Always a good experience, bit of a wait time today, other patients apparently didn't get to their appointment on time which has a snowball effect on appointment times . This was possibly due to them not planning on rain and their sugar cars melted in rain lol.

Casa Serena Treatment Programs for Women is a drug and alcohol rehab facility located in Santa Barbara, California. I’d really like to give ten stars, because five stars aren’t enough to describe how healing and restorative going through Casa Serena’s program has been for me, and what it has meant to me as I’ve moved through early sobriety as a young woman. I came to Casa Serena to do the outpatient part of my rehab stint after spending almost 90 days at a residential program in another state. I wasn’t sure I had anything else to learn after doing so much therapeutic trauma work while in residential but I was proved wrong. I flew out to Santa Barbara all the way from the Great Lakes portion of the Midwest to live at Millie’s, which ended up feeling like home after about a week of being there. I did four months of outpatient / PHP / IOP programming, and have not regretted my decision at all, even on the days when having to do the heavy lifting of emotional processing in group felt like a lot. I got along with everyone I came across and was treated with kindness, care, and empathy from everyone I lived with or saw at the outpatient building. I noticed that every other woman in the program was treated with the same respect I received each day. I should also say that I’m a highly sensitive empath from Ohio, and I take very seriously who I will and won’t spend my time with. I would not hesitate at all to tell my own mom, sister, friends, mail carrier, etc. to admit at Casa if it’s what they really needed. It’s very beautiful that at Casa Serena every type of woman belongs and feels safe enough to be themself, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, upbringing, etc. We’re more alike than we are different when going through Casa Serena- each of us has the common problem of trying to kick an addiction that’s more or less killing each of us. Wanting to live a sober and healthy life is our great unifier. Would I fly clear across the country to do Casa Serena all over again? Yes! Is it worth the cost? Definitely! Do you learn more about yourself than you ever thought you would? Again, definitely! Will it save your life if you let it? Absolutely. My heart rests peacefully knowing that this team of clinicians works so skillfully, empathetically, and honestly to help women heal from the trauma, brokenness and heartbreak that accompany addiction. If you’re ready to come home to yourself, this is the perfect program through which to do so.

This morning as I wake up to start my week, I am 6 months sober. I owe every miraculous thing that has changed in my life to Casa Serena and the amazing staff there. From the clinicians to the PAs to Tamra the “house mom” at their sober transition house to Chef Karen who prepares delicious meals for the women in recovery daily. I would not be the woman I am today without this program. Whatever your ailment is, this program with help you work through your demons and if you truly want to live a better life off of your substance of choice, if you truly work for that everyday of the program, if you truly listen to your clinicians, then you can be successful and truly live the life of your dreams. Thank you Casa. I have found a sisterhood I will have the rest of my life. I look forward to leading another Sacred Sisterhood meeting in the future!!

Casa Serena is a magical place. The staff is wonderful and extremely educated and the group curriculum is life changing. I got so much out of my individual and family therapy sessions. In addition, the psychiatrist is the best I have ever seen as she’s very knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. I owe a lot to Casa as this program has completely transformed my life!

This program can be resourceful and educational to some. To others the groups maybe a form of therapy. The councilors/instuctors are very helpful and compassionate. The staff works well with you achieving personal growth and success and it’s a very simple program process. Enrollment wasn’t difficult and the programs classes/sessions maybe long but they are full of people who are relatively relatable. My personal experience was pleasant.

As a patient/student not only was I treated with respect and care the compassionate instructors/councilors were very helpful and supportive. This programs groups worked as well as a form of therapy for me. The confidentiality and understanding of my peers or others in the program was very important and helped me regain confidence. I now feel how a better understanding to the laws and regulations of driving and being under the influence/intoxicated. This program was educational as well as resourceful. Although I personally took a lot from my experience and enjoyed the sense of supporting community I hope to continue on a positive path and not have to return.

My son had a great experience here. The team is stellar and treated him like he was their own family. We had a few rough days and they were amazing with keeping me in the loop and making sure to carry out my wishes. He was diagnosed within the first month of what his mental health issues were and they treated him according to what they thought was best for him. They gave us a lot of materials for us to educate us about his disorder, and educated him on what it meant and how to move forward.

A pretty straightforward and simple program, the zoom education is easy and provides quite a good bit of useful information. They provide a pretty simple course that is very easy to complete if you can show up on time every week. The staff are all very helpful and all a pleasure to work with. People complain ALOT about the late fees for missing classes or the way the program is run, it is a state audited program so they have to follow the rules and guidelines set by the state. If you show up on time like you would have to for practically any other meeting in your life it is very easy and you don’t have to pay any additional fees.
Nicolas Cristiani

My experience with Zona Seca has been overall positive. They are a non-profit, not charging for any sort of gain, the fees are there to help control some of the chaos of having to constantly reschedule, etc. There is a wait time to get in, so why would they cater to people who aren't going to do what is needed. The people that work there truly care and want to help. Sometimes that means saying things people don't want to hear, which is another reason I'm sure they get such bad reviews. Yes they are strict about missing classes/rescheduling, but the rules are made VERY clear from the beginning. For those complaining about fees, maybe you should have read the contract when you enrolled?

From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by an incredible team of compassionate, highly skilled professionals who go above and beyond to ensure every client feels supported and valued. The staff’s dedication and empathy create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters real healing and growth. One of the standout aspects of Sanctuary is the quality of the food. I would describe my experience with Action IOP like a rollercoaster, all because of my own actions. When I got out of Action Residential I wanted to change my life, but I didn't want to stop using. Because of that, I went in and out of IOP, but never once did the counselors OR the clients judge me. They all excepted me with open arms. There was never judgement in the groups or in individual counseling. I can just speak on my own experience, walking through that door, it's like a sense of acceptance and meditation. The counselors, and clients alike, all just want to see the next person to walk through the door make it; because the disease of addiction is deadly. It was the counselors at Action IOP that helped me see that using really was life or death for me, and that I could live a beautiful life without the influence of drugs. I became so excited for groups that I even attended some 3 months after I graduated! The counselors never let anyone walk through that door without giving them a bit of their time, and they never let anyone exit that door feeling defeated. They all are so absolutely dedicated to their "job", because to them it's not a "job"; it's about helping the addict who still suffers.

I was there, and honestly, many of the negative reviews seem to stem from patients who are fabricating tales to escape their treatment. From my own experience, I can tell you that this facility is genuinely a good place. I never witnessed the staff mocking anyone; instead, they treated everyone with kindness and respect. Mike is a great man as well; even though I had no insurance, he housed me out of his expenses , fed me, and allowed me to stay far longer than I expected. Cross Point is the best! I love everyone there—Selina, Julie, Mike, Marine, and Dr. Barnes. After I finished treatment, the staff helped me become an intern, showing how Cross Point helps people succeed."

I spent two months at Serenity Malibu last summer, and I experienced nothing but the most caring, compassionate care and treatment for my alcoholism and depression. It will be one year next week and I'm in a new sober relationship and optimistic about the future. Highly recommended!

Writing a review of a rehab center is not something I ever thought I'd be doing. However, when a family member was in need of treatment, my family and I were fortunate to have been able to turn to the team at Serenity. The staff took tremendous care of my relative's needs, as well as the needs of our family. Dr. Shilati and her fantastic staff made us feel comfortable with the process and guided us every step of the way. We are forever grateful for their assistance at one of the hardest moments in our lives.

OMGOSH! Serenity Malibu literally saved my life!! I looked at a lot of treatment centers before choosing this one…then i made the call…a very nice man named Bruce answered the phone..he asked me a few ???'s about my resources then promised to call me back…he promptly called me back after calling my insurance co. and told me i was "good to go"…I was such a "hot mess"..addicted to alcohol, opiates and alcohol..and ambien to sleep…I was a walking time bomb..things weren't working for me any more..i was isolated using night and day..i bought my airline ticket one way and went straight to L.A…there was a gentleman at the gate waiting to transport me the 45 min. drive to the house..it was a very nice car, and driver..when i got to the house all the staff knew my name..and welcomed me with open arms..after a little paperwork i went to my "new house"..i went to serenity house…it was like a movie star would live in..big and lovely…lots of comfort foods, 24 hour care takers, a house keeper, a pool and hot tub too..its total luxury…i met a few new house mates..they taught me "the ropes" quickly..i was fearful that my detox would be uncomfortable..i meet the first nite with the doctor..he gave me meds. that i took for a few weeks to get me thru the "tough times"..I was very comfortable…i got my schedule..and started my healing from the get go…I went on beach walks, went to the movies, got my nails done, like "normal life", not a hospital setting!I had acupuncture, cranial sacral ,massage, yoga, and spiritual healing( very powerful stuff)! I learned a new way of life..and EVERYONE …well just about everyone there is in recovery also..I had the BEST month of my life..I dealt (thru therapists )with all my issues i was walking around with in my gut..I was able to learn what drove me to use and not feel my feelings..for once I feel free..This facility does offer 12 step programs if you are interested..and another program( Smart recovery) if you're not..for my recovery i find it is necessary to be in a 12 step program..today I'm 40 days SOBER..I can't say enough about Serenity/Seasons (their sister house)..I am home now..miss the gourmet meals, the good friends I made, and ALL the support i had while there..I have an exit plan in my pocket that is a guide how to live on the "outside" for me..they helped me fill up my "tool box"now I'm in charge of continuing what I've learned..my relationship with my family has been healing..I got another chance in life..at age 55 I felt beat down and tired of my 30+years of using..I feel blessed and willing..its not a "piece of cake" out here back in the "real world" but I'm living life on "life's terms" one day at a time..I would HIGHLY recommend Serenity/Seasons..Thank you to all the staff that taught me how to get outta my "rut"..I feel love in my heart..thanks to you all from the bottom of my heart..So give Bruce a call today..if you are "sick in tired,of being sick and tired"..he will tell you straight up what it takes to get there..I feel blessed that my insurance co. Aetna paid most of my stay..some of my peers paid theirs outta pocket..just ask yourself what is my life worth…?? I give this Luxury healing "resort"5*****..Thank you for reading this..and remember "Nothing changes, if nothing changes"!! Tracy jones Anchorage Alaska.

I have had three major depressive episodes in my life. Each episode was four to eight years apart. I run a large company in the Midwest and when the Beach House was recommend to me I must admit I was skeptical to say the least. The mere fact that this was also a treatment center for addiction gave me cause for pause. When I arrived at The Beach House I was at my lowest point in 12 years. The absolute miracles that occurred over my 30 days in program for depression and anxiety can not be described in this review. The total commitment to the healing process of body mind and spirit are beyond compare. Kimberly, Charlie, Art and Emily have built a team of professionals that are client focused and are invested in healing. The Beach House changed my life. Because of people like Morgan and Wendy who equipped me with a tool box full of tools for daily self care and a broad understanding of the biochemical aspects of depression and anxiety, I believe that major episodes are in my past. Every caregiver in The Beach House was committed to my recovery from Chris’ ride from the airport, to Jesse’s wit to Adam’s three mile runs. I will never forget my time with you. If every 51 year old man had an opportunity to come take a month and work on themselves with this team, the world would be a better place. God Bless you all.

Last year a client of mine had hit a very low point & I posted for help on a Facebook page related to treatment centers. I already knew a lot of places were not suitable for this specific situation. The owner saw my post & put three people on our case immediately. They even had someone go pick up my client's car all the way out in Hollywood & stored his car in a garage for us while he stayed on Broad Beach. You will not find a nicer place/nicer people anywhere in Malibu.

Bakersfield Behavioral Health Hospital is a wonderful place. The counselors, physician, and all other staff that I have had the pleasure to interact with are friendly, professional, and most importantly good at what they do. Specifically, my experience with Robert and his Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program has been a huge boon to my mental health and recovery journey. BBHH and the IOP that they offer have been crucial in helping me through an intensely difficult and stressful period in my life. They help with medication management, coping strategies, transportation, nutrition, and just generally figuring out how to deal with life in an often frustrating messed up world. The providers here come from a place of understanding; no one gets talked down to or scolded. They meet you where you are and provide knowledge and tools for you. It’s not cookie-cutter, “show up, do this, kick you back into the world with a good luck and a ham sandwich”. IOP here has not only drastically improved my life, they have helped me save it.

It was really hard for me to make the decision that my son needed to go, but after talking to Sam in intake, I instantly felt better. They superseded my expectations. My son is discharged and doing well this facility really helped him. He said the food was good the rooms were clean and the staff was polite and helpful. I spoke with his therapist, Harmon and I was given so much detail about my son‘s progress he also helped me with some guidance because this has been tough as a mom. I definitely will say harmon went above and beyond and my son adored him. My son said they were able to really connect and that he felt Harmon understood him and what he was going through. His Nurse practitioner called me about medication‘s she would like to put him on and I was given choices and I was part of his treatment plan. When it was Time to discharge. It was an incredibly easy process, and I was given everything I needed, including his blood work results. His care team went above and beyond and was also a great support for myself when I needed it they communicated well. We’re very professional very understanding and very compassionate. no one wants to admit their Son to facility, but I will tell you this if you ever have to, This is the place. I can say from my own experience that your child will be well taken care of well fed, and you will have a care team with you the entire time.
