I would highly recommend Right Path Recovery to my family, friends, and anyone desiring to get sober and drug free. I have relapsed several times in the past before I went to Right Path and have been in other inpatient rehab treatment centers. My experience with Right Path Recovery has changed my life. The education and 12 step focus along with the skilled and caring staff, small group setting and accountability has made a huge difference. For the first time I am able to live a sober life that I enjoy and I am growing in personal areas so much that my family and friends have noticed a huge positive change in me that is allowing me to repair broken relationships. The setting San Diego is beautiful which was a definite plus while I was going through my healing process. Right Path set me up for success when I left and they have an alumni program for months check ins. Please if you or a loved one is suffering from the disease of addiction, please contact Right Path Recovery today, if they are able unable to help you, they can help you find a place that can. Help is out there if you seek it and there is a life worth living on the other side.

This was my first time getting sober, and after battling a 7-year addiction, I was ready for a change—but I had no idea what to expect from a treatment center. I was scared and unsure. From the moment I arrived at Soledad House, the staff welcomed me with warmth and compassion. On my first day, the administration helped calm my fears and made me feel safe and supported enough to begin my recovery journey.
What truly sets Soledad House apart is that they don’t just focus on substance abuse—they focus on rebuilding self-worth, which was something I didn’t even realize I needed. The care here is deeply personal and intentional.
Today, I’m 9 months sober and proud to be an employee at Soledad House. I’ve learned to love myself again and have gained valuable tools for how to navigate life and handle challenges in a healthy way.
The therapists and staff—especially Lauren, Sara, Ashlee, Neetra, and Michelle—are truly a godsend. They genuinely care, and it shows in everything they do. I can’t say enough good things about Soledad House—it changed my life

This place is predatory, as in they are money hungry and prey on addicts under the guise of helping them. They are only friendly to you when you are paying them; anytime after that, they will treat you with disrespect and intimidation. They use outdated statistical information and attempt to brainwash you into being dependent on them. While there is a lot of useful information and services they can direct you toward, this third party company is only interested in taking your money and treating you as less-than-human.
In my experience, Dale Walters, the in-take coordinator and class teacher, was only friendly toward me when I was paying him money for the program. Afterward, he treated me with disrespect by insulting me in front of the rest of the class, talking to me as if I were five years old and consistently disregarding my personal space by knocking over my water bottle and saying, "oh, I don't care about anything beneath my knees." This has been my experience and I hope it helps shed light on the poor practices of this company and its employees.

My job kind of during seemed me into going to get help, though honestly I had spoken to my supervisor in the hope to seek help, though mentioning thoughts of self harm get you instantly taken to help. Not the best beginning. Anyways, the intake process was scary. Due to lack of space I was in the "intense" area of the facility for a night. That was the toughest night I've had. Either way the doctor didn't think I needed to be there, had me go into the outpatient group/program. It was really good. So this is mostly what I'm focusing on. The group was nice, inviting and really helped me think and learn of tools to use to better manage my anxiety and depression. I learned that neither are bad in a sense, a part of human nature, and generally that rather than fighting the feelings, to her understand them. I won't say it's a magic solution, it took a lot out of me, but in the end I certainly know I'm doing better. Even slowly working my way off my medicine and better noticing the signs of potential episodes or anxiety attacks. I really liked the outpatient program. Better than the years of one in one therapy I had through my usual medical provider.

Turning Point helped me out in a big way. It was February, it was raining and cold. I was staring at a six-week waiting list to get into residential SUD treatment and being on the streets. Turning Point gave me shelter, food, counseling, my medication and a phone to use to call the rehab every day and move up the waiting list. They kept me until I got in to Pathfinders. I have had such a torrid tumultuous yet serene and beautiful romance with Green Oak Ranch. I graduated the program in 2010 and I loved it so much I went back and graduated again. Lol. I really do love the place, but I went back because I had walked out of the gates the first time I graduated and I left my relationship with God and my support group behind. I just wasn't done yet. Fortunately, I didn't die while adding more horrible experiences to my testimony.
I knew I needed to go back because I truly met Jesus while I was there. I experienced REAL Christian fellowship with beautiful peopls who shared similar struggles as mine. I hear all the stories about how the staff developed issues in recent years. But, I can only attest to what I experienced while I was there. I believe that God handpicked each and every staff member while I was there. Beautiful souls who "figured it out". They devoted their lives to helping point others to Christ. They gave up lucrative careers to fulfill the purpose that God had for their lives. I didn't always get along with the staff (go figure a recovering addict who doesn't always jive with authority, hahaha)
It was thru all of the people that I was blessed to cross paths with while I was in the program that I got a taste of what true joy was. For the first time in my life I had a peace that I could never do justice to by trying to put it into words.
But, even after experiencing that I made the choice to go and "return to my own vomit" as scripture says. After running amuck for several months my health began to decline. But, not my physical health. My mental health had been truly tested and I was for the first time in my life failing that test. My pride wouldn't allow me to call Mary or Carl Fielstra (love you both..RIP Carl). My confidence was non-existent, I had no relationship with God. I told myself that God wouldn't want me back anyways. I was hopeless and I planned to take my life. I went to the store to get some things that I needed to make that happen. While heading out of the the Big 5 with a box of .38 caliber rounds I headed towards my car. I noticed my shoelace was untied ao I bent down to tie it. While I was crouched i heard footsteps and before i could even look up I saw a pair of Lugz Boots that I recognized without hesitation. I stood up and there was Green Oak Staff Member and "Triple OG" Carlos Atkinson (alright....alright). He and I had become close during my previous time at the Ranch. He didn't say a thing and neither did I for a few minutes. I hid the box of ammo behind my back. Carlos looked me in the eyes and said "Gabe we gonna get you some help ok?" And I threw my arms around him cuz I had wanted help for a while but my pride kept me from asking. 3 weeks later I entered residential treatment at Green Oak for the last time.
Sorry for the novel. But, that is what Green Oak once was. People have their reason for why they love Green Oak Ranch. They have many reasonswhy they go camping there every year or why they volunteer there on Thanksgiving. Or, like me, they have reasons why they knew they needed to "come home" again.
I'm sure there are countless reasons why people fell in love with the Ranch. Those are icing on the cake. The real reason people go back for any reason is because they saw Jesus at the Ranch.
It's hard seeing the place change. Pretty soon the Ranch won't be the Ranch. I pray for Solutions for Change that the land will be used to help the widows and orphans.
Yep, the Ranch is for the most part now just a memory. I'm gonna throw this out there. There are plenty of places with land. I pray for the funds and the right people to step up. Maybe Green Oak Ranch hasn't seen its last hurrah? Maybe God just wants to find a different venue.
He who has ears....
Oh by the way..... after Carlos let go of hugging me he Snatched the box of bullets I hid behind my back and he said, "Gimme the receipt".
He smacked me on the back of my head and said "you better get up outta here before I show you how we do in "Detroit". Haha.

I was kinda scared when I was referred here because there were few reviews and most of them were a negative light cast upon this place. I called, and that kinda only further poured in more fear because the lady on the phone wasn't rude but just sort of curt. But I went in spite of it all and tonight (after nine days of being a patient here) I can say that I have never made a decision this good in my life.
Intake for new patients is only weekdays from 9 to 12. From the very second I walked up the sidewalk leading to the building itself, I was greeted by a couple of the other patients. I got to the front door unsure if this was the right place and having a second mind, but the security guard (who I now am lucky enough to have an amazing acquaintanceship with) walked up to me, told me it's okay and asked if I was looking for the clinic. I told him yeah if this is the detox place. He walked me up to the front desk and talked to the check-in lady for me. He wished me luck and returned outside.
All of the receptionists I've come across here are really nice (once you've been here four times, they actually take the time to learn your name and put it to your face the minute you walk in.) My first counselor was just the sweetest woman who made me feel infinitely less scared about being here, as is my second counselor who is also so encouraging. I'm so grateful for how well my counselors are able to educate me on this entire process and journey;they're so amazingly good at putting my fears and lingering apprehensions to rest. Their LCSW is a very professional woman and has such a calming demeanor. The guys who took my vitals were really easy to get along with and made all the intake questions clear to understand; it's always nice to run into them when I'm passing through. The doctor was a really knowledgeable man who was polite and thorough, and he got to me in a super timely manner on both occasions that I've seen or needed review from him. The counselors who lead my group are just so caring and kind, and they've made me stop hating therapy/counseling which is something no therapist has ever been able to do. All of the people who dispense the medication are nice enough to listen to your concerns and offer solid advice. Some of them learn you by last name as well.
The only thing that I absolutely hate about this place is how rude some of the other patients are when it comes to using the bathroom; you can hardly do a UA in peace without someone banging/hard knocking and freaking shouting at you through the door and it's usually a man which is just wrongfully frightening for me. I hate that there's only two bathrooms but the real issue is the lack of decency and patience exhibited by those few patients. For the most part though, majority of the other patients are friendly, kind and sociable, and that helps to make coming here every day a lot easier. All in all, I'm so happy I didn't let the bad reviews stop me from finding the great help I had long cried for. Even when I move to a different area, I still plan to continue here because I don't think I'll find a place I feel more at home at than here.

Outstanding Care and Support at New Vistas Crisis House
I’ve been at New Vistas Crisis House for 11 days, and I can honestly say it has been a life-changing experience. The level of care and support they provide is beyond anything I’ve received elsewhere. From psychotherapy to psychotropic therapy, the mental health services here are top-notch, helping me regain stability and hope.
What truly sets New Vistas apart is its compassionate and dedicated staff. The nursing team—Lulu, Kate, and Hillary—deserve a special shoutout for their kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support. They go above and beyond to make sure every individual feels heard and cared for.
Daily group activities (three times a day!) provide a structured and encouraging environment for growth, healing, and connection. The entire team fosters a sense of community that makes the recovery process feel less isolating.
One of the most incredible aspects of my stay was the help I received in acquiring housing—something I never expected but am deeply grateful for. New Vistas truly cares about long-term success, not just short-term stabilization.
If you or a loved one ever need a place that prioritizes mental health, stability, and genuine care, I cannot recommend New Vistas Crisis House enough. Thank you to everyone who has made this experience so impactful!
