They truly do want to see you succeed but you also have to put forth some of the effort yourself to do so. Would recommend to anyone who is struggling with addiction and wants to change. Probably the best residential treatment facility I've ever been to and I've gone to quite a few !

If it wasn't for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. Also thank you all the other counselors and teachers for your amazing support through one of the most difficult times of my life.

Great staff and invaluable lessons for recovery, relationships, personal development, self esteem and parenting classes. 👏 Been here twice, with a break in between, but so glad to come back and be welcomed with open arms and without judgment as a person, an addict and a first time mother going through the many challenges that come with that and other traumatic life events. Thanks so much! If you are in doubt, try it, if you want to improve your life perspective, try it, if you left and still want a helping community, try to come back and give it another shot. Best wishes to my sisters in motherhood and recovery.

My father has been attending this recovery place. Watching someone you love struggle is one of the most painful experiences life can offer. My father’s journey with addiction affected not only him, but our entire family. This rehab gave my dad a chance to step away from the chaos and begin to face the pain that fueled his addiction. This place has treated him greatly and I'll be forever grateful for what they have done. Since entering the program a few months ago, he has begun the hard work of healing. I finally feel like I have my dad back and could not be more thankful for the staff and everyone else included, truly. I HIGHLY recommend this place for someone and/or a family member struggling with addiction.

Life-Changing Experience at Pacific Bay Recovery Center As a mom, choosing a rehab for my son was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. After researching countless facilities in San Diego, we decided on Pacific Bay Recovery Center, and I can confidently say it was the best decision we ever made. Pacific Bay didn’t just help my son recover—they saved his life. From the very beginning, they treated him like family. The care and compassion from every staff member, from the therapist and psychiatrist to the case managers, were unparalleled. They didn’t just see my son as another patient; they truly invested in his well-being and future. The individualized attention he received made all the difference. The therapists were deeply insightful, helping him understand and address the root causes of his struggles. The psychiatrist provided thoughtful, expert guidance, and the case managers were a source of constant support, ensuring he stayed on track every step of the way. Beyond the clinical care, the atmosphere at Pacific Bay is warm and welcoming—a safe haven for anyone seeking to rebuild their life. They created a nurturing environment where my son felt seen, heard, and valued. Today, my son is thriving, and it’s all thanks to the dedicated team at Pacific Bay. I am forever grateful to them for giving me my son back and helping him rediscover hope, purpose, and joy. If you’re looking for a place that goes above and beyond to treat your loved one with the care they deserve, I cannot recommend Pacific Bay Recovery Center highly enough.

My name is Susan, and I’m a recovering alcoholic and addict. I recently completed a stay at Restore Detox in Poway, and I can honestly say they helped save my life. Restore is truly a special place. The home is beautiful and peaceful, set up to host only six clients at a time, which creates an intimate, family-like atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I felt safe, supported, and understood. The staff is not only professional and knowledgeable, but they are also compassionate and genuinely invested in each person’s recovery. The amenities at Restore go far beyond what I expected. There’s a pool, hot tub, and even a pickleball court right on the property. They also bring in a personal trainer and offer yoga sessions, which really helped me reconnect with my body and start healing physically as well as emotionally. The combination of physical activity, relaxation, and structure made a huge difference in my recovery process. The group sessions were incredibly helpful and are led by staff who truly care. Even after leaving, I still attend groups because I’ve found a strong sense of community there. Restore didn’t just help me detox—they gave me tools, hope, and a new beginning. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, I can’t recommend Restore highly enough. Steven Ginsburg is the owner and founder, an amazing person who fully dedicate all his free time and even non-free time till the cause and the people and community at Restore. They helped me get my life back, and for that, I will always be grateful.

Dr. H.D. Lin literally saved my life there in 2004 - I had a 5% chance of survival. Since then, my husband and I have had nothing but great doctors with wonderful staff. Recently I had 2 knee replacements and my husband, 2 hips and now 1 knee replacement. The staff and doctors have always been personable and very attentive to all our needs. We couldn't ask for more and will always recommend doctors at Grossmont. Although the ER tries to do it's best, I have heard that sometimes ERs are separate entities and not always part of the hospitals.

Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding. Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators. In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared. Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer. Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.) I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion. Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all. At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

Compared to most treatment centers this place is awesome. You won’t get along with all the staff but I found Vince and Don (Sarge) to always be respectful and helpful. Thank you again

Staff is exceptional, and structured programs. I would be dead if it were not for API. I know I will never be cured. But is comforting that I know API is one call away.

API changed my life for the better! when I first walked in the door I was so angry and stuck in my own ways. I had no skills on how to navigate through life. I challenged the staff, pushed and pulled. The staff stayed consistent and were so empathetic and graceful. I reached a point where I couldn’t hide and API took the mask off. When that happened my real healing began. I was able to accomplish things I didn’t think I could mentally. DBT and CBT helped drastically. Kim and her whole team are some of the best clinicians and therapists I have come across. I am so grateful for what they have done for me in this period of my life. They truly impacted me and gave me a second chance to live a happy fulfilling life. Highly recommended. What you put in is what you will get out of it, putting in the work is worth it.

Spent a lot of time at API over the years both outpatient and inpatient, and they truly have some of the most caring, attentive, and knowledgeable staff in the behavioral health system here in San Diego. They have stood by me at my worst, and are here now with me at my best cheering me on every step of the way. Every step forward and back they have been so supportive through all my craziness. I will forever be grateful for the people at API helping me get back on me feet.

I have had nothing but outstanding service from this VA clinic Lab. I mainly go there for labs, but have also seen optometry in this clinic. I can only really speak about the laboratory and I’ve gotta say the staff is very pleasant! Now, when I have gone to optometry they were also pleasant.

This outpatient facility for adults uses proven therapeutic approaches and holistic methods to help you reach recovery. Their program focuses on the whole person. They provide medication assisted treatment, using FDA approved medications, like Suboxon
I was referred to Revive from Grossmont Medical to obtain continuity of care due to our rapid, out of state return to California. Traci, my provider was thorough and interested in taking a complete history. The patient navigator helped me with the paperwork and was welcoming and professional. The medical assistants were great--I shrunk 1/4 of an inch and have to lose ten pounds! The front desk manager had the whole process down and made it look easy. Which it is not. I go back in a week and am very grateful for the care and consideration I received.

Lexi Roa is a wonderful therapist! I worked with her as a colleague, and her dedication and commitment to her clients are truly amazing. When I first came to Kiva McAlister with my newborn, I didn’t want to be there and wasn’t motivated at all. But I gave it a chance, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions. The staff is so supportive, and I’ve learned so much that I feel stronger and more confident, not just for myself but for my baby too. I’m leaving with hope and feeling strong enough I won’t go back to my addiction, and I’m grateful for this place!
