I remember going to the Phoenix house In 1998 in Carlsbad then they close that one down and they sent me up to Descanso, there were some good counselors they help me a lot with my alcohol problems and family I graduated the Phoenix house 2000 and I will always remember the The groups We would have one every week we will open up the group confront our problems.. it really sucks that they close that place down it was like nothing I ever seen, I grew up in the city so when they set me up there I was like wow!... that is the first place I ever seen snow it was a place where you can think, I have been clean and sober for 15 years, I thank the Phoenix house counselors and the tools they taught me thank you guys so much.

When I had no place to go, Restore was there to help me get my life back on track. They have an awesome and knowledgeable staff who understood what I was going through in Detox but also showed me a way of living, how to cope with everyday life and being around others without drinking. Educational groups, outside AA meetings in San Diego and regular fitness activities gave me a glimpse of life i wish to continue outside of discharging from Restore. Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding.
Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators.
In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared.
Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer.
Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.)
I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion.
Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all.
At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

My experience was life changing! Everyone at Paradise was caring, attentive and have first hand experience in addiction. I felt safe and at home. Groups helped me understand my addiction and have a great desire to be sober! The house was homey, clean and has a swimming pool! Food was terrific! But most of all the staff outstanding! Thank you Kellie, Carlin,James and Sawyer. Y’all made my time at Paradise meaningful and you helped me gain tools to continue in my sobriety! A special shout out to KELLIE. I was referred to Revive from Grossmont Medical to obtain continuity of care due to our rapid, out of state return to California. Traci, my provider was thorough and interested in taking a complete history. The patient navigator helped me with the paperwork and was welcoming and professional. The medical assistants were great--I shrunk 1/4 of an inch and have to lose ten pounds! The front desk manager had the whole process down and made it look easy. Which it is not. I go back in a week and am very grateful for the care and consideration I received.

There is no better dual diagnoses program than what is provided here. I turned to this vervet when I dig myself into bedrock and ready to drill even further. I had no hope for help, but so dying as I was, I gave life one more chance.
I was seen immediately and had a treatment plan developed that suited my needs and interests rather than some prescribed formula. The only challenge I faced was the motivation to show up. After a short amount of time, there was nowhere else I wanted to be than the clinic.
The sessions taught me how to develop emotional intelligence, get services I needed to thrive, and get my life where I wanted it. Working on myself became a wonderful and fun journey rather than just something to appease my family.
Over time, my mental health began to stabilize, I found sobriety, and I engaged with my spiritual parts. Today, I have been reintegrated with my wife, children, and employment. Everything I was willing to sacrifice for my selfishness became nothing compared to what I got from sobriety. I will forever be thankful for MHS. Without them, I would either be in jail, an institution, or a cemetery.

This is my primary care medicine home. I love the people here and I have been coming here for over ten years. The doctors and nurse practitioners are great and the nurses are very helpful. They have someone to do the lab work on site, so that is very helpful. You rarely have to wait long to be seen once you get there and they offer plenty of resources if you need them. Their referral department is fast and helpful as well. Over all I feel very fortunate to have them as my medical care facility.

If it wasn't for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. The road to sustainable recovery doesn’t stop when you coin out as a resident. Akua’s after care program aka “Akua Alumni” has played a pivotal role in my continued sobriety. The Thursday Akua Alumni 12 step meeting provides a home group meeting for me where I know I can listen, be heard or just because I’m broke and want free food cooked by chef Becca🤣. But seriously I’ve been through a lot of “changing of the guards” in terms of leadership for the alumni program. I love and appreciate everyone that has blessed us with their time, care and love (you know who you are) but today I can say that the culture and vibe with in-house peeps and alumni peeps is the strongest that I’ve seen. Big Thanks to Kersey for being an amazing coordinator that hired on during what I would call a rough patch. She has assembled and empowered key players (you know who you are) that have filled a void and a much needed heart beat to keep our meetings and activities fun, interesting and cost friendly if not free to our diverse Akua family. This alcohol detox San Diego substance abuse rehabilitation center saved my life. It was unlike the other California drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers that I attended prior. Their medical doctors provided me with a detailed treatment plan. This plan started at their alcohol detox centers San Diego then put me into their inpatient drug rehabs San Diego program. This is where their treatment process differed. They performed a dual diagnosis. This got to the root of my addiction. I had several co-occurring disorders that were left untreated by other addiction treatment centers. While in the residential inpatient program I had one on one meetings with their credentialed substance abuse counselors. These sessions were difficult but helped me address my addiction problems head on. I have been clean for 6 months and finally am getting my life back. Thank you, Harmony Grove Recovery.

Harmony Grove Recovery is the best alcohol rehab in San Diego hands down. Their alcohol detox San Diego program is medically supervised. They gave me medication assisted treatment that not only reduced the painful withdrawal that I usually experience, but they almost eliminated it. They were my first choice because I saw that they accepted most health insurances. The alcohol detox lasted 8 days. After completing that, I went to their residential inpatient drug rehabs San Diego program. I highly recommend this California drug and alcohol addiction treatment center.

I spent 39 days at Aton and truly believe it changed my life. I have been to several centers and I made more progress here during my 39 days then I had spending 90 days at another highly regarded facility.
What made Aton special for me is the family feeling from the moment you walk into the door and that familiar feeling only grows the more time you spend here. Aton’s focus around mind body and soul is exactly as marketed between gourmet meals, daily holistic offerings, daily walks and gym.
The therapy is definitely next level. Having individual sessions once a day is life changing. I was amazed when they told me I could choose my team and in doing so I got the pleasure of being exposed to the entire team, appreciated each of their individual approaches, and ultimately got a team that fit my needs perfectly. Specifically I was allowed to do emdr for five days straight which has helped me tremendously.
Thank you to the entire team for helping me through the hardest time of my life without even feeling like it. To those reading these reviews or considering Aton consider yourself lucky as this is truly a special place

I spent six weeks at Casa Palmera just recently. The whole staff was attentive to my needs no matter what hour of the day it was. I had an opportunity to get to the bottom of some of my personal issues and I learned a lot from other patients during group sessions. Everyone there seemed to have a lot more in common than was said and our connections we were making at the time I was there strengthened recovery. Casa Palmera was responsive to my inquiries and needs. I was inspired by the way their team creatively boosted group engagement.
The handling of contraband became a personal hassle I experienced, but every time I needed something from my contraband, the staff handled it professionally and mindfully. I am a tech savvy individual myself so I communicated that to staff and an arrangement was met to help accommodate that part of who I am. Things like that made me feel great about being there.
I really enjoyed the outing I went on to play kickball and drive alongside the beach. Holy smokes, I didn't think it was possible to come out of that six weeks with a new perspective on recovery, but it happened and I'm feeling much more motivated to continue. This felt like the acceleration I needed to have in my recovery to stay on the rails.
I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals there and have no complaints on that whatsoever. Coffee was always out when it was scheduled to be too.
Casa Palmera hit the ball out of the park the whole six weeks I was there and I'm pretty sure they will continue to do so. I have every confidence that the next patient going into their care will have a positive experience that they can recall on for a lifetime.
The whole staff are all great at what they do and love what they do, which is very important to me. I could also see that the whole staff holds themselves to a high standard and high level of discipline, which is what I want to continue to do for myself and family.
My mood swings were taken seriously and cared for appropriately. My medication was quickly adjusted to ensure that I was keeping on the right track as well. This made for a smooth transition back to my primary psych with Casa Palmera's updates to my medication.
The 24/7 approach to treatment enabled me to make up for lost time and I would go back again in a heartbeat if need be.
I highly recommend Casa Palmera to anyone that needs to be at a treatment center, no matter what stage of recovery you're in.

When I think back on my experience at Casa Palmera in Del Mar, I get a peaceful feeling because when I was there, I felt safe and cared for.
It is a wonderful treatment facility and the best thing I ever did for myself!
The facility itself is very peaceful with multiple courtyards, fountains, and a koi pond where we went to journal or meditate.
The staff members are outstanding.
Starting with the lead therapists, facilitators, and behavioral techs.. to the yoga teacher, housekeepers, and kitchen staff. I felt like everybody was so kind and compassionate. The therapists were top notch, where they really try to fit people with the a therapist to match their needs
Casa incorporates a variety of practices to benefit recovery. There are AA/CA/HA, meetings; Refuge Recovery, Trauma, therapy, music, therapy, meditation, yoga…
For special outings, there are beach days, hiking, horse, therapy, etc.
it may seems like a frivolous detail for some, but having three meals a day and snacks prepared for me every day, and having my laundry done for me so I could focus on my recovery was the icing on the cake.

There are going to be people who complain about it, but I think most of those people are the ones that were in there not of their own accord, and found fault with everything. It’s not a 5-star hotel, which some seem to expect when they come.
It’s a beautiful and loving recovery facility where they love you into health so you can leave there with the tools to start your lifetime of recovery. They give you the reins to take responsibility and take action for your own recovery when you leave.
