so i was a patient here i literally discharged yesterday. this place has a bad star rating but honestly this place is not bad my first 3 to 7 days were the worst days of my entire stay there because I just cried every day and I really wanted to go home but staff was always there to comfort me and tell me that I can do my treatment and I was gonna be OK and I’m gonna get better and I’m gonna go home the facility the day room and our bedrooms are not the best but they’re also not the worst. we decorate the unit sometimes to brighten up the place and it does look good. The cafeteria is pretty big and the food is decent. I’m gonna say that we would get like cauliflower and it would have a little mold spots on it, but it wasn’t every time it was just a couple times If it had mold on it and we would switch it out for something else. The broccoli it was smell funky so I was scared to eat it, but I don’t know if it went bad we do only get 10 minute showers and 10 minute phone calls so that’s not the best and we also rarely go outside and the staff here was very nice. I was on East unit and I feel like I learned a lot my therapist. She helped me a lot family sessions. She helped. She taught me a lot of skills. The unit taught me lots of skills in the school programming there it is fairly good. there was a couple fights on the unit, but they never lasted. Staff always heard them arguing and always got into the middle of it. The only reason they got to fight is because they hit around staff and they did get punished for it fairly and if you there is like a lot of precautions, there’s like SP precautions SH precautions SI precautions, AP, EP and you can you put on those if you show that behavior SP precautions if you’re saying you have a plan to un alive yourself and it can be feasibly carried out in the hospital you’ll get put on SPS if you’re saying you want to you or are gonna do it you’re gonna get put on sp ap is being aggressive yeah just stuff like that. You’ll learn all about it and it’s honestly not bad. You just have to do your treatment and not fight it and you will you will have a good time. oh also they do make you eat 50% of all meals and I’m pretty sure if you eat less than that you get put on fall precautions and you have to wear a hard helmet to make sure that you don’t fall in hit your head so this place is also for like eating disorders and just anybody that doesn’t eat regularly. We have to eat 50% of breakfast 50% of lunch 50% of dinner so it does help. But I’d like to thank the facility for helping me and just just I don’t know like it was just a good facility and I would definitely recommend someone to go there

Personally, the residential program at michiana helped me SO much. It's run by an amazing program manager, Becca, who goes out of her way to make sure you get the help you need. I spent almost 4 months there and I have to say I'm going to miss it. At first I hated it but over time it insentivised me to change and it helped me love myself enough to want that change. I had a visitation one time and my mom hadnt seen me in like 2 months and she said i was literally glowing, like this program helped put life back in me. Also, staff are so nice and caring. And while some got on my nerves they only had the best intentions. I'll truly never forget what I learned here. Thank you RTC. :) -Lilly

My Daughter spent 7 wks at Michiana after many other levels of mental health help in other places weren't effective. It is so hard trusting people you don't know to help your Child. They made the process as easy as they could. We received excellent communication from them about our Daughter during her stay and I really felt like each person cared about her. They were also great at communicating with our insurance company. Unfortunately our insurance stopped paying for her care. Even though it wasn't time for her to be discharged, she seems to be in a much better place with her mental health. It truly was hard to say goodbye to this special team of people who helped our Daughter and our Family💛

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to this rehab center and its staff. No, it’s not a luxury retreat or a spa-like setting—but neither is prison, or worse, the morgue. This place is about recovery, not comfort, and I believe they are doing exactly what they’re meant to do: helping people get their lives back.
The staff was kind, dedicated, and truly cared. My son's father recently completed treatment here, and while he shared that it was incredibly tough—physically, emotionally, and mentally—he also said it was nothing compared to the pain of being out on the streets, lost in his addiction. Recovery isn’t supposed to be easy. If it were, addiction wouldn’t be so hard to beat.
I’ve seen some reviews criticizing the center for not giving constant updates to family members. I get it—when someone we love is in pain, we want answers, we want involvement, we want to help. But part of the healing process means letting go of that need to control. We didn't have control when our loved ones were in active addiction, and recovery is no different. The program is designed to build independence, accountability, and internal strength. Constant calls, questions, and attempts to interfere, even with good intentions, can undermine that.
Trust the process. Let the professionals do their job. It’s not always comfortable—but neither is addiction. Discomfort is part of growth, and growth is what this place is all about.
If you're looking for somewhere that offers real recovery—not coddling, but healing—this is it. Let them work, and give your loved one the space to fight for their own life.

I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!

This option has never been available to us in the St. Louis area. Our past options have been mostly short-term hospitalization when conditions became severe. I can’t say enough good things about ICFR. The facility is very impressive and the staff is friendly, experienced and treat all residents with compassion and kindness. Partly because a good number of the staff have either themselves or their loved ones experienced different forms of mental illness/addiction at some point in their life and thus understand what the residents are going through. We also were very pleased with the periodic updates that were provided to us during his stay. We are so grateful to Danielle (therapist), Shayla (case worker), Dawn (nurse practitioner), staff that I had the pleasure meeting in person, and the rest of the healthcare workers team. While our son was very reluctant at the beginning and took a lot of convincing, at the end he was very pleased of the time he spent at ICFR (the above feedback we got from him). We wholeheartedly recommend ICFR with no reservation.

My time at ICfR has been a roller coaster in the best way. Recovery from addiction or mental health is never easy, but the staff at the Mishawaka location has made my journey as smooth as possible and I know I've made lifelong supports and friends here. I leave soon, and though I hope I'll never need to come back as a client, I pray I can come back and give the same experience I had to someone else that needs the help ICfR provides. No pool, though. :)

My personal recovery journey at ICFR has been great. The counselours, staff, med management and nurses were great. The admissons process could use some work on the information that is told to potential clients, that would resolve a lot of the problems I have witnessed clients have with the facility and a few of my own. But overall if you come in with an open mind, ready to put the work in and focus on your journey and not others you can and will have a great foundation for whatever recovery journey you're on.

Although th | Treatments Programs Payment Options | After completing inpatient rehabilitation, I transitioned into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Parkdale Center and I can say with my whole heart that it was one of the most life-changing and soul-healing experiences I’ve ever had. Parkdale didn’t just help me continue my recovery, they helped me to continue to find myself again. They believed in me, held space for my pain, and gave me the tools and encouragement to continue to rise stronger than I ever thought possible.
From the leadership to the support staff, everyone at Parkdale exudes compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to healing. But what makes Parkdale truly exceptional are people like Rigo and Claudia. They treated me not like a number or a case, but like family. There was zero judgment, only humility, kindness, and an unwavering belief in my potential. Rigo felt like a steady big brother, firm when needed, but always full of heart. Claudia radiates warmth and made me feel safe, seen, and cared for in a way that felt almost sacred. These two, and so many others at Parkdale (like Dr. Chris, Denise, Ty, David) restored my faith in people and reminded me that recovery is possible when you’re surrounded by those who genuinely care.
Parkdale is the best at what they do because they combine clinical excellence with human connection. Their program isn’t just about sobriety, it’s about rebuilding your life with dignity, strength, and purpose. If someone I love ever needed help, Parkdale is the place I would trust.

I have personally referred 3 friends to ICFR, in addition to numerous participants that come to us for help. What puts ICFR above others in the treatment arena is the time they spend unraveling the "why's" that lead to the misuse of substances. Without getting to the trauma, what lead you to escapism, long term success is limited. ICFR takes the time to explore the why's, and for me, as a person in recovery who didn't really get better without extensive trauma therapy, I know this to be true.

Gary, Indiana | Located on Methodist Hospital’s Northlake Campus in Gary, Indiana, Methodist Hospital – Behavioral Health is the inpatient behavioral medicine unit of the hospital. They offer mental health and substance abuse treatment with round the clock care in a secure 16 bed unit. They accept adults between the ages of 18 and 54. They accept Medicare, Med | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I understand that an hospital is a place of care and not a hotel. With that being said, when a patient is being admitted for observation it means that they’re not critical. However, not being able to rest is important. Staying in ER for 10 hours from 8:30 am till 5:00 pm without food is ridiculous. I don’t know if am allowed to eat or not? Just trying to be patient because I’m aware of my surroundings. My nurses were very nice and friendly but not apathetic.
I loved the ER doctors. They are thorough, knowledgeable, concerned and compassionate.
The night floor nurse was really really nice and did all she could to accommodate me. However she had been so busy and rushing around that she had an odor that was really unpleasant.
The night CNA I wish I could remember his name, I think Matt? He was very nice and really kind. Oppose to the morning CNA, I tried to give her a compliment on how nice she smelled and she ignored me.
I choose to go to NORTHLAKE Methodist Hospital. I think the care is excellent. I just wish the staff’s demeanor and procedures were a little consistent across the board.
Also the ER room I was in the TV remote volume was broken. I could turn the TV on but had to hold the speaker to my ear to hear it. I thought my neck was going to get a catch in it and I would have to deal with another problem.

The labor and delivery department is awesome! I will admit that the reviews did initially make me look into other hospitals to deliver my baby. Those hospitals turned me away when I was clearly in labor. Methodist took me in without hesitation and took very good care of me and my baby. My only complaint is that pain management was kind of slow but I think that was because my original midwife did not put in the orders like she said she would.
