Casa Serena Treatment Programs for Women is a drug and alcohol rehab facility located in Santa Barbara, California. I d really like to give ten stars, because five stars aren t enough to describe how healing and restorative going through Casa Serena s program has been for me, and what it has meant to me as I ve moved through early sobriety as a young woman.I came to Casa Serena to do the outpatient part of my rehab stint after spending almost 90 days at a residential program in another state. I wasn t sure I had anything else to learn after doing so much therapeutic trauma work while in residential but I was proved wrong. I flew out to Santa Barbara all the way from the Great Lakes portion of the Midwest to live at Millie s, which ended up feeling like home after about a week of being there. I did four months of outpatient / PHP / IOP programming, and have not regretted my decision at all, even on the days when having to do the heavy lifting of emotional processing in group felt like a lot. I got along with everyone I came across and was treated with kindness, care, and empathy from everyone I lived with or saw at the outpatient building. I noticed that every other woman in the program was treated with the same respect I received each day.I should also say that I m a highly sensitive empath from Ohio, and I take very seriously who I will and won t spend my time with. I would not hesitate at all to tell my own mom, sister, friends, mail carrier, etc. to admit at Casa if it s what they really needed. It s very beautiful that at Casa Serena every type of woman belongs and feels safe enough to be themself, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, upbringing, etc. We re more alike than we are different when going through Casa Serena- each of us has the common problem of trying to kick an addiction that s more or less killing each of us. Wanting to live a sober and healthy life is our great unifier.Would I fly clear across the country to do Casa Serena all over again? Yes! Is it worth the cost? Definitely! Do you learn more about yourself than you ever thought you would? Again, definitely! Will it save your life if you let it? Absolutely. My heart rests peacefully knowing that this team of clinicians works so skillfully, empathetically, and honestly to help women heal from the trauma, brokenness and heartbreak that accompany addiction. If you re ready to come home to yourself, this is the perfect program through which to do so.

This morning as I wake up to start my week, I am 6 months sober. I owe every miraculous thing that has changed in my life to Casa Serena and the amazing staff there. From the clinicians to the PAs to Tamra the house mom at their sober transition house to Chef Karen who prepares delicious meals for the women in recovery daily. I would not be the woman I am today without this program. Whatever your ailment is, this program with help you work through your demons and if you truly want to live a better life off of your substance of choice, if you truly work for that everyday of the program, if you truly listen to your clinicians, then you can be successful and truly live the life of your dreams. Thank you Casa. I have found a sisterhood I will have the rest of my life. I look forward to leading another Sacred Sisterhood meeting in the future!!

Casa Serena is a magical place. The staff is wonderful and extremely educated and the group curriculum is life changing. I got so much out of my individual and family therapy sessions. In addition, the psychiatrist is the best I have ever seen as she s very knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. I owe a lot to Casa as this program has completely transformed my life!

Let me be perfectly honest with this place. It s the most beautiful and amazing place to get sober. I came here from 5Bath. This place has saved my life with the most knowledgeable and caring staff. So don t listen to people who were kicked out for not keeping this place safe. Please trust in what I am telling you. I cannot say enough about the CRC staff and their recovery program. All are professional, authentic, and genuinely care about the program along with the residents that come through. It is simply impossible to rate the effectiveness of a well planned program because of the level of willingness of the clients that come through. It can take people several attempts to "get and understand" recovery.I can say without hesitation if you are ready to step into recovery life and desire a straight forward-loving approach that will give you essential tools that can last a lifetime then CRC is an excellent choice. The program is packed with education, groups, one-on-one counseling, excellent outside meetings and from the day you arrive an exit plan is being formulated. The alumni aftercare for clients and family members is incredible, one would be hard pressed to even take advantage of all that is offered after-care for FREE!As intense as the program is there is a relaxed overtone that makes you feel human. There is ample time to visit with family and important people from the outside. The environment is safe and free from outside substances. An added bonus is the food is quite good. Give yourself and your family the gift of recovery. What seems to feel like a living nightmare at first can turn out to be the greatest blessing. It did for me.

Mission Harbor was there for me when I needed the most help. I have healed mentally, grown emotionally & spiritually, realized my strength and areas for growth. I recommend "taking what you like and leaving the rest". It seems like people have a wide range of experiences here... I was not there for substance abuse. I found some groups very insightful while others were not for me. While I hate to say it, I found myself caught off guard in a community group setting. I think all of the staffs' intentions are honest and good, but like anything there will be politics and uncomfortable dynamics. You will grow here and find at least one person to be a support system while you work through the difficult parts.

The Giving Tree helped my to get my life back!!! I stayed, learned and listened!! I consider myself a success story!!! I lived there for 2 over years. I think I moved in in 2005. It was such a huge part of my life. I just miss it and think about it every day the friendships I made , the women/people I met really made an impact on me. I saw some come, and go, some stay and some leave some succeed and Some weren t finished out there yet, and had to just go back out. But I stayed listened and learned. I had a few rough times here and there, but made it through. Went from having absolutely nothing to now having everything. I moved out in November 2006. But I ll never forget my time there. It s really hard to put into words, but the giving tree has a special place in my heart forever and always. Help teach me how to just do the next right thing, get up , show up, helped me to be accountable, forgive myself and too nice on to just put 1 foot in front of the other. When I got there, I didn t have much money my brother and sister paid my first six weeks rent, after that I was on my own. I had to find a job so to make things work out . I talked to the girls that were already working and I would help clean the house for them and they would buy my cigarettes or pay me five bucks. So could get coffee and creamer, lol a newly clean/sober persons needs the code and cigarettes!! I have quit smoking Manny years ago Then I went out and ended up getting not only one job, but three jobs went to meetings 6 AM and 10 o clock at night and worked all in between did what my sponsor said and the house mom at giving tree told me to do. And my life just fell into place.. I now have two kids , at the time of the giving tree I didn t have children . I have a house a good job a great husband who I ve been with since my time at the Giving tree, we actually met in recovery. After we both had some time accumulated but it all worked out. Thanks to the great start. I had at the giving tree. I will forever love this place and Donnette and everything it represents. Thank you Giving Tree!!!

My experience with Zona Seca has been overall positive. They are a non-profit, not charging for any sort of gain, the fees are there to help control some of the chaos of having to constantly reschedule, etc. There is a wait time to get in, so why would they cater to people who aren't going to do what is needed. The people that work there truly care and want to help. Sometimes that means saying things people don't want to hear, which is another reason I'm sure they get such bad reviews. Yes they are strict about missing classes/rescheduling, but the rules are made VERY clear from the beginning. For those complaining about fees, maybe you should have read the contract when you enrolled?

I recently had the privilege of staying at New House 2, a sober house dedicated to helping individuals transition into a life of sobriety and personal growth. My experience at New House 2 has been nothing short of transformative, and I'm excited to share my thoughts on how this remarkable establishment fosters a sense of unity and helps residents break free from the clutches of ego. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and compassion by the dedicated staff members who truly understand the challenges of addiction recovery. The environment at New House 2 is incredibly supportive, fostering a sense of camaraderie among residents. This emphasis on teamwork is what sets this sober house apart from others. One of the core principles emphasized at New House 2 is the importance of being a team player. Through various activities and group meetings , residents are encouraged to work together, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes. This collaborative approach creates an atmosphere of unity and shared responsibility, reminding us that we are not alone on this journey.New House 2 also recognizes the detrimental effects of ego on the recovery process. Ego can hinder personal growth and prevent individuals from fully embracing their sobriety. The staff at New House 2 are well-versed in addressing these challenges and provide invaluable guidance to help residents focus on self-reflection, accountability, and letting go of ego-driven behaviors.Living at New House 2, I quickly learned that the path to lasting sobriety is paved with humility, empathy, and a willingness to learn from others. The housemates I shared this experience with became an extended family, offering unwavering support and genuine friendship. Together, we discovered the true power of teamwork, as we celebrated each other's triumphs and lifted each other up during challenging times. The facilities at New House 2 are excellent, providing a safe and comfortable living environment conducive to healing and personal growth. The staff members are not only compassionate and knowledgeable but also serve as role models, leading by example and demonstrating the importance of being a team player. They create an atmosphere where residents feel encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, build meaningful relationships, and contribute positively to the recovery community. In conclusion, New House 2 is a beacon of hope for those seeking a transformative sober living experience. The emphasis on teamwork and the dedication to helping individuals shed their egos is truly commendable. If you're looking for a sober house that prioritizes personal growth, community support, and the development of essential life skills, I wholeheartedly recommend New House 2. Your journey to sobriety will be met with compassion, understanding, and the invaluable gift of learning to be a team player and embracing a life free from ego.

Pretty much saved my life. I moved to Santa Barbara from Bakersfield looking for a sober living house and to be closer to my sponsor. I Googled and visited about 4 sober living places and after visiting several, New House 2 was the choice I was and still am happy I chose. It's a 12 step House where the really focus on sobriety. Working a program and getting a sponsor is something very important here. The food is great and the brotherhood is great as well. I've met alot after guys here that really make this alot easier then I thought. Don't get me wrong. I was a little nervous making the transition. But after a day or so, I'm very much pleased to say. I have been seeing Betsy for 3 months now and she s been a valuable support system for me here at UCSB. She is just the right match for me and I feel so comfortable with her, she listens to me and empathizes me. Every time I finish a session with her, I feel more at ease than at the beginning of a session. She is such a kind, warm person and calming when I talk to her about my stressors. I really feel a difference from before I saw her. I was going through so much and needed a therapist ASAP. It had been a while since I saw a therapist before Betsy and I can say she is the best one I ve ever had. She is truly a godsend. I m really happy that I decided to go with Acacia Counseling & Wellness. It s very convenient for me to bike to, the front desk receptionists are kind, I feel a tranquil vibe when I step into this waiting room and it warms my heart to see the dog!

This house saved my life. I paroled from a 6 year prison sentence with nothing but the cloths on my back. Newhouse gave me a scholarship, and the tools put myself in a position to succeed. I would definitely recommend!

As one of the oldest tenants of Sanctuary related housing members I can tell you that if you apply yourself 100% from the beginning and graduate the program you ll be able to take advantage of some great opportunities such as a secure apartment and fallow up activities and lunch every week with attending interesting activities. I ve got 31 years of sobriety thanks to Sanctuary Centers.

I left a rather negative review a few years back, regrettably. In fact, The Giving Tree is one of the best sober living places in Santa Barbara. I have, in fact, recommended it since my last review, which was maybe 5 or 6 yrs ago. These women are serious about getting their lives back in order, the ideal environment for healing.
