Poway, CA | Restore Detox Centers is located in Poway California and offers dedicated programs to adults struggling with substance abuse issues. Detox is the process of weaning the client off of the abused substance and removing the chemicals leaving | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My experience at Restore was genuinely meaningful. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect during a time I needed all three.
Everyone I interacted with made an effort to understand me as a person, not just someone going through a difficult chapter. I felt supported without feeling judged, and cared for without feeling like I had lost my independence. The environment was comfortable, private, and much more welcoming than I expected from a detox and recovery center.
The combination of care, structure, support, and genuine human connection gave me the space I needed to ground myself and think clearly about what I wanted to do moving forward. Restore and the people there had a real impact on me, and I left feeling stronger and more hopeful than when I walked through the doors.
I would absolutely recommend Restore. Asking for help can be one of the hardest decisions someone makes. I’m grateful Restore was there when I made mine.

So what do I say about Steven and Restore Detox Centers? When I entered through the doors of this facility, I was a completely defeated and tormented soul as a result of the ravages of addiction.
I had arrived at the end of myself!
All my own ideas about how to live my life had failed me, but THIS is precisely where the LIGHT stepped in and met me; in the total darkness of my own demolition, destruction, degeneration, degradation and demoralization.
I was hopeless!
I didn't believe that I could recover from this seemingly hopeless state of mind and body and like the song by America, "Lonely People" states, I believed that "life had passed me by."
Well, here I am some time later, and I can HONESTLY share with you, from the very Top of my heart, that my life is indescribably wonderful now.
My seconds and minutes and hours of each day were filled with torment and dread!
Now, they have been replaced with enthusiastically looking forward to seeing the wonderful friends that I have made, the smiles and hugs that I am greeted with, and the super cool testimonies that I get to continuosly hear!
I was asked to take some simple steps (12), not easy but simple, and I was told that I didn't even have to believe.
I just had to take these simple actions and they would result in an experience that would prove their effectiveness.
If you're in a place of abject bewilderment and confusion and you have come to the end of yourself, please know that a new You is waiting to emerge; a new, Regenerated, Rejuvenated, RESTORED, and Reconciled (to Self, Family, Friends and God) version of You is waiting to be born!
And an acutely wonderful place to begin this journey is with Steven and his kind, caring, warm and empathetic staff at Restore Detox Centers.
"Don't give up until you drink from the Silver cup and ride that Highway in the Sky!"
Let the journey begin!

When my son experienced a relapse, he was only at this facility for a couple of days, but those three days left a lasting impression on our family. From the very beginning, Steven treated both my son and us with genuine compassion, honesty, and respect. He didn't offer false promises or sugarcoat the challenges of recovery, but he also never lost sight of our son as a person who deserved hope and dignity. It was clear that he truly cared—not just about getting someone through detox, but about helping them find a path to lasting recovery. As a parent, feeling understood and supported during such a difficult time meant more than I can express. I am deeply grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and authentic concern we experienced. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where people are treated with both compassion and accountability.

The last day I jumped in the water, it was cloudy, I jumped from swinging bridge picnic area, I’m assuming it was at least 8ft tall from the river. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was a patient at Sharp Grossmont Hospital for almost two weeks, from the end of July 2025 through the beginning of August 2025. Despite everything I was going through, the care I received was outstanding.
The doctors, nurses, and every staff member I interacted with treated me with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. They always took the time to answer my questions, made sure I was comfortable, and truly cared about my recovery. The hospital itself was always very clean, and I noticed the staff constantly cleaning and sanitizing the rooms and common areas.
After my surgery, I spent about 24 hours in the ASU. The nurses there were absolutely amazing. I especially remember Nolan and the rest of the team. They were by my side the entire time, constantly checking on me, making sure I was comfortable, managing my pain, and helping me feel safe during one of the hardest moments of my life. Their kindness and compassion meant more to me than they will probably ever realize.
Because I was recovering from major lung surgery, I requested a larger room since my original room felt too small, especially when I had a few visitors. With my lung condition at the time, I felt like I needed more space. The staff accommodated my request, and I really appreciated their understanding.
After I was transferred, my wife found a louse on the guest sleeping bad while changing the sheets. It was definitely upsetting, but I don’t believe it reflected the hospital’s cleanliness. Throughout my stay, I saw the hospital staff cleaning and sanitizing everything every day, so I truly believe it was an isolated incident rather than a sanitation issue.
I also want to compliment the food service. For a hospital, the meals were surprisingly good, and the food service team did an excellent job throughout my stay.
Most importantly, I want to sincerely thank Dr. Ara S. Klijian, who performed my lung surgery. He did an incredible job. A year later, I feel normal again and have been able to get back to living my life. I will always be grateful for his skill, dedication, and the outstanding care he provided.
Overall, I gladly give Sharp Grossmont Hospital five stars. The compassion, professionalism, and quality of care I received made a very difficult time much easier, and I truly appreciate everyone who helped me through my recovery. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of me.

Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding.
Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators.
In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared.
Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer.
Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.)
I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion.
Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all.
At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

Health issues can strike quickly and from nowhere, they can linger and become chronic. Dr. Corbin has been my primary since I was reassigned to him years ago and the craziest thing happened— he listened to me. I am a frequent flyer of doctors for the last decade— and when you find a good one- you keep them on the roster. The entire squad at all the SYH locations are brilliant! Dr. Corbin and his team are my home team! Courteous, kind, and through the years some funny anecdotes. I could not be more grateful to Dr. Corbin, Taj, Yolanda, Maria, the front desk, the security guard— each a special character for helping navigate the tedious and painful journey to run smoothly, respectfully, and sprinkled with smiles. There is no better care you can find than with Dr. Corbin & CO. I am and will be forever in your debt. Thanks for hearing me, helping me— and laughing at my jokes. You have helped guide my mind, body, and soul through some epic crises and changes. And the work is not done- because all I am is a piece of work!
Thanks team!
Forever grateful,

There is no better dual diagnoses program than what is provided here. I turned to this vervet when I dig myself into bedrock and ready to drill even further. I had no hope for help, but so dying as I was, I gave life one more chance.
I was seen immediately and had a treatment plan developed that suited my needs and interests rather than some prescribed formula. The only challenge I faced was the motivation to show up. After a short amount of time, there was nowhere else I wanted to be than the clinic.
The sessions taught me how to develop emotional intelligence, get services I needed to thrive, and get my life where I wanted it. Working on myself became a wonderful and fun journey rather than just something to appease my family.
Over time, my mental health began to stabilize, I found sobriety, and I engaged with my spiritual parts. Today, I have been reintegrated with my wife, children, and employment. Everything I was willing to sacrifice for my selfishness became nothing compared to what I got from sobriety. I will forever be thankful for MHS. Without them, I would either be in jail, an institution, or a cemetery.

This is my primary care medicine home. I love the people here and I have been coming here for over ten years. The doctors and nurse practitioners are great and the nurses are very helpful. They have someone to do the lab work on site, so that is very helpful. You rarely have to wait long to be seen once you get there and they offer plenty of resources if you need them. Their referral department is fast and helpful as well. Over all I feel very fortunate to have them as my medical care facility.
