I rated Villa 5 stars because this was the only place I was able to be comfortable. They had a daily schedule of different things to do. During your stay you can have visitors and after the 72 hr hold give you passes to leave the campus for an hour or so. The staff was great and the patients were also welcoming. If I needed help this is where I would go. Thank you for saving me.. from myself.

I gotta give these guys 5 stars mainly because the only other review is an (in my opinion) unfair one star rating. I was in Villa Fairmont several years ago and while it may have had some problems (more like a 3.5 or 4 star) it was a place that helped me stabilize in a safe location until I was accepted in a Dual Diagnosis Recovery Home (Bonita House). I currently work in the recovery field and live an independent life. To me that is worth all of the struggles that I have had with any of the programs I have been in. Gotta go through hell before you get to heaven. That's just the way it is when you have a diagnosis that isn't socially acceptable... The system may not be perfect and there is certainly lots of broken components, but we need some kind of system and it does work for some. I know because I'm one.

I went there for 10 days and they helped me to get the medication I needed when Kaiser wouldn't provide it to me and my stay was relatively comfortable other than the food and some of the other patients. I loved the staff so much I ended up writing them thank you letters the day before I left but one thing I need to complain about is the no contact rule, some people need comfort through physical touch and that isn't allowed in there and it doesn't help when someone's sobbing their eyes out and just need a hug but you're not allowed to. Also I tried to braid this one girl's hair but they literally wouldn't let me because of the no contact rule but we just did it anyways when they weren't looking. Other than that tbh I don't have much bad to say about it if any of the staff ever see this just know I'm gonna keep my promise and I'm gonna come back just to visit and bring you guys some good ass food because I truly did love every single one of you and appreciated all of your guy's advice and input and with regard to all the pros and cons I would give my stay a 7/10 (mostly just because the food kinda sucked) but yea if you get the choice to go anywhere (you can request to go to a specific psych ward sometimes) I would go here.

I've been going there since I was 17. All of the staff there has helped me a lot. Dr. Mansoor has been with me since I was 14 and is still the best psychiatrist that I've ever had. The staff is very caring. They have groups daily that are very fun filled and easy to enjoy! They also have snacks for whenever you are hungry. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is in need of mental health services and Is from 18-25 years of age.

I came to Alta Mira for dual diagnosis treatment, including my eating disorder, and it helped me more than I can possibly express. The therapy here is incredible - multiple sessions a week plus so much additional support because the staff is so in tune and genuinely caring. They also have weekly massages included in your stay! I worked with Kellie as my therapist, and she completely changed my life. Jeff runs the best DBT groups ever, and Karen and Drea are phenomenal too. The entire therapist team is amazing.
Management is wonderful - friendly, involved, and truly dedicated to every client. The RAs are absolute rockstars: Zach, Ben, Tristan, Sam, Adam, Trace, and David. They are all so kind, supportive, and professional. Ben and Tristan are amazing leads, and honestly, Zach and Adam should be too!
The food deserves its own review - the chef is incredible and the meals alone helped me overcome under eating. There’s a salad bar, an amazing breakfast buffet, and everything is fresh and delicious. I tried another facility that served Costco ready meals and I was starving - but at Alta Mira, every meal felt nourishing and made with care. I loved that they have lots of healthy snacks offered throughout the day at there is amazing coffee offered too. They even have lots of teas and matcha! On Fridays we get the best cookies ever and each client gets a going away dessert for their last night. Mine was the chocolate strawberries and cookies pictured below.
The personal trainer, Tanya, and the yoga teacher are both fabulous. The workshops are genuinely life changing. Housekeeping is amazing too - every part of this place runs with care and respect.
The rooms are huge, beautiful, and comfortable, and the clients are great people too. Dr. Driscoll (aka Dr. Py) is the best doctor ever. She is compassionate, attentive, and brilliant. I also appreciated that staff took me to outside appointments when I needed them.
Even when I (or others!) had our “diva moments,” the staff always treated us with patience, kindness, and respect. They really listen and hear you out.
Alta Mira is meant to be a 90-day program, and my friend who’s doing the full 90 is getting brain scans, cheek swab testing, and neuropsych testing - so if you can, do the full program. You’ll get the most out of it.
I could not recommend Alta Mira highly enough. It was the best decision I ever made, and I’m eternally grateful for everyone there for helping me heal, grow, and truly find myself again.

Alta Mira was an exceptional experience in 2020 and I recently celebrated 4 years of sobriety. The therapist I had in the program set me on a wonderful path to a better future. The alumni program is one of the best parts of my current journey along with the quarterly tune ups where we get to see our amazing community and the opportunity to give back to others.

I had a really memorable experience. Totally changed my mindset in a positive way. Dr. Chanter was great along with the other therapists, nurses and staff. I stayed for 37 days but wouldn’t mind staying longer if I needed to. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. I also heard the other locations are great as well.

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. My father, Fermin, received wonderful care and customer service from Sharlyn. She was attentive, thoughtful, and really catered to his needs. The PT, Regina, and OT, Stephanie, were also incredibly patient and supportive throughout his therapy.

I recently had a very challenge surgery at your hospital, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible nurses who cared for me during my stay. This was one of the most significant moments of my life, and the kindness, professionalism, and compassion shown by your team made all the difference in my recovery.
I especially want to recognize Megan, Olga, Therese, Dominique, and Journey for their exceptional care. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, safe, and emotionally supported through every step of this major procedure. Their gentle reassurance, attention to detail, and genuine compassion helped transform what could have been a very difficult experience into one filled with hope and calm.
Thanks to their dedication, I am now healing well, walking again, and looking forward to the months of recovery ahead. I truly felt cared for not only as a patient, but as a person.

New Bridge offers an exceptionally talented team of, staff members, addiction specialist, and clinician's who've helped me address my co-occurring substances and mental health issues. The New Bridge environment (residential treatment facility, & extended satellite sober living environment), are safe and clean, and provide the type of space where I was able to successfully focus on, addiction & mental health curriculums, group therapy, as well as personalized "one-on-one" therapy/counseling sessions. Additionally, the treatment facility environment is supportive of "peer-to-peer" feed back & coping skills, "focus" and "affirmation tools".., all (to which I found) have great value in early recovery...!
What I enjoyed most about New Bridge is the dignified and professional way each staff member treated me, and treated me as valued (from the newest staff member, to the kitchen staff, to nurse staff, maintenance staff, the on-site doctors, to group staff, the clinical coordinator staff, the assistant director, up to the director). These staff members, all, display a "real human" level of authenticity and care...! I'm truly happy that I chose New Bridge..!!!
I will offer this thought to anyone who is wondering if this is the right place, or not..., "if you have a true and real desire to gain recovery, everything you will need to assist you, to help you focus, guide & support you in the process of recovery.., can be found at New Bridge..!!!" Would recommend to anyone who has the desire to change their life. Tools that will last me a lifetime and helped me learn to take accountability. Perfection isn’t possible when dealing with a lot of people who are sick, but they do a darn good job. I felt important. I felt that they always had my best interest at heart. Special shout out to all of the counselors and milieu staff who work their butts off!

I was truly amazed by this place!!! The extent my case manager went through to find me after care humbled me. He tried for hours and would not give up. And I do mean hours. The staff was really caring and it transcended to the clients. It felt like a family here. I laughed so much here but also learned so much. The counselors really got out of their way here. Their sense of humor was so appreciated specially when you come in feeling so down. They included everyone and were really informative. They even invited me to be involved in their spirituality groups that opened my eyes to a different world I knew nothing about. I felt a part of. It's not my first time I've been in rehab and I would highly recommend this place.

I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table.
For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important.
There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening
Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time.
Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules.
Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed.
Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you.
If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor.
Every package you get will be inspected.
For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches.
You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed.
Hide your stash. People steal
Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies
Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it.
You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you.
Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus
You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it

Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind.
Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

St Mary's Center gives me the feel of home away from home. It's somewhere for seniors to come and get a nutritional meal and receive help in housing. I was locked out due to an unlawful eviction in 2022 & lived in my car for a month while attending St Mary's center. I was a breast cancer survivor until 2023 when I was diagnosed cancer-free & in Feb of that year I was housed in a transitional room through St Mary's. They gave me a safe community where I was able to restart my life, take care of my mental & physical health issues, & in Jan 2024 they helped me get permanent stable housing at Depot Community Apts in Hayward. Despite this place being a small health clinic, the medical staff does step up with their professionalism. Supposedly, this place is meant for those who are looking to solve their addict problem. At the same time though, people can see a physician here for a physical check up. Truly appreciate their professionalism from the personnel returning phone calls when people leave them messages, to the personnel being able to give patients their diagnostic. People can even contact the medical staff via email. There is parking available but, it is limited due to the space being small.

Easy traffic and parking if go there early on Fridays. Staff is very nice. Grounds are beautiful with a lot of frequent wildlife strolling by, esp early or late. One thing I would request- return of the deli. There is no place close by to get food when there are several appointments to do.

This place is amazing. I went for behavioral health and every part of the experience, from the front desk offering coffee, to the intake coordinator, to the therapist that helped me during one of the lowest times of my life, was beyond anything I would have ever expected from a non-profit for low income folks. I am so grateful for the care I received here.
