In order to avoid needing in-patient services when my symptoms first begin I automatically know I can go to Outpatient where I have medication 💊 support, support of the other clients and from the therapists. Even having breakfast and lunch there when I have had difficulty wanting to eat or preparing meals because my mood state makes it just too difficult for me is so helpful. The staff in general there are so positive and truly seem happy to see you as you arrive. They are the best at what they do the Therapists have made a huge difference in my life, Paula she has been a God send. She has helped me find myself and what is causing my addiction. The other therapists are kind and compassionate as well . The office staff is always accessible and they are very supportive Lee Anne is one of the best facilitators I have ever known Mauti & Gigi take care of our medical needs to sum this up I’d say that everyone at Aurora Charter Oak mean what they say and say what they mean. I would highly recommend Aurora Charter Oak to everyone and I don’t say that very often. I’ve been wanting to update my latest review I believe me I don’t do this very often but it’s just one thing more I have been wanting to say for awhile it occurs to me that there’s so many people need help but just can’t make the decision to go and get help. Those are the people I hope to reach out to today when I first started hear I came kicking and screaming I refused to admit I had a problem, but that was was my biggest problem. So instead of losing my wife of 26 years so I told myself let’s do this because who knows maybe it’ll help. I am so glad I did. When you are ready pleas please go give it some time like I did the therapists are awesome I’ve been lucky enough to get to know a few of these dedicated souls who are lifesavers take my group therapist Paula she is an absolute Godsend I didn’t realize I had the problems I have I was just feeling so down so hurting and I didn’t know or care why I was close to checking out if it wasn’t for Paula I’d be in the ground I know this is not your usual situation but Paula is both professional and personable she she treats with so much respect but doesn’t candy coat my problems. She IS the real deal. All the people at Aurora are the best in their fields I rant and rave about Paula because she flat out saved my life and I will always have the utmost respect for her. Chris Aquino 1 month ago I am a patient at ACOH outpatient and by far the best experience with dual diagnosis programs I’ve been in was at ACOH. I’ve been sober since Oct of 2023. ACOH has helped me maintain my sobriety and the group therapist Paula has taught me CBT and DBT skills that are helping me gain emotional sobriety. I appreciate their staff for everything! Austin Souto-Maior 2 months ago Go here! I know. I know. It’s suspicious when someone offers to fly you to LA ASAP. Trust me, this is the place to go. They will book your flights, pick you up at the airport, etc. Additionally, they handle all of the behind-the-scenes parts (i.e. contacting your workplace, paperwork, etc.). The facility for detox / residential is top notch. You get lunch and dinner catered. You can also make a grocery list for them to get for you. The staff is top notch. I was spoiled with how great my case manager was. The medical techs were also great. I had a mental breakdown and one of them brought me into her office to talk be back to sanity. Basically, how it works is you spend thirty days at the detox / residential facility. The first week-ish is your detox. The rest is going to group courses. Once you complete that, you have the option to do their PHP program (residential living). Much more freedom, fewer classes. If you are someone who has had a history with and have gotten out of religion, AA is pushed heavily on you. Thankfully, I was allowed to go another route for semi-daily meetings once I reached the PHP phase. Bring items comforting you. For me, it was definitely a different area than the Midwest. I certainly wish I had brought by blanket that was breathable in the warm climate. All in all, this was a great opportunity to meet new friends AND get out of whichever substance you have had an issue with. Over time, this place became so much more than just a rehab facility to me. The staff truly cared about me as a person, not just another client walking through the door. The support, structure, conversations, and friendships I built there gave me the foundation I needed to finally start over. I’m still sober today, and I constantly think about how different my life could look if I hadn’t made the decision to go to treatment. I've been to two different rehabs before this one (one being a well-known, Nationwide facility) and this is by far the superior institution. They have several different levels of care to assist in every stage of the rehabilitation process. The detox was smooth and cautious; I felt extremely safe and comfortable. The group sessions are gentle and inviting, to let clients know that they are in capable hands and an accepting environment. The therapy sessions dive deep into the mental health issues that lead to addiction. The staff is professional when they need to be, but also speak to clients like they are real people and not just another patient. The homey atmosphere (as opposed to a hospital setting) makes the experience both realistic and comforting. The way it's ran shows clients that they can live a normal, sober life. It impacts their recovery journey by letting clients set attainable daily and long-term goals.
