They’ve watched me grow into a person who I never thought I could be, and took the time out of their busy schedules to make sure I was okay when I missed dosing due to a deeply personal issue. Richard at the dispensary window has always advocated for me and I actually look forward to going in. With every business, you can’t please everyone but they do try. Please remember that the front desk staff can’t change the rules and are treated horribly day in and day out. Please give them a little grace. I've read most every review, some good some not so good, I believe there is always room for improvement and growth, as for the reviews that really put down the clinic and the staff including the doctor, I would remind anyone reading this that most of the folks that show up here aren't exactly on they're A game right? That's why I'm here, to try and improve myself and my life. At this point in my life I have zero business being critical of others when I'm scrambling to hold together the remaining broken pieces of what I call a life back together.. so I respectfully would caution anyone who reads the not so good reviews to keep the former into consideration. To some of us this is a life and death choice. Don't let someone who's demonstrating their unjustifiable anger keep you from trying to make a positive choice in your life. Honestly, when I first got into their sober living home, I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere. However, I was so far removed from all of the snares and chaos of my life, that it was a relief. I didn't know anyone in Santa Maria, but was glad! I was connected to County services so I could get well, and back to work, and housed again (without a voucher too)! I just needed solid ground to get my footing. Long story short, when it rains, it pours! I experienced a whirlwind of unfortunate events during and after after the pandemic, to the extent I became unable to work, unable to cope, and needed help! The entire staff was great! From my observation, if you treat the staff with respect, they will treat you with respect. If you follow their rules, things will become very easy for you. If you are honest with yourself and staff, things will become very easy for you! They are firm on their policy, as they should be, because they are dealing with lots of people, from various backgrounds. Rise up, to hold yourself accountable for your actions. The staff members at Good Samaritan evaluated my entire situation, and connected me to the services that are now paving the way for success, long after leaving sober living. I can't wait to get to my next destination in life, so I can give back just as soon as I can. I will never forget you all, and cherish Good Samaritan deeply. He is very personable and actually relates to patients by sharing his past and how it’s affected his life in relation to each patient and their own needs. Rather than past counselors who are just by the book, ie(this is what I read so this is how you should react to this, say to that …etc.) Chris has a way of making a negative situation positive even when you don’t think it is possible or fair. Chris is a huge asset to Aegis and they would be at a major disadvantage if they were to lose him. Ginger and Jim are very well trained friendly and understanding nurses who are fast and accurate at dealing with many patients daily. Faith, Cindy, Brooke, Cami, and Jeff are also amazing staff members who have made a difference in my life. They go above and beyond to help patients in personal ways showing they actually care about each patient as a person not just completing the bare minimum requirements to keep their job. All these staff member’s are what make Aegis more family like, not just a Dr office setting. Each one of them has made a personal difference in my life and I am grateful to each one of them for what they have done to make my life better. This programs groups worked as well as a form of therapy for me. The confidentiality and understanding of my peers or others in the program was very important and helped me regain confidence. I now feel how a better understanding to the laws and regulations of driving and being under the influence/intoxicated. This program was educational as well as resourceful. The interprofessional staff members are well educated in the unique needs of the young girls/women who have come to Casa for help. They are compassionate and so encouraging. While our daughter received exceptional care at Casa, we, as family members were also invited to attend weekly ZOOM meetings with other parents, spouses affected by various addictions. The meetings helped us to see that we were not alone in this journey with our daughter and helped us move forward with our lives. I will always be so thankful for Casa and the support they continue to give. It was definitely the best place our daughter ever went to for her alcoholism. After 248 days, she remains sober. One day at a time! She continues to go to the alumni meetings on Wednesday night at Casa. My experience wasn’t terrible. There were pros and cons for sure, these were: Pros: Really good food Outings were fun If you were level 3 and above, you could go on off site visitations with your family Cons: Leveled me down on my last week while I had been withdrawing from two meds (Abilify and Zoloft) Made me sit through an intense PTSD flashback and didn’t let me do anything to distract myself (it was to practice a skill, but i really needed help and i felt very distressed) Tried to punish me and make me stay an extra week for feeling suicidal after leveling me down Didn’t really do much when another kid was making me feel uncomfortable by making me feel overstimulated But it was not a very bad experience. I’ve been to two residential treatment centers (both evolve) and this one was definitely the best one I’ve been to. Avery 7 months ago My son had a great experience here. The team is stellar and treated him like he was their own family. We had a few rough days and they were amazing with keeping me in the loop and making sure to carry out my wishes. He was diagnosed within the first month of what his mental health issues were and they treated him according to what they thought was best for him.
