About Alamo City Education Services, Inc.

Alamo City Education is, as the name implies, focused on the education side of substance use disorder. Specifically, they operate multiple DWI education classes online. These classes aren’t covered by insurance and instead require a small fee to attend.

The classes are sometimes required as part of a conviction or sentencing deferment. However, you can attend them voluntarily too. Multiple DWI education classes are conducted over Zoom and last three consecutive days.

Other services are also available from this provider. Bilingual support is provided for some programs.

DWI Intervention

This is a more intensive course for repeat offenders that meets twice a week for five weeks. It offers a deep exploration of the consequences of substance abuse and DWI specifically, dispelling myths and

misunderstandings about substance use at the same time. It may also look at the triggers of substance abuse and discuss linked behaviors, setting the stage for ongoing treatment elsewhere.

Online Evaluations

Something I find interesting about this group is that all these services are online, including evaluations. You may find that a telehealth SUD evaluation fits better into your schedule and is more accessible in general since there’s no need for you to travel to an office or clinic.

An Abundance of Resources

The education offered here extends far beyond the classes offered. The organization has compiled relevant resources about SUD treatment, local laws and even lists of other programs that anyone can view, regardless of their enrollment status. You can, at the very least, use these resources to gain a better understanding of what your options are for recovery.

I have still not received my certification of competition for the DOEP class I took over a month and a half ago. I’ve been trying to call for weeks and the lines keep ringing. I’ve emailed the email they have listed and have gotten no response. I’ve emailed the director and gotten no response. I’ve showed up to the physical location and nobody was there. I’m extremely frustrated by the experience I’ve had with this company. If you have to take any of the classes they offer, then I’d highly recommend trying elsewhere.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.
