8.08 / 10 | Reflections Executive Rehab Facility is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Novato, CA. They provide residential addiction treatment. Reflections Executive Dual Diagnosis Rehab in Novato, California, is a treatment center that specializes in providing customized dual diagnosis treatment. They’re staffed with a team of therapists, healthcare pract | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I'm writing this review as a family member (not a patient) but I have only positive things to say about my entire experience with Reflections.
Several months ago, my brother was in a very dangerous place in his life. It got to the point where we feared for his life on a weekly basis and knew we had to do something urgently. Our family staged an intervention and successfully got my brother to agree to inpatient treatment. After extensive research, I found that Reflections was our best option, and I believe choosing Reflections is a decision that may have saved his life.
From the very first phone call I had with program director Olejan, I felt a level of genuine care, intelligence, nuance, and humanity that Olejan brought to our conversations. He wasn't trying to sell us the program or anything like that. We had heart-to-heart conversations that made me feel like Reflections would be our partner in my brother's recovery.
I felt confident in the credentialed clinical team they have there with Dr. Hanna, and reassured that the level of care my brother would receive would be top-notch, with more one-to-one therapeutic care than what most inpatient treatment centers could offer in Los Angeles. My brother's main therapist at Reflections was Stewart Bryant, and they formed an amazing relationship that my brother cherished during his stay.
Week by week I would check in with my brother while he was at Reflections, and just hearing him progressively become more clear-headed, alert, deeply reflecting, emotionally available and vulnerable and willing to speak about everything, working through foundational issues in his life, being more optimistic and committed to his sobriety - it was so profoundly encouraging to see the signs of his work at Reflections really taking root.
To any family member reading this while desperately searching for the right place for someone you love: Reflections was an amazing option and I highly recommend you reach out and speak to Olejan who will wholeheartedly address any concerns you may have about Reflections being a good match for your family member in need of treatment.
Thank you to the entire Reflections staff for giving my brother high-quality treatment. I am forever thankful to them for being that pivotal first step in my brother's road to full recovery!

Literally saved my life and my marriage! After multiple behavior boot camp style programs, the incredible credentialed clinical staff helped my husband dig deep into the causes of his intense anxiety and control issues affecting our marriage particularly when he was self medicating to escape from the pain. We are so grateful to everyone at Reflections from the executive team to the support staff, each of them delivering compassionate and skilled guidance from intensive and individualized therapies to navigating the maze of insurance. Their inclusive family program literally got us working as a team once more.

My family member had an excellent experience here. From the helpfulness and warmth of the Executive Director, who made the transition from detox to rehab seamless, to the drug and alcohol and mental health counseling by two top-notch professionals, this program was intense, positive, and effective. The environment was safe and welcoming because of the trained, warm, and supportive staff. Almost everyone there was in recovery so they walked the walk. The accommodations were beautiful and peaceful, and the food was amazing and plentiful. Evening AA and NA meetings were available to clients who chose to attend. The staff helped to facilitate hard-to-navigate responsibilities, such as going to doctor's appointments and the California disability office. Most of all, my family member left with a new lease on life, deep friendships, and great hope for a sober future. I highly recommend Reflections!

Thank you Live Oaks Wellness. When I received the phone call in the middle of the night that my college aged daughter was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. I didn’t know where to turn. Live Oaks Wellness came highly recommended from three sources, including a trusted family friend. Who also had a loved one go through the program successfully. Their staff quickly responded in managing the transition for getting my daughter into their exceptional inpatient program. She had a great experience and she has been sober and doing great since. Couldn’t have done it without the phenomenal team at Live Oaks Wellness. Thank you very much. Highly recommended!

Our son has been struggling with addiction for several years. He chose to go to rehab 9 months ago and found four months of sobriety but then relapsed thus starting a relapse/rehab cycle. He has been in 7 different programs during this time. At each program they would give him new and more meds, to the point he was barely able to stay awake or fully engage in conversation. I would tell everyone possible that his meds needed adjusting but it only seemed to get worse. Finally, after his 5th relapse in 3 months, he ended up at Live Oaks. Right away their clinical team recognized that his meds were ‘ridiculous and negligent’. For the first time since our son started his recovery journey we actually were able to talk to someone from the medical team. Tim, the onsite RN spoke with us at length several times and iterated his determination to get our son set on a better path. This included connecting him with a psychiatrist who is now the only person who can alter Logan’s meds.
When our son got to LO he was in a spiral and 4 days later chose to leave LO on his own and promptly relapsed. After only 15 hours away he chose to return. He stayed for another week, but during this short time Jacob, Tim, Marcelo and the techs bent over backwards to support him. Jacob was up most of the night engaging with Logan during his relapse. I’m certain that is why he chose to return. Logan has ultimately chose to go to an SLE/PHP program down in Encinitas, Immersive, and seems to be thriving there. This choice was at the recommendation of Jacob who knows the program well. All of the team, including Tim the RN who flew down to San Diego with Logan, have been instrumental in helping Logan transition to his new environment. I cannot thank the team at LO enough for the support, expertise and dedication to our son. We’ve experienced several programs and Live Oaks was by far the most instrumental in helping our son, even though he was only there for a short time. My husband and I are forever grateful for their care, compassion and professionalism! If you are looking for a recovery program for yourself or a loved one—start here! I wish we would have!

I cannot Recommend Avery Lane Recovery for Women highly enough. From the moment I arrived the supportive and compassionate staff and professionals made me feel supported and understood. I wish I had gone to Avery Lane at 24 years old instead of at 64, for my addictive behaviors. I learned so much about myself and finally live my life with more authenticity, calm and ease. This was my first time in recovery; I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t expect the settings and houses to be so beautiful, quiet and welcoming. The houses are large while keeping the number of women living there small. Eight women is a common number, ages range from 24-70 which sounds impossible but it somehow works! Rooms are shared with one other roommate close in age, or single rooms are available. The food is made daily from fresh ingredients by a committed group of chefs, one of which will break out in song! They tend to make more vegetable dishes than carbs. It sounds to good to be true, but, the program was not what I expected and exceeded my expectations. Group classes and activities like swimming, hiking, and outings are scheduled everyday. NA, AA, Dharma, and other types of support groups are attended in the early evenings. These meetings offer support and help to familiarize clients with various types of programs available in their own communities. Daily group and twice weekly one-on-one therapy sessions are led by practicing, licensed, and published women therapists who are on the cutting edge of women’s recovery, trauma, and the building of life skills for navigating addiction. I learned so much in a short time and will continue to be grateful to the staff for their insights and dedication. I would highly recommend Avery Lane to women of any age suffering from addiction and needing to get their life back.

GGR led a foundation for my new path in life. The staff is incredible and caring. I never thought I’d be able to reach 7 months and counting of continuous sobriety and I owe it to GGR for the success I’ve had. Not only is their residential program phenomenal, they set me up with after care which has been a blessing. Anyone looking to finally overcome the challenges of starting their new life, I’d recommend GGR to them.

San Rafael, CA | Bayside Marin Treatment Center is an addiction treatment center that offers drug and alcohol misuse recovery services to individuals living in the San Rafael, California, area. They have plenty to offer with a ton of therapy services and multiple levels of care, including detox services, residential treatment, outpatient programs (OP) and aftercare | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Mine is no fake ad. Bayside Marin has many Veterans, Cops and Firemen as patients. Perhaps the disaffected reviewers found it difficult to accept the presence of soldiers and cops. Some of the younger patients had spotty health plans---that could cause anxiety. Yet I've never read so many accusations backed with so little evidence...... This was my first detox. It took me another year to quit. Bayside is posh with nice architecture, furniture, computers, view and food. A kind and caring staff of pros. I never felt discounted or dismissed. Our group was supervised by a nice Argentine nurse....An eight day detox. I should have been placed with the old cops, firemen and SF union folk. But as always, I was placed with the youth. 80% of us were veterans. I admire the young veterans, but I had little in common with them. Yet it was the first time in my life I got to hang with soldiers and Vets. I have unending gratitude toward Bayside for their treatment and to the VA for sending a wretch like me to find a cure.

Bayside Marin is an excellent treatment center, I'd rate it #2 in northern California.
At first, I didn't want to go here, mainly because of negative reviews and hearsay from an acquaintance, and corporate ownership.
But I quickly changed my mind. I came here devestated by a very traumatic year of my life, in as much of a mental health crisis as I was in a substance one. Throughout the length of my stay, I was treated with understanding, patience and compassion.
The bulk of their program is cookie cutter evidence based, but high quality.
The employees at Bayside really care about their work, and their clients, and because of this it didn't have a corporate feel, even though they're owned by Acadia.
What made this stay extra special for me was the therapy and one on one conversations I had with staff. I had the honor and privilege of working with the best therapist I've ever seen. When there's a true match with therapy it can be magical, spiritual. I have transformed into a better version of myself because of the one on one work with my therapist, whose intelligence, wit, patience, and compassion helped me to rise above and shine, despite facing some extremely challenging triggers in residential this time. When you can't fully care about yourself, sometimes you can borrow someone else's faith in you until you're able to care about yourself a little more. By the end of my stay, I felt more confident and centered than I had in a long time.
I also wanted to say, the tech supervisor helped guide me psychologically and spiritually as I faced various challenges at Bayside, and helped revive my interest in spirituality, meditation and awakening.
I had the best spiritual and psychological support I could have asked for, which I thought would be impossible after being at Olympia House in 2022. (Both are good rehabs with their unique strengths and weaknesses. I learned a lot at both, but they're not directly comparable, OH is a little more unique in terms of approach and programming. Bayside was extra meaningful because of the particular therapist I worked with, the behavioral technician supervisor I mentioned and the particular clients I bonded with.
They actually listen to client feedback and I watched them make numerous improvements over the three months I was there.
With that said, there is room for further improvement. Clients are shuffled over to the main campus from detox with very little explanation of where to go and when, which leaves freshly detoxed clients confused, angry, and feeling disrespected. I've been told they're working on fixing this problem.
Scheduling glitches do happen, but that's true of any medium or large rehab. They do their best. And also, sometimes communication can be a little complicated between departments. No place is perfect.
Gorgeous campus. Food was great. I was told this was a rehab for rich people who valued aesthetics over content, but that's not what I found here. They have some incredible talent working for them and client socioeconomic backgrounds are mixed.
2026 update: I've had to return to Bayside and things have only gotten better, taking my review from 4 stars to 5. A lot of mediocre therapists have left, replaced by excellent ones, and they have made subtle but noticable improvements to the programming. I'm SO grateful for Bayside Marin, one of the finest treatment centers in northern California and perhaps the country.
Last. I would encourage people, strongly, to ask to change their therapist if the initial assignment isn't a match. I did, and it made all the difference in my stay.

Petaluma, CA | Olympia House is in Petaluma, California. It’s a residential and outpatient rehab for folks with alcohol and substance addictions. They’ll enroll you in detox, medication assisted treatment, and counseling, depending on your needs. Let’s start with detox. Medical detox consists of receiving meds to help make your withdrawal symptoms less seve | Treatments Programs Payment Options | By far. the best (out of 7 total) rehab facilities I've ever been to. They actually do trauma therapy, and you get sessions with a licensed psychologist twice a week, in addition to your drug counselor. The very best therapists I have EVER worked with. And the best drug counselor I've ever had.
I've been looking for therapy like this, and the answers I got at Olympia House, for 20 years. They are the most skilled, caring, and professional team of people I've ever worked with in mental health. I'm dual diagnosis, so I've been seeing professionals for my mental health for 25 years.
Some of their curriculum is custom, developed in house by the psychologists there—you won't find tools like these anywhere else. I have a custom designed "addictive system" I use every day to track where I am in my recovery and mental health. I use this not only to prevent relapses, but correct myself if I run off course, and this works not just for substance relapses but also things like depression, anxiety, and anger.
Their website doesn't reflect this, but they take Kaiser Permanente insurance now. That's the only reason I was able to come here.
I know reviews are inflated on the Internet, but please trust me, I swear with every fiber of my being and every ounce of integrity I have, this is likely the best rehab in California. If you have trauma, and most people do, or some form of PTSD, this is the place you should go.
They also focus on finding meaning and purpose in life--and they will definitely help you with that.
They also allow you to come back to the rehab twice a year for 2-3 days for free! They call it a "tune up". No one else I know of does this. There's also free group therapy for alumni (a process group led by one of the therapists there) once a week via Zoom.
I would wake up many times in OH in disbelief that this place exists at all, and that I got to be a resident here. They've made an enormous difference in the outcome of my life.
******ADDENDUM******
I recently read a review of OH where someone on the autism spectrum had a difficult experience. I'm sorry to hear that, but I simply wanted to say I'm (diagnosed) autistic (ASD 1/Aspergers) myself and felt that OH not only understood the strengths and limitations that can come with that, but also caused me to realize I had overestimated how different I was from my peers because of my autism. I still have it, of course, but the result of being at OH was a clearer picture of its actual impact in my life, particularly with peer relationships. I can't thank them enough for helping me with this, I have a much healthier social life today as a result.

First the facility and the land it's on is beyond beautiful. Couldn't ask for a better place to wake up everyday while recovering.
Everyone that works for O.H genuinely cares. They make u feel like you unique and special. They offer soo many different activities and teach you so much about yourself and addiction. They give you the tools and resources for when you leave.
They do not turn anyone away UNLESS you require more specialized care being that they are not a hospital with a doctor on site.
By far the best rehab in northern California

Olympia House Rehabilitation in Petaluma, California saved my life as well as countless others!
The intense inpatient program includes psychologists, counselors, process group meetings, group classes, one on one meetings as well as yoga, guided meditation, animal therapy, garden, therapy, art and music too.
Olympia House is situated on quiet, peaceful, and safe, 100+ acre farm/ranch.
The doctors, couselors, and staff all work to help identify the root cause of the core distortions that contribute to substance abuse. The focus of the residents mind, body, and spirit are all addressed.
Additionally, there is a lifetime of free continuous care for the alumni that includes zoom process groups, AA/NA meetings, visits once a year for two days at the house. The alumni portion of treatment is all free of charge. I cannot say enough good things regarding Olympia House. I highly recommend this program. Thank you, Sherry P.

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...!
What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!!
I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" I highly recommend this amazing treatment facility, and hope you do not waste another second deciding on when to start your "road to recovery" at New Bridge - because it starts the moment you say "Yes"..!!!
"Thank You New Bridge...!!!"

I am beyond grateful to have spent 30 days at this facility. They don’t have many patients at once so I did not have to worry so much about others while I was there and able to focus solely on myself.
Big shout out to Alicia and Gus.
Alicia helped me deal with my HR Rep and insurance so that I didn’t have to. I don’t know that I could have done anything of the sort during that first week. I came in having zero knowledge of how any of it worked and Alicia was able to answer all of my questions and help with whatever was needed. I felt that Alicia truly looked out for each client.
As a technician, Gus really took the time and effort to help me with the entire process. I was clueless when I first walked in but I felt taken care of and looked after. I felt that Gus really cared for all of the patients on a personal level. He tried to connect with each of us and shared his knowledge and hope with the whole group.
Overall, I felt safe here. Which is huge when dealing with addiction and being afraid of asking for help. I was able to worry only about my recovery knowing that everything else was being looked after. I recommend to anyone dealing with addiction needing to separate themselves from their substance as the first step on their recovery journey.

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.

We're grateful to Muir Wood for having helped our family through a terrible crisis. While our son was there, the rest of the family slept easily knowing he was in the care of compassionate, expert staff. The doctors, therapists, and staff there are all excellent. They're experienced, and have seen it all. What a relief! The program my son participated in was comprehensive, from getting great nutrition from an on-site chef, to engaging in personal and group therapy, as well as attending outside meetings. Muir Wood returned him to improved physical and mental health, and he was able to take responsibility for and pride in his sobriety. The family program is excellent, including individual family therapy and multi-family group discussion. Through the expertise of the affiliated guest speakers at the group meetings, our whole family learned a lot about how to manage addiction of our roles. All of us, including our son, are stronger because of Muir Wood's program.

Muirwood is a cadillac facility in every way! I was impressed with every facet of the program, the facilities, the staff, the family resources, discharge resources etc. If one has to go through this nightmare experience of substance abuse and all that entails, this is a safe landing place for our sons and an invaluable resource for us as families, not only while our son is there in treatment, but in terms of being set up to move forward after treatment as well. I am forever grateful to Muirwood and so thankful my son was able to be there at such a critical time in his life!

I invested a lot of time into writing this review because I want to genuinely help anyone considering Ohlhoff. Having spent significant time in both the rooms and the office, I can provide a full perspective that might aid you in your decision-making process regarding sobriety and also a place I like to call my second home, Ohlhoff.
My experience in Ohlhoff recovery has been an incredible journey of growth and self-discovery. As someone who believes that we, as people, are always growing and evolving, I found it essential to approach my recovery with an open mind and a willingness to learn. This program gave me the opportunity to do just that.
I realized that part of this process was letting go of what I thought I knew and allowing the professionals here to guide me. Their expertise, care, and dedication made it clear that recovery is more than just overcoming addiction; it's about reshaping your mindset and embracing new perspectives.
The environment here fosters both learning and growth. While the lessons are serious and impactful, the program also knows how to balance that with engaging and supportive activities. This combination made my recovery feel both challenging and fulfilling.
If you're reading this review, know that you are capable of change. Trust the process, trust the professionals, and most importantly, trust yourself to embrace this journey. This program has truly been life-changing for me, and I'm leaving with a clearer understanding of myself and the tools to continue evolving.
This program incorporates your beliefs and experience while maintaining a hopeful and encouraging tone. If you or someone you know is contemplating taking this significant step toward sobriety, I highly recommend considering Ohlhoff. The supportive environment and dedicated staff can truly make a difference. I hope this review helps you or a loved one in making this life-changing decision.

I can't ask for more, except perhaps some withholding of judgement... But of course,...it could be me, the silence when I enter the place and say "hi" and get no reply ...
Otherwise, the place is doing it's job... Although I wonder what the official job title and description is (Of Veteran Case Managers or anyone assigned a potential influence over my fate) ...and what freedoms they are given to recommend a vet to, say, a place they know the vet won't fit in...
...we all know when someone bears you Ill will, and when it's those assigned to your care, however minor, it Instills distrust in our institutions.
