Before I came to Oceans my life was looking extremely bleak and hopeless. I did not feel there was another way of life left for me to try. Then I made a few phone calls and I spoke to admissions there. They made me feel comfortable about changing my life. This has been one of the most transformative 30 days I’ve ever experienced. I will forever be grateful for the staff, program and a new outlook on my future. Thank you.

When I started at Oceans, I was lost and depleted spiritual, mentally, and emotionally. Oceans gave me a foundation to rebuild my life, learn to trust and create a strong community with sober women, and find out who I am and all the wonderful things that I am truly capable of. I am so grateful for this program and the opportunities that I have had since going there. It’s not always easy but it’s real and these women really want to help you. I have one year sober thanks to this program.

Unfortunately this has not been my first experience at a residential treatment facility. That being said I was impressed by both the staff and the comprehensive program provided. The vast majority of staff exceeded my expectations, from therapists to case management to the nutritionist and medical staff .Maybe most importantly the technicians who were available anytime you needed 24 hours per day and treated you with care and respect. I'm embarrassed to say I had been to a few treatment centers before I was fortunate to be placed at Nsight, although I know that's true for many people who struggle with their mental health and addiction. If you experienced trauma during childhood or at any point in your life and it affects your mental health, or you're not even sure if it does but you struggle with addiction, Nsight is the place for you. There is no other treatment center like it. Their program, groups, counselors and housing are one of a kind. The environment is kept professional unlike many other facilities. The counselors are actually educated and experienced as well as empathetic and relationship based. Nsight is so different in so many ways from other treatment centers. Nsight saved and forever changed my life. It is through Nsight that I found myself. I graduated and walked out of their program a literally completely different and better person. I went home and my mom cried and said she had no idea this is who I am and that I am actually such a beautiful, kind and fun person. After struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and other diagnosis that were inaccurate. I owe my life today to Nsight, their program and their counselors. I cannot recommend this program enough. If you're on the fence between choosing Nsight and another place - choose Nsight. You won't regret it.

When I entered PACE Recovery Center, I was very sick. I had been to many treatment centers to help with my addiction and mental health and nothing worked and I was beginning to lose hope. PACE returned that hope to my family and I. The facilities are clean, well kept, and are amazingly, I lived 4 blocks from the beach. The highlight of my recovery journey was the highly educated, knowledgable and caring staff employed by PACE. In contrast to other facilities I've attended, the staff at PACE want to be there, and want to help you. When I struggled, they were there for me, regardless of the time. I spent many nights on the phone with my incredible case manager, Chris Mortazavi, as well as the client advocate, Drew DelGaudio. Both of those individuals helped save my life, and the relationship I was able to form with them was well beyond anything advertised or expected from the facility.
To summarize, PACE is an incredible program staffed by incredible men and women who will support you in this difficult stage of your life. I couldn't recommend it enough, and the changes PACE assisted me in have saved my life.
A special thanks to all the staff I had the privilege of working with, specifically:
Bowen Rizk, Brian Greenwald, Chris Mortazavi, Drew DelGaudio, Rita Yacoub, and Bryan Johnson. The list of people at PACE who positively impacted my life is much longer than this, these individuals are just a few who were especially involved in my treatment and recovery.
I am leaving PACE with ambition, hope, and gratitude for my life.

I had the privilege of attending the Wellness Coordinator Class in North Las Vegas from May 5th to 9th, and it was truly phenomenal. As the Peer Support Coordinator for a Police Department, I only wish this class had been available when I first stepped into this role four years ago.
The Counseling Team delivered an incredible program filled with invaluable insights and actionable strategies. They provided a comprehensive blueprint for building or enhancing a wellness program that truly works—something every agency needs. In fact, this class should be mandatory for all First Responder Agencies developing a wellness program.
The three instructors were not only knowledgeable but also deeply passionate about the subject matter. Their engagement, authenticity, and commitment to our success were evident in every session.
We all walked away with an abundance of tools, ideas, and renewed purpose. I'm incredibly grateful for the guidance and support we received throughout the week.
We also had the pleasure of working with First Responder Wellness as a resource when we had staff in need of their services. Their Admissions and Outreach team are incredible. Newport Beach, California | Embark Behavioral Health – Newport Beach, located in Newport Beach, California is a private alcohol and drug rehab that offers treatment for a variety of substance abuse addictions including co-occurring mental health disorders. At Embark Behavioral Health – Newport Beach additional levels of care offered include partial hospitalization. Specia | Treatments Programs | I am a mother of two and both my children attended the Jumpstart IOP program at Embark Newport Beach. I was referred to this facility after having been through another IOP program with a different company. And for the first time ever a therapist, Embark's Katheena Thirtle was able to get through to my older child. Not only that - the entire team embraced my daughter, she was shown compassion, empathy, and patience. She felt comfortable enough to open up, to allow herself to be seen.
The impact was even more pronounced on my younger child - she loved being there from the first day, looked forward to going in. She felt safe, was very communicative, learned self regulation skills.
I also loved having the weekly debriefs on the children, hearing what professionals with so much relevant experience thought about my complex case. Dr. Rehmani, the psychiatrist on staff, spent the time to listen and provide his thoughts on progress, or lack thereof. I also appreciated the parent-children events, they presented me with a different perspective on my child, and allowed us to know each other more.
I wholeheartedly recommend their Jumpstart IOP program and I would not hesitate to return there again. Their facility is beautiful, luminous, a healing place. The art is comforting , being there brought back hope.

Embark has been the most transformative experience for our entire family. Mental health is so complex, especially for young kids in this new generation. The staff at Embark helped us all understand one another at the deepest level, creating a sense of safety our family has never felt before, which allowed us to navigate the trauma alongside our child. The variety of therapies focused on our child independently as well as the family as a whole.
If I could erase the pain/experiences my child dealt with, I absolutely would, but if ever in a situation like this again, Embark would be the place we’d go. This place traumatized me.
I was initially at an ER for medication management, where I voluntarily chose to be moved to a mental hospital. I was told the facility would be roughly 1–2 hours away it ended up being 4 hours. As soon as I had access to a phone, I called my spouse. We talked about how far I had been sent and how difficult it would be for him to visit. He did some research and found several facilities much closer to home that had open beds before I was placed. I was never given a choice.
Once admitted, basic respect and dignity were lacking. We had to ask for every essential item tampons, pads, towels, toothpaste and staff often acted like we were a nuisance just for asking. Their attitudes were rude, short, and dismissive, even when it came to medical questions or basic support.
The psychiatrist (Alikhan, Mir) assigned to me spent just 2–5 minutes with me, usually standing in my room, often walking away mid-conversation. Nurses admitted he was only on-site for about an hour each day despite the facility having over a dozen sections. I wasn’t included in decisions about my care or medications and was expected to just accept whatever was decided without question.
The most distressing part: I agreed multiple times to take a calming pill, but staff still forced an injection on me. I was surrounded by several staff members, held down, had my pants pulled down, and was injected against my will while I cried and begged them not to. I’ve experienced trauma in my life, and what they did was deeply violating and dehumanizing. No compassion. No consent. Just force.
Later that day, I was given so many sedatives (pill, dissolvable, and injection) in such a short period that I collapsed sideways onto my hip and needed an X-ray. I was never warned that this could happen, and I’m still in pain.
I came here for support and stability. I left more shaken, hurt, and mentally exhausted than when I arrived. If you’re looking for compassionate or trauma-informed care, this is not the place to find it.

Every person who works there truly cares about you as a person and how they can best help you in your journey. I felt heard and cared for. My case worker Jeri is top notch. Helpful, knowledgeable and most of all loving. There are too many techs to mention by name but each one was on par. The groups led by the facilitators were so helpful. Each facilitator brought a different style. Ken and his love for the big book, Kelly and her love of teaching us through art and inner peace, Chad and his ability to tell a story or set up a learning environment that draws you in intellectually. Tony is exceptional in just chopping it up, but always ensuring we left with a valuable tool. Otis and his ability to understand everyone in the room even given our vast age differences. Gerald and his desire to keep us involved in after care. My house manager Monica for truly listening to each housemates concerns, and I cannot forget my therapist Christina for all the insight she gave me into why I am they way I am. And last but not least the drivers. They each had a way of just listening to our chatter and somehow still teaching us skills and showing us care. I could go on all day! Love you Windward!
