She was just released after 40 days at the facility. The reason for the 4 stars is for therapist Jen. We felt she understood us and was attentive. Just like anywhere else, some therapist have more experience than others. Sometimes there's miscommunication within admissions and treatment team. I felt disregarded at times, but like I said, that's everywhere. In my daughters case there was not much change in behavior. That's why it's not 5 stars. The only thing i didnt like about this place was the huge age differences. The place is 11-17 I believe and while i was there that made it very hard to have a normal environment. It caused a lot of peer issues but the program itself is great. My therapist was Greg and he made me feel 1000x better in my 6 week stay. The staff are so kind and they really show how much they care. I never had a bad experience with any of the adults there and that was really important for my recovery. Im really going to miss everyone i met, such as my therapist and staff, so much and im honestly super glad my parent’s sent me here. I was always treated with kindness and respect by my therapist and all of the wonderful counselors. I was a part of the smaller girls only group rather than the larger co-ed group and often times wished I was apart of the other group, but it really didn’t affect my treatment. I was able to have my dog with me they have meal times, ( you can not have your own food but they do have vending machines),group sessions and much more... This place is what you make it! They had movie nights and special activities for the women on holidays, at least that's how it was when I was there. It was a shelter for homeless women. Some of the staff was very helpful and some wasnt. You take what you can, give what you can then you will become all that you can. I left Foley house in 2019 to my own studio, where I lived with my husband 4 years. Until he passed. Still the discipline and self worth has stayed. I recently moved into a one bed room home, its hard work but no one is going to do it for me. Foley house provided what I needed it was up to me to use what I could to achieve my goals and I did today I am grateful that places like this exsist! Whenever I’m sick or not feeling well, they always step in right away and make sure I’m taken care of. It never feels like I’m just another patient to them. They genuinely check on me, help me through it, and make sure I’m as comfortable as possible. All of the nurses work together in such a kind and supportive way, and because of that, I always feel really welcomed when I walk in. Although a little apprehensive initially, I felt I had arrived at the right place. Having felt for so long that no one could possibly understand me or the complexities I had been dealing with, I was somewhat taken back by how quickly I’d be relieved of that burden and begin to build trust in the members of the staff. Speaking of which, each member of the staff always made me feel welcome, cared for, and that they were motivated to make my stay as comfortable and productive as possible.
