Everything from the admissions coordinator (Kim), to the private driver from airport (Todd), to my intake at the house (Hans, Reif, Edith, Josh), to the private chef (Danielle), to the supervisor (Sam), to the case managers and therapists (Robert, Ligi, Jess), everyone made absolute sure that this seemingly scary experience was far from just that. The care/medication management was on point. The private chef cooked some of the testiest meals I have ever consumed. The views of the pacific were absolutely incredible. I used the onsite home gym and hot tub daily. They even had onsite accupuncture and yoga. The group therapy content and material was life changing and foundational in my recovery journey. Each of the 6 bedrooms in the house has a unique vibe and special touch. I was so thankful to have access to my laptop as a working professional, and my phone to stay in touch with friends and family. The male staff, techs and doctors are the most genuine people I’ve met in the past decade. The female staff is much in the same, I just really connected with the male staff. I also want to thank Crystal and Traci, thank you so much for being a house mother and ensuring the food was always hot and delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get clean. They make you comfortable so you don’t have to shake and bake too bad. In my own opinion they were a solid team that played an important role in my recovery process. They consistently go above and beyond to make sure each person feels supported, cared for, and genuinely valued throughout their treatment experience. Every client I’ve referred has come back with wonderful things to say about the staff, the program, and the level of care they received. In behavioral health, it can be difficult to find a program you truly trust with someone who is struggling and needs the right support, and First Light is absolutely one of those places for me. Their team is compassionate, responsive, professional, and truly cares about the people they serve. I feel confident referring clients to them knowing they will be in good hands. The team was thoughtful in respect to my placement and was so thorough and seedy when it came time to get me admitted. The house staff had a nice diversity and many personalities that made it easy to find connection when I was homesick. My therapist was insightful and offered great feedback and helped me tremendously in the time I was there. She gave me reasonable expectations for what we could achieve together in my time at the house. The psychiatrist on staff was a kind hearted gentle man who made me feel heard and took my thoughts into consideration as we made adjustments to my medication regiment. Some of the groups lacked creativity or seemed redundant but I think that was because some of the staff were reasonably new hires and hadn’t found their groove yet. To be completely honest, I don't think I would have made it past the first two weeks without Victoria. In my opinion self care in recovery requires inclusivity of our physical health and well being. During admissions it was promised that it would be available once on site. This was not the case after arrival. However, I trusted the direction of my Case Manager Nicole who was an outstanding person and able to take care of all my needs while in treatment she was AMAZING! In addition, my Therapist Melissa was wonderful to work with. Melissa's ability to connect with me and recommend excellent coping skills helped me in ways I didn't think were possible. It took openness and willingness to allow those processes to take effect. I had a really good stay at treatment even though my expectations fell short of what I thought would be included after my arrival here. I look forward to the future ahead now that I'm discharging.
