This place feels very homey, but at the same time it’s definitely high-end and has a lot of amenities that I don’t think you’d find at many other inpatient rehabs, like a theater room, jacuzzi, gym, resources, beautiful rooms. It’s also really beautiful and peaceful here, which has helped a lot during this process. The group therapy sessions are very intimate, and the people in group are genuinely non-judgmental. I work with Kristine, who has been amazing. Just graduated IOP and i feel confident with getting out there and working on my sobriety personally. Dr. Smeester (“Dan”) is great. He has a very warm and gentle presence, and it’s clear that he really cares about helping people who are struggling with addiction. He doesn’t judge. he listens carefully and accommodates any extra need you need. I had a great experience, and learned a lot. They provide aftercare for all graduates no matter when they graduated. I personally continue to attend aftercare every Wednesday, free of charge. I had been with his wife Dr Gutierrez for years (she is also the best and a amazing Dr!! I began working with Dr Smeester and have been with him for a few years now. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). Dr. Kyle Moore is an excellent Dr. and person in general.Areka was the receptionist I believe. They encouraged me to remain clean and he even wrote a letter to the Judge for me to allow me 2 months to allow me to taper off before I went into custody. Great group of people and I like this clinic because of them and the medication isn't watered down! Despite this place being a small health clinic, the medical staff does step up with their professionalism. Supposedly, this place is meant for those who are looking to solve their addict problem. At the same time though, people can see a physician here for a physical check up. Truly appreciate their professionalism from the personnel returning phone calls when people leave them messages, to the personnel being able to give patients their diagnostic. I want to thank the staff at Palm for putting my recovery above everything. I had an insurance issue that I could see caused a lot of problems for the staff by the amount of time I spent with Jacky and the case manager in the office. J Ballard 1 month ago So, I just left Palm treatment/detox center and wanted to leave a review while it’s fresh in my mind. To begin, when I was first getting checked in, a girl was on her way out literally crying with gratitude for how much this place saved her life. You could tell how genuine and appreciative she was. Super heart warming, so that was a good start. Pros to going to Palm Ave: -The staff is great, they genuinely care and all are in recovery themselves so they’re very empathetic. -It’s small, so if you’re someone who is anxious or nervous, don’t be. If I had to guess I’d say they can only hold up to about 15-20 at most and that’s a huge positive when you’re not at your best at don’t want to be around a hundred other people. -Food was very clean, healthy, and always available. -Meds are all taken care of for you, they’ll even pick up your prescriptions and make sure you get them on time, even if you’re asleep, they’re on top of it. -There’s really only one mandatory meeting (NA/AA) but several groups which are optional that I found really helpful and well led. -They don’t press you on where or when you need to be somewhere like other treatment centers do. If you need to sleep- you can sleep. Special shout out to Christian (who helped with meds, he always has good music playing and just a very positive vibe). Also, Tree. I spent ten minutes talking to this man and gained more perspective than I have in probably the last three years. Heather also, very chill and easy to talk to. These people really care. They’ve completely turned their lives around and some have come from really difficult pasts. It’s inspiring to hear their stories. Not to turn this into a novel but I’m just really stoked places like this exist- and free no less with medi-cal. To finish, if you’re struggling at all, just go for a few days. I only stayed a few days bc I had previously detoxed in a hospital but some stay much longer- the choice is yours. Thank you to everyone at Palm Ave. I won’t forget it. Good Morning" or " Good Night" They actually take an interest in why your there and what they can do to make your stay as successful as possible. Classes are set up and offered throughout the day to ensure that you have some tools when you leave. There is medical on sight and a caseworker who jumps through hoops to make sure that each client has access to all the available resources in the county. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Overall, I had a very positive experience at MPI and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive environment to begin their recovery journey. Jessica B 1 month ago I was there a little more than 4 years ago. I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control.
