Olympia House is in Petaluma, California. It’s a residential and outpatient rehab for folks with alcohol and substance addictions. They’ll enroll you in detox, medication assisted treatment, and counseling, depending on your needs. Let’s start with detox. Medical detox consists of receiving meds to help make your withdrawal symptoms less seve
By far. the best (out of 7 total) rehab facilities I've ever been to. They actually do trauma therapy, and you get sessions with a licensed psychologist twice a week, in addition to your drug counselor. The very best therapists I have EVER worked with. And the best drug counselor I've ever had. I've been looking for therapy like this, and the answers I got at Olympia House, for 20 years. They are the most skilled, caring, and professional team of people I've ever worked with in mental health. I'm dual diagnosis, so I've been seeing professionals for my mental health for 25 years. Some of their curriculum is custom, developed in house by the psychologists there—you won't find tools like these anywhere else. I have a custom designed "addictive system" I use every day to track where I am in my recovery and mental health. I use this not only to prevent relapses, but correct myself if I run off course, and this works not just for substance relapses but also things like depression, anxiety, and anger. Their website doesn't reflect this, but they take Kaiser Permanente insurance now. That's the only reason I was able to come here. I know reviews are inflated on the Internet, but please trust me, I swear with every fiber of my being and every ounce of integrity I have, this is likely the best rehab in California. If you have trauma, and most people do, or some form of PTSD, this is the place you should go. They also focus on finding meaning and purpose in life--and they will definitely help you with that. They also allow you to come back to the rehab twice a year for 2-3 days for free! They call it a "tune up". No one else I know of does this. There's also free group therapy for alumni (a process group led by one of the therapists there) once a week via Zoom. I would wake up many times in OH in disbelief that this place exists at all, and that I got to be a resident here. They've made an enormous difference in the outcome of my life. ******ADDENDUM****** I recently read a review of OH where someone on the autism spectrum had a difficult experience. I'm sorry to hear that, but I simply wanted to say I'm (diagnosed) autistic (ASD 1/Aspergers) myself and felt that OH not only understood the strengths and limitations that can come with that, but also caused me to realize I had overestimated how different I was from my peers because of my autism. I still have it, of course, but the result of being at OH was a clearer picture of its actual impact in my life, particularly with peer relationships. I can't thank them enough for helping me with this, I have a much healthier social life today as a result.

First the facility and the land it's on is beyond beautiful. Couldn't ask for a better place to wake up everyday while recovering. Everyone that works for O.H genuinely cares. They make u feel like you unique and special. They offer soo many different activities and teach you so much about yourself and addiction. They give you the tools and resources for when you leave. They do not turn anyone away UNLESS you require more specialized care being that they are not a hospital with a doctor on site. By far the best rehab in northern California

Olympia House Rehabilitation in Petaluma, California saved my life as well as countless others! The intense inpatient program includes psychologists, counselors, process group meetings, group classes, one on one meetings as well as yoga, guided meditation, animal therapy, garden, therapy, art and music too. Olympia House is situated on quiet, peaceful, and safe, 100+ acre farm/ranch. The doctors, couselors, and staff all work to help identify the root cause of the core distortions that contribute to substance abuse. The focus of the residents mind, body, and spirit are all addressed. Additionally, there is a lifetime of free continuous care for the alumni that includes zoom process groups, AA/NA meetings, visits once a year for two days at the house. The alumni portion of treatment is all free of charge. I cannot say enough good things regarding Olympia House. I highly recommend this program. Thank you, Sherry P.

We're grateful to Muir Wood for having helped our family through a terrible crisis. While our son was there, the rest of the family slept easily knowing he was in the care of compassionate, expert staff. The doctors, therapists, and staff there are all excellent. They're experienced, and have seen it all. What a relief! The program my son participated in was comprehensive, from getting great nutrition from an on-site chef, to engaging in personal and group therapy, as well as attending outside meetings. Muir Wood returned him to improved physical and mental health, and he was able to take responsibility for and pride in his sobriety. The family program is excellent, including individual family therapy and multi-family group discussion. Through the expertise of the affiliated guest speakers at the group meetings, our whole family learned a lot about how to manage addiction of our roles. All of us, including our son, are stronger because of Muir Wood's program.

Muirwood is a cadillac facility in every way! I was impressed with every facet of the program, the facilities, the staff, the family resources, discharge resources etc. If one has to go through this nightmare experience of substance abuse and all that entails, this is a safe landing place for our sons and an invaluable resource for us as families, not only while our son is there in treatment, but in terms of being set up to move forward after treatment as well. I am forever grateful to Muirwood and so thankful my son was able to be there at such a critical time in his life!

The team at Muirwood is absolutely incredible! Their dedication, support, passion for helping teens and so much more, brought my boy back. They taught him things that I clearly wasn't able to. He learned coping skills and a good safety plan. He felt safe there and I just couldn't be more grateful for everyone there. They kept me informed every step of the way. If your teen is struggling and is needing help, I would absolutely suggest sending them to Muirwood. Incredible folks over there! My boy wants to be a counselor there when he's old enough so he can help others the way he was helped. Warms my heart!

Our child was at Muir Woods for 45 days. Although it was very difficult decision to place them there, it was necessary and I dont regret it. Dana H. was our therapist and she is a true professional. She helped our child to open up and start to get better and bigger person. Even our child said it was though to be at Muir Woods but he agreed it changed him for a better and he grew as a person and feels much better about himself and his future now. I am sure we did right decision to get oir child to Muir Woods.

I am so grateful that Muir Wood exists. We didn’t know where to send our kiddo to keep him safe; we were in a crisis, and this was the answer to our prayers. It was a safe place for him with people who cared about him. His therapist there, Lodi, was loving, kind, supportive, and non-judgmental. She taught all of us some good things. The Zoom parent sessions were also helpful when we could attend. The psych NP in charge of medications was not my favorite to work with, but she has since been replaced with a doctor, and I think her replacement is more helpful and knowledgeable. The evaluation and diagnosis my son received from Doctor Laska-Ruebusch while staying there has been life-changing and extremely helpful for getting my kid set up with a PHP therapy and school accommodations after discharge. I wish there were a section of the facility and program specifically geared toward kids who don’t have substance use issues, that is what I would change if I could. But I know resources are limited. Every time we went to visit our son for family sessions, I was charmed by the beautiful farmland surrounding the facility and the feeling of peace and quiet outdoors there. Again, I am so grateful there was a safe place we could send our sweet son when we had nowhere else. Thank you Muir Wood! Bless you for being a place that takes these boys at a difficult time when there is nowhere else to turn. We needed you. <3

When entering Heartwood, I was in bad shape. Physically and emotionally unstable. But after about day 3, I started having …. dare I say it…. fun (in detox!). I think the most important thing an addict can experience is having fun (while sober). The staff really knows their stuff, so you always feel safe. They also have an enthusiasm and sense of humor that is contagious. Mike and his team are deeply embedded in the sober community. This enables them to help with your sober journey post Heartwood. Therapists, sober living options or simply friends in the community are all available with their help. For friends, or family members, if ever needing this type of help, Heartwood would be my first call. They have my unqualified endorsement. Only one warning. Watch out for the food! The cooking is off the charts. Weight gain is a risk.😉

My loved one's sister recently attended Heartwood Detox in San Rafael, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. She was understandably scared and uncertain about taking this next step in her recovery journey, but from day one, the team at Heartwood welcomed her with open arms and made her feel supported, safe, and cared for. One thing that really stood out to us was that many of the staff members have been in her shoes and understand firsthand how scary it can be to take that first step toward recovery. Their personal experiences, combined with their compassion and encouragement, helped her feel comfortable and gave her hope that recovery was possible. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. Not only did she successfully begin her recovery, but she also experienced tremendous personal growth during her time there. Since completing the program, we've seen positive changes in every aspect of her life—from stronger family relationships to improved friendships and a more positive professional outlook. The staff was exceptional throughout the process. Everyone treated her with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for her well-being. A special thank you goes to Jesse, the owner, who truly stood out. Jesse's dedication, kindness, and hands-on involvement made a lasting impact on both her and our family. He was the star of the experience and played a huge role in helping her feel welcomed, supported, and confident in her recovery journey. It was clear that he genuinely cares about every person who walks through the doors. If you or a loved one are considering treatment, I would highly recommend Heartwood Detox. They provided the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to help start a new chapter in life.

I am a person that never ever gives reviews, however, I believe this one warns it. Going to a detox and a rehab is so hard scary and you are riddled with shame when I was at Heartwood and I finally was able to get the strength to eat, the first person that shared kindness, no judgment, no disrespect, and no shame was the Chef at Heartwood Novato. I don’t remember what his name is, but what I do remember is how he made me feel. I have been at rehab before and this time it was very different and I have been sober since this Chef has brown hair, kind eyes, and he would talk to me, and I saw him talk to all the clients and listen to them and hear their stories and make them feel so good about who they are as a human being not about the things that they have done. And I think this person really deserves to be lifted and raised up to the highest because that’s what he gave to me into the other clients that I got to see while I was there. I really think it’s important to recognize those that help light up our souls because that’s what we need in this world and so this recognition is to the Chef at Heartwood Novato to thank this person for lighting up my soul when it felt so dark, and it felt so judged, and it was riddled with shame it was you that fed me and it was you that helps me feel more human than anyone else has ever made me feel. Thank you for your delicious organic food and for the beautiful conversations that we had. You are a gift to the recovery world.

Bayside Marin truly changed my life. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, respected, and genuinely cared for. The staff goes above and beyond every single day, treating each person with compassion, professionalism, and encouragement. Their dedication to helping people recover is evident in everything they do. The facility itself is beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally well maintained. It creates a comfortable environment where you can focus entirely on healing and personal growth. Every aspect of the program is designed to support long-term recovery, and I always felt safe and supported throughout my stay. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was the quality of the food. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Having such great meals made a difficult journey much more comfortable. I am incredibly grateful to everyone at Bayside Marin for giving me the tools, support, and hope to build a better future. If you or someone you love is looking for a rehabilitation center that truly cares about its clients, I cannot recommend Bayside Marin highly enough. It is a life-changing place that gave me a second chance, and I will always be thankful.

I spent three months in Reflections' inpatient program followed by six months in their outpatient program, and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The level of professionalism, compassion, and clinical expertise provided by every member of the team is truly world-class. In my opinion, Reflections sets the gold standard for addiction treatment. If you fully commit to the program, embrace the guidance of the staff, and continue your recovery by participating in support groups such as AA or NA after treatment, I genuinely believe you will give yourself the greatest possible opportunity to achieve lasting sobriety. I arrived at Reflections completely broken by addiction. I left with something I had not felt in a very long time—hope. More importantly, I left with the strength, courage, confidence, and tools necessary to build a new life. Today, I have been sober from the hard drugs of my choice for many years, and there are no words that can adequately express my gratitude to the incredible team that helped make that possible. The accommodations are exceptional. The campus is peaceful, immaculate, and thoughtfully designed to promote healing. The residences are more luxurious than many five-star hotels, the meals are healthy and genuinely delicious, and every detail reflects a commitment to creating an environment where recovery can thrive. What impressed me most was how individualized the treatment is. Reflections understands that addiction affects people from every background. Whether someone arrives with nothing left or is a successful executive leading a major company, every client receives a personalized treatment plan tailored to their unique circumstances, challenges, and goals. During my time there, I met people from every walk of life, and every one of them was treated with the same dignity, respect, and unwavering support. Reflections didn't just help me stop using drugs—it gave me my life back. The program, the staff, and the community transformed my future in ways I never thought possible. While no treatment center can do the work for you, if you come with an open mind, trust the process, and are willing to follow their recommendations, I truly believe Reflections offers one of the greatest opportunities for lifelong recovery. If you are reading this because you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, please don't wait. Make the call. It could be the decision that changes—and even saves—a life. Reflections certainly changed mine, and for that I will be forever grateful.

I'm writing this review as a family member (not a patient) but I have only positive things to say about my entire experience with Reflections. Several months ago, my brother was in a very dangerous place in his life. It got to the point where we feared for his life on a weekly basis and knew we had to do something urgently. Our family staged an intervention and successfully got my brother to agree to inpatient treatment. After extensive research, I found that Reflections was our best option, and I believe choosing Reflections is a decision that may have saved his life. From the very first phone call I had with program director Olejan, I felt a level of genuine care, intelligence, nuance, and humanity that Olejan brought to our conversations. He wasn't trying to sell us the program or anything like that. We had heart-to-heart conversations that made me feel like Reflections would be our partner in my brother's recovery. I felt confident in the credentialed clinical team they have there with Dr. Hanna, and reassured that the level of care my brother would receive would be top-notch, with more one-to-one therapeutic care than what most inpatient treatment centers could offer in Los Angeles. My brother's main therapist at Reflections was Stewart Bryant, and they formed an amazing relationship that my brother cherished during his stay. Week by week I would check in with my brother while he was at Reflections, and just hearing him progressively become more clear-headed, alert, deeply reflecting, emotionally available and vulnerable and willing to speak about everything, working through foundational issues in his life, being more optimistic and committed to his sobriety - it was so profoundly encouraging to see the signs of his work at Reflections really taking root. To any family member reading this while desperately searching for the right place for someone you love: Reflections was an amazing option and I highly recommend you reach out and speak to Olejan who will wholeheartedly address any concerns you may have about Reflections being a good match for your family member in need of treatment. Thank you to the entire Reflections staff for giving my brother high-quality treatment. I am forever thankful to them for being that pivotal first step in my brother's road to full recovery!

After multiple behavior boot camp style programs, the incredible credentialed clinical staff helped my husband dig deep into the causes of his intense anxiety and control issues affecting our marriage particularly when he was self medicating to escape from the pain. We are so grateful to everyone at Reflections from the executive team to the support staff, each of them delivering compassionate and skilled guidance from intensive and individualized therapies to navigating the maze of insurance. Their inclusive family program literally got us working as a team once more.

Avery Lane saved my life. After a 60 day stay in residential and 6 weeks of IOP I am over 100 days clean and happier than I’ve ever been. The clinical staff is exceptional (shoutout to Chrissy). I felt safe and cared about throughout my journey. The houses are beautiful, clean, and the food is delicious. I especially appreciate the emphasis on trauma and dual diagnosis. This is the place to go if you’re interested in parts work or brain spotting.

Walking through the doors of this women’s rehab was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I came here for 30 days, and it completely changed the direction of my life. The staff genuinely cared about my recovery and created a safe, supportive environment where I could finally focus on healing. I learned so much about myself, I gained tools that I continue to use every day, and found hope when I wasn’t sure it existed. One of the greatest gifts this program gave me was the amazing women I met along the way. The friendships and support I found here reminded me that I wasn’t alone. Those connections have meant so much to my recovery. Since completing treatment, I’ve stayed clean, and because of that, so many incredible opportunities have opened up in my life. Recovery has given me a new outlook on life, one filled with gratitude, purpose, and possibilities I never thought I would have. If you’re considering treatment, know that asking for help can truly be the beginning of a completely different life. I’m forever grateful for the role this program played in my recovery.

I was a little surprised when the nurse asked about the purpose of my visit, since the appointment had been scheduled directly by the doctor. But these things happen, so I simply corrected her, and we got on the same page. The doctor, on the other hand, was extremely competent, and the appointment took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere. We received expert care and recommendations in no time, and we were both very satisfied with each other )))

This was my first time at the North Clinic. I have been to the South Clinic a few times. The clinics have a different feel. I have noticed at the South Clinic, some veterans hang out and can socialize with other veterans. One time I was there, there was a truck distributing food. At both clinics the people working there, were very nice and respectful. I was at the North clinic to see a cardio nurse practitioner. She was very thorough and caring with my issues. So far I have been very impressed with the quality of care I have been getting at both clinics.

I cannot say enough good things about Center Point DAAC. For years there were no services for men that wanted help with alcohol and substance abuse through MediCal in Sonoma county. Fortunately this is no longer the case. This facility opened in December 2024 and has helped many suffering from AUD and SUD already. It's a new and clean facility. Staff members are amazing, in particular my case manager. You can tell they are truly sincere in helping others find the path to sobriety. I finally feel hope again. If you or someone you know is in need of help please don't overlook this place. I would highly recommend it.

HI! "Recovery is no popularity contest". Let's get humble, and do whatever it takes to live in that humility. I was a case manager for both in-patient and out-patient. It was a joy helping others. What a person puts into their recovery is what they'll get. Campobello was a good recovery center. I am glad to see Camp is still around. There are alot of people and their families, who got their lives back on track there. Recovery is for those who want it . . DO YOU?

The clinic is amazing in regard to the friendliness of the staff and ease of access. I am, however, a bit disturbed by the Pride Flag (specifically the "Progress Flag") that is displayed in the main lobby. Personal feelings aside, this has no place in the display; it does not make sense. There's the US flag with all the branches of the military. Then......the Progress Flag. No POW flag, either. How is this Pride Flag equal to the branches of the military? It's not only unnacceptable, but it's out of place. It simply doesn't make sense. Could it be displayed elswhere? Another way?

I came here to this facility for the first time when I was 16. And then as an adult. The people I was with (as in other patients) have truly impacted my life. Every single person I have ever come across, please know your stories mean something. You continue to live on in others and to me that is magic. Even if under the worst circumstances, thank you for being so vulnerable and soft and kind. And to the facilitators, everyone one of you (except this one B, I can’t remember her name but she was literally so rude and her name did start with a B) thank you too. I forget his name, but there’s one Asian guy in there who does physical activity, thank you, even though I know you hated seeing me (and I’m sure many others) go back many times. I understand why you distanced yourself. And I get that now. Surprisingly it helped. Bc the look you gave me stuck with me and I never wanted to go back. It was almost sadness mixed with disappointment. I didn’t want to disappoint you again and I wanted to survive, again. So thank you. All of you.

Located in Santa Rosa, California, Azure Acres is a residential alcohol and drug rehab treatment center for adults. They offer detoxification services, residential treatment and aftercare services facilitated by an Azure Acres counselor. Detoxification at Azure Acres is medically managed by clinical staff and typically lasts about three to 10 days.
I wake up happy to drive to work at Azure Acres Recovery Center, and I leave each day with a deep sense that I have made a meaningful difference. As a therapist, this environment is both grounding and expansive. The collaboration with psychiatric, medical, case management, and behavioral health teams—including the CEO and especially our Clinical Director—is rooted in trust, grace, and the freedom to create programming that flows from your authentic clinical voice. What makes Azure Acres exceptional is its balance of soul and structure. You are supported to facilitate groups in your area of expertise, with a manageable caseload that honors the depth of individual care. The residential setting allows for something extraordinary—bearing witness to daily transformation within the therapeutic community, far beyond what weekly sessions in private practice can offer. We also hold a broader view. Our work is part of a larger ecosystem that includes corporate insight, insurance partnerships, the Department of Rehabilitation, and a new community-wide commitment to recovery and renewal. This convergence creates momentum for real change—inside and out. There is a strong culture of professional development, with continuing education in Brainspotting, ACT, DBT, and IFS, and mentorship that supports clinical and leadership growth. Azure Acres is not just a treatment center—it is a living community of compassion, integrity, and purpose.

This place is amazing if you're willing to stay clean. I've been to another clinic In town when I first moved to Santa Rosa from Oakland. The people at the first clinic I went to were very condescending and less than helpful. When I switched over to SRTP I have been treated respectfully by 99% of the staff. Switching clinics to this one was one of the better decisions I've made since I moved to Santa Rosa. My counselor is amazing and really cares about what's going on with me and tries to help me find solutions for problems when they arise in my personal life. The dosing nurses are all very helpful and polite. They're also very encouraging and good at their jobs. The other thing that really struck me about this place was there was one day where a lady fell asleep in her car out in the parking lot. People didn't know if she was overdosing or something and the way that the staff reacted to the situation and how they rushed to help this person even though they didn't end up needing help in the end.... It was impressive and possibly could have been life-saving. This clinic really does care about people and they treat everybody with dignity. Thank you SRTP. You guys have helped me save my own life.

I am so happy to say this place works if you’re willing to get clean. I wouldn’t be where I am today if wasn’t for the wonderful staff and counselors. This place can save your life from the mistakes we make. I seriously cannot begin to describe how happy I am with this place and how grateful I am. If you are really thinking about making a change in your life and stay away from addiction, then this is the place. Forget about any stigma and fears you may have, sobriety shouldn’t be stigmatized and to not be feared.
