My first experience with anything drug related happened at age 58 when my husband decided to torpedo our life by smoking meth. Laguna View saved him from himself. He said the sounds of crashing waves from the porch gave him peace and helped him focus on what he had to do next. The staff was caring and the facility was very clean. He said they went to the beach, bowling and meetings several times a week. He highly recommends Laguna to others who need detox.

Withdrawals suck, but Oceanfront provided me with the correct medications to help me feel as comfortable as possible while I ease in. Additionally their staff is all well trained and knowledgeable. They keep you busy by taking you out to meetings daily, or other fun group activities. Thank you guys for everything, shouts out Mr. LFMT Kinoshita & Case Manager Cody. My experience at Oceanfront Recovery has been truly transformative. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a supportive and compassionate environment that has been both stimulating and engaging. The beautiful location provided a perfect backdrop for healing, and the holistic approach to recovery offered me countless opportunities for growth. The staff has been absolutely amazing; special thanks to Cody, Wyatt, Cassie, Madeline, Sean, and David, who have each played a pivotal role in my journey. A special thanks to my therapists and counselors for both group and one-on-one sessions, especially Ernesto and Matt – truly fantastic people. This has been a top-notch experience, one that I will treasure forever. I strongly encourage anyone looking to take the step toward becoming better to choose Oceanfront Recovery!

I cannot say enough good things about Windward Way! I had reached a point in my addiction where I was headed down a slippery slope toward losing it all. Through my higher power, my family was able to see I needed help and helped me get in touch with Windward Way. From the moment I walked into Campus to this very day, I have felt nothing but love and encouragement. I didn't know anything about Rehab or treatment centers, but from talking to others they can be vastly different. Many putting profits and business over people and healing. Not Windward. Every person who works there truly cares about you as a person and how they can best help you in your journey. I felt heard and cared for. My case worker Jeri is top notch. Helpful, knowledgeable and most of all loving. There are too many techs to mention by name but each one was on par. The groups led by the facilitators were so helpful. Each facilitator brought a different style. Ken and his love for the big book, Kelly and her love of teaching us through art and inner peace, Chad and his ability to tell a story or set up a learning environment that draws you in intellectually. Tony is exceptional in just chopping it up, but always ensuring we left with a valuable tool. Otis and his ability to understand everyone in the room even given our vast age differences. Gerald and his desire to keep us involved in after care. My house manager Monica for truly listening to each housemates concerns, and I cannot forget my therapist Christina for all the insight she gave me into why I am they way I am. And last but not least the drivers. They each had a way of just listening to our chatter and somehow still teaching us skills and showing us care. I could go on all day! Love you Windward!

I was accepted into this program during the worst time of my life, and they above and beyond to help me repair and regain things that had been lost in my addiction such as HOPE. I'm very grateful for the experience I had with these women and will forever miss them. Consider yourself very lucky to be a part of ATR as the women that go through this program come out on top. I witnessed this through my own experience as well as 6 others that graduated before and after myself! Sobriety is one thing, but having a new outlook on life as you once knew it is another! Eternally grateful to Amy, Becca, Becca White, Hillary, Tanya, Sierra, Ariel, and last but not least MARKIE! I can't thank New Directions for Women enough for the care they provided my sister during her battle with heroin addiction. From the first phone call we made, they met us with kindness and compassion, at a time when we had quite honestly lost all hope. Their focus on family involvement was pivotal, offering us support and guidance to heal together. The community atmosphere helped my sister to confront her challenges and embrace lasting change. Our daughter entered Visions at 16, and it was one of the best decisions we ever made. From the very beginning, the care, structure, and support she received were outstanding. The staff are not only highly trained professionals, but genuinely compassionate people who truly understood the challenges teens and their families face. The programming was incredibly well rounded, from different therapy modalities to engaging activities that kept her motivated and involved. Family therapy was a cornerstone of the experience for us; it helped rebuild trust and communication in ways we never expected. We were reassured by how much attention was given to creating a safe, comfortable environment where our daughter could focus on healing. The on-site school was excellent and kept her on track academically, which made her transition back home much smoother. Today, our daughter is 3.5 years sober, thriving in her life, and continues to build on the foundation that was laid during her time in treatment. We are forever grateful for the role Visions played in her recovery and in our family’s healing.

I randomly thought of googling Visions today and was excited to see the support for the many one star reviews. I would like to give my own, honest review as a former illegal detainee at Visions Malibu. I was sent there because of declining grades during second semester of my senior year in high school, which my parents attributed to weed. Amanda and Chris, if you read this, know that I understand why you do what you do, but that you two directly caused irrevocable harm to my and my parents’ lives. The same can be said by many from my cohort I still keep in touch with. I have succeeded *despite* crossing paths with your business, not because of it. As for the “miracles” I see on the walls in Visions HQ and in these reviews: I did not see these while I was there except maybe in the desperate behavioral changes detainees acted on in hopes to be sent home earlier. Let’s talk about the hidden dehumanization they perform on you at Visions that they don’t discuss on their websites. Don’t be fooled by the scenery, it’s essentially a white collar prison. It has strip searches, room tear-downs, abusive young staff on power trips, strict schedules with punishment for noncompliance, gaslighting from owners and “professional staff” even when I reported inappropriate or illegal behaviors to them, and the list goes on. You cannot leave any room without an escort, though doors are (rarely) locked due to fire hazards. Two girls tried to run and they brought in rescue helicopters, charged the parents for the fee despite not finding them, and the girls almost died from exposure before they were taken to a hospital by a local. They take away your shoes if they’re worried you’ll run. They can take away whatever they want to break you into compliance with their program. Most damaging of all, Visions focuses on retraining adolescents to be LESS independent and more dependent on their parents and a prison-like structure (which we all know works well in our prison systems). These facilities make a lot of money for the owners, so “recommending” parents that their child needs it isn’t anything but a scam. Recently, Paris Hilton and others have been championing awareness in congressional hearings about the unconstitutional and abusive behaviors that go on at these centers. I root for them. I would never send my child to wilderness, county health, or Visions unless a jury required it. It is not a bandaid for parental negligence. You may laugh and say how good I had it at a ritzy mansion in Malibu with personal chefs. (At least it seems grand from my more modest upbringing.) Let’s be clear: I was kidnapped in the middle of the night and held involuntarily for months. I was a month away from graduating with a college admission to the University of California. This acceptance was rescinded due to the inability for the Visions school program to fulfill a final grade in my senior classes. To this day, I have never seen some of my classmates from back home ever again, and I did not get to graduate and celebrate with my friends and lifelong colleagues. Every day I prayed I’d get to leave. I still daydream about all the chances I could have ran and gotten help from a bystander. My parents fought for over a year with insurance to cover a portion of Visions, as the insurance deemed it non-medical and unnecessary. It hurt our family financially and my parents have openly apologized for their decision to send me here. We have grown closer despite Visions, not because of it. Oh and that addiction I had? I never had one. Visions doesn’t care!

My mom went to cornerstone to get sober and better herself 8 years ago, and now I am here and have nothing but the utmost respect for all of the staff that helped me get to where I am today. I truly could not have made it this far and could not have been as confident as I am currently in myself and my recovery if it weren't for the time and dedication in which they put in to ensure my stay here went as smooth as possible. The assignments they give are all engaging and make you dive deep interpersonally, spiritually, mentally, and the like to emphasize what you need to grow and work on during your journey to sobriety, and for that I am so thankful. It is a shame to see this place go as Dr. Stone enters his well-deserved retirement, but I am honored to be one of the final clients to have came through this wonder rehabilitation center, I truly feel I have found a community where I belong!

I was sentenced to spend 6 months at Cornerstone from 2/2018-8/2018 and have remained clean since. During my time there, Dr. Stephanie Herring provided invaluable support during one of the hardest times of my life. I greatly appreciate the support I experienced during my time at Cornerstone. I was given the opportunity to figure out how recovery works for me and am happy with my life.

Choosing Casa Recovery was truly the best decision I have ever made. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. The staff go above and beyond in every possible way — their compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail are unmatched. They truly see each client as an individual and tailor their approach to meet your unique needs. The level of care here is exceptional. Every therapist, case manager, and support team member works together to create an environment that feels safe, encouraging, and filled with hope. The program is thoughtfully structured, balancing therapy, education, and holistic wellness in a way that promotes real, lasting change. What stood out most to me was the sense of community — not just from the staff, but from the other clients as well. Everyone is on their own journey, yet the support and understanding that flow through this place make healing feel possible and real. Casa Recovery doesn’t just help you get better — they help you rediscover yourself. I am deeply grateful for my time here and for the people who made such a positive impact on my life. Thank god for the Lighthouse!! This place is amazing, I went there and they took me to Alcoholics Anonymous, which gave me a solution to allow me to become an active and productive member of my family and society. I did everything that was suggested like going to sober living getting a sponsor and working steps. They have an amazing Alumni program with Heidi as the coordinator. The alumni program helped me tremendously I learned accountability by taking commitments at meetings, learned how to have fun sober, and use normal coping skills instead of using or drinking. I am super grateful for this place the staff really cares and anyone that’s willing to put in the work to recover will find the help they need at the lighthouse!

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Able 2 Change for their exceptional support in assisting those battling addiction and mental health challenges. I recently had the privilege of collaborating with them to guide a family member toward treatment. The admission process was both thorough and efficient. The clinical team established a meaningful connection, significantly impacting my cousin's recovery journey. Additionally, the family program provided invaluable education for our family. The alumni support has helped my cousin feel embraced while reintegrating into the community.

This facility exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff is incredibly caring and dedicated, and the doctors and facilitators are both friendly and knowledgeable. The food was genuinely great, which made such a difference day to day. I also loved the outings—beach trips, movies, bowling, and more—that brought fun and balance into the healing process.
