Those struggling and/or in need of help, Reflections is the perfect place.
Reflections is differentiated in a few ways. First, their approach is holistic; it's about more than just getting sober. The program includes reading and educational sessions, group discussions/therapy, individual therapy, and a personalized recovery plan. The professionals at Reflections are fantastic with a wide range of issues, including co-occurring disorders. And my program was tailored to involve my loved ones as much or as little as I preferred. Second, as much as it's possible, it's a fun and enjoyable experience. The food is phenomenal, the facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, and the environment is friendly and collegial (with both staff and fellow residents). Third, and most importantly, Reflections is one of the (if not the only) independently owned facilities in the area. This means that staff optimizes around what's best for the resident, and not what's just best for insurance. They truly care about each individual far more than the bottom line, which is apparent in both treatment issues as well as collaborative payment/insurance resolutions.
I have two pieces of constructive feedback. One, I recommend stronger communication channels and coordination between the clinical staff and the operations team. I can only imagine how challenging it is to handle the ever-shifting complex operations at Reflections (e.g., living arrangements, staffing, scheduling, speakers, unforeseen individual needs), so it's no easy task. But occasionally there was some confusion on schedule changes with session content and/or timing. However, we were able to quickly resolve these issues as they were raised. And second, my arrival/onboarding was a bit scattered and piecemeal. I did arrive last minute, and my situation was unique (as previously discussed with staff, I moved between the McClay and Simmons facilities after a couple of days). But I would recommend that one staff person be assigned the holistic onboarding process that's completed/reviewed as the resident is acclimating to the program. Those two issues are minor, but I wanted to be comprehensive in my feedback.
I built very strong relationships there, ones that I continue to value and maintain months later. I get together with my fellow residents, and I love seeing staff members at meetings and events around the Bay. I feel like I have a new lease on life. I am not happy that I spent time in a facility such as this, but it being necessary, I am thrilled that I chose Reflections for this brief chapter of my (new and much improved) life.

The six weeks that I spent at Reflections was a lifesaver. In particular, I appreciated their respect of my wanting to be treated like an intelligent adult and one who is not interested in the AA program.

Top 10 Rehab In Novato
| You’ll find Live Oaks Wellness in Novato, California. This addiction treatment center serves adults aged 18 and older. You can begin your recovery journey with detox and residential treatment, including dual diagnosis care. You can pay for treatment with most major health insurance plans. Private pay options are also available. Holistic Recov | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Our son has been struggling with addiction for several years. He chose to go to rehab 9 months ago and found four months of sobriety but then relapsed thus starting a relapse/rehab cycle. He has been in 7 different programs during this time. At each program they would give him new and more meds, to the point he was barely able to stay awake or fully engage in conversation. I would tell everyone possible that his meds needed adjusting but it only seemed to get worse. Finally, after his 5th relapse in 3 months, he ended up at Live Oaks. Right away their clinical team recognized that his meds were ‘ridiculous and negligent’. For the first time since our son started his recovery journey we actually were able to talk to someone from the medical team. Tim, the onsite RN spoke with us at length several times and iterated his determination to get our son set on a better path. This included connecting him with a psychiatrist who is now the only person who can alter Logan’s meds.
When our son got to LO he was in a spiral and 4 days later chose to leave LO on his own and promptly relapsed. After only 15 hours away he chose to return. He stayed for another week, but during this short time Jacob, Tim, Marcelo and the techs bent over backwards to support him. Jacob was up most of the night engaging with Logan during his relapse. I’m certain that is why he chose to return. Logan has ultimately chose to go to an SLE/PHP program down in Encinitas, Immersive, and seems to be thriving there. This choice was at the recommendation of Jacob who knows the program well. All of the team, including Tim the RN who flew down to San Diego with Logan, have been instrumental in helping Logan transition to his new environment. I cannot thank the team at LO enough for the support, expertise and dedication to our son. We’ve experienced several programs and Live Oaks was by far the most instrumental in helping our son, even though he was only there for a short time. My husband and I are forever grateful for their care, compassion and professionalism! If you are looking for a recovery program for yourself or a loved one—start here! I wish we would have!

What an unbelievable miracle Live Oaks Wellness Center has been in our family’s life. From the very beginning, Marcelo Nazarian — the Director of Admissions and Clinical Outreach — went above and beyond to support us. Even before my child entered their care, Marcelo personally spoke with him to offer reassurance and compassion, and a thoughtful, structured plan was already in place.
Throughout the past year, Marcelo has continued to stand by our side, showing a level of commitment and care that is truly rare. Jake was equally incredible — always available, always listening, and always willing to connect with any of us in the family. His ability to support not just our son but all of us made a lasting impact.
Our son made real progress at Live Oaks, and a full year later, we were able to work with the team to develop a thoughtful transition plan. Even now, long after his time there, Marcelo continues to check in — or picks up the phone when I need someone to talk to. That level of care and ongoing connection is something I’ve never seen before.
Addiction that begins in the early teen years is incredibly complex, and the road to recovery is never straightforward. While our roller coaster has not ended, I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be without Marcelo and Jake Tedesco. Their compassion, consistency, and willingness to show up day after day — even when things were hard — made all the difference. They truly are a safe pair of hands and make you feel a little less alone.
There are no words that fully capture our gratitude. Live Oaks gave us hope when we needed it most — and for that, we are forever thankful.

I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible program Live Oaks Wellness offered me… the incredible staff, therapist, and the amazing people I met while I was there has changed my life, FOREVER!
Before walking through the doors I had no idea what to expect, this was my first time in treatment. I was scared but was immediately able to completely surrender with the warm welcome by ALL.
They made sure I felt at home, but most Importantly made me feel safe and comfortable through the entire program.
They not only offer a VERY comfortable detox (which was my biggest worry) but they offer SOOO MUCH MORE…
A spacious, clean & cozy house with a swimming pool, basketball court, huge backyard incredible therapy, private chef, outings, private workouts, art therapy, AA/NA meetings, the list goes on!
If you are someone who is struggling with addiction and YOU’RE in need of help, don’t hesitate 🙏🏽 Live Oaks Wellness is your first step in your/our journey to becoming FREE again.

Medical detox services at Avery Lane include monitoring r | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I just discharged from the Atherton house. It was a lovely place. As a woman who has experienced so much trauma in my life (of all kinds) I have a hard time feeling safe especially around strangers and in a new place. I have to admit that I felt very safe just like I was at home. I was at home; Avery Lane Atherton facility was my home. Temporarily. I made friends with all of the other women (clients). The other women were all friendly and welcoming to me. It's never easy going to rehab but if it was; this place is a good way for it to feel that way. The therapists are highly educated and skilled. My therapist (Summer LanFranco) helped rewire my brain in literally 60 days. She has to be God sent because she works miracles. I'm a walking miracle in the sense that I am actually living on my own and I am not completely depressed or in a crisis. I never thought I could do it. I didn't know how. And that is okay because I don't have to have all the answers or any answers for the matter just the want to and today I do want to because I now know it's possible. I used to want to die I mean I really didn't want to live. I was so scared and stressed out about being alone and scared. I'm not scared anymore either. I mean there were times when I looked at her sideways and even talked some shit with the other women (nothing horrible just the usual bitching lol) but I always had to take it back because she was so good at what she does she was helping me when I didn't even expect or know what was happening. She is so talented I have to give her credit simply because I pay my debts now lol and she has earned it. I used to think that I was going to die by suicide or a fentanyl overdose but I don't think like that anymore. I have to of course give all the Glory to the Good Lord for if it was not supposed to be it would not so thank you heavenly Father for always keeping me in your favor. Thank you Avery Lane.

Chef Mary really deserves recognition for accommodating the women and what we wanted

Well I am so sick of tuna, mushroom soup and curry or artichokes I'm never eating them again
I don't understand why we had a chef there who made food that I could have made just as crappy as I could(tuna sandwiches so basic no pickles no nothing). Not to mention the same bagels and salmon every week. We ALL DREADED ANNE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE DIDN'T LEAVE ANY DISHES FROM COOKING BUT WE WOULD HAVE RATHER DISHES THAN BLAND BASIC FOOD. Not to mention that I don't eat shell fish or fish and those things were prepared at least 4 or 5 times a week so that's how many meals I would go without because accomodations were just too much to ask for of the chef who has 3 hours to make a bunch of tuna sandwiches for 5 women who secretly despise it.
Thank you Chef Derek for the most delicious. WHOOPY!!!! Pies I've ever eaten in my life.
Other than that.....

I recently completed a 30 day program at Avery Lane, and I can t express enough gratitude for the support and care I received from the Recovery Counselors and Nicole, my therapist. From day one, the Recovery Counselors created a safe and compassionate environment, offering encouragement and guidance that truly helped me stay focused on my sobriety journey. They were always there to listen, answer questions, and provide the tools I needed to navigate my personal challenges.Nicole, my therapist, was instrumental in my recovery. Her expertise, empathy, and tailored approach made a huge difference in my healing process. She helped me work through difficult emotions, recognize underlying issues, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I felt truly seen and understood, which was incredibly empowering during my 30 days there. Thanks to the team at Avery Lane, I now have a solid foundation to continue building on my sobriety journey. I highly recommend this center to anyone seeking a supportive and dedicated team to guide them toward recovery.

Bayside Marin is an excellent treatment center.
At first, I didn't want to go here, mainly because of negative reviews and hearsay from an acquaintance, and corporate ownership.
But I quickly changed my mind. I came here devestated by a very traumatic year of my life, in as much of a mental health crisis as I was in a substance one. Throughout the length of my stay, I was treated with understanding, patience and compassion.
The bulk of their program is cookie cutter evidence based, but high quality.
The employees at Bayside really care about their work, and their clients, and because of this it didn't have a corporate feel, even though they're owned by Acadia.
What made this stay extra special for me was the therapy and one on one conversations I had with staff. I had the honor and privilege of working with the best therapist I've ever seen. When there's a true match with therapy it can be magical, spiritual. I have transformed into a better version of myself because of the one on one work with my therapist, whose intelligence, wit, patience, and compassion helped me to rise above and shine, despite facing some extremely challenging triggers in residential this time. When you can't fully care about yourself, sometimes you can borrow someone else's faith in you until you're able to care about yourself a little more. By the end of my stay, I felt more confident and centered than I had in a long time.
I also wanted to say, the tech supervisor helped guide me psychologically and spiritually as I faced various challenges at Bayside, and helped revive my interest in spirituality, meditation and awakening.
I had the best spiritual and psychological support I could have asked for, which I thought would be impossible after being at Olympia House in 2022. (Both are good rehabs with their unique strengths and weaknesses. I learned a lot at both, but they're not directly comparable, OH is a little more unique in terms of approach and programming. Bayside was extra meaningful because of the particular therapist I worked with, the behavioral technician supervisor I mentioned and the particular clients I bonded with.
They actually listen to client feedback and I watched them make numerous improvements over the three months I was there.
With that said, there is room for further improvement. Clients are shuffled over to the main campus from detox with very little explanation of where to go and when, which leaves freshly detoxed clients confused, angry, and feeling disrespected. I've been told they're working on fixing this problem.
Scheduling glitches do happen, but that's true of any medium or large rehab. They do their best. And also, sometimes communication can be a little complicated between departments. No place is perfect.
Gorgeous campus. Food was great. I was told this was a rehab for rich people who valued aesthetics over content, but that's not what I found here. They have some incredible talent working for them and client socioeconomic backgrounds are mixed.
Last. I would encourage people, strongly, to ask to change their therapist if the initial assignment isn't a match. I did, and it made all the difference in my stay.

My girlfriend landed at Heartwood after a relapse and she was in bad shape. She said that every single person who works there was incredibly kind, understanding and accommodating. They do everything they can to make your detox as painless as possible. To her, it wasn’t just a place to dry out - she had many insightful conversations about recovery with the staff there (probably every interaction). Unfortunately, she had been to a couple of other detoxes and nothing compares to this place. Very nice & clean house, nourishing & delicious food, and she couldn’t say enough kind words about the people who work there.

Olympia House is in Petaluma, California. It’s a residential and outpatient rehab for folks with alcohol and substance addictions. Medical detox consists of receiving meds to help make your withdrawal symptoms less seve | Treatments Programs Payment Options | By far. the best (out of 7 total) rehab facilities I've ever been to. They actually do trauma therapy, and you get sessions with a licensed psychologist twice a week, in addition to your drug counselor. The very best therapists I have EVER worked with. And the best drug counselor I've ever had.
I've been looking for therapy like this, and the answers I got at Olympia House, for 20 years. They are the most skilled, caring, and professional team of people I've ever worked with in mental health. I'm dual diagnosis, so I've been seeing professionals for my mental health for 25 years.
Some of their curriculum is custom, developed in house by the psychologists there—you won't find tools like these anywhere else. I have a custom designed "addictive system" I use every day to track where I am in my recovery and mental health. I use this not only to prevent relapses, but correct myself if I run off course, and this works not just for substance relapses but also things like depression, anxiety, and anger.
Their website doesn't reflect this, but they take Kaiser Permanente insurance now. That's the only reason I was able to come here.
I know reviews are inflated on the Internet, but please trust me, I swear with every fiber of my being and every ounce of integrity I have, this is likely the best rehab in California. If you have trauma, and most people do, or some form of PTSD, this is the place you should go.
They also focus on finding meaning and purpose in life--and they will definitely help you with that.
They also allow you to come back to the rehab twice a year for 2-3 days for free! They call it a "tune up". No one else I know of does this. There's also free group therapy for alumni (a process group led by one of the therapists there) once a week via Zoom.
I would wake up many times in OH in disbelief that this place exists at all, and that I got to be a resident here. They've made an enormous difference in the outcome of my life.
******ADDENDUM******
I recently read a review of OH where someone on the autism spectrum had a difficult experience. I'm sorry to hear that, but I simply wanted to say I'm (diagnosed) autistic (ASD 1/Aspergers) myself and felt that OH not only understood the strengths and limitations that can come with that, but also caused me to realize I had overestimated how different I was from my peers because of my autism. I still have it, of course, but the result of being at OH was a clearer picture of its actual impact in my life, particularly with peer relationships. I can't thank them enough for helping me with this, I have a much healthier social life today as a result.

Everyone that works for O.H genuinely cares. They make u feel like you unique and special. They offer soo many different activities and teach you so much about yourself and addiction. They give you the tools and resources for when you leave.
They do not turn anyone away UNLESS you require more specialized care being that they are not a hospital with a doctor on site.

Olympia House Rehabilitation in Petaluma, California saved my life as well as countless others!

The doctors, couselors, and staff all work to help identify the root cause of the core distortions that contribute to substance abuse. The focus of the residents mind, body, and spirit are all addressed.
Additionally, there is a lifetime of free continuous care for the alumni that includes zoom process groups, AA/NA meetings, visits once a year for two days at the house. The alumni portion of treatment is all free of charge. I cannot say enough good things regarding Olympia House. I highly recommend this program. Thank you, Sherry P.

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...!
What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!!
I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" I highly recommend this amazing treatment facility, and hope you do not waste another second deciding on when to start your "road to recovery" at New Bridge - because it starts the moment you say "Yes"..!!!

As someone who got out of Paradigm a month ago. I think that it is a great place, yeah no treatment center is going to be fun, but if you were to send your child to any place. Send them to Paradigm. I love all the staff, the schedule is great. Unlike other places, Paradigm allows you to express yourself freely. You can wear whatever you like, say whatever you like. And they really try to make the place enjoyable for every client there, as much as they can. Obviously it is not a perfect place, no treatment center in my opinion is. But I really did improve in Paradigm, I had great family therapy, improved my relationship with my father. I had a great one on one therapist, and I made a lot of friends- not only with clients but also with staff. I could freely be myself, and no one judged me because we were all in the same boat. Not only that, the rooms are comfortable, the chef has a cute dog, the food is good, and the outings are so fun. Once again, if you are going to send your kid to a treatment center, send them to Paradigm.

I came to Mountain Vista Farm’s a broken man. My addiction has led me to suffer from alcohol use disorder. I needed help. I have two undergraduate bachelor degree one in business economics and one in psychology and I have an MBA. Because I am successful out in the real world I felt like I could outsmart my addiction to alcohol use disorder, but I couldn’t outsmart it. There’s a concept you learned about Mountain Vista Farm at a high-level I went through the different phases for a long time. Alcohol was fun. Then it was fun with problems. Then it was just problems. And so I learned at Mountain Vista Farm with a very caring and kind set a very certified and capable staff . That the concept of the ‘yet’s’ Havent completely got me all the way. I learned through a combination of childhood trauma that I have held onto some emotions and alcohol I thought was my chance to escape. Through Mountain Vista Farm in this useful app That allows me to stay in touch with a lot of people so I can build that social network of sobriety I now have a new hope and a new future. There’s a quote I like that says “at the heart of chaos lies Opportunity.” If you’re looking into Mountain Vista Farm, then you have been through the chaos, now let Mountain Vista Farm be your opportunity. And this app is a really great tool To always have a sober support network right at your finger Tips To stay strong and follow the course of a new life a new way of living in Mountain Vista Farm along with this app can enable that future. Our child had medication resistant severe depression. Muir Woods helped find the right medication and provided a supportive environment over covid no less. My child is thriving and we both agree that even though it was a hard period, it was the best choice to get them treatment. At the scariest time of our lives my son was able to recover from Psychosis at Muir Wood in Petaluma & has been on a positive path since. It’s exactly what we needed to help stabilize him & are so very grateful for his time there. Thank you to everyone, especially his therapist Lars!!! My only suggestion is to individualize each kids rules to their circumstances/needs. I believe he could’ve had an even better experience there & easier recovery in his mental health had he been able to go on all outings to feel some normalcy again which was direly needed for him.

This place saved my life. The first time I came here, I was 12 years old. I was very scared but the staff were really nice and supportive. The program is really helpful, I'd recommend this place to any child who is struggling with mental health. They also have a program to treat ED's. I've been to the 3 East B adolscent psych unit multiple times, so I'm very familiar with everyone. The therapist Emilio, Megan, and Susanna were so nice to me, and a nurse named Chris. I spent 2 of my birthdays here, my 13th and my 14th. They made it a fun time even if we were in a hospital:) The patients I've been with were always really nice. Not much drama happens in this hospital. Thanks to this hospital, I am now happy in life, learning to cope with stressful situations. Thank you, Alta Bates.

I go for an Echocardiogram and a CT scan every three months and go for lab work and chemotherapy every three weeks. It's an excellent hospital equipped with exceptionally well trained doctors and RN's who are extremely committed and truly care for their patients' well-being. The hospital has a cafeteria, where either my daughter or my brother, who is my ride, waits for me during my undergoing chemotherapy. At times, after chemo, we stay at the hospital's cafeteria and have lunch. Sandwiches are made daily, and I usually get the egg sandwich and the yogurt with a bottle of water or lemonade. One can opt for a hot meal of the day. The hospital also has a wonderful gift shop, which is open from Monday through Thursday, where I sometimes stop by in case it's a day I need to wait for my ride and I browse or make a purchase 😀.
