Everything from the admissions coordinator (Kim), to the private driver from airport (Todd), to my intake at the house (Hans, Reif, Edith, Josh), to the private chef (Danielle), to the supervisor (Sam), to the case managers and therapists (Robert, Ligi, Jess), everyone made absolute sure that this seemingly scary experience was far from just that.
The care/medication management was on point. The private chef cooked some of the testiest meals I have ever consumed. The views of the pacific were absolutely incredible. I used the onsite home gym and hot tub daily. They even had onsite accupuncture and yoga. The group therapy content and material was life changing and foundational in my recovery journey. Each of the 6 bedrooms in the house has a unique vibe and special touch. Chapters Capistrano is absolutely amazing in every way, starting with the incredible supervisor of the center, Savannah. Her work ethic, inspiring attitude and true care for each patient trickles down to every component of the program, making it the best center I have ever attended. I am forever indebted to Chapters for providing me with the skills and insight I was missing to finally break free from the chains of addiction. Also, the small setting (no more than 6 clients per house) allowed for deeper connections which is so important to early recovery! Thank you to the whole staff for all of their patience and love, the walks on the beach, the outings, getting aftercare set up, getting me on the right meds and the wonderful atmosphere that truly is designed to set the clients up for success!! Hi, my name is Evan and here is my review of First Light Recovery. Firstly, let me start off by saying, I’ve been to a few mental care houses; and honestly this place is professional and caring towards clients and they maintain a good policy. Staff at First Light meet patient needs and excellent expectations for a good and safe environment. Clients are also good. If you decide that you need a break and just want to work on your mental health and persona, this place, if it’s in your area or not, they do travel somewhat far in order to bring you to a place of recovery; It is a good choice and you won’t regret coming. It is a welcoming experience and a good service to people and the community. They do accommodate for you in many ways so you won’t get bored or feel trapped. In many words, short, this place is pretty cool.
Sincerely to the staff, and the clients I stayed with, at this fine facility, thank you.
Evan, to First Light Recovery, thank you.

My son has recently started his treatment at this center in California for mental health and addiction. It hasn’t been long yet, so I can’t speak to the long-term results, but I can already say that my experience with the staff—especially the woman who communicates with me—has been very positive. She takes everything to heart and shows a high level of responsibility and care.
I truly hope that when my son completes his program, he will be better prepared to take care of himself, make mature choices, and live independently. From what I’ve seen so far, I feel optimistic that this center will help him grow in that direction.

I interviewed many places and chose Muse. Their medicated detox was touted as being very individualized and current. My son arrived on a Thursday evening. On Friday evening I received a call that my son was in considerable physical pain but doing fine otherwise. The next day (2 days after he arrived) I learned that NO MEDS at all had been prescribed yet for his "supervised, medicated detox." I spent the better part of the day trying to get them to have the detox medication administered to him but to no avail - just promises: "a couple of hours" - which he had been told when he checked in two days before. A "couple of hours" turned into 36, then 40 hours and I finally had to pick him up (at his insistence). I must say that outside of that ineptitude, he really liked the facility and the staff that he said was super open-minded and sensitive and understood why he needed to leave - it was beyond their control. So overall, probably great for residential treatment as long as you do not need medicated detox.

I had the most warm and pleasant experience at SCBH, from the time I made the initial phone call and spoke with someone in intake. They even flew me there from Virginia, picking me up from the airport and made sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed my entire 90 day stay. The entire staff was awesome. It felt as if I was on vacation while receiving treatment at the same time. I couldn't have asked for a better program. The structure was amazing. I will forever be grateful for the tools that their program provided me with. Thanks Again for your exceptional service to me and all those that have attended SCBH successfully. Ann Adams

My wife (Ann A.) attended this program last year from Virginia and since her return she wants to be controlling, it's as if she lost one habit and picked up another one. It's so bad now our divorce is forthcoming. I tried to reach out to SCBH and no response. I'm glad she stopped drinking but everything else is in turmoil. Remember everyone that attends these programs are not single and self care is not just about self especially when they have a HUSBAND and child. You lead them to think it's all about self and total disregard for their spouse and kids, which is also needed for her continued support. Thanks for the help in my divorce. Spoke on the phone the other day trying to reach her counselor and the guy who answered didn't give me a chance to talk. Sometimes you gotta listen. Same thing I keep trying to tell my wife. Unfortunately, I will never recommend your services.

The staff at Casa are top-notch. The high quality programming is really where this facility shines. Everyone from the owner to the cleaning staff was integral to my recovery and motivation. I always felt valued and safe.
Grace House (the nutrition/eating disorder house) has a special place in my heart. I suffered from a severe eating disorder for over 5 years and finally feel like I’ve overcome it. The dietitians, Hanna and Juliette, are very knowledgeable and great at their jobs.
The accommodations are clean and very home-y; the vibe is definitely not institutional or hospital-like. I loved the neighborhood cat too.
I recommend Casa without reservation to anyone looking to recover from an eating disorder and/or substance abuse issue. I’ve been to other treatment centers for both problems and Casa is the best. Thank you so much for everything ❤️

Casa Capri Recovery is truly the most wonderful and clinically strong all-female program I've ever encountered. I've trusted them with my family members and friends struggling with addictive (substance use) and eating disorders, and every time, they were met with unmatched professionalism and pure kindness.
Finding a truly sound, all-female program is rare and more difficult than I ever imagined, but Casa Capri sets the standard. The clinical depth, safety, and community they provide for women is incredibly needed and simply the best available. I am so grateful they are filling this need for women struggling everywhere.
A massive thank you to Liz Miller, whose phenomenal clinical insight and steady connection made all the difference for my loved ones. I also want to acknowledge Katie Martinez and Sophie Rumbin, whose thoughtful communication and genuine care provided incredible support and validation every step of the way. They consistently go above and beyond.

You’re reading this for a reason! Whatever that reason is, my hope is that when you finish you will seek help today, whether for yourself or someone you care for.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve read a few other reviews for treatment centers. At this point, you’re almost certainly tired of reading, “This place saved my life”, over and over and over. The phrase starts to lose gravity. The truth for me, however, is that SCC did not save my life. That would be too simple an explanation of what SCC did for me. SCC didn’t sanded my life, they armed me with the necessary weaponry to walk into battle, to save my own life, and to continue living with honesty, integrity, and self-worth.
SCC has something special. Whether you know it or not, you want it too, trust me. Some of the luxuries of private treatment are there, but that’s not it. What’s special at SCC is the authentic warmth, care, and concern of all the staff. Most of them are in recovery themselves, and ALL of them have been affected by addiction in some way or another and have chosen a path of helping others. This is reflected in the general attitude of the clients, and I can say that when i was there, I felt truly safe. I felt genuinely cared for, and I did not feel like a number or a dollar sign. That’s a huge deal! Just as huge a deal, is the clinical staff’s ability and knowledge, as well as their skill in delivery of information in a way that everyone can understand. The groups were super engaging and current. SCC is one of the few places that really understands the nature of group therapy, and does not execute it like a class or a lecture. Groups at SCC are interactive and interesting and there’s a healthy lean towards peer support and feedback.
Another thing that’s different about SCC, is that they accept private insurance, but they are also a nonprofit so they accept some different types of health insurance you might not expect, and sometimes they do things like scholarships for people in need of treatment that might not have the necessary resources. For example, when I was seeking treatment I had a difficult time finding a good treatment center that would take my health insurance because it was through Covered California. SCC was one of the few places that accepted my Blue Shield of CA PPO, and I know they also accepted my friends Blue Shield HMO too, which is amazing! The best thing I could suggest is if you’re in need of help, no matter what insurance you have, just call SCC and ask! The admissions women are outstanding human beings, and whether or not SCC is able to help you, they will help you find a place that’s right for you! That’s pretty incredible if you ask me.
Here’s the point… if you want to go to treatment and sit around and wait for them to save your life, don’t call SCC, but if you’re looking for a great group of people that care about what they do, if you’re thinking you might need a little help, and you’re willing to do a little work, SCC is your spot! The rewards you experience will be indescribable, I promise you that.

Overall my experience was great! One of the things I was disappointed most with was the inability to have access to a gym while in treatment. In my opinion self care in recovery requires inclusivity of our physical health and well being. During admissions it was promised that it would be available once on site. This was not the case after arrival. However, I trusted the direction of my Case Manager Nicole who was an outstanding person and able to take care of all my needs while in treatment she was AMAZING! In addition, my Therapist Melissa was wonderful to work with. Melissa's ability to connect with me and recommend excellent coping skills helped me in ways I didn't think were possible. It took openness and willingness to allow those processes to take effect. I had a really good stay at treatment even though my expectations fell short of what I thought would be included after my arrival here. I look forward to the future ahead now that I'm discharging. Best of luck to anyone coming to South Coast for a treatment program.

Sun County was a supportive, formative experience in my sobriety journey. Being surrounded by an all Women staff was so helpful in feeling comfortable off the bat, and led to rich relationships with fellow clients. Highly recommend SCW for anyone looking to get help with their mental health or addiction issues.

A great experience overall. Would love to specifically call out Doug, a therapist who works here. He, like so many other therapist at the MHC, did a really good job in individual sessions at really addressing the problem and being honest. It seems like he really cares about his patients and has been doing great work. Sarah as well. Those are the two I would reach out to call about.

Where do I start... Came to "rehab/treatment" due to a open court case. The Lord Jesus Christ has used this treatment center as a means to free me from my slavery of alcohol. I have been attending True Recovery as a client for 14 months, consecutively. The staff here connect to clients on a personal and friendly level. I have become close with many staff members and not once, do they belittle or overstep boundaries, but approach individuals on a empathetic level. Jade, I've met a wonderful friend. Michael, you are so kind. Matt, you are so knowledgeable as an instructor. Brandi, since day one you were so sweet. Forgive me if I have not mentioned you by name...
If you guys are seeking a treatment center, I highly advise this place. This place is legit.

All of the staff and nurses at resurgence are phenomenal. They helped me a lot and gave me hope at my lowest.—the two different times I came to both of their locations. Costa Mesa and riverside locations. I would recommend their programs to anybody! That is if you are looking for detox AND 30 day residential, not just detox. Thank you Resurgence! <3

First off this facility is beautiful, welcoming, and overall a great place to get treated. The staff is 24/7 on the go attending to whatever medical, mental & emotional need there may be. The man who wrote the book “The Recovery Way” is hands on about this facility and what they bring/teach. The staff made sure to welcome me with great arms to recover from what I was dealing with. As you progress they keep track of what good you’ve been doing and make sure it’s seen. They are caring but FIRM to make sure we are held accountable to our recovery. Overall I’d give 10 stars if I could.

Casa Capri is a beautiful place to get sober, with an incredible staff that really cares. Eating disorders and trauma can sometimes be driving forces behind addiction and alcoholism in women, and Casa Capri's program really addresses those things to help get at the root. As a sober woman, I trust Casa Capri's team to bring sobriety and recovery to their clients.

They treat you like your a child. They make you eat at a different house and you have 20 mins to eat. They make you worse. It’s sounds good like they pay for your plane ticket and everything but it’s not worth it at all. You wake up at 6am and you have to go to all of the group sessions no matter how you feel. They will not give you your phone after 2 week it’s more. If you talk to them before you come the stuff they say is a lie.

First Responder Wellness is should be a requirement for all First Responders somewhere throughout their career. FRW saved my life, not only mine I witnessed first hand others lives change. I thought I was going for substance and when I finally began to be open minded there was so much more to unpack. The environment is comfortable and very conducive to recovery. The real shining light of this program is the staff. All of the staff. Therapists, case managers, behavioral health technicians, nursing staff, I mean just everyone. Nobody treats you like you are their job. Every person on staff has a vested interest in helping you regardless of you being on their caseload or not. I was absolutely one of their most difficult clients during my stay and not one person ever gave up on me. And for anyone with any reservations or fear of being around strangers and diving into your personal life, rest assured you are not alone, everyone at FRW is going through similar situations and you will form life long bonds with these people and navigate the program together. They are your biggest fans, friends, advocates. Lean on them.

I’m writing this for the first responders out there who are struggling but don’t know why. When I went to First Responder Wellness, I was at the lowest point of my life. I felt hopeless, lost, and completely worn down from years of calls and stress that I never really dealt with. I honestly thought something was wrong with me.
Like a lot of us, I got into this job because I wanted to help people. To serve. To be there for others. What I didn’t realize was how much the job was slowly affecting me, not just at work, but in my relationships, my marriage, and the way I felt about myself. I didn’t understand the emotional toll this career takes, and by the time I noticed, I had already lost so much joy and connection in my life.
FRW helped me understand that I wasn’t weak, I was carrying years of work-related trauma. And they helped me start healing in a real way. The staff truly understands first responders, and being around others who “get it” was one of the most healing parts. I met some of the best people I’ve ever known there.
When I flew home to Kauai, I cried when the plane touched down because I felt different, clearer, lighter, excited about life and more myself than I’ve felt in years. The healing I received at FRW is priceless. It gave me my life, my joy, and my hope back.
I wish I had found this place earlier, not just so things didn’t fall apart, but so I could’ve kept the joy for a job I once loved, and protected the people who mattered most to me. I want that for other first responders too. I want you to thrive in this career, not just push through it. This place can help you do that.
If you’re struggling, feeling numb, overwhelmed, or disconnected, please reach out to them. You are not broken. You’re not alone. And you really can find healing and strength again. FRW helped me when I thought nothing could.
Aloha 🤙🏽
