About SoCal Detox

The detoxification program is a highly monitored process overseen by medical staff. This program specializes in high-dose methadone and pregnancy detoxes. Treatment begins with an assessment to determine the best treatment path for each client. A medical intake is included in the assessment. While in treatment, clients will receive mental health counseling and support and remain as comfortable as possible during the detox process.

Most individuals who seek detoxification support, need to follow up treatment with additional care after detoxification. These levels of care include residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and traditional outpatient. Once a person completes their addiction treatment programming, they qualify for aftercare services to help them maintain their recovery on an ongoing basis.

SoCal Detox accepts most insurance plans, such as Avante Health Solutions, Ambetter, Cigna, ComPsych, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Magellan, United Healthcare, and more. Out-of-network benefits may vary, so it’s important to verify coverage before starting treatment.

This place is a complete joke. The only person at this facility that is on point is Danielle. Kristal the program manager and Matt the casemanger are by far the most ruthless people I have ever encountered in a treatment facility. They demanded that I go on an outting with the group so they can buy Christmas decorations and I stated I wasn't feeling well because they dropped from detox to residential in a matter of 2 days max, therefore I expressed I did not want to go and his response verbatim was you either come or you discharge. So I went along and while shopping I asked him if this is not a mandatory group then that means you guys are billing my insurance as if you taking us out on an outing when in reality you can't bill insurance to take clients to the store. There is no therapeutic value in that. When I mentioned that to him he said if you don't stop talking I will administratively discharge you when we get back, and sure as hell he did exactly that. They packed my belongings and dropped me off in front of the hospital in Laguna without any kind of safety plan to ensure I would go to another facility instead of being out on the street in the evening. Kristal and Matt are fraudulently billing insurance for services that are not being rendered. They are all extremely rude, they don't care about the patients, and the casemanager Matt is sexist. The way he treats the female clients compared to the men is abhorrent. I cannot believe this facility is Joint Commissioned. I filled a complaint with the joint commission as soon as I left because on several occasions they gave me controlled meds hours before the scheduled time without approval from the doctors. The BHT's are administering medication as if they are nurses. It is illegal for them to do so. Someone who is not a licensed nurse or CNA has to administer medications to clients. The law states that they must watch the client self administer the medications as the staff observes them. Also, when I arrived my medications had not arrived yet, so what they have been doing is keeping a stash of controlled meds from previous clients who have discharged and are giving them to patients as their initial dose before their meds arrive from the pharmacy. Only facilities that have a doctor onsite can you their own pharmacy or what is better known in the medical world as a pixis, which is digital pharmacy to that requires authentication and biometrics for it to dispense meds. Avoid this place at all costs. They only care about insurance money. They don't care about getting the patient the help he/she desperately needs. I told them I was in school working on a master's program when I did my intake and that I needed my computer to turn in assignments and the caseanager told me to defer or drop the class when my classes end on December 10th. He honestly thought that I would drop 2 classes that I am passing with flying colors and painting a 3.95 GPA at the drop of a dime, all because he thinks he knows better. I've worked in treatment for several years in Arizona and never once has a casemanager suggested to a client who is so far into a class (when passing it) to drop out of it or withdraw. If anything I have heard them encourage the client to finish rather than give up. Also, I have contacted the the state and health department about the gapping hole in the bathroom behind the toilet and about the rat traps they have set all over the house. They also have the tendency to go behind the clients back and call their family members and try to deter them from helping their loved ones out. They have done it to patients in the past. One of which was my roommate whom they did that to. If you are about your loved ones, do not spend them here.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

Participants engaged in 12 step programs receive intensive peer coaching (sponsorship) and community support. Spiritual development as a means of achieving psychological and emotional healing and growth is the cornerstone of 12 step recovery, but religious affiliations are not required. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public, though specialized formats are available, including groups for seniors, teens, and family members. Evening, night, and day meetings are conducted year-round in most communities.

Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.

During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Substances can prevent the absorption of nutrients and cause damage to your body's systems. Nutrition therapy in California addresses the deficiencies in vitamins and minerals that are caused by substance abuse.
