I have been receiving treatment at Brightside for a few months. I went into this treatment scared. I was desperate and called to see if they have room for a new patient. They got me in an hour later and immediately started helping me get started with treatment. Once I met everyone I knew I was in the right place. No need to feel intimidated, they’re here to help and they show it! Dr. Mary Jean has been amazing. She listens to what I have to say and gives honest feedback. I get anxious talking to doctors and sometimes feel like what I’m saying is wrong. I feel so comfortable sitting with Dr. Mary Jean and telling her everything I am feeling. I can see by the way that she informs me and listens to me that she cares. Leela and Catherine are amazing and you can tell they care as well. They have no idea how much better they make it walking into a doctor office. It’s like walking into a friends house. They always answer all my questions and always remind me to call if I need. If you’re struggling with opiate addiction, come here first, they take care of you.

My psychiatrist recommended Suncloud because I was going through a really tough time in my life. I was hesitant because I was at another treatment facility and didn't have a great experience. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to Suncloud because the staff were all so kind and genuinely cared about helping you. Their process groups can be tough but are so helpful in working through your trauma. It's been a year now since I started treatment and I can confidently say that I learned the skills and created an amazing support group that have helped me be in such a better place. Even after you're out of treatment, they have an awesome alumni group with plenty of opportunities to connect with others that have gone through similar things. I highly recommend Suncloud.

This place turned my life around although some people were there using it as a shelter what they were doing was none of my business at that time because the focus was on me. Some questions I have if anyone is kind enough to please answer them for me:
1. Can she bring in a vape pen? (Tobacco)
2. How do phone calls go?
3. How does visiting go? If I don’t have an ID, can I be denied entry?
4. Any helpful advice you have for me to help her adjust when she gets back home?
5. Any tips/ insider info you could give me to tell her to help her stay be more comfortable?!
6. What’s one thing you wish you brought to treatment but forgot? Anything you suggest to bring??
7. In terms of female counselors, is there one who stands out as the best?

I went to gateway rehabilitation and the food was good. But the best part of my experience was my counselor. Virginia Garcia was absolutely fabulous. She went above and beyond her duty for me. She made me feel at ease and answered all my questions. She is lovely and kind. Ty Virginia.

When I came to Symetria I was fairly depressed about my abuse of alcohol. The Staff at Symetria Recovery ( Deborah, Anna , Maria, Elsa , etc..) all treat their patients like family. They are all so Caring, Loving and Supportive. Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

Entered with a high level of apprehension, low expectations and uncertainty. My experience here exceeded my expectations. The group of individuals and the process help build a very stable foundation for me. The psi leadership group st all levels weee outstanding. While the results are yet to unfold I left a better person and a solid vision of the future my group associates many have continued the connection through our journey.

Been going to Family Guidance for awhile now and I absolutely recommend this methadone clinic to anyone struggling with opiate addiction. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try.

I was in Suncloud’s Residential, PHP, and IOP program for 5 months and it changed the course of my life. I really enjoyed the program here at Banyan Chicago. The staff here was very helpful with assisting me in my new recovery journey as well as my goals. Being at Banyan has been an absolutely transformative experience to say the least. My recovery journey from where I started before Banyan to where I am now after Banyan has been a complete 360, and I owe it to the staff and the knowledge that Banyan provided me. Amanda, Payton, Maggie, Alexis, and Mike are the best recovery counselors I've ever worked with before, and its been a privilege to work with and learn from such state of the art individuals. I'm actually heartbroken to be leaving this program, because their help has been so impactful. I look forward to going to Banyan Alumi meetings in the future, and I want to say a big thank you to all those who helped me along my journey to recovery.

I see a lot of negative reviews on here and my experience might have been different due to my age (late 30s). I wanted to be at TK. I didn't have someone make the decision for me, although my husband was very supportive.
Out of all the staff, there were only 2 I didn't like. Not that they were bad, just a clash with our personalities.
I have epilepsy, it's chronic and active. I had to go home to have surgery (a replacement battery for the device that helps control my seizures). I was gone for about 36 hours. The staff was great with my seizures and with my surgery.
I thought I was going to need to go back when my husband passed away, but I made it through. A lot of that I can credit TK with for giving me the tools to work with.
The only problem I really had was leaving. Leaving was terrifying because that safety net just vanished. That is one thing I think the staff needs to prepare you a bit better for.
I've been healthy since leaving. Sure, I still get the feelings/urges on occasion but I created my own safety net. I can control the urges. I'm actually rather proud of myself.
PS - If any of the former staff ever reads this "Meany Mo-Mo" you know who you are. Thank you, for all you did. Your patience, your help, and just being there when I needed it. You literally are the best. <3

If they took my insurance which covers everything, it would def be a better experience. However the choice between using and taking my medicine is clear to me and worth the money in the end. However it is a program that you have to work for yourself. No one can do it for you.

Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. You won’t. Working men and women this your clinic. Just no weed. Sorry.

I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!

I must say, during a time when a person is going through an awful situation and trying to get back to normal, it is important to know that there are still people out there who genuinely do the hard work to help others to get back on track. I've been here twice... Certainly the best 28 day program in the area. Two amazing counselors who educate residence on addiction and push and motivate them to be better. I am grateful to this place however ashamed that I relapsed again after two stays here. They certainly did there best... And do not take into account the bad reviews. If you've been to several programs and treatment centers around Chicago then you know HAS is one of the better ones.
HAS, Keep up the good work and thank Hose for giving me so many chances, you guys help those who want it. I hope I can visit on better terms someday!

I'm forever thankful to all the counselors and the cooks who took there time on showing love and helping me get out of that hell I was in..
