If it wasn't for parent care I would have never been able to get my kids back or be the better person that I am today! They helped me with better parenting skills but I was able to fight my addiction and I have been sober since July 1st 2021. Special shout out to Shawna my counselor and Jessica my therapist. Also thank you all the other counselors and teachers for your amazing support through one of the most difficult times of my life.

Great staff and invaluable lessons for recovery, relationships, personal development, self esteem and parenting classes. 👏 Been here twice, with a break in between, but so glad to come back and be welcomed with open arms and without judgment as a person, an addict and a first time mother going through the many challenges that come with that and other traumatic life events. Thanks so much! If you are in doubt, try it, if you want to improve your life perspective, try it, if you left and still want a helping community, try to come back and give it another shot. Best wishes to my sisters in motherhood and recovery.

Overall, Brightquest seems to have the potential to be a beautiful place if you make it one and if all those involved (parent, client, referrant, etc) fall under-- to each's own capacity-- a conjoined understanding of what enrolling into the facility truly entails before onboarding. Top of the Line professionals in terms of medical, psychiatric, directorial staff, and coordinators. In the San Diego office, administrative advision and onboarding facilitators seemed to be - at a minimum - understaffed, underprepared, rushed... disjointed, disoriented - retaining inconsistent speech and tonal behaviors. First day, as most everyone will tell you, is definitely whiplashy; so be prepared. Most, if not all therapists are pretty fantastic, though there's a healthy sprinkling that will likely benefit from more seasoning or better balance when it comes to working with the clientele that comes through the facility--especially considering the severity of what Brightquest's treatment plans offer. Resolution could see steps towards improvement with a simple forum on situational and environmental threats, could addtly. benefit from the inclusion of more proactive superiors. (aside from weekly staff meetings which seem to not be too productive, I really just believe there should be a massive overhaul/addition to supervising faculty, or an increase in physical foot traction of prior mentioned superiors, wherever they're holding these mystery figures. Yes, it is true from what I've read in other reviews that plenty key players are conveniently often on vacation. Website also needs an update.) I definitely think that clients should have a say in who they work with throughout their time in treatment, if afforded the luxury-- e.g. building or altering their own teams. The option of choice and communication does so much for clients in a space with inconsistent, often seemingly unclear boundaries and assistance. Also, on the DEI note, not very accommodating in terms of practicing religion. Last and certainly MOST important. If at this point you have any retainer hesitations-- great resources, work study programming, activities, group sessions, and residential function is a very intelligent, strategic layout. Each individual playing a hand in house management, whether that be house managers themselves, night staff, or especially nurse Theresa (who is working 24/7!) are diamonds in the rough of it all. At the end of a long day, throughout any level, at Brightquest (with the right treatment and mentality) you can fall on the network you've built for yourself within the community there. I truly do hope to see the team at BQ San Diego weed out some of the bad parts, as there is so much light and an outpouring of love and friendship in the work done there.

JOSE, PETE, MARIO AND NADIA along with every member of the staff is ABSOLUTELY UNDER PAID FOR THE CARE THEY PROVIDE, THEY NOT ONLY LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE (NO EXAGGERATION) BUT THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE FAMILY FOR THE SHORT TIME I WAS THERE, I OWE MY LIFE TO THE WHOLE ENTIRE STAFF, if it were not for paradise I know I wouldn't be alive, the words THANK YOU and GREATFUL do NOT suffice what that staff means to me and what they are worth, you have a TEAM OF NOTHING BUT ROCKSTARS THERE THAT GO ABOVE AND WAY BEYOND WHAT THEY NEED TO, THEY NEVER DO THE BARE MINIMUM TO GET BY BUT INSTEAD THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU MATTER, LIKE YOUR SOMEONE SPECIAL AND THAT IS PRICELESS, when your a recovering addic you already have no self-esteem, self respect or self worth but the staff helps you not only recover but they also help you get all the self worth, respect and esteem back as well, I could go on forever so I'll leave it with this, PARADISE ISN'T JUST A REHAB / DETOX FACILITY BUT ITS ALSO A PLACE THAT TREATS YOU LIKE YOU MATTER AND AS A ADDIC THAT MEANS EVERYTHING!!! THANK YOU PARADISE STAFF!!! I LOVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU

Very professional. Great location, very organized, therapist Kristin and psychiatrist Dr. Chou were great. Chef Fred was amazing, but they need to do a better job feeding the kids when Fred isn’t there, especially given what these places charge. It should be 1st class across the board. Not to spoil the kids, but it’s a stressful time for them in recovery, and their food options should be vast on the weekends. They worked with me to have flexible visitation because I was coming from out of state.

Our 16-year-old son attended Evolve Adolescent Behavioral Health at their Mount Helix location in La Mesa for approximately eight weeks to address substance use and other mental health challenges. From the very beginning, the communication from Evolve was outstanding. The entire team was consistently kind, compassionate, and truly seemed to have not just my son’s best interests in mind, but our whole family’s as well. Our family therapist, Emily Bell, was wonderful — supportive, insightful, and a real asset to the team. My son’s primary therapist, Mariah, was also fantastic and really connected with him. Both therapists were instrumental in helping our son make meaningful progress. Evolve offers a very structured program based on evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The program blends group therapy, individual therapy, and experiential activities such as surfing and equine therapy, which really helped keep the teens engaged. They also take the kids on outings into the community to practice the skills they are learning in real-world settings, which I thought was an incredible aspect of the program. While my son was initially very resistant to attending, he quickly found that he enjoyed the program and learned valuable skills he continues to use at home. The daily structure, along with the point system they use to encourage participation and good decision-making, really helped motivate him to stay engaged. One thing that stood out to me was how much Evolve involved us as parents throughout the process. Through weekly family therapy and regular updates, I always knew what my son was working on and felt like a true partner in his treatment journey. The only minor downside was some noticeable staff turnover during his stay, including a new educational consultant and changes in the nursing team. However, I can understand that working in this environment is extremely demanding, and it did not significantly impact the quality of care our son received. Overall, our experience with Evolve Mount Helix was extremely positive and truly life-changing for our son. I would highly recommend Evolve to any family seeking thoughtful, compassionate, and effective mental health treatment for their teenager.

My son recently spent 6 weeks at Evolve ,Mt. Helix. He received incredible care there. Alex, the nurse went above and beyond. She went out of her way to form a bond with my son! She kept in close contact with me when my son had to go the ER when he became ill . Taylor also took great care of my son as well. They both made my son feel safe and well taken care of! Kristin (his primary therapist) did an great job with both individual therapy and family therapy. My only real issue with the program was the food served at the facility. He was served high calorie /high fat takeout for a good portion of his stay as the chef was out. When I asked about it ,I was told by the clinical director that they were not required to follow any nutritional guidelines! I feel that part of the journey of getting well is nutrition. There should have been better arrangements when Fred (the chef ) had to be out. As a whole I feel the program was a great fit for my son as they use DBT along with other treatments modalities.

I didn’t expect to get much from this, I have done group before but API was different from my previous experiences. The knowledge that I had a group of people who cared outside of my usual support system was very helpful. The consistency of check ins from therapists and psychiatrists allowed for my medication to change based on my needs on a weekly basis. Overall, much more positive than I expected.

I want to take a moment to recognize an exceptional nurse, Alexandra Munoz, at Evolve, who has made a lasting impression on me. It’s clear that she is not just doing her job but is deeply committed to advocating for those in her care. Her ability to build meaningful connections with others is truly remarkable and inspiring. As someone who values compassionate and skilled care, I’m incredibly reassured knowing Alexandra is part of the team. She goes above and beyond, setting the standard for what nursing care should look like. As a fellow nurse, I see her as a role model and an inspiration. Her dedication, compassion, and professionalism remind me of the very best this profession has to offer. Evolve is incredibly fortunate to have such a positive and impactful nurse on their team!

My experience with Evolve was mixed. While the administrative process was chaotic & poorly managed by Margaret Gutgsell, the nurse, Alexandra Munoz, & the staff members, Kristen, Sasha, Emily, Taylor, Kaitlynn, & Meagan, were exceptional. I also want to point out that the therapy practices, outings, & coping mechanisms my loved one experienced & learned while at La Mesa made such a difference. He became a leader among his peers & has shown true growth & change since this experience. Alexandra went above & beyond, providing comfort & care to my loved one, making me feel at ease during a difficult time. However, the admission process was a nightmare, with no nurse or clinical director available when we arrived. Thank God, Alexandra took the time to call me & go over my concerns. Despite her being absent because Evolve couldn't wait until she was on site to admit him, she took the time to assess him virtually with her team & went over medication & care instructions that were vital to his post-op care until another nurse could arrive. It brought me peace of mind. Anytime I felt anxious I was reassured knowing she was taking care of him. Even when he got sick and went to urgent care, she kept me updated & made sure to tell the staff & urgent care to call me for instructions. She was the nurse but I was mom. She made me feel like my voice & my loved one mattered. The food situation was also troubling, with the La Mesa house lacking proper groceries. The discharge process was equally disorganized, with a lack of communication & coordination. His therapist went home sick. No one called me to reschedule the second of two family sessions to establish a home contract. Finally, the morning I picked him up we were able to do the second session with Kristen. Margaret should have handled the schedule & called me but she flaked & didn't follow through with his assessment meeting for his aftercare so that clinic had to reach out to finish it. It was a mess. Despite these issues, the dedication of staff members like Alexandra, Kristen, Sasha, Emily, Taylor, Kaitlynn, & Meagan and the positive impact they had on my loved one, are truly commendable. Alexandra's kindness & commitment made a significant difference, & my loved one now aspires to become an addiction counselor for teens. Evolve needs to address its administrative shortcomings, but the incredible efforts of its staff should not go unnoticed. Thank you, Alexandra, for your unwavering support & care. My loved one said that Emily got him out of his comfort zone & was someone he could talk to and super kind. He said that Taylor treated the clients like people not patients & was someone he could talk to. He said Kaitlynn cared about the clients & made sure they got the best. He said Meagan was real & also treated the clients like they were people not patients; & Alexandra made sure they got the best, made him laugh, and treated him like her own child. He said Indie was rude & made mean comments to another male client in the home with him. He said Simone was awkward, often speaking in a condescending tone to them or when they would tell her how another staff member handled something thank them for telling her how to do her job. He said Justin had an attitude towards clients & would make it a big deal if they had an issue or something they wanted. This appauled me. That child who Indie made mean comments to's parents trust Evolve. Do better. Seriously? If you can't show respect to clients find another career path. Margaret, Indie, Simone, & Justin need training. I am highly impressed with Alexandra, Emily, Taylor, Kaitlynn, & Meagan. I appreciate Brandon who stayed with my loved one at urgent care & made sure he got to call me & get some food, Dejah who was an appreciated sounding board while I voiced my frustration with Margaret dropping the ball with our therapy session & the assessment appointment for his aftercare, the therapists, Sasha & Kristen, Alejandrina who helped with his initial assessment, & Emily who helped me coordinate his aftercare.

Wow, where to start. When I first came to the program I was skeptical, like most, in thinking that I even had a problem or that my problem stemmed so deep into my childhood that I didn’t care to look at it anymore. Quickly through the programs open mindset and welcoming arms, and through the teachings of Ron and David, I realized that there were a lot of things I was overlooking for fear of dealing with them. I couldn’t have asked for a better recovery center to help me deal with my problems and show me what life is truly like on the sober side. Keep up the good work 🙏🏼🤙🏼

Expressing gratitude for Akua Mind and Body. I am going in 3yrs of sobriety and could not have found this path without the care I received at the Akua in-house treatment facility. Staff works hard to maintain a trustful and safe environment to learn and work on deep rooted issues that come with addictive behaviors. From my counselor Javier’s one liners always telling me, “take those small wins Dave” to my therapist coming up with a game plan to address issues wether there from your childhood or more recent. Huge shout out to Chef Becca that is a 1 women army and plays a huge role in nourishing in-house residents back to health and clear thinking with her delicious food. Would love to make a guest appearance as your sous chef any day Becca (if you see this🙏🏽). The road to sustainable recovery doesn’t stop when you coin out as a resident. Akua’s after care program aka “Akua Alumni” has played a pivotal role in my continued sobriety. The Thursday Akua Alumni 12 step meeting provides a home group meeting for me where I know I can listen, be heard or just because I’m broke and want free food cooked by chef Becca🤣. But seriously I’ve been through a lot of “changing of the guards” in terms of leadership for the alumni program. I love and appreciate everyone that has blessed us with their time, care and love (you know who you are) but today I can say that the culture and vibe with in-house peeps and alumni peeps is the strongest that I’ve seen. Big Thanks to Kersey for being an amazing coordinator that hired on during what I would call a rough patch. She has assembled and empowered key players (you know who you are) that have filled a void and a much needed heart beat to keep our meetings and activities fun, interesting and cost friendly if not free to our diverse Akua family. When I was looking for IOP drug rehabs San Diego, HGR always seemed to be coming up. After carefully examining their addiction treatment centers website, I decided to give them a call. I was surprised that their CEO answered the phone. Nora Jenkins carefully answered all my questions on how their intensive outpatient program worked. I didn't realize that I needed to go through alcohol detoxification first. Their alcohol detox centers San Diego option accepts most health insurances and they accepted mine which was AETNA, This outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation program allowed me to continue working and get the help I needed. I have been alcohol and drug free for 67 days thank to HGR Drug rehabs San Diego. Thank you, Nora and your caring staff.

This alcohol detox San Diego substance abuse rehabilitation center saved my life. It was unlike the other California drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers that I attended prior. Their medical doctors provided me with a detailed treatment plan. This plan started at their alcohol detox centers San Diego then put me into their inpatient drug rehabs San Diego program. This is where their treatment process differed. They performed a dual diagnosis. This got to the root of my addiction. I had several co-occurring disorders that were left untreated by other addiction treatment centers. While in the residential inpatient program I had one on one meetings with their credentialed substance abuse counselors. These sessions were difficult but helped me address my addiction problems head on. I have been clean for 6 months and finally am getting my life back. Thank you, Harmony Grove Recovery.

Harmony Grove Recovery is the best alcohol rehab in San Diego hands down. Their alcohol detox San Diego program is medically supervised. They gave me medication assisted treatment that not only reduced the painful withdrawal that I usually experience, but they almost eliminated it. They were my first choice because I saw that they accepted most health insurances. The alcohol detox lasted 8 days. After completing that, I went to their residential inpatient drug rehabs San Diego program. I highly recommend this California drug and alcohol addiction treatment center.

Casa Palmera, in Del Mar, California, is a luxury, 12 ste-ofucsed drug and alcohol rehab for adults offering medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis care, and inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), sober living, and aftercare programming. Dedicated services are available for young adults, e
I spent six weeks at Casa Palmera just recently. The whole staff was attentive to my needs no matter what hour of the day it was. I had an opportunity to get to the bottom of some of my personal issues and I learned a lot from other patients during group sessions. Everyone there seemed to have a lot more in common than was said and our connections we were making at the time I was there strengthened recovery. Casa Palmera was responsive to my inquiries and needs. I was inspired by the way their team creatively boosted group engagement. The handling of contraband became a personal hassle I experienced, but every time I needed something from my contraband, the staff handled it professionally and mindfully. I am a tech savvy individual myself so I communicated that to staff and an arrangement was met to help accommodate that part of who I am. Things like that made me feel great about being there. I really enjoyed the outing I went on to play kickball and drive alongside the beach. Holy smokes, I didn't think it was possible to come out of that six weeks with a new perspective on recovery, but it happened and I'm feeling much more motivated to continue. This felt like the acceleration I needed to have in my recovery to stay on the rails. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals there and have no complaints on that whatsoever. Coffee was always out when it was scheduled to be too. Casa Palmera hit the ball out of the park the whole six weeks I was there and I'm pretty sure they will continue to do so. I have every confidence that the next patient going into their care will have a positive experience that they can recall on for a lifetime. The whole staff are all great at what they do and love what they do, which is very important to me. I could also see that the whole staff holds themselves to a high standard and high level of discipline, which is what I want to continue to do for myself and family. My mood swings were taken seriously and cared for appropriately. My medication was quickly adjusted to ensure that I was keeping on the right track as well. This made for a smooth transition back to my primary psych with Casa Palmera's updates to my medication. The 24/7 approach to treatment enabled me to make up for lost time and I would go back again in a heartbeat if need be. I highly recommend Casa Palmera to anyone that needs to be at a treatment center, no matter what stage of recovery you're in. Many thanks, Jacob L.

TLDR: Avoid at all costs. Promised mental health care was completely absent during my 48-hour stay, marked by negligence and unprofessionalism. Initial Expectations: I sought help for panic attacks, agoraphobia, and generalized anxiety disorder. The intake process seemed promising, with assurances of regular therapy, meals, experienced staff, and a structured schedule. Unfortunately, these promises were unmet. Arrival: Contrary to promises, no psychiatrist or case manager welcomed me. Instead, I faced disorganization and a triggering environment reeking of tobacco smoke. Staff and Environment: The staff, termed "techs," lacked medical training and were primarily tasked with basic monitoring and meal preparation. The promised group therapy sessions never happened. The staff's unprofessional behavior included constant phone use, internal conflicts, derogatory remarks about residents, and ignorance about conditions like agoraphobia. Location and Living Conditions: The Sabina location was substandard. The house was dirty, with inadequate facilities like threadbare towels, limited hot water, and pervasive smoke odor. The only entertainment was a TV with limited access, and the house was under constant surveillance, except in private areas. Resident Demographics: The residents were primarily state-ordered ex-convicts, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere. The lack of activities and social engagement left me feeling isolated and anxious. Food: Despite promises of three daily meals, food availability was scarce, and staff reluctance in meal preparation was evident. The lack of basic kitchenware further complicated matters. Therapy: I did not meet my assigned therapist. An encounter with another therapist, albeit helpful, revealed that the promised frequency of therapy sessions was overstated. Sleep Quality: Frequent checks by staff using flashlights disrupted sleep, compounded by uncomfortable bedding and unclean rooms. Conclusion: My experience at Socal Sunrise was distressingly far from what was promised. The facility's approach to mental health care was severely lacking, characterized by an unprofessional staff, poor living conditions, and a complete disregard for client wellbeing. I strongly advise against this facility based on my experience.

I was referred to Revive from Grossmont Medical to obtain continuity of care due to our rapid, out of state return to California. Traci, my provider was thorough and interested in taking a complete history. The patient navigator helped me with the paperwork and was welcoming and professional. The medical assistants were great--I shrunk 1/4 of an inch and have to lose ten pounds! The front desk manager had the whole process down and made it look easy. Which it is not. I go back in a week and am very grateful for the care and consideration I received.

Hello, my name is James Biggs. I’m a 34-year-old white and Cherokee male, and I’ve faced significant mental health challenges sonce i was a kid and they still grestly affect me to this day. It took me a long time to get to a place of healing, and Aurora Behavioral Health truly changed my life. I have struggled with mental health issues my entire life and after going through two sexual assaults which were both committed by demons who manifested in human form while I was homeless. I didnt know these beings who assaulted were both demons until the second sexual assault happened and while this evil Jewish demon told me his name who after the sexual assault Happened I was beginning to get a strange feeling as if something worse .ifht happen now cuz this demonic entity had a gun in his back pack and I was scarred for mu my life. I began to pray to God for help and protection and right after that this demon ran like a bat out of hell like a scarred animal. Afterwards I has lost some trust in men after a traumatic experience. Dr. Anem was the first male psychiatrist whom I felt I could trust, and his empathy and care made a huge difference. And to honest I have been institutionalized in mental hospitals over 30 times in my life and hands down Dr. Anem is the best psychiatrist that treated me in a hospital setting. It's hard to believe that he is only a little older than me and he has already he has such a great practicing physiscian. And one final thing for the first time in a mental hospital I actually enjoyed every group that they had and I even learned some new things. But my favorite group of all was music therapy lead by thos cool cst named Tom. He actually brought a grip of instruments and all the patients that time joined in for one big hospital jam sesh. I had know idea that tom would be able to que each of us in at the perfect time to stay in harmony. Oh and the food there was practically bomb.com I also want to give special thanks to Paula, Sep, Virginia, Mira, Andy, Keno, Nicole, Larry, Casey, Ben, Drew, Cassie, Raymond, Sam, Yvette, Jessica, and a special shout-out to Victoria 🦋 whom one day I believe will evolve from her current position as a bhs and i think she will become the greatest nurse San Diego has ever seen! The entire team, including the cafeteria crew, made my stay comfortable and safe. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And there's no way I could ever forget some real G's that seemed to always hold it down no matter what chaoticcraziness occurs when one of us reaches boiling point and snaps. I would definitely recommend aurora mental health to any one who is struggling with a mental health crisis like I was. And overall i would have to give it two thumbs up no doubt!👍 👍 one last thing I was able to create a beautiful artwork masterpiece so I will add it to the review. I would most definitley say thst my 14 day stay this last time at aurora behavidefinitely made a positive impact on my life and I hope I never forget all the love I felt there by all of the staff members and other patients there whom some which have become new friends. And after all the moments of crisis which became the reasons which lead to me becoming admitted there. Now im AURORA 4 LYFE 👽
