Serious concerns about medical record accuracy and documentation practices at this facility. When issues were raised, the response was retaliation rather than accountability. Be extremely cautious about inpatient admission recommendations. Get a second opinion before agreeing to any inpatient stay. Understand your rights and that you can refuse admission. Anyone considering treatment here should request complete medical records and verify that all documentation is consistent and accurate across systems. Document all recommendations in writing.

I spent considerable time in this ward a few years back. However, there was one singular nurse who I hope is no longer there and truly hope loses her job if she is. I can’t recall her name by this point, but she had dirty blonde hair and fair skin, and I feel like her name started with an S. She didn’t like me after a certain point. Went so far as to force a transfer to the intensive unit (unit four) without my psychiatrist’s approval and against his wishes, took away everything I had in my room. Told me that a PTSD episode triggered by the patients in unit four who belonged there that it was “proof I needed to be in this unit.” I’m sorry that my trauma made me start crying and hyperventilating because another man locked in with me, who is trying to constantly get very close with me in a gross manner, started throwing things in anger. I’m sorry the psychotic breaks from other patients made me shut down. But that’s not evidence that I need specialized care. In fact, she was mad that I told her the OTs allowed me to keep a speaker to play music for the group. It made me feel good, it wasn’t abused, and it provided something during group therapy. She got pissy that I would dare do that, and held an emergency meeting to force the transfer because she was telling others I was an active risk to myself and about to harm myself. She pushed them to stick me in a hostile environment, losing my group talk therapy abilities in the process, losing the items I used as coping mechanisms (not to mention ruining my paper because they had no idea how to treat it and wouldn’t let me), all because I told her “they said I could do this.” What a childish nurse. Every petition I sent out, every nurse mad on my behalf (thank you to the unnamed monitor), every time my own psych tried to get them to move me back, ignored. It was the word of one nurse against everyone, and yet, the head nurse only listened to her it seems. Wherever you are, don’t work in a psych ward. In fact, you may not be suited for nursing at all. This would be disgusting behavior to put anyone through. I’m in a much better place now, and if I did need help, I would like to say I trust wards enough to get the care I need. But I can’t trust that the nursing staff would take care of me without trying to make my life miserable because you have more power than me. All because you want to prove that you’re right? So how should I have any faith that they wouldn’t try to make my mental state worse for their own pleasure? You lacked empathy. Completely and entirely. You know and understand nothing. Please experience what I went through under your care. I hope you truly do. A nurse in a psych ward needs empathy. Scrivner Center, there is more you could have done to prevent this one nurse from treating a patient this way. But you failed me. I guarantee you failed more. And that’s what hurts the most - it wasn’t just one nurse allowed to try and play God because she didn’t like my response. It was the fact that she was allowed to, and subsequent attempts to fix the situation were wholly ignored, leaving me even more vulnerable than I was prior.

I'm giving this hospital 1 star based on my recent experience. As someone who's been autistic my whole life, I've had mixed experiences with hospitals, but this one was particularly challenging. While it's better than some others I've been to, the psychiatrist I had was a major issue. I felt uncomfortable with her tone and way of asking questions, not because she was mean, but it just didn't work for me. When I tried to explain my discomfort to the nurse during the call, the response I got implied that I had no choice but to deal with it, which felt unprofessional and unsupportive. The experience made me feel like my needs and preferences weren't being considered, which was really frustrating. To make matters worse, I was forced to go to the hospital by the crisis support team despite my reservations about psychiatric facilities. I wasn't comfortable wearing a hospital gown or being attached to wires in bed, and I barely slept. After being released, the $4.9k charge was a huge shock. I understand that medical care can be expensive, but the combination of high costs and unpleasant experiences left a bad taste in my mouth. It feels like the system isn't designed to support people in the way we need.

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Scrivner Ctr works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

In California, substance abuse treatment programs can help individuals with any type of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. These rehab programs typically encompass various levels of care, including medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. You can expect clinicians to utilize evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you achieve and sustain your recovery. The rehab's clinical team can provide a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and medical support you may need.

Inpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction with a focus on mental health is a good fit for people who need closer monitoring and care. Treatment may occur in a hospital setting, a clinic, or a luxury rehab center. Mental health counselors and staff are available 24/7. Therapies typically include group and individual counseling, relapse prevention education, and emotional coping skills training.

Programs

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.
