This is one of the best VA Medical Centers that I’ve been to. Appointments are kept on time and it’s very clean. The doctors here made a diagnosis that the two major hospitals could not get right. I’m grateful for that.

As a patient with a Major Depressive Disorder, I was treated with the correct treatment that helped me with my symptoms and they offered there my medication while they ordered for me, also they helped with a program application to get a discount. It is an excellent place to get help. I was treated for a year with excellent results. Now I got my bachelor's in Psychology and I want to help others.

I’ve never written a review like this before, but Belinda at Regional Health absolutely deserves it. She is, without exaggeration, the sweetest and most genuinely caring person I have ever dealt with at any establishment. I’ve never even met her in person, yet she has treated me with more kindness, consistency, and dedication than most people you meet face-to-face. Belinda goes above and beyond in every way. She helped me find an amazing doctor, made sure my medications were taken care of, and anytime she said she would do something, I knew for a fact it would get done. No doubts. No chasing. No stress. There were days she even made late calls just to make sure everything was handled for me, then followed up to confirm things went smoothly. It’s rare to find someone in healthcare who brings this level of compassion and follow-through. She has made my life a million times easier, and I’m genuinely grateful for her. If every healthcare system had a “Belinda,” the world would be a much better place. Thank you, Belinda. You truly are amazing!

It all started YEARS ago when I sent an email to Better Life, desperately searching for a provider to get me in right away. It was a Friday. I was refused to be seen at my then current provider for being 15 mins late. I had just had a C Section. I wasn’t even cleared to drive yet. They were so overbooked they refused to squeeze me in. I said, it’s Friday! I won’t be able to get my meds until Monday! They told me, sorry, we can’t help you— and offered to give me “comfort” meds in the form of Imodium. Which we all know is a joke. & they also informed me it would be 2 weeks til my next appointment. NOT Monday. They played with my sobriety as having to go that long without your medication can be devastating to your recovery. Like a true Angel from above, Dr O called me into his office AFTER HOURS ON A FRIDAY and got me my medication RIGHT AWAY. I thought there was no way he’d see my email before the weekend. I had googled other doctors and locations in my area and came across Better Life and his email and though it felt hopeless, I emailed him. Not only did he see it, and quickly, but he took time to get me in when his office was supposed to be closed! I was able to leave his office as a new patient and go get my meds! He saved my sobriety that day and I’m forever grateful to him for that! It is something I will NEVER forget! I was his patient for a few years (and he IS as fabulous as these reviews say) until he got some help on board, NP Laura! Laura is incredible! She has gone above and beyond for me on more than one occasion. Talking with her is like talking to a friend and I look forward to seeing her. She IS a friend, in my eyes. One of the most compassionate addiction specialists in NWI, next to Dr O. This office and everyone in it are in a league of their own and I will NEVER see another doctor! They’re stuck with me for good! If you want to find a place that truly cares and will do whatever they can to help you stay sober… give this place a try. Just don’t all of you come at once HAHA (I joke) BUT one of the best things about this place is the fact that they are not too overloaded with patients. Often times a good place will go downhill when they take on too many people bc the quality of care goes down. This place does NOT overbook and I’m entirely grateful for that. & if they do, heck I don’t ever notice!! My care is never compromised! My appointments are never a headache! Running a few minutes behind will never put me in a bad spot again and as a mother of 5, that alone is priceless because being late happens sometimes! This is the best Addiction Treatment Center in all of NWI with the best people on board. Throughout my sobriety journey (now 10 years) I’ve been to MANY locations. All with the same self serving goals, judgement, and lack of compassion. You will never run into that problem here. You will always be treated like a human being and not like an addict. That alone is worth more than money can buy. Thank you Laura, Dr O, and all the amazing ladies up front that help me every visit! You are ALL rockstars! & angels! 😇

Excellent place for adults to go for treatment. The staff are friendly, courteous, kind, professional. The doctor is informative, caring, attentive, highly recommend for ADULTS or mature young adults. Appointments are always punctual.

What this place did for me was showing me the path step by step to recovery. That was exactly what I needed, they taught me the basic stuff and also the most complex one and now here I am completely recovered.

The owner and staff are wonderful, Hope was really great to be around. I didnt want to be there at first and she was very patient with me. I have to admit it was a good experience with good people, I would definitely recommend going there.

For anyone looking to get help, I highly recommend this place. Everyone is super nice, helpful and educated. A true no judgement zone.

Although I was in the schedule for my surgery the times I was getting was 12pm,then 5pm, then 7pm. My surgery didn’t start till maybe 6pm but I was prepped at 8-9am long time to wait huh. Well I was a little frustrated but I got over it after I finally was getting told I was goin back. I got to meet my little girl downside of the whole thing was they were always short staffed on labor and delivery floor so things were either slow or just never came but other than that you guys did a great job i was done with my surgery very quickly, the anesthesiologist talked me thru everything to reassure not was I comfortable but ok before anything became a issue the music selection for my surgery was tea🤏🏾🤏🏾 I got to song along for my surgery which was a 10/10😫😊&& my Ob/doctor was amazing real big shoutout to her!!!! My daughter is healthy and I got to choice when I wanted to go home😊🤞🏾

When I watched an online video of my son Terrance getting his brains obliterated and having the remaining chunks of his face slamming into the dirt I never thought I'd get over with it. Now I'm not gonna lie, I didn't. I still have nightmares of him asking for help trying to communicate with his face half-missing. But at least thanks to Edgewater Health, Dr. Lipschitz helped me get a bi-weekly supply of Zoloft and Oxycotton. We gettin' LIT. Thank you Terrance for all your help over the years, but your death has semented my life into being bliss, GOD BLESS OPIOIDS!

I don't have a problem with seeing my nurse I haven't met anybody there that is not friendly. Just don't take the elevator

I was there back in 2023 and i wanted to say one of the best staff there was nurse Sam, she was a very bright light in the facility and did so much to make sure we were safe and healthy! Thanks nurse Sam :)

Porter stark mental health in valparaiso was very kind , Mason, dr. Verma , lou, nick , Steve, we'll the whole staff was super kind and understanding. Very professional and very good with group therapy sessions while I was there. It was a GOOOOD and therapitic stay

I made my main review at the Portage location if ya need advice on who to see. But wanted to shout out Micah the psychiatrist who works at this location. I’m a force to be reckon with to put it nicely but he passed the test most don’t for me. I came from having a psychiatrist who knew me for years to having to switch to Micah so I already wasn’t thrilled about it because I get the ick to easily from people. But he has been a breathe of fresh air honestly. He truly listens, not just listens to give a reply and answer, but he understands and comprehends it and that’s important. Especially a gem of a person after having to deal with me at an appointment when I’m in a manic episode cause if you know about those BPD manic episodes then you know how intense you can be. He may have had a lil fear in his eyes seeing me in that moment but he dealt with it with such care and understanding and respect even in the hardest moments. If you get lucky enough to have Micah as your psychiatrist, ask him about the large picture he has framed in his office, he’s got some pretty cool stories to tell that are guaranteed to make ya giggle.

The South Suburban Council is a miraculous treatment center with holistic staff available at the door. From entry into treatment, all the way to the end, you will have staff will real life experience that are compassionately there to help you and treat you with the upmost respect. The South Suburban Council has saved many lives. The South Suburban Council will accept you into treatment regardless of your ability to pay, and whether if you have insurance nor not!

I was there and was fortunate to get into and no rehab is perfect, but for me it was what I needed. Chris and Martin were great im my rehab and journey to recovery. I'm still in contact with them and others who are clean and sober

Mr.Whitfield was very helpful in helping me with my alcoholism and alcohol recovery.I was hesitant at first to accept I had an addiction and or a problem but his lessons helped me open up and own my responsibilities for my internal and external triggers.As I let his outlook and experience on addiction resinate class by class it made fighting addiction and recovering more manageable.i would recommend Mr.Whitfield and this program for anyone struggling with addiction in life.

this is one of the best place around. i have been sober now for 15 years. so if you need a place like this do it. its alot better than what you were. ive never had a relapse thank GOD for that and the staff was awesome. i used to cook in the kitchen at the 1st house jack king rest his soul hey put me in charge of the kitchen and it was a good time !

The guildhause saved my life. By the time I ended up on their doorstep I was literally looking death in the face. They gave me a new purpose and a whole new outlook on life. God willing I am coming up on 4 years sober and a year and a half away from getting my bachelor's degree to become a drug and alcohol counselor myself. And I owe it all to to this house. They saw something in me that I couldn't and for that I am forever grateful!!
