everyone here brings something different but needed: Shane’s grounded leadership, Sisqo’s energy, Veronica’s steady kindness. La Jolla Recovery doesn’t operate like a typical rehab — it feels like a safe landing. It feels like a place that believes in people before they believe in themselves.
I left with more than sobriety. I left with direction, confidence, and a sense of belonging I’d been missing for years. I fully expect La Jolla Recovery to become something massive — you can feel the foundation is built on real love, intention, and truth.
Thank you, all of you. Keep fighting for the addict who still suffers. You helped me remember who I am — and I’m grateful beyond words.

I spent 39 days at Aton and truly believe it changed my life. I have been to several centers and I made more progress here during my 39 days then I had spending 90 days at another highly regarded facility.
What made Aton special for me is the family feeling from the moment you walk into the door and that familiar feeling only grows the more time you spend here. Aton’s focus around mind body and soul is exactly as marketed between gourmet meals, daily holistic offerings, daily walks and gym.
The therapy is definitely next level. Having individual sessions once a day is life changing. I was amazed when they told me I could choose my team and in doing so I got the pleasure of being exposed to the entire team, appreciated each of their individual approaches, and ultimately got a team that fit my needs perfectly. Specifically I was allowed to do emdr for five days straight which has helped me tremendously.
Thank you to the entire team for helping me through the hardest time of my life without even feeling like it. To those reading these reviews or considering Aton consider yourself lucky as this is truly a special place

I am just so concerned about lead and the bad things it does when we eat it. I think we should make a law to only source our pencil ink (black) from Turkey there's no lead in the Haggis Sophia and they have buildings where it's accumulates and then they turn it into ink such a lovely none lead black ink out of Istanbul (Turkey) 🦃 or at least I wouldn't think it would but don't go around eating pencils or stabbing yourself with a pen idiot those German ones with the casing in plastic is how the hospital ones came in Niagara Falls that you couldn't hurt anything with it although probably not considered edible.

Del Mar, CA | Casa Palmera, in Del Mar, California, is a luxury, 12 ste-ofucsed drug and alcohol rehab for adults offering medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis care, and inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), sober living, and aftercare programming. Dedicated services are available for young adults, e | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I spent six weeks at Casa Palmera just recently. The whole staff was attentive to my needs no matter what hour of the day it was. I had an opportunity to get to the bottom of some of my personal issues and I learned a lot from other patients during group sessions. Everyone there seemed to have a lot more in common than was said and our connections we were making at the time I was there strengthened recovery. Casa Palmera was responsive to my inquiries and needs. I was inspired by the way their team creatively boosted group engagement.
The handling of contraband became a personal hassle I experienced, but every time I needed something from my contraband, the staff handled it professionally and mindfully. I am a tech savvy individual myself so I communicated that to staff and an arrangement was met to help accommodate that part of who I am. Things like that made me feel great about being there.
I really enjoyed the outing I went on to play kickball and drive alongside the beach. Holy smokes, I didn't think it was possible to come out of that six weeks with a new perspective on recovery, but it happened and I'm feeling much more motivated to continue. This felt like the acceleration I needed to have in my recovery to stay on the rails.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals there and have no complaints on that whatsoever. Coffee was always out when it was scheduled to be too.
Casa Palmera hit the ball out of the park the whole six weeks I was there and I'm pretty sure they will continue to do so. I have every confidence that the next patient going into their care will have a positive experience that they can recall on for a lifetime.
The whole staff are all great at what they do and love what they do, which is very important to me. I could also see that the whole staff holds themselves to a high standard and high level of discipline, which is what I want to continue to do for myself and family.
My mood swings were taken seriously and cared for appropriately. My medication was quickly adjusted to ensure that I was keeping on the right track as well. This made for a smooth transition back to my primary psych with Casa Palmera's updates to my medication.
The 24/7 approach to treatment enabled me to make up for lost time and I would go back again in a heartbeat if need be.
I highly recommend Casa Palmera to anyone that needs to be at a treatment center, no matter what stage of recovery you're in.
Many thanks,
Jacob L.

Casa Palmera did an exceptional job. The food was stellar, and they care about their patients. They teach us with the skills necessary to build the life we dream of all done in a supportive environment. They understand each patients individual needs and they have multiple tracks to their treatment approach. They treated me with respect. This is the place to go when you are needing to get back on your feet.

When I think back on my experience at Casa Palmera in Del Mar, I get a peaceful feeling because when I was there, I felt safe and cared for.
It is a wonderful treatment facility and the best thing I ever did for myself!
The facility itself is very peaceful with multiple courtyards, fountains, and a koi pond where we went to journal or meditate.
The staff members are outstanding.
Starting with the lead therapists, facilitators, and behavioral techs.. to the yoga teacher, housekeepers, and kitchen staff. I felt like everybody was so kind and compassionate. The therapists were top notch, where they really try to fit people with the a therapist to match their needs
Casa incorporates a variety of practices to benefit recovery. There are AA/CA/HA, meetings; Refuge Recovery, Trauma, therapy, music, therapy, meditation, yoga…
For special outings, there are beach days, hiking, horse, therapy, etc.
it may seems like a frivolous detail for some, but having three meals a day and snacks prepared for me every day, and having my laundry done for me so I could focus on my recovery was the icing on the cake.
I am a local, living in the area and there are so many of us in the recovery community who went there At various times, some people more than once; and we’re still like a big family Who love and support each other
There are going to be people who complain about it, but I think most of those people are the ones that were in there not of their own accord, and found fault with everything. It’s not a 5-star hotel, which some seem to expect when they come.
It’s a beautiful and loving recovery facility where they love you into health so you can leave there with the tools to start your lifetime of recovery. They give you the reins to take responsibility and take action for your own recovery when you leave.
