They truly do want to see you succeed but you also have to put forth some of the effort yourself to do so. Would recommend to anyone who is struggling with addiction and wants to change. My experience was life changing! Everyone at Paradise was caring, attentive and have first hand experience in addiction. I felt safe and at home. Groups helped me understand my addiction and have a great desire to be sober! The house was homey, clean and has a swimming pool! Food was terrific! But most of all the staff outstanding! Each staff member valued me, my well being, and overall happiness each day. They consistently supported me and my struggles, while also celebrating my success with the most genuine pride. The consistent kindness was so refreshing and felt genuine. Staff members would greet me with smiles every single day. They really wanted the best for me, and treated me as an individual - honoring the fact that I am a unique person with unique needs. They made me feel loved and cared for when many people in my life have not. I never felt wanted. I stayed a year and then left. I can tell that several of the people there didn't like me. One of the people saw me as an angry person and the worst thing that can happen to a client is to be seen as someone negative and not nice to be around. Last thing I wanted to be was that so I left. Let them have their nice place without me.

I have had the experience of having a loved one hospitalized at API and be treated in their intensive outpatient program and have been a client of their outpatient trauma and mental health intensive therapy. In both the care and compassion of the inpatient hospital staff and the full serviceoutpatient program which includes transportation to and from home if needed, API truly lived up to their reputation for exemplary patient services and effective personalized care. I was a resident at Casa and really didnt focus on what needed to change in me! So i really mad things difficult for myself and the staff however they all showed me a great deal of compassion patience structure which i wasn't used to but most of all a new way of dealing with my disease i thought if i could just have Casa change to meet my wants! Then all would be well no thats not the truth and they made sure to teach me that i was sick mind body and spirit and they promised it would get better if i could just trust the process i did what i wanted and left because i thought i knew best! Didnt take an hour and i was smoking dope agian i still can remember their firm words and all the times they said Mary dont walk out before the miracle i just didn't want to listen. Thank you to all the staff i recently completed a 90 day program and it was because it was there that my treatment began i wasn't ready. I don't usually do reviews but it needs an accurate description on how this place is.I went in on May 17th and got discharged on June 20th of this year. And it was honestly the best thing for getting more help.Yes, I did get exposed to some traumatic experiences but there are a lot of staff there who truly do care about you and the school side is absolutely amazing. Really all you need to do is actually be open to get better and then you'll all good to go.There are obviously still staff members who enforce the rules too much or are mainly just rude in general, but there are so many good ones that I'll list below because they honestly deserve a pay raise.The food here could honestly do better, debating that sometimes the chicken was undercooked, the food kids didn't like as much, and the pizza was always dowey in the middle. That was honestly the main issue when it came to this center, and you can report these issues and they take it into consideration really. The only thing is that it has to come from the kid, cause they don't listen to staff complaints as much. Also, when you ask for your prn, it can take up to an hour or two. This is one of the best facilities my daughter could have gone to when residential treatment becomes an option. The teachers here are amazing. They truly want their students to succeed. Our family therapist connected with my daughter so well that she was able to open up in a comfortable environment and be herself. The whole team did a phenomenal job in advocating for her needs and meeting us where we were at!
