Entering treatment at New Start (Bangor) was one of the best decisions I ve ever made in my life!Everyone one on staff - from the drivers, yard crew, cleaning team, cooks, nurses, counselors, therapists, and management team are some of the most caring and competent people I ve ever met!Naturally, I was nervous to enter treatment (largely due to previous issues with the VA), but New Start helped restore my hope and completely exceeded my expectations!If you re a military veteran that s ready to find the purpose, direction, and motivation you need to make recovery a lifestyle, from one veteran to another, New Start is my first and best option for you.I m looking forward to coming back when I m 90 days sober to visit the New Start family as an Alumni in March.

I like this place. And all the staff. The counselor actually care and WANT to help you. I m not sure why it has 3 stars, because this is a location trying to help recoverin addicts like myself. Only down fall is the wait, for certain things, but thats only at the beginning when you register as a PT there because of all the paperwork and stuff you have to do. Also they provide lots of help. Counseling. Help getting a primary doctor. They care about you and your needs and I love that about them. They are awesome. 10/10

There is currently a really solid group of people at this clinic....from the counselors, to the nurses, and the management. Everyone is always friendly and that can be difficult at times when your work day starts at 5am. 2 people specifically really stand out and make this experience easier. Katrina (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) who works in the front, and Dan who works security. Katrina is hilarious and treats everyone with respect and doesn't make you feel bad about yourself. Sometimes is hard accepting the fact you have to be at a methadone clinic. But when the staff treats you so well and make you smile, it really helps. Dan is an amazing person as well. He has to deal with so many ridiculous people who act like children and yet he always has a positive attitude. I look forward to seeing him daily. I'm not sure how many of the staff at the clinic read these reviews...if any, but I would like to say thank you to all of them for making this journey a lot easier and on a daily basis I have positive, sometimes hilarious interactions and starting your day in a positive way really helps you throughout your day. I hope to join this staff as a counselor once I complete my recovery. I know I only mentioned 2 names, but thank you again to all of you. I'll throw one more name out there and a big thank you to Carl who is part of the management team. He's an extremely nice person and I feel, genuinely cares about the patients at this clinic. I was in the rehab back in 2012 and it was a shock at first when I was there because I was being defiant fighting it. But once you realize that they're actually really trying to help you and they care then it starts to work. After 7 months of being there I left and stayed sober for about 22 months. I relapsed because I went back into the same environment I came from I thought I could handle being around certain people in places but I was wrong. I have quit on and off since then sometimes 1 years sometimes 90 days. I am currently on day number 577 and I apply every single thing that I've learned in that rehab on a daily basis now so if I had to say anything about this place I would say that I learned a lot and if you go there pay attention listen to what they're saying it will help you in the long run with your sobriety. Don't be hard-headed and listen is my advice. And yes some of the staff there were not my favorite type of people I would hang out with, but they did the job and it helped me. So for that I'm grateful

I have had the joy of working with Erica & Pina who are the supervisors of the residents at this Teen Challenge center. As well as working with the women enrolled in the program. What a blessing they have been! They have learned to care and maintain gardens as I have worked with them and training them in the needed knowledge and skills. But, more importantly I have watched them blossom and become heathy joyful women as they go through the healing process of addiction. As the mother of a former addicted child, who went through 3 other forms of rehabilitation, and only became healed and healthy through a Christ centered program I am blessed to be a part of helping these women heal. This is also what Teen Challenge offers here. It is a blessing to the residents as well as those whom they are able to help in providing their gardening needs.

This clinic and staff saved my life. So much more of a personal experience than with or any other clinic. They truly care. I had to hitch hike from Chico everyday to get to ATS for treatment, and with there help we were able have the clinic use there own vehicle to go all the way to Oroville to pick up 6 patients at a time everyday there and back for treatment. Like I said that truly care.

Dr. Abouesh saved my life and continues to regulate my medication to keep me stable for going on ten years. While I was there I was treated with total respect and understanding. The staff seems to genuinely care about it's patients. Even the really loud ones or the ones I myself would have a hard time dealing with or listining to while doing paperwork. The facility itself is pretty nice. Memory foam beds I think and there is a door you can close. Two Tvs are available. One in the main day room or dining room and one in another room with books and magazines available. Both are Netflix and YouTube capable. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience there.

The Alano Club is where people meet to participate in a traditional AA 12 Step program. People mandated by Butte County courts to participate in AA can come to meetings here and get their logs validated. AA meets 7 days a week throughout the days and evenings. Those who work are able to easily participate in AA therapy due to the various meeting times. There's many dedicated men and women who have years of sobriety and who have worked the 12 Steps available here. They are available to provide sponsorship or just simple fellowship. I recommend the Alano Club AA program for people who desire sobriety. Recovery through AA is possible it takes working through the 12 Steps AND the understanding fellowship of the many sober men and women at the Alano Club. You can return to your friends and families alcohol free and have a happy and healthy life.
