Office Staff are nice. The office is a nice area to sit and wait. Dr. Clipper is very straight forward with things, but we need to try and elaborate with things easier. Otherwise he s a great person.

100% agree and experienced similar issues to what others have expressed here, and even then some more. Really, their own responses to the negative reviews on here say it all.Edit to respond to their response: I was never court ordered to have any dealings with CASI whatsoever. I will now, however, obtain an attorney to draft a Cease And Desist against this blatant, slanderous, and malicious lie.

This review is yet another example of the many court ordered cases we receive. When a situation occurs that one side is not happy with the results of counseling. the trend seems to be to go to google review and give us a poor rating. Many of our poor ratings are due to this kind of situation. Clients tend to take out their frustration upon us vs. looking at themselves and how they may have contributed to the situation not going in their favor.

Accepted Insurance

Counseling Associates of Southern Illinois works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Poor communication. I scheduled an appointment, waited weeks for an assessment just to show up and be told that Dr. Clipper is supposed to be in court and that someone should have called to let me know, but I was never notified. **I may not be able to reply to the response but I can update my original review to show what's being left out of the picture this business is trying to paint. I never received any call or voicemail like they're stating in their response to this. Or else I wouldn't have wasted my time and gas showing up that day. The nice thing about phones is that even if they did call and leave a voicemail, and I missed it, there would have been record of it in my call log and a voicemail but there were neither. Whoever left those notes in the records didn't actually do their job. I would have considered keeping the rescheduled appointment (that I just called to cancel) that I set up with them in the office that day if they didn't decide to leave a response to my original review about how things should have been per the record and that I still made another appointment, as if that helps at all. They would have done less harm by not responding to the review in the first place. It's passive aggressive and unprofessional and that tells me this business is no longer worth my time. Now I'm going to have to ask my doctor for a referral elsewhere, spending more time waiting to get the help I need because I don't trust businesses that have poor customer service. The first issue was excusable. People make mistakes. But if your interactions with your customers in the reviews are that petty, it's a bad sign.** Some people can't wait for this type of help and it's not always easy to schedule around jobs and kids. My husband had to take time off work for this so we are already losing money before getting any help.

I looked into this. The notes in the file state that we called and left a voicemail that the appointment had to be cancelled due to Dr. Clipper having to appear in court on a case. You were rescheduled for a few weeks later. Our staff always notes in the file what steps were taken when situations like this occur. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I cannot speak highly enough of this office, especially Sheri Miller. Calling to make our initial appointment, I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was our first experience. However the office staff was so easy to work with and so kind on the phone. Then, once we met with Mrs. Miller, our experience was even better. She has been amazing, and has helped my family through a difficult time. My daughter has made such amazing progress. Mrs. Miller helps her through the difficult things, and has taught us some amazing coping skills. She also recognizes how she has grown in this process, and provides praise and positivity, which makes my daughter feel proud of herself. This has been a wonderful experience for my daughter, and my whole family.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you very much for your kind words. We appreciate it when clients take the time to express their satisfaction with our office staff and your overall experience with CASI. We are glad that your experience at CASI was a positive one and that the outcome of therapy was good for you and your family.

STAY AWAY! This guy (Bob Clipper) is frequently appointed by the Court to do custody evaluations. Here is what I’ve learned (I'm an attorney) – the man ignores forensic evidence and tends to take sides based solely on what is seemingly his political opinion. He literally holds up certain examinations as the gold-standard of psychological evaluation (such as the MMPI-II), but completely ignores the findings interpreted by third—party forensic psychologists (of his choosing), only to meet the conclusion he developed before having the same interpreted (in other words, cherry-picking to write a report that justifies his initial beliefs). In fact, he has gone as far as to write reports that completely leave out detrimental information to the party he wishes to succeed. I have direct knowledge that he has accepted medical documentation from witnesses that may have been altered without verifying its origins or making a formal request from the medical provider. Such a practice seems facially cause for ethical review. Bottom line – he needs to be excluded from the circle of professionals that are fair and balanced. Also, he’ll charge you roughly $10K before he gives you the report. Why? I believe it's because it’s about the business. In my view, he’s enjoyed the benefit of making A LOT of money off the Court, but his opinions are clearly not objective, and the Court will often adhere to his “quasi-ruling” just because he’s been doing it for so long. Nevertheless, he enjoys a long-standing relationship with the Court and believes he will never be questioned. Hell, he’s ignored subpoenas to testify regarding his reports without consequence – no contempt proceedings, no sanctions! My opinion is based upon what I’ve seen personally. This guy has no interest in objectively evaluating any case. He is a bottom-rung business man looking to push an agenda – STAY AWAY!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
It is always frustrating when people post outrageous claims on social media type sites without truly laying out their agenda, other than just to demean and criticize someone. In this post, the individual proclaims that he’s an attorney. One might assume he or his attorney would have the skill set to cross-examine, introduce significant or contradicting evidence, and essentially prove that the expert was uninformed or incompetent. He did not do this but instead, he blames the one person, who if his claims were correct, he should have been able to blow out of the saddle, but he did not. His alternative to questioning me in court is to blame me for what he was either unable or unwilling to do. The court outcome could only be the fault of someone else and not him. Again, if we are to believe his unproven allegations, it would seem, he should have easily won his case. Afterall, the introduction of evidence and proving the error or falsehood in evidence is a key part of the court process. However, he never comments on this factor. Perhaps if he were as skillful in the court room as he is at painting distortions, he would have won hands down. But he did not. It might be revealing if he were to comment on what factually happened in his court case that had nothing to do with my role; or that perhaps he settled the case and for what reason, if all he claims is true; and now it’s someone else’s fault.

This office never returns a phone call and had poor communication internally.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
We wanted to respond to your concerns and dissatisfaction with our office. This matter was looked into. An appointment was made by you. The next day when our office was calling for the benefits, they got the automated system and it told them you were not covered for benefits. We called and told you that. You then called and got a different answer, stating that you were eligible. We called again and unfortunately got the same answer about you not having coverage. We called you again and let you know what was told to us. We were going to check again and let you know when we could get a live person on the phone. A day or two had passed before we got that answer, but by then you were not happy with us. We contact insurance companies to see what your benefits are as a courtesy to our clients. It really is the client’s responsibility to call and get their benefits. We are a very busy office and there are times when the office staff is busy taking calls, making appointments, checking benefits for others as well. We do the best we can. And many times, what we are told about benefits and what the client is told often differs and sometimes sadly, it almost depends on who you get at the insurance company to give you the correct information. We are sorry you had this experience and hopefully understand we made several attempts to get you the correct information.
