I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for New Dawn. They truly helped save my life. Thanks to this amazing treatment center, I’ve been in recovery for over three years now.
This location is absolutely beautiful and feels luxurious! I was a client at the Fair Oaks location, but at the time the Loomis location (this location) was co-ed, and we often got to come here for group sessions, acupuncture, nutrition classes, and even to swim in their beautiful pool. The staff was always extremely welcoming, compassionate, and knowledgeable. You could feel that they genuinely cared about us clients, our long-term recovery, and our experience while we were under their care, no matter which site we were at.
The combination of individual therapy and counseling, group sessions, and experiential activities creates an environment where real change is possible while also allowing clients to enjoy the comfort and luxury of the facility, which makes being away from home a little easier. I would 100% recommend New Dawn to anyone who wants to grow, heal, and rebuild their life.

Can’t say enough positive things about about New Dawn and their staff here at the OV location! I entered having no idea what my experience would be like and thought i was going to want to leave very soon after arriving but i had the complete opposite feeling. When my 30 days was up i was sad i had to leave and could have easily stayed for another 30 days. Highly recommend this place is you truly want to make a difference in your life.

I didn't know what to expect when I came here and was very worried I wouldn't like it. After the first day I couldn't believe how helpful and friendly the staff were. I I very quickly realized I was going to learn a lot and meet some great people and that is exactly how it has played out. The counselors are absolutely amazing and I have learned more about addiction, behavioral therapy, anger management, the science of cravings and the science of addiction than I could have ever imagined. I thought I knew a lot because Ive been to a bunch of AA meetings. Boy was I wrong. The counselors have been absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful. They have personal experience and are very easy to relate to. The food is fantastic, the other clients in the house have become great friends, and I feel like these last 30 days has completely changed me into the person I was before I came here and has given me the tools to continue to live a healthy life after I leave. I feel like I got my life back. I love that they take us to the gym and keep us busy all day with groups and physical activity, serve us healthy delicious food, and took us to an Alpaca Farm which was sooooo much fun! Yoga Kelly, the massages, and the acupuncture were very helpful. I highly recommend New Dawn to anyone that is considering rehab. I didn't want to come here 30 days ago and now I don't want to leave! Do yourself a favor, even though it may feel like "I can't go to rehab now, I have too much going on!" You can and your life and your relationships with your family and friends will be so much better if you do. The owner and the staff truly care which is not something you see in every rehab.

I have been a patient at Aegis Roseville for several years now and I feel the very best part of the treatment center is the counselors. I have had a few long term counselors (including my current counselor Terri💕) that were wonderful and so helpful and I looked forward to our session every week.
There are also some staff members that have been with Aegis since before I started as a patient that are also great and helpful such as Tammy (love her). Rifka and Katie are also favorites. Those people work very hard and it shows!
There is however a high turnover rate with the front desk staff and medical assistants and I feel that this leads to miscommunication and inconsistentcy regarding rules and policies which winds up causing issues for the patients because getting the correct information you are after isn't easy. You'll get a different answer from everyone you talk to. Similarly the nurses are all trained differently on procedures such as UA's and bottle checks for example.
Each and every staff member does these things completely differently and that means that things can be overlooked for one patient and then not for another. Rules, procedures, and information should be the same for every patient.
Otherwise I have no complaints regarding rules and consequences at Aegis because they seem necessary and the consequences seem fair and they are in place for good reasons. In some of the other reviews as well as people complaining in the waiting room at Aegis there are a lot of people crying about consequences that they face and yes it can very possibly be because of miscommunication but it's also from people not following rules and then playing the ignorance card. It is not hard to follow the rules. But if you fail a UA or miss counseling or show up late you have to be ready to have take homes restricted or be put on a hold. That should be expected. Although maybe it isn't fair to be on a hold every day until your session is made up...if another counselor isn't available that's not the patients fault. If the session is rescheduled that should be enough in my opinion. Life happens for everyone and having a family and a job can really make it hard to make up counseling sessions especially having to be on an hour long hold every single day til it's made up!!
However the other main complaint that I have would be that Aegis and certain staff are terrible about culpability and consistency.
In the past when me or my partner have had an issue with take homes or UA's or missed sessions etc the staff bent over backward to find a way to always make it the patient's fault even when I could prove that it was a mistake made by Aegis. It is ALWAYS the fault of the patient no matter who's actually at fault.
I do feel the majority of the staff at Aegis are genuinely trying to help the patients and make life easier for them which is great and appreciated. If it weren't for places like Aegis life would be 100 times harder for me regarding my recovery. So I thank all the people making this possible for us and also the people paying attention to these reviews trying to make a difference for the patients.

Aegis Treatment Center has wonderful staff! I worked a couple of months here, it was an experience I am appreciative of. For teens and young adults struggling with substance issues, The Pathway Program made all the difference. The program focuses on enthusiast sobriety and teaches kids that life can be fun and fulfilling when you are working together on the 12 Steps. The staff are some of the best people we have ever worked with and we have tried a lot of mental health and substance programs in the past. This program saved our son’s life and the parent support has taught us so much about raising a teen to become a responsible adult and how to deal with substance use in a healthy way. People drive from all over the area to join the group and it’s no surprise, there is no where else with this type of support.

The Pathway Program saved my daughter's life. She was completely out of control and abusing drugs and alcohol. She was getting in trouble and hanging out with the wrong crowd.
The first time I brought her to the shop, all of the counselors and kids welcomed her with open arms. She instantly had clean and sober friends her age that she could relate to and have fun with. The kids hold each other accountable and are a huge support to each other. They are together almost every day and provide the vital friendship needed to succeed in recovery.
The Pathway Program is not the typical outpatient program where you attend during the day, but then are alone at night and on the weekends. Two week nights a week the kids are together doing recovery related groups. On the weekends the kids do all kinds of different activities and learn how to have fun being sober in real life. This is part of the aftercare part of the program.
There is an excellent parent support group once a week with parents that have been through it all. The parents are so supportive and I was able to call them anytime of the day or night with any questions. The counselors are extremely knowledgeable about addiction and connect with the kids extremely well. They were also available anytime to help with crisis situations and offer support.
I feel so blessed to have been able to get my daughter the help she needed through The Pathway Program. It has changed both of our lives for the better and offered us hope for the future. I would highly recommend this program for any teens or young adults that are struggling with addiction.

The organization has multi | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was at CFD twice; first in 2019 and again in 2020 during Covid. Treatment isn’t fun. It’s hard. You’re forced to step outside of your comfort zone. My first time at cfd I didn’t want to be there at all (honestly was just there to get medically cleared so I could go back to school) but it took going back a year later and spending 7 weeks there for me to realize and appreciate how much I needed treatment at the time. I would just say to anyone planning on coming here: have an open mind. Every person stepping through the doors of residential is suffering. And I understand you if you’re afraid of letting go of your ED. It’s valid. It is scary. But it’s also incredibly fulfilling to be freed from disordered eating. It is a beautiful process: learning to love yourself. It’s not easy. There was a lot of tears. But you’re surrounded by peers who understand exactly what you’re going through and the group therapy sessions help a lot. If your family cares enough to support you in your recovery please show gratitude because not everyone has a family there to cheer them on or come visit them while they’re struggling. Cherish your loved ones and be grateful for life everyday. Food isn’t the enemy. Food nourishes the soul and body and you deserve to be happy! Also it’s nice to cheer each other on in treatment. I know EDs can be competitive and even if you don’t mean to you might subconsciously end up comparing yourself to the other patients (idk maybe not but I did) but realize that you are both there for the purpose of healing and recovering and comparing yourself to another sick individual isn’t getting anyone anywhere. Instead focus on yourself and tell ur peers ur proud of them if u notice they struggled but got through a meal. It’s important to be there for each other. I’m reallyyyyy shy but to this day I’m still in touch with some of the other girls I met at cfd. It’s great. Also.. JOURNAL! journal everything. Every emotion. Every outburst. It’s healing. If you’re spiritually inclined, right now is the perfect time to get close to your higher power. You won’t have your phone for the most part so reading the Bible, praying, etc…. Now is the time to do that haha god is great. Especially when you think no one else is there for you. Nobody forces religion or spirituality on you here it’s not like the 12 steps in AA/NA but I’m just saying getting closer to god is such a bonus and will aid you tremendously in your recovery process if you seek him out. Good luck to everyone in their recovery journey!! You got this! Can’t really speak for their current staff but I had great support from the therapists and nurses (especially) at the time when I was there. Hopefully it’s the same or better now!

Like hallelujah god sent me there to have the best therapist who was so patient with my argumentative self. Literally if you actually learn and apply it to your life it changes everything. Like I used to dread every meal but now I can enjoy food again and it’s wonderful. (Eating isn’t the problem. It’s all ego. Always a pleasure, it is a slower and smaller building then I am used to in Roseville or even Nevada county. Its very well organized, they have a great space for what it's used for. Everyone is so helpful. Like easily and quickly helpful. My worker is unbelievable! I don't know if it's because it's smaller or what. But I have been able to accomplish so much more with el dorado county then anywhere else Ive lived. I don't feel like a number just being rushed thru a system. Everyone seems to pay attention in a different way. The hospital is the same, the marshall medical family medicine is incredible! The offer so much and its very easy to find. When I call I don't get some bitchy lady who is annoyed and rude. El dorado county is very nice. Even dealing with the sheriff. They were very easy going and respectful. I’ve had an amazing experience at Sequoia Counseling and Recovery. From scheduling to the sessions themselves, everything has felt professional, warm, and easy. My therapist takes the time to really listen and creates a space where I feel comfortable being honest, which has made a real difference in my progress. The office itself is calm and welcoming, and the whole team is responsive and easy to communicate with. I’d recommend Sequoia to anyone looking for a supportive, and skilled place.

As a fellow therapist, I value practices that provide ethical, compassionate, and client-centered care, and this practice clearly demonstrates those qualities. The clinicians are professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to supporting their clients’ growth and wellbeing. The environment feels welcoming and respectful, and it’s evident that care and integrity are prioritized throughout the therapeutic process. I would feel confident referring clients here and appreciate the positive impact this practice brings to the community. The practice truly embodies a trauma informed client-centered approach with both clients and clinicians treated with care and respect.

This place does not have employees; it has angels from heaven. Robin and the other staff were attentive, caring, and lovely beings who help many people come out of a difficult place stronger. As I drove into a sunset recently, this song that I had added to my playlist thanks to Robin came on, and it rang true.
Song: You feel like you're falling backwards
Like you're slippin' through the cracks
Like no one would even notice
If you left this town and never came back
You walk outside and all you see is rain
You look inside and all you feel is pain
And you can't see it now
But down the road the sun is shining
In every cloud there's a silver lining
Just keep holding on (just keep holding on)
And every heartache makes you stronger
But it won't be much longer
You'll find love, you'll find peace
And the you you're meant to be
I know right now that's not the way you feel
But one day you will...
Thank you Robin and all. Stay blessed.
