The Medical Care provided by the VA Health Care Department is superb. It is the best benefit an honorably discharged or disabled veteran gets for their time in the military. So much better then medicare or medicaid. They will provide the best medical care it's possible to get any where and if they can't, they will find out who can and send you there. I'm glad I'm a vet who's got full VA Medical coverage and wish every one in the USA had access to this kind of medical care.

I've been to many detox and recovery programs over the years, and Ford Street Project gave me one of the best experiences I've had. They made me feel like part of a big family, not scrutinized over every little thing like at other places, such as HRC. The only drawbacks were the sleeping arrangements and the mattresses, but that's easily fixed with a personal mattress pad for extra comfort. The men and women are housed separately in large dormitories with partitions, so you still have a sense of personal space. This setup helped me bond with the other women, making us feel closer. Maybe I was lucky to have been with serious, committed individuals, but I know the staff would have addressed any issues if they had arisen amongst the roomates. Aside from the sleeping conditions, I absolutely loved this place. Even with the sleeping arrangements being a little rough it is absolutely still totally worth it and just by bringing an extra mattress pad from home u have turned an uncomfortable situation into one completely bearable. Also, you can smoke anytime, which is great when you're up half the night detoxing and don't want to be locked in with an alarm set at 9 PM. If you're considering this place for detox, bring a comfy mattress pad and give them a try—they're awesome and made me feel at home. Thanks, Ford Street Project!

Hi I went through the Singing Trees Recovery program in 2001. The experience was so spiritual. I am an addict and they helped me get clean, stay clean, and so much more! I got to meet myself for the first time in a Long time not to mention some good people whom I call my Friends and my 2nd Family I would recommend this facility to anyone that needs help! The staff are excellent and have all been in my shoes at one time their life so they counsel with real experience on your level not just out of a text book. Because they have a story too. I learned a whole new way of life. You can get so much out of this program if you want it. Thank You So Much Singing Trees And all that's within It. Reflections saved my life. The entire program is incredible. The staff is truly amazing, the owners, the directors, the nurses, the program managers and assistants, the chefs, every single one of the takes time to personally care about each of clients individually, we are seen and heard and they truly love and care about us as people. Even in life after reflections I know I can call any time day or night if needed, they will remember me and help me even if it’s just a moment where I only need someone to listen. There is no other program like this and they go out of their way to really strive for the success stories the first time around. And if it takes another round they ensure you are a priority and know it’s a matter of life or death . They will do everything in their power to save your life and make a person want to be saved. And the bond you form with your roommates can last a lifetime. Mine have become my family. I will forever owe the life I have today which is happiness and loving myself to Living at Reflections. If anyone is suffering from any type of addiction or mental health illness this is the place to find yourself again, the person you deserve to be and love. And you’ll never have to feel alone ever again. I am forever thankful, grateful and so very blessed to be an alumni.

Those struggling and/or in need of help, Reflections is the perfect place. Reflections is differentiated in a few ways. First, their approach is holistic; it's about more than just getting sober. The program includes reading and educational sessions, group discussions/therapy, individual therapy, and a personalized recovery plan. The professionals at Reflections are fantastic with a wide range of issues, including co-occurring disorders. And my program was tailored to involve my loved ones as much or as little as I preferred. Second, as much as it's possible, it's a fun and enjoyable experience. The food is phenomenal, the facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, and the environment is friendly and collegial (with both staff and fellow residents). Third, and most importantly, Reflections is one of the (if not the only) independently owned facilities in the area. This means that staff optimizes around what's best for the resident, and not what's just best for insurance. They truly care about each individual far more than the bottom line, which is apparent in both treatment issues as well as collaborative payment/insurance resolutions. I have two pieces of constructive feedback. One, I recommend stronger communication channels and coordination between the clinical staff and the operations team. I can only imagine how challenging it is to handle the ever-shifting complex operations at Reflections (e.g., living arrangements, staffing, scheduling, speakers, unforeseen individual needs), so it's no easy task. But occasionally there was some confusion on schedule changes with session content and/or timing. However, we were able to quickly resolve these issues as they were raised. And second, my arrival/onboarding was a bit scattered and piecemeal. I did arrive last minute, and my situation was unique (as previously discussed with staff, I moved between the McClay and Simmons facilities after a couple of days). But I would recommend that one staff person be assigned the holistic onboarding process that's completed/reviewed as the resident is acclimating to the program. Those two issues are minor, but I wanted to be comprehensive in my feedback. I built very strong relationships there, ones that I continue to value and maintain months later. I get together with my fellow residents, and I love seeing staff members at meetings and events around the Bay. I feel like I have a new lease on life. I am not happy that I spent time in a facility such as this, but it being necessary, I am thrilled that I chose Reflections for this brief chapter of my (new and much improved) life.

There are wonderful things about Duffy's- but also things that aren't. Amazing trust between residents and wonderful small groups, beautiful nature, delicious food, and really comfortable rooms. Some staff were like gold and others wronged me to the point that a full investigation was conducted. The results were in my favor, which thankfully led to a change in policy. There is some trauma there and some staff are truly as cold as ice. But I want to emphasize that the ones that shine saved my life. EDIT Interesting that you did not address the negative experience which was major. I’m not griping, just think it’s best practices to give actual feedback and acknowledge that each of us is human with individual experiences.

I am mostly pleased with my time at Duffys. The staff was excellent and the food was delicious. I have been sober for two years. My concerns are the following. The staff as good as they were definitely had favorites. From reading the nightly N/a /a/a meetings to other stuff. Also there is an administrative leak when it comes to housing. I stayed in the villa which is a somewhat private area. Somehow the ladies in adjoining Villa knew ahead of time who my roommate was going to be and the were right I thought this was strange that they knew before me who was living in the Villa. Most importantly in the bigger picture of my journey in Sobriety they were good. My counselor Mary was the best. (, Ive been sober for over two years and the friends I met there are still my friends to this day. Thank you Duffys for 2.5 years of Sobriety

Located in Santa Rosa, California, Azure Acres is a residential alcohol and drug rehab treatment center for adults. They offer detoxification services, residential treatment and aftercare services facilitated by an Azure Acres counselor. Detoxification at Azure Acres is medically managed by clinical staff and typically lasts about three to 10 days.
I went there for 5 nights and 6 days. This was my first time at a rehab and I was really nervous and apprehensive about what it would be like. I will tell you that this place was exactly what I needed. The entire staff was so immensely helpful and welcoming, a lot of the staff are former guests trying to get sober, so they know what it’s like!! Then you have the guests who were amazing. This amazing place helped save me so I could get right for my family and myself.

I wake up happy to drive to work at Azure Acres Recovery Center, and I leave each day with a deep sense that I have made a meaningful difference. As a therapist, this environment is both grounding and expansive. The collaboration with psychiatric, medical, case management, and behavioral health teams—including the CEO and especially our Clinical Director—is rooted in trust, grace, and the freedom to create programming that flows from your authentic clinical voice. What makes Azure Acres exceptional is its balance of soul and structure. You are supported to facilitate groups in your area of expertise, with a manageable caseload that honors the depth of individual care. The residential setting allows for something extraordinary—bearing witness to daily transformation within the therapeutic community, far beyond what weekly sessions in private practice can offer. We also hold a broader view. Our work is part of a larger ecosystem that includes corporate insight, insurance partnerships, the Department of Rehabilitation, and a new community-wide commitment to recovery and renewal. This convergence creates momentum for real change—inside and out. There is a strong culture of professional development, with continuing education in Brainspotting, ACT, DBT, and IFS, and mentorship that supports clinical and leadership growth. Azure Acres is not just a treatment center—it is a living community of compassion, integrity, and purpose.

Azure Acres saved me. It mended me and gave me back myself, the true version of me that I had long lost to alcohol. I was beyond being able to help myself, but they were able to help me. Going to Azure Acres was likely the best decision of my life. It repaired me as a person, in turn allowing me to heal my relationships and build a future I couldn't see before. You will learn so much about addiction and yourself. I now have over 3 years and 7 weeks of sobriety without so much as a hiccup. The staff are incredibly caring and passionate about their jobs. If you want help, this is where you need to go. You are worth it, and you can do it.

By far. the best (out of 7 total) rehab facilities I've ever been to. They actually do trauma therapy, and you get sessions with a licensed psychologist twice a week, in addition to your drug counselor. The very best therapists I have EVER worked with. And the best drug counselor I've ever had. I've been looking for therapy like this, and the answers I got at Olympia House, for 20 years. They are the most skilled, caring, and professional team of people I've ever worked with in mental health. I'm dual diagnosis, so I've been seeing professionals for my mental health for 25 years. Some of their curriculum is custom, developed in house by the psychologists there—you won't find tools like these anywhere else. I have a custom designed "addictive system" I use every day to track where I am in my recovery and mental health. I use this not only to prevent relapses, but correct myself if I run off course, and this works not just for substance relapses but also things like depression, anxiety, and anger. Their website doesn't reflect this, but they take Kaiser Permanente insurance now. That's the only reason I was able to come here. I know reviews are inflated on the Internet, but please trust me, I swear with every fiber of my being and every ounce of integrity I have, this is likely the best rehab in California. If you have trauma, and most people do, or some form of PTSD, this is the place you should go. They also focus on finding meaning and purpose in life--and they will definitely help you with that. They also allow you to come back to the rehab twice a year for 2-3 days for free! They call it a "tune up". No one else I know of does this. There's also free group therapy for alumni (a process group led by one of the therapists there) once a week via Zoom. I would wake up many times in OH in disbelief that this place exists at all, and that I got to be a resident here. They've made an enormous difference in the outcome of my life. ******ADDENDUM****** I recently read a review of OH where someone on the autism spectrum had a difficult experience. I'm sorry to hear that, but I simply wanted to say I'm (diagnosed) autistic (ASD 1/Aspergers) myself and felt that OH not only understood the strengths and limitations that can come with that, but also caused me to realize I had overestimated how different I was from my peers because of my autism. I still have it, of course, but the result of being at OH was a clearer picture of its actual impact in my life, particularly with peer relationships. I can't thank them enough for helping me with this, I have a much healthier social life today as a result.

First the facility and the land it's on is beyond beautiful. Couldn't ask for a better place to wake up everyday while recovering. Everyone that works for O.H genuinely cares. They make u feel like you unique and special. They offer soo many different activities and teach you so much about yourself and addiction. They give you the tools and resources for when you leave. They do not turn anyone away UNLESS you require more specialized care being that they are not a hospital with a doctor on site. By far the best rehab in northern California

Olympia House Rehabilitation in Petaluma, California saved my life as well as countless others! The intense inpatient program includes psychologists, counselors, process group meetings, group classes, one on one meetings as well as yoga, guided meditation, animal therapy, garden, therapy, art and music too. Olympia House is situated on quiet, peaceful, and safe, 100+ acre farm/ranch. The doctors, couselors, and staff all work to help identify the root cause of the core distortions that contribute to substance abuse. The focus of the residents mind, body, and spirit are all addressed. Additionally, there is a lifetime of free continuous care for the alumni that includes zoom process groups, AA/NA meetings, visits once a year for two days at the house. The alumni portion of treatment is all free of charge. I cannot say enough good things regarding Olympia House. I highly recommend this program. Thank you, Sherry P.

This is actually the best Clinic I've ever been to Thomas has been the best counselor I've had I was at ages before as well but due to getting ran over by a car I was put back on opiate medications and well any addict knows what happens after that when I returned to ages I went through a plethora of counselors but Thomas was solid and stuck around when I came to him I had 14 take homes and lost them because I fell off. Thank God I had Thomas as a counselor he held me accountable for my actions was patient and gentle and see me through my relapse now I have six take homes and I'm doing way better I really believe that if Thomas wasn't my counselor during my relapse I wouldn't be clean right now because of the way he handled the situation allow me to trust him take his advice and now I've been clean for almost 4 months now thank you Thomas and thank you Aegis for employing Thomas.

I have been in and out of recovery pretty much my whole life since I was a teenager. I had heard repeatedly that there's no "magic pill" to help with your addiction problems. Well, I must say that methadone sure worked "magic" for me. It brought my cravings down to nothing, might I add, I was always on the lookout for something. Methadone gave me the feeling of what I would best describe as "content." Aegis gave me the added help I needed to then focus on myself and my well-being. I have since been able to find and maintain staple employment and let me focus on what my family and I needed instead of just what my brain wanted. So thank you to Aegis of Chico, I hate to even imagine what my life would look like had I never found them.

I came to Mountain Vista Farm’s a broken man. My addiction has led me to suffer from alcohol use disorder. I needed help. I have two undergraduate bachelor degree one in business economics and one in psychology and I have an MBA. Because I am successful out in the real world I felt like I could outsmart my addiction to alcohol use disorder, but I couldn’t outsmart it. There’s a concept you learned about Mountain Vista Farm at a high-level I went through the different phases for a long time. Alcohol was fun. Then it was fun with problems. Then it was just problems. And so I learned at Mountain Vista Farm with a very caring and kind set a very certified and capable staff . That the concept of the ‘yet’s’ Havent completely got me all the way. I learned through a combination of childhood trauma that I have held onto some emotions and alcohol I thought was my chance to escape. Through Mountain Vista Farm in this useful app That allows me to stay in touch with a lot of people so I can build that social network of sobriety I now have a new hope and a new future. There’s a quote I like that says “at the heart of chaos lies Opportunity.” If you’re looking into Mountain Vista Farm, then you have been through the chaos, now let Mountain Vista Farm be your opportunity. And this app is a really great tool To always have a sober support network right at your finger Tips To stay strong and follow the course of a new life a new way of living in Mountain Vista Farm along with this app can enable that future. I just discharged from the Atherton house. It was a lovely place. As a woman who has experienced so much trauma in my life (of all kinds) I have a hard time feeling safe especially around strangers and in a new place. I have to admit that I felt very safe just like I was at home. I was at home; Avery Lane Atherton facility was my home. Temporarily. I made friends with all of the other women (clients). The other women were all friendly and welcoming to me. It's never easy going to rehab but if it was; this place is a good way for it to feel that way. The therapists are highly educated and skilled. My therapist (Summer LanFranco) helped rewire my brain in literally 60 days. She has to be God sent because she works miracles. I'm a walking miracle in the sense that I am actually living on my own and I am not completely depressed or in a crisis. I never thought I could do it. I didn't know how. And that is okay because I don't have to have all the answers or any answers for the matter just the want to and today I do want to because I now know it's possible. I used to want to die I mean I really didn't want to live. I was so scared and stressed out about being alone and scared. I'm not scared anymore either. I mean there were times when I looked at her sideways and even talked some shit with the other women (nothing horrible just the usual bitching lol) but I always had to take it back because she was so good at what she does she was helping me when I didn't even expect or know what was happening. She is so talented I have to give her credit simply because I pay my debts now lol and she has earned it. I used to think that I was going to die by suicide or a fentanyl overdose but I don't think like that anymore. I have to of course give all the Glory to the Good Lord for if it was not supposed to be it would not so thank you heavenly Father for always keeping me in your favor. Thank you Avery Lane. Ps You can't watch any television except for Saturday night movie night where you are alotted 1 movie that the ENTIRE HOUSE MUST AGREE ON And it can't be anything entertaining (sex drugs vulgar language drinking gang activity or anything that is too sad depressing reminds you of something bad or triggers you THERES ALWAYS THAT ONE WHO MANIPULATES THE STAFF TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS but you might get to go to Peet's coffee on Saturday not guaranteed though also no candy or junk food or soda WHATSOEVER They have chefs Mary was my absolute favorite She would bake us cakes cookies and goodies Thank you Mary She made it easy for me to be there The most inspiring and uplifting woman to have small chat with Chef Mary really deserves recognition for accommodating the women and what we wanted Anne Well I am so sick of tuna, mushroom soup and curry or artichokes I'm never eating them again I don't understand why we had a chef there who made food that I could have made just as crappy as I could(tuna sandwiches so basic no pickles no nothing). Not to mention the same bagels and salmon every week. We ALL DREADED ANNE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE DIDN'T LEAVE ANY DISHES FROM COOKING BUT WE WOULD HAVE RATHER DISHES THAN BLAND BASIC FOOD. Not to mention that I don't eat shell fish or fish and those things were prepared at least 4 or 5 times a week so that's how many meals I would go without because accomodations were just too much to ask for of the chef who has 3 hours to make a bunch of tuna sandwiches for 5 women who secretly despise it. Thank you Chef Derek for the most delicious. WHOOPY!!!! Pies I've ever eaten in my life. Other than that..... Oh yes the Two Recovery counselors both named Lizzie. Those are the two names that you need to know. Natalie Judit and of course SUMMER are going to teach you how to grow mentally emotionally spiritually and physically. By the time you leave you will be a whole new woman. So pay attention in their groups.

I recently completed a 30 day program at Avery Lane, and I can t express enough gratitude for the support and care I received from the Recovery Counselors and Nicole, my therapist. From day one, the Recovery Counselors created a safe and compassionate environment, offering encouragement and guidance that truly helped me stay focused on my sobriety journey. They were always there to listen, answer questions, and provide the tools I needed to navigate my personal challenges.Nicole, my therapist, was instrumental in my recovery. Her expertise, empathy, and tailored approach made a huge difference in my healing process. She helped me work through difficult emotions, recognize underlying issues, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I felt truly seen and understood, which was incredibly empowering during my 30 days there. Thanks to the team at Avery Lane, I now have a solid foundation to continue building on my sobriety journey. I highly recommend this center to anyone seeking a supportive and dedicated team to guide them toward recovery.

very good place. shoutout to kylee, alex, victor, and especially therapist lisa. they could do more about the sharps though because there was legit so many sharps getting passed around while I was there. anyways this place kind of inspired me to go and work at a treatment facility because this place helped my mental health and drug issues a lot. <3 anyways it does NOT cost that much to get A/C. if this place doesn't get A/C within a year I'm going to go outside this facility, get on channel 16 with a radio, and scream profanities directed to the CEO.

Our child had medication resistant severe depression. Muir Woods helped find the right medication and provided a supportive environment over covid no less. My child is thriving and we both agree that even though it was a hard period, it was the best choice to get them treatment. The tutors worked with his teachers and he maintained a 4.0 while getting better.

At the scariest time of our lives my son was able to recover from Psychosis at Muir Wood in Petaluma & has been on a positive path since. It’s exactly what we needed to help stabilize him & are so very grateful for his time there. Thank you to everyone, especially his therapist Lars!!! My only suggestion is to individualize each kids rules to their circumstances/needs. I believe he could’ve had an even better experience there & easier recovery in his mental health had he been able to go on all outings to feel some normalcy again which was direly needed for him.

My experience at the Santa Rosa VA has been exceptional except for my blood draw. I have very fine veins and the person doing my blood draw used a big needle after I explained that only a fine butterfly needle could work. I could not believe that she used a medium if not large needle and stuck it deep into my arm. She got no blood and put me through immeasurable pain! I have never had this happen before ever! After all that my blood work was never sent to me. At age 70 I really should be considered to be the expert on what my needs are. She completely discounted everything. Then she referred me to a supervisor who said oh I see what you mean! Not happy!

I have been a pastor for 45 years. I have visited with my people in every type of medical situation, not to mention the things that my family has gone through. If you think the VA is bad, try the real world. The San Francisco and Santa Rosa VA clinics and the hospital are tops.

I took a dear family friend here and they mixed up his appointment. He was very frustrated and said the staff are disorganized. The building itself is large and looks clean and well-maintained with lots of parking out front. We need to take good care of our veterans and give them priority for their health.

My son has been coming here since he was 1 week old... These guys are amazing. I love that they have a separate entrance for newborns and the car check INS for when or little ones are sick. Also there has never been a day that I have been turned away for the same day appointment as long as I call by 8:00 a.m. Thank you for being so great!

The new men’s inpatient treatment center is incredible! I’ve been to many treatment centers in my life and I can honestly say that this was one of if not the best I’ve been too! The staff all have their own strengths and the format is perfect if you really want to change your life. The therapist that comes in to help is powerful and I couldn’t have asked for more

I cannot say enough good things about Center Point DAAC. For years there were no services for men that wanted help with alcohol and substance abuse through MediCal in Sonoma county. Fortunately this is no longer the case. This facility opened in December 2024 and has helped many suffering from AUD and SUD already. It's a new and clean facility. Staff members are amazing, in particular my case manager. You can tell they are truly sincere in helping others find the path to sobriety. I finally feel hope again. If you or someone you know is in need of help please don't overlook this place. I would highly recommend it.

HI! "Recovery is no popularity contest". Let's get humble, and do whatever it takes to live in that humility. I was a case manager for both in-patient and out-patient. It was a joy helping others. What a person puts into their recovery is what they'll get. Campobello was a good recovery center. I am glad to see Camp is still around. There are alot of people and their families, who got their lives back on track there. Recovery is for those who want it . . DO YOU?

Saved my damn life and I had NOTHING coming. Ok? I was absolutely worthless and they looked beyond that. Gave me something I never could ever imagine having; hope. Disregard negative reviews. These people don't understand or are not ready to get clean. Wendy, along with all the staff, pierced my veil of darkness with a little bit of light. Thank you. It will never be forgotten.

I was in the rehab back in 2012 and it was a shock at first when I was there because I was being defiant fighting it. But once you realize that they're actually really trying to help you and they care then it starts to work. After 7 months of being there I left and stayed sober for about 22 months. I relapsed because I went back into the same environment I came from I thought I could handle being around certain people in places but I was wrong. I have quit on and off since then sometimes 1 years sometimes 90 days. I am currently on day number 577 and I apply every single thing that I've learned in that rehab on a daily basis now so if I had to say anything about this place I would say that I learned a lot and if you go there pay attention listen to what they're saying it will help you in the long run with your sobriety. Don't be hard-headed and listen is my advice. And yes some of the staff there were not my favorite type of people I would hang out with, but they did the job and it helped me. So for that I'm grateful ☝️
