I was in Michael's house back in 2015 and did a month there and they have a good staff , And I also ate good there, they have real good food, and the hikes were nice and then the trip to Laguna Beach on the last weekend that was awesome can't believe it's already been 10 years since then, I recommend this place It's a good facility 👍

I have struggled with alcohol abuse for the last three years and this was the ONE place out of 23 treatment centers that finally worked. Nobody ever thought they would see me sober, but today I can say I am, thanks to Sober Life. I was a frequent relapser, just barely making it by, and when I decided to seek treatment through Sober Life a whole new world opened for me. The team at Sober Life cares. I felt valued, I felt empowered, understood and heard. After being in and out of so many treatment centers I found myself fatigued, but through my process with Sober Life I actually wanted to continue my program as long as I could. I WANTED to be there and I've learned a life I never knew possible thanks to the team there. I can say that this program likely saved my life, and showed me a new life that I could never have imagined. The support and understanding was beyond belief. I felt so safe there. I've made friendships with a lot of my peers from groups as well. Which I never wanted to do before. Recovery can be difficult to begin, scary to start, but Sober Life feels SAFE. I'm not the type to write reviews, but I know how hard I struggled and for anyone reading this or questioning a start, I highly recommend this team. I am eternally grateful for my experience there.

Sober life has been one of the best experiences in my life! I came in not really sure what I wanted out of treatment and scared to really connect with people and have them see me in my weaker moments. All of the staff at sober life loved me through these issues and helped me get to a place where I felt safe and comfortable enough to communicate what was really going on with me, and gave me the tools I needed to be able to deal with things as they came up on a daily basis. Anytime I was a little off or lost any amount of momentum, they noticed immediately and did whatever they could to make sure I continued my progress and that even though addiction is a lonely disease, it became a lot easier to believe I wasnt alone and recovery is possible. It wasn't complicated at all, they handle the insurance stuff for you so you can focus and prioritize your recovery over anything else. Kimberly, Dan, Ashley, and Kelley have all been huge grounding stones in my recovery, showing up every time and helping me make solutions out of chaos. Having all of these amazing, kind, and extremely dependable people in my life has kept me steady and also taught me what having people around who genuinely love you, want the best for you, and who celebrate your achievements and help you through your downfalls looks like. Like any recovery program, you have to want it and put in your own effort, but they make the weight just lighter enough that it seems much more attainable.

I arrived at the Betty Ford Center with much trepidation. However, I was fortunate to be housed in Dupont Hall, where the 3 most amazing counselors are stationed. Jeff, with his hilarious way of relating and his enthusiastic sense of humor. Jaquie, With her analytical mind, intelligence, and encyclopedic knowledge. And Brian, with his love, care, nurturing compassion, and his treasure load of experience. The three of them are unparalleled, and unmatched.

I desperately needed to get sober & doing it on my own wasn’t working. I had no idea what to expect from this place. From my very first phone call, to the day I was discharged, the staff, nurses, techs & counselors were absolutely amazing & incredibly friendly & compassionate. The women I met and lived with at Fisher Hall surrounded me with nothing but love and support & for the first time, I didn’t feel alone in my disease. The property was beautiful, the food was good & I loved cruising the book store. The psychiatrist, Young, however, was the only disappointing part of my 28 day stay. His comment, “…in 20 years, if you live that long,” was hurtful, especially for someone so vulnerable & new to rehab and sobriety. He also made other upsetting comments to other women in my hall, but that is not my story to tell. Other than that, my stay was amazing & it gave me the tools I desperately needed. Overall I had an excellent experience at BF - the only negative comment I could make was the atmosphere in detox- I found the the environment to be dark and depressing, the rooms smelly and a rare and occasion condescending staff member - the minute I walked into DuPont Hall everything changed- I was fortunate to be surrounded by an incredibly supportive and communicative group of patients - I felt very fortunate to have been assigned Bryan Wilmoth as my counselor- he is exceptional at what he does - the small group gatherings were the highlight of my time here at BF - Bryan provides a safe environment that allows people to open up and express themselves in a non judgmental way - he provides levity when necessary and the written exercises were enlighten and productive- I can’t say enough good things about Bryan - last thing - the food was inconsistent and could certainly be better in my opinion - thx for the opportunity to review my experience at the BFC

I fortunately haven't gone inpatient since I was 5 months post partum and the death of my mother in the same two month period in 2016. There were several years while I lived in San Diego, where I was at Mesa Vista almost monthly. I live in Pennsylvania now, and my mental health is really going down here. I'm considering flying to San Diego for inpatient care. I'm trying to hold on until after the holidays.. I'm just barely holding it together so my husband who works in the airline industry doesn't get fired for needing to take off during the worst time of the year (the holidays) to care for our young children. I really hope I can for the sake of my family. I would never go inpatient out here! Sharp Mesa Vista is bar none the BEST inpatient psychiatric hospital I've been in and I'm 51, first hospitalized at age 13! That's a LONG time to have experienced. I'm sure half of the nurses have retired. And probably no hospital allows vaping..but if I have to go through nicotine withdrawal for my mental health, I will. I really am not understanding why all psychiatric hospitals are on this no vaping/cigarette kick..we have enough going on! This isn't towards this hospital..but it is about the system. It's really just to have this appearance of health...when it's really more of being control freaks and that's a shame. I'm sure there's a lot of people who just won't even consider help for this one reason. I think it's ridiculous. It's not prison, the mentally ill are not criminals (usually)!

I like to thank Pacific Bay recovery for helping my husband and treating him like family. The staff helped him every step of the way, we have tried several rehabilitation centers and none of them worked. My Husband has been through a lot was addicted to everything was a very agitated man and I am so thankful to have my husband back and it’s all because of this program. He stayed in the copper house for two months and he loved it so much. It was hard to bring him home. He chose his recovery center And he was there because he wanted to be there not because he wanted to be Not because he had to be there. He was not the easiest patient in the beginning, but he stuck it out because Made him feel comfortable as they treated him like family. His big guy there since January 5. And they have truly been a blessing to our family Him get through his addictions, his mental state, they have great counselors Psychiatrist they have been a blessing. My father has been attending this recovery place. Watching someone you love struggle is one of the most painful experiences life can offer. My father’s journey with addiction affected not only him, but our entire family. This rehab gave my dad a chance to step away from the chaos and begin to face the pain that fueled his addiction. This place has treated him greatly and I'll be forever grateful for what they have done. Since entering the program a few months ago, he has begun the hard work of healing. Bella monte is simply the best and I mean the best rehab I’ve ever attended. My 6th one. From the great staff (people just like me and you, addicts), from the different foods they provide. 3 hot meals a day. And u can make ur own food and munch thru out the day. To the rooms. Amazing clean private so comfy beds. Pillows suck tho. Ain’t gonna lie. It’s literally a 5 start resort rehab. The peace and tranquility it gives your mind is exactly what u need and crave for in the time after drug abuse. What you need to know about Ranch Creek Recovery: They accept health care insurance. Katie was great in helping me find the right healthcare provider and coordinating enrollment PRIOR TO ARRIVAL: coordinate which house you will be staying at (Bass or Dorrien), what day you'll be arriving, how you'll get to the program, pack a week worth of clothes including a bathing suit, books, booklight (if you plan to read, because all lightbulbs are the dimmest possible), and alarm clock (unless you like counselors walking into your space, waking you up randomly). UPON ARRIVAL: You will need to be dropped off (there is no personal parking or vehicle storage). You'll go through a search (appropriately, light pocket check and bags emptied) all electronics will be confiscated (headphones, phones, chargers, etc) and stored in a locked closet. Full inventory documented for all items. You will have up-to 3 days to DETOX as needed where you can sleep and rest privately. I personally got bored very fast and decided to join the group early rather than just sleep, but the option is available as needed. ONCE SETTLED IN: There is a 7 day blackout period where you are not allowed phone or computer use and can not have visitors or communicate with family/friends (emergency exceptions). There are typically 4 (one hour) group sessions daily, during which either worksheets are used from various therapy resources, or rehabilitation-related YouTube videos are shown. Counselors rotate based on internal scheduling. You'll have 1-2 private therapy sessions scheduled each week for one on one with Leena or Christine both are great to work with and talk to one on one. Meals are scheduled 3 times a day, residents are responsible for cooking their own meals and can "graze" in making snacks/meals as needed. DEPARTING: A close-out assessment will be completed prior to your scheduled last day with an emergency safety plan for sign off. A pick-up time will be scheduled, all itemized inventory reviewed with sign-off. an IOP Intensive Outpatient Program will be offered through RCR Ranch Creek Recovery and/or a plan for after care reviewed. NOTES: Phone use allowed 1 hour a day at night after dinner, following a 7 day blackout period. Group sessions can be "boring" lots of downtime, lots of staff turnover. There are two houses BASS & DORRIEN. Bass is the main property and where groups are held. Sleeps 6 residents. There are 3 private bedrooms each with a queen bed (one has it's own bathroom, the other 2 share a bathroom), and 1 oversized bedroom with 3 queen beds, another full bathroom by the living room. big screen smart tv, L-shaped old sofa [over-due to be replaced], matching captains chair with footrest [also ready to be replaced], eloquent dining room (dedicated as an art space), enormous dream kitchen with separate pantry room, food shopping is done once a week with a list (residents responsible to cook their own meals), Pool Table, Ping Pong,, Pool (ICE COLD), Jacuzzi (turned on Friday night only, no lights), garage with some gym equipment (you can use during free time), and a large sunny well maintained backyard is accessible. Dorrien is the "overflow" smaller secondary house about 10 minutes away. Also sleeps 6 total. 1 large bedroom with 3 beds, 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 1 master with a queen bed which shares a jack-and-jill bathroom. TV, living room, hot tub. DAILY ITENTERARY: This is where it gets a bit "grey space" .... There is a plan on paper (somewhere) and then there is reality. PAPER PLAN *I could be slightly off, as no schedule was provided wake up 7am-7:30am breakfast 8am-9am 9am-12pm & 1pm-5pm group lunch 12pm-1pm daily dinner 5pm-6pm daily free time 6pm-10pm Tuesday = Sound Therapy (AMAZING) Wednesday = Yoga (BEGINNER) Thursday = Fitness Training (NOPE) Friday = Educational Rehabilitation Movie & Horse Therapy Saturday = "outing activity" (NOPE) Sunday = Family visitation 12pm-4pm (last 2 weeks only) its helpful if youre looking to get clean. The property and people are nice overall.

Jeff is the man. …. Been there twice and it took traction during round two back on New Year’s Day 2021. Recovery and Rehab you can get whatever you want. Their curriculum at the Ranch is successful just like at different recovery treatment centers. So surrender and go with their program, or you can’t do anything and figure you “got this” or maybe do shady things even there. Your choice, surrender and take it in and try something new, or loiter with intent and see how it works out for you. First tried AA on 12-01-2007 but never surrendered ( figuring I got this) but when I gave up, surrendered, and wanted it no matter what, I finally got sober, do the math on my sobriety and waisted 13 years trying to do it my way. So in AA, or, NA you can do or get everything you want. I want to be sober and nothing else. I surrendered 100% 01-01-21. Thanks Mike and the rest of team and family from the Ranch for saving me. Their overall service is great. Their Doctors and technicians are very good. The audiology use to have a 2 hour open time to get adjustments, etc (Before Covid). that was stopped -now it is by appointment only and usually 1 to 2 months.

Great, new building with plenty of nice staff members. There is a free DVD and book area. They also offer free donuts and coffee. The lobby is very easy to get around.
