Those struggling and/or in need of help, Reflections is the perfect place.
Reflections is differentiated in a few ways. First, their approach is holistic; it's about more than just getting sober. The program includes reading and educational sessions, group discussions/therapy, individual therapy, and a personalized recovery plan. The professionals at Reflections are fantastic with a wide range of issues, including co-occurring disorders. And my program was tailored to involve my loved ones as much or as little as I preferred. Second, as much as it's possible, it's a fun and enjoyable experience. The food is phenomenal, the facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, and the environment is friendly and collegial (with both staff and fellow residents). Third, and most importantly, Reflections is one of the (if not the only) independently owned facilities in the area. This means that staff optimizes around what's best for the resident, and not what's just best for insurance. They truly care about each individual far more than the bottom line, which is apparent in both treatment issues as well as collaborative payment/insurance resolutions.
I have two pieces of constructive feedback. One, I recommend stronger communication channels and coordination between the clinical staff and the operations team. I can only imagine how challenging it is to handle the ever-shifting complex operations at Reflections (e.g., living arrangements, staffing, scheduling, speakers, unforeseen individual needs), so it's no easy task. But occasionally there was some confusion on schedule changes with session content and/or timing. However, we were able to quickly resolve these issues as they were raised. And second, my arrival/onboarding was a bit scattered and piecemeal. I did arrive last minute, and my situation was unique (as previously discussed with staff, I moved between the McClay and Simmons facilities after a couple of days). But I would recommend that one staff person be assigned the holistic onboarding process that's completed/reviewed as the resident is acclimating to the program. Those two issues are minor, but I wanted to be comprehensive in my feedback.
I built very strong relationships there, ones that I continue to value and maintain months later. I get together with my fellow residents, and I love seeing staff members at meetings and events around the Bay. I feel like I have a new lease on life. I am not happy that I spent time in a facility such as this, but it being necessary, I am thrilled that I chose Reflections for this brief chapter of my (new and much improved) life.

The six weeks that I spent at Reflections was a lifesaver. In particular, I appreciated their respect of my wanting to be treated like an intelligent adult and one who is not interested in the AA program.

| Live Oaks Wellness, located in Novato, California is a private drug rehab center that specializes in the treatment of addiction rehab. | Treatments Programs Payment Options | What an unbelievable miracle Live Oaks Wellness Center has been in our family’s life. From the very beginning, Marcelo Nazarian — the Director of Admissions and Clinical Outreach — went above and beyond to support us. Even before my child entered their care, Marcelo personally spoke with him to offer reassurance and compassion, and a thoughtful, structured plan was already in place.
Throughout the past year, Marcelo has continued to stand by our side, showing a level of commitment and care that is truly rare. Jake was equally incredible — always available, always listening, and always willing to connect with any of us in the family. His ability to support not just our son but all of us made a lasting impact.
Our son made real progress at Live Oaks, and a full year later, we were able to work with the team to develop a thoughtful transition plan. Even now, long after his time there, Marcelo continues to check in — or picks up the phone when I need someone to talk to. That level of care and ongoing connection is something I’ve never seen before.
Addiction that begins in the early teen years is incredibly complex, and the road to recovery is never straightforward. While our roller coaster has not ended, I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be without Marcelo and Jake Tedesco. Their compassion, consistency, and willingness to show up day after day — even when things were hard — made all the difference. They truly are a safe pair of hands and make you feel a little less alone.
There are no words that fully capture our gratitude. Live Oaks gave us hope when we needed it most — and for that, we are forever thankful.

I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible program Live Oaks Wellness offered me… the incredible staff, therapist, and the amazing people I met while I was there has changed my life, FOREVER!
Before walking through the doors I had no idea what to expect, this was my first time in treatment. I was scared but was immediately able to completely surrender with the warm welcome by ALL.
They made sure I felt at home, but most Importantly made me feel safe and comfortable through the entire program.
They not only offer a VERY comfortable detox (which was my biggest worry) but they offer SOOO MUCH MORE…
A spacious, clean & cozy house with a swimming pool, basketball court, huge backyard incredible therapy, private chef, outings, private workouts, art therapy, AA/NA meetings, the list goes on!
If you are someone who is struggling with addiction and YOU’RE in need of help, don’t hesitate 🙏🏽 Live Oaks Wellness is your first step in your/our journey to becoming FREE again.

TL;DR: Live Oaks Wellness is a life-changing rehab center that supported me through two of the most difficult times in my life. My first stay taught me invaluable lessons, and after a relapse, my second stay solidified my recovery and led to a profound spiritual awakening. The compassionate staff, beautiful location, and evolving programs helped me rediscover purpose and regain control of my life. I owe them everything for helping me become a new person.
Live Oaks Wellness is one of the best rehab centers in California. Jack and the team were there for me when my life was hanging by a thread, guiding me through some of the darkest moments of my life. I went twice—once to start my journey and again after a relapse—but not because they didn’t do their job. It took me two stays to confront the deeper issues I wasn’t ready to face.
Here’s a detailed account of both visits:
First Stay:
I was terrified when I first went to rehab. My marriage was on the brink, and I was completely lost. Arriving at Live Oaks Wellness in Novato, California, was a relief. The facility, set on a beautiful private property with serene hills, a peaceful garden, a basketball court, and a swimming pool, felt like a haven.
The staff welcomed me with care and compassion. Tim, the head of medical, became a trusted friend, guiding me through detox and beyond. My private room was like a hotel suite—comfortable and equipped with everything I needed to unwind.
Once detox was over, I joined the other five residents. With only six people at a time, the experience was intimate. The facility had endless snacks, entertainment, and a huge TV to relax with. The daily schedule was full of therapy, physical activities, and support meetings. Each day started with a check-in and ended with reflection, keeping me grounded.
The relationships I formed were unforgettable. The residents are carefully screened, ensuring a positive environment. After 30 days, I felt transformed, and they helped set me up with aftercare to continue my recovery.
Second Stay:
After 265 days sober, my life fell apart. My wife and I lost our second baby, and hours later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I relapsed, and the next two months were a nightmare. My wife helped me reconnect with Jack, and I re-entered Live Oaks.
The relapse wasn’t the program’s fault but my failure to maintain the practices I learned. Returning was the wake-up call I needed.
The second stay was even better than the first. The program had expanded with new therapies and in-person meetings. Frequent outings to the ocean and nature walks helped me reconnect with the world. It was a game-changer after Zoom meetings in my first stay.
This time, I experienced a profound spiritual awakening and discovered a higher purpose I never knew existed. I don’t see my relapse as failure but as part of my journey. Live Oaks helped me become a better, stronger version of myself.
Live Oaks is more than just rehab. It’s a place where lives are rebuilt, and people rediscover their strength. If you're considering treatment, I can’t recommend them enough.

Avery Lane offers medical detox, residential alcohol and | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I just discharged from the Atherton house. It was a lovely place. As a woman who has experienced so much trauma in my life (of all kinds) I have a hard time feeling safe especially around strangers and in a new place. I have to admit that I felt very safe just like I was at home. I was at home; Avery Lane Atherton facility was my home. Temporarily. I made friends with all of the other women (clients). The other women were all friendly and welcoming to me. It's never easy going to rehab but if it was; this place is a good way for it to feel that way. The therapists are highly educated and skilled. My therapist (Summer LanFranco) helped rewire my brain in literally 60 days. She has to be God sent because she works miracles. I'm a walking miracle in the sense that I am actually living on my own and I am not completely depressed or in a crisis. I never thought I could do it. I didn't know how. And that is okay because I don't have to have all the answers or any answers for the matter just the want to and today I do want to because I now know it's possible. I used to want to die I mean I really didn't want to live. I was so scared and stressed out about being alone and scared. I'm not scared anymore either. I mean there were times when I looked at her sideways and even talked some shit with the other women (nothing horrible just the usual bitching lol) but I always had to take it back because she was so good at what she does she was helping me when I didn't even expect or know what was happening. She is so talented I have to give her credit simply because I pay my debts now lol and she has earned it. I used to think that I was going to die by suicide or a fentanyl overdose but I don't think like that anymore. I have to of course give all the Glory to the Good Lord for if it was not supposed to be it would not so thank you heavenly Father for always keeping me in your favor. Thank you Avery Lane.
Ps
You can't watch any television except for Saturday night movie night where you are alotted 1 movie that the ENTIRE HOUSE MUST AGREE ON And it can't be anything entertaining (sex drugs vulgar language drinking gang activity or anything that is too sad depressing reminds you of something bad or triggers you THERES ALWAYS THAT ONE WHO MANIPULATES THE STAFF TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS but you might get to go to Peet's coffee on Saturday not guaranteed though also no candy or junk food or soda WHATSOEVER
They have chefs
Mary was my absolute favorite
She would bake us cakes cookies and goodies
Thank you Mary
She made it easy for me to be there
The most inspiring and uplifting woman to have small chat with
Chef Mary really deserves recognition for accommodating the women and what we wanted
Anne
Well I am so sick of tuna, mushroom soup and curry or artichokes I'm never eating them again
I don't understand why we had a chef there who made food that I could have made just as crappy as I could(tuna sandwiches so basic no pickles no nothing). Not to mention the same bagels and salmon every week. We ALL DREADED ANNE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE DIDN'T LEAVE ANY DISHES FROM COOKING BUT WE WOULD HAVE RATHER DISHES THAN BLAND BASIC FOOD. Not to mention that I don't eat shell fish or fish and those things were prepared at least 4 or 5 times a week so that's how many meals I would go without because accomodations were just too much to ask for of the chef who has 3 hours to make a bunch of tuna sandwiches for 5 women who secretly despise it.
Thank you Chef Derek for the most delicious. WHOOPY!!!! Pies I've ever eaten in my life.
Other than that.....
Oh yes the Two Recovery counselors both named Lizzie. Those are the two names that you need to know. Natalie Judit and of course SUMMER are going to teach you how to grow mentally emotionally spiritually and physically. By the time you leave you will be a whole new woman. So pay attention in their groups.

I recently completed a 30 day program at Avery Lane, and I can t express enough gratitude for the support and care I received from the Recovery Counselors and Nicole, my therapist. From day one, the Recovery Counselors created a safe and compassionate environment, offering encouragement and guidance that truly helped me stay focused on my sobriety journey. They were always there to listen, answer questions, and provide the tools I needed to navigate my personal challenges.Nicole, my therapist, was instrumental in my recovery. Her expertise, empathy, and tailored approach made a huge difference in my healing process. She helped me work through difficult emotions, recognize underlying issues, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I felt truly seen and understood, which was incredibly empowering during my 30 days there. Thanks to the team at Avery Lane, I now have a solid foundation to continue building on my sobriety journey. I highly recommend this center to anyone seeking a supportive and dedicated team to guide them toward recovery.
