Michael Simser 3 years ago If you have been sentenced to take a DUI Class in Contra Costa County I highly recommend this Dawn Center. Ya maybe sometimes the staff may be a little rude with us, but think it about how many wishy washy people do you think come in and out of that center a year? I am sure there are way more than we can imagine. No matter what excuses or what reason you have for getting a DUI in the first place that is not their concern, but you do have to go to a DUI class. So Their concern is you get signed up you come to classes/groups on time pay your fees they provide payments schedules. And don't talk mess be respectful and do what the class requires like the M.A.D.D. class in a timely manner and by the time you are are done you can get your certificate. It is cut and dry. They are not there to become best buddies with us they want to help us get our certificate and be done with it just like we do. The only reason I chose to keep going back is because this is the place to go to get it done. So if you want to get it done go to the Dawn Center Pittsburg and hang in there and be done with it. Just don't get another DUI or you will have to do the class where ever you decide to take your DUI class, Again. Thank you. To be wise Remember Don't Drink and Drive! So much so I got my BFF to get treatment there and she also lives it and is so glad she took the initiative to go there and like me has found relief from the bandage of addiction. I've had a few counselors and love them all. It is like a big family there from the counselors to the dispensing nurses and all the patients. All the patients know each other and support each other. You feel very safe & supported in their relaxed, chill & friendly environment. I would recommend it to anyone experiencing the bondage of addiction. Bcz now instead of the stress of finding opiates and fear of not having them and facing withdrawal now i just take my dose in the morning and don't even think about opiates the rest of the day. Opiate addiction can be an all consuming full time job in which your entire life revolves around getting enough opiates fearing running out and the absolute misery of withdrawal. when you can't get them. But going to BAART has gotten me off that hammster wheel so I can enjoy my life without having to even think about opiates anymore. If you in bondage to opiate addiction do yourself a favor and FREE yourself by going to BAART and start truly livingb& enjoying your life. However, I’ve seen it help several people that actually wanted the help and used the program properly.There is several key words in this comment that are necessary and down right vital in order for the clinic to work the way it was intended. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...! What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). A lot of the negative reviews here seem to come from people who expect results without consistency, honesty, or responsibility. Recovery is not easy, and no clinic can do the work for you if you are still trying to manipulate the system instead of change your life. From my experience, the staff here have always been respectful, supportive, encouraging, and available whenever possible. At the same time, people need to understand that counselors, nurses, and staff members are dealing with many patients every single day — including individuals who repeatedly miss appointments, ignore expectations, or waste the time and energy of people who are genuinely trying to help them. Staff members are human too, and I think many of the complaints fail to recognize the amount of patience required to work in this environment day after day. What stands out the most to me is that this clinic encourages actual recovery and accountability instead of simply handing out medication and sending people on their way. If you consistently show up, communicate honestly, and take your sobriety seriously, the support is absolutely there. I also want to specifically recognize the director, Kim, because she is honestly one of the most compassionate, respectful, genuine human beings I have ever met. The amount of patience, understanding, and support she gives to people — even during difficult situations — deserves recognition. She has played a huge role in my recovery journey and continues to support people however she can, even when she does not have to. Running a program like this cannot be easy, especially while dealing with so many different personalities and situations, but she continues to show professionalism, empathy, and strength every day. At the end of the day, recovery only works when the individual decides they are truly ready. No program is perfect, but in my experience, the people working here genuinely care about those who are serious about changing their lives. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. When I first read the reviews for this facility, I was very nervous to be sent there. So much so that I asked the nurses where I was staying to try and make other arrangements. I was afraid of the theft and mistreatment of patients that some other reviews have mentioned. But that was not my experience. I spent four and a half days there. And I will tell you that it is what you make of it. If you go in entitled and expecting to see lots of bad things, then you will. And while I saw some unruly patients and encounters with dirty toilets, I did find the staff to be quite professional. When I had concerns and respectfully voiced them, they listened and made effort to adjust for me. I made some very heartfelt connections with some of the other patients. People from all walks of life. What we all had in common was some kind of trauma. And it's true, misery loves company. The key to getting better is BE POSITIVE! I call some of my fellow patients dear friends, brothers and sisters who helped me heal and in return I did what I could to be supportive and understanding of their individual situations. Going back to the staff, I felt i was heard by the entire staff. As long as you are polite and don't stir up trouble, you will be fine. Work with the staff. They don't want you there any longer than you want to be there. Open yourself up to listen to what they have to say. Allow yourself to heal. It is a fairly good chance that when you are discharged, the problems that brought you there are still there. But you come out with some coping tools, some support systems to lean on and hopefully, some friends who can be there when you are feeling low. This was my very first time on a 72 hour hold in a psychiatric facility so of course I was really nervous. The floor staff is amazing and very comforting. There was times where I was emotional and they would give me a hug and give me words of encouragement. The nurses are so sweet and really listened to what I needed. I felt very seen and heard by my social worker and psychiatrist. They really worked with me on a great treatment plan. I felt very happy here. The food was really good and I was very well fed. All the staff here is amazing. I loved the activities they had for us. I got to do drawing, outdoor time, coloring, yoga, etc. I enjoyed my time here very much and if any of the staff are seeing this review I just want to say THANK YOU. You all truly saved my life. But the person they paired me up with has been an essential bedrock of support through all that I have been going through for the past two years. The only issue I have had is length between appointments, and if I have to reschedule I end up having to wait at minimum another 3-4 weeks. I am thankful I can wait that long, but I know that it could be a problem for those who might benefit from more frequent help. Cars homes kids family money. I lost everything. I came to archway recovery services October 11th 2024 having no idea who I was or what to do about my addiction to methamphetamine. They taught me about my triggers and how to identify them. They taught me patience. I was planning to go for 45 days and graduate and ended up staying a whole 90 and going to SLE (SOBER LIVING ENVIRONMENT) I found out where I was in my recovery when I never even knew there was a place i I could be which was I was in preparation and by the time I got out was in action. The Rech Techs (to many to name)are very nice and professional. The managers Ms. Donna and Ms. Letti are very nice and professional and amazing people. The executive director Kevin is also an amazing person. This program is like none I have ever been to. It has a panel to go through before you graduate and the reason for that is to be sure you are ready for the outside world before you enter it. Some people may not like it but I loved the way they ran it. It's a very special place and I would recommend it to anyone in this world who has ANY kind of addiction.
