If it wasn't for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. Also thank you all the other counselors and teachers for your amazing support through one of the most difficult times of my life.

My experience at Restore was genuinely meaningful. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect during a time I needed all three. Everyone I interacted with made an effort to understand me as a person, not just someone going through a difficult chapter. I felt supported without feeling judged, and cared for without feeling like I had lost my independence. The environment was comfortable, private, and much more welcoming than I expected from a detox and recovery center. The combination of care, structure, support, and genuine human connection gave me the space I needed to ground myself and think clearly about what I wanted to do moving forward. Restore and the people there had a real impact on me, and I left feeling stronger and more hopeful than when I walked through the doors. I would absolutely recommend Restore. Asking for help can be one of the hardest decisions someone makes. I’m grateful Restore was there when I made mine.

So what do I say about Steven and Restore Detox Centers? When I entered through the doors of this facility, I was a completely defeated and tormented soul as a result of the ravages of addiction. I had arrived at the end of myself! All my own ideas about how to live my life had failed me, but THIS is precisely where the LIGHT stepped in and met me; in the total darkness of my own demolition, destruction, degeneration, degradation and demoralization. I was hopeless! I didn't believe that I could recover from this seemingly hopeless state of mind and body and like the song by America, "Lonely People" states, I believed that "life had passed me by." Well, here I am some time later, and I can HONESTLY share with you, from the very Top of my heart, that my life is indescribably wonderful now. My seconds and minutes and hours of each day were filled with torment and dread! Now, they have been replaced with enthusiastically looking forward to seeing the wonderful friends that I have made, the smiles and hugs that I am greeted with, and the super cool testimonies that I get to continuosly hear! I was asked to take some simple steps (12), not easy but simple, and I was told that I didn't even have to believe. I just had to take these simple actions and they would result in an experience that would prove their effectiveness. If you're in a place of abject bewilderment and confusion and you have come to the end of yourself, please know that a new You is waiting to emerge; a new, Regenerated, Rejuvenated, RESTORED, and Reconciled (to Self, Family, Friends and God) version of You is waiting to be born! And an acutely wonderful place to begin this journey is with Steven and his kind, caring, warm and empathetic staff at Restore Detox Centers. "Don't give up until you drink from the Silver cup and ride that Highway in the Sky!" Let the journey begin!

When my son experienced a relapse, he was only at this facility for a couple of days, but those three days left a lasting impression on our family. From the very beginning, Steven treated both my son and us with genuine compassion, honesty, and respect. He didn't offer false promises or sugarcoat the challenges of recovery, but he also never lost sight of our son as a person who deserved hope and dignity. It was clear that he truly cared—not just about getting someone through detox, but about helping them find a path to lasting recovery. As a parent, feeling understood and supported during such a difficult time meant more than I can express. I am deeply grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and authentic concern we experienced. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where people are treated with both compassion and accountability.

My Husband has been through a lot was addicted to everything was a very agitated man and I am so thankful to have my husband back and it’s all because of this program. He stayed in the copper house for two months and he loved it so much. It was hard to bring him home. He chose his recovery center And he was there because he wanted to be there not because he wanted to be Not because he had to be there. My father has been attending this recovery place. Watching someone you love struggle is one of the most painful experiences life can offer. My father’s journey with addiction affected not only him, but our entire family. This rehab gave my dad a chance to step away from the chaos and begin to face the pain that fueled his addiction. This place has treated him greatly and I'll be forever grateful for what they have done. Since entering the program a few months ago, he has begun the hard work of healing. I finally feel like I have my dad back and could not be more thankful for the staff and everyone else included, truly. I HIGHLY recommend this place for someone and/or a family member struggling with addiction.

Life-Changing Experience at Pacific Bay Recovery Center As a mom, choosing a rehab for my son was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. After researching countless facilities in San Diego, we decided on Pacific Bay Recovery Center, and I can confidently say it was the best decision we ever made. Pacific Bay didn’t just help my son recover—they saved his life. From the very beginning, they treated him like family. The care and compassion from every staff member, from the therapist and psychiatrist to the case managers, were unparalleled. They didn’t just see my son as another patient; they truly invested in his well-being and future. The individualized attention he received made all the difference. The therapists were deeply insightful, helping him understand and address the root causes of his struggles. The psychiatrist provided thoughtful, expert guidance, and the case managers were a source of constant support, ensuring he stayed on track every step of the way. Beyond the clinical care, the atmosphere at Pacific Bay is warm and welcoming—a safe haven for anyone seeking to rebuild their life. They created a nurturing environment where my son felt seen, heard, and valued. Today, my son is thriving, and it’s all thanks to the dedicated team at Pacific Bay. I am forever grateful to them for giving me my son back and helping him rediscover hope, purpose, and joy. If you’re looking for a place that goes above and beyond to treat your loved one with the care they deserve, I cannot recommend Pacific Bay Recovery Center highly enough.

All nurses and doctor was really nice, had an intense migraine 5 days straight, on sixth day I started to vomit, and I straight came here. The whole migraine reason I got is, probably a mixture of things, driving to Yosemite national park for 3 full days, not drinking enough water, hot day, the whole day I would spend in water and under the sun. The last day I jumped in the water, it was cloudy, I jumped from swinging bridge picnic area, I’m assuming it was at least 8ft tall from the river. I jumped at least 6 to 8 times and I literally thought that I would die, once we headed towards our Airbnb, that’s when the headache started. Thank goodness because of this crews at the Grossmont sharp hospital that I am well now.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was a patient at Sharp Grossmont Hospital for almost two weeks, from the end of July 2025 through the beginning of August 2025. Despite everything I was going through, the care I received was outstanding. The doctors, nurses, and every staff member I interacted with treated me with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. They always took the time to answer my questions, made sure I was comfortable, and truly cared about my recovery. The hospital itself was always very clean, and I noticed the staff constantly cleaning and sanitizing the rooms and common areas. After my surgery, I spent about 24 hours in the ASU. The nurses there were absolutely amazing. I especially remember Nolan and the rest of the team. They were by my side the entire time, constantly checking on me, making sure I was comfortable, managing my pain, and helping me feel safe during one of the hardest moments of my life. Their kindness and compassion meant more to me than they will probably ever realize. Because I was recovering from major lung surgery, I requested a larger room since my original room felt too small, especially when I had a few visitors. With my lung condition at the time, I felt like I needed more space. The staff accommodated my request, and I really appreciated their understanding. After I was transferred, my wife found a louse on the guest sleeping bad while changing the sheets. It was definitely upsetting, but I don’t believe it reflected the hospital’s cleanliness. Throughout my stay, I saw the hospital staff cleaning and sanitizing everything every day, so I truly believe it was an isolated incident rather than a sanitation issue. I also want to compliment the food service. For a hospital, the meals were surprisingly good, and the food service team did an excellent job throughout my stay. Most importantly, I want to sincerely thank Dr. Ara S. Klijian, who performed my lung surgery. He did an incredible job. A year later, I feel normal again and have been able to get back to living my life. I will always be grateful for his skill, dedication, and the outstanding care he provided. Overall, I gladly give Sharp Grossmont Hospital five stars. The compassion, professionalism, and quality of care I received made a very difficult time much easier, and I truly appreciate everyone who helped me through my recovery. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of me.

Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding. Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators. In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared. Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer. Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.) I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion. Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all. At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

The IOP program at API was very helpful. I worked with a Behavioral Health Therapist, Jen, who included me in the plan for my care. There are several different kinds of Group Sessions where you learn different skills. The "Processing" session was especially helpful because as others shared their experiences, I realized what I was feeling and going through was similar to others. The IOP program helped foster a sense of community, even though the reasons we are there were different. There are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable staff as well. This place literally SAVED MY LIFE! ♥️🥲 I had an intense Crystal Meth addiction that was systematically destroying my life, my soul, and my relationships with my loved ones. Now, after completing a 4-month residential rehabilitation program here, I have a NEW lease on life and my passion for living and for my future has returned! ♥️🥲 Thank you Stepping Stone staff and my sober community of family I met there!

I’ve been with Serenity Springs Recovery (FKA ACTION Central) since August 14th, 2023. I have found the most success in living life with the help from all the staff I work with, which is a lot. They are attentive to my needs and wants, and assist me to their utmost abilities. Because of them my Quality of Life has skyrocketed astronomically to an apex I never thought even existed. I am living proof recovery works, and I can attest that the ACT *and* SUD staff love their jobs and do it for the clients, not for $$. Thank you Serenity Springs for giving me a brand new chance at happiness and a new lease on life!

My experience from SDCC was pretty good I loved the way my therapists were helping me. the therapists I had were Daniel Davis harden and Christine Roberts they were the best therapists and actually I don't want to leave out Myra Rodriguez all of them were very helpful in my individual and family sessions. but the sad part is that the staff sometimes drop my level when I was on residential side. I don't even remember one of the youth there beating me up when I first got there in academy side (I was on residential side not community this was in 2023). But really the staff were really funny and very well casual enough to hang out with they played basketball with me we played 21 we played actual games and I loved the game room. one of the staff played nba 2k19 and 2k21. I loved this place I recommend this place to people who love nice staff.😆😆

Workers there had very questionable ways of helping, but it worked, tough love. I was being bullied by one of the boys in the residential program while we were at school and mister. Farouq (forgive my spelling) had talked to him and he apologized to me. Miss zoe, miss Sydney, Mr Johnathan, mx tag, miss Alex, mr Farouq, and Mr Andy made my experience there worthwhile. On school side my transitions teacher let me work as an aid in a middle school class (they pay) and that was very fun, one of the only bad things I can say about this place is that every hold ends in bruises or scratches, at least for me, other kids have shared some stories of messed up stuff. Would recommend

I was a client in the Clark Center back in 2010..This places was amazing! School was good and made it easy for kids like myself. Went on field trips during school hours to places like camp coranado and Balboa park, even had a flag football team that played against other flag fb teams around the county. At the Clark center, 4 favorite staff that I remember, also not sure if they still work there, but they genuinely cared about the job and kids they worked with. Mr. O, Mr. Alex, and Mr. Dan and Ms. Tina...Mr. O would wake the unit up every morning for Breakfast and school playing a specific humorous song(forgot it)...I forgot to mention the therapeutic drum program offered at the school and I think it was called Blues Tuesday, where anyone could go up on the stage and perform something musical...This places is one of the few Children's Youth programs in this state that I would recommend

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Small Gym available - Mostly weight lifting. Often Crowded/Limited equipment. ASPRIN/ACETAMEN./IBUPROF.: Headaches, Recovering from workout, you're more likely to access any over the counter pain meds if they're in your property. I am currently a resident at Pathfinders and have been for 2 1/2 months now. I have tried many other programs before, and there has been no better help than Pathfinders. They not only help you abstain from alcohol and/or other drugs, but they will assist you.on getting back on your feet and even drive you ro appointments. I went from being a scared man coming in to actually becoming the house monitor for the Dale st. House and am enrolled into UCSD. There is no.program like this in San Diego.

I went to McAllister at the perfect time when I really needed help. It was a wonderful place - the staff was amazing and it makes you feel like you can really get better and and rule the world again when before I was having so much trouble. This was a safe place to just go relax and heal. They had tons of food and they are very supportive and they let you do what you want pretty much -read and watch movies and you have to only go to one group meeting after 72 hours. For the first 72 hours they let you just sleep and relax and get through the withdrawals And I really really enjoyed being there with Jonathan .. and Sheena, the caseworker and my counselor Wendy .. everybody there was amazing. I meat a lot of kind people there for detox as well. I am very happy now that I’ve been able to sober up and clean up and now I feel like I can move forward thank you all for your help. It was wonderful place! I miss it! Much love Michelle

When I first came to Kiva McAlister with my newborn, I didn’t want to be there and wasn’t motivated at all. But I gave it a chance, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions. The staff is so supportive, and I’ve learned so much that I feel stronger and more confident, not just for myself but for my baby too. I’m leaving with hope and feeling strong enough I won’t go back to my addiction, and I’m grateful for this place!
