About Lake Region Hospital

Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls Minnesota offers a program to help patients overcome opioid use disorder. You’ll be given a specific treatment plan that was created by your unique needs. In addition to your treatment, you will receive resources that are vital for long-term sobriety. Accepting various forms of payment, Lake Region wants all individuals to have the opportunity to get clean no matter what financial situation you are in.

Specialized Treatment for Opioid Addiction

Once you arrive at Lake Region your treatment will begin with an initial assessment in order to develop a treatment plan. Once that’s completed, your treatment will likely begin with medication assisted treatment using Suboxone which will help prevent your cravings and can reduce some withdrawal symptoms. It also blocks the effects of opioid use.

You will have regular follow-up appointments so they can monitor your progress and adjust any medications if needed. In addition to the medications used you will have access to mental health counseling, social services and other resources to help you address the impacts of your addiction. Over a period of time the dosage of Suboxone will be gradually reduced and hopefully stopped entirely when you no longer need it.

Beyond Medication: Additional Resources for Recovery

The goal at Lake Region Healthcare is to eventually stabilize your opioid disorder while providing therapy sessions so you can understand your addiction. Ongoing resources for access to mental health counseling and substance abuse support helps patience feel stronger and more equipped when returning back to their daily lives. You will be encouraged to build a support system that can help you develop coping strategies to make recovery less overwhelming.

There are 3 doctors in this hospital that I trust Schnurer, Borowski, and Johnson. They are the only reason why I will continue to go there but getting rid of Norgard was the worst mistake this hospital could have made. Especially over some ridiculous wanna be gyn family practice doc whom not a single person I know would trust with a cough, let alone their pregnancy. He saved my baby s life and mine by a stat section. To say he calls sections inappropriately is asinine. He cares about his patients and has always put them first. I worked with the man and doctored with him and I travel over an hour to continue to see him. As do several other women. He s the best doctor I ve ever had, or worked with. And everybody knows this. Which is why the ob patients are dwindling. I will never utilize that woman that this ridiculous place replaced him with. I hope the power s that be recognize their screw up, but obviously with the financial troubles that they put the hospital in, they will probably just blame everyone else. Because that s what terrible people do. I don t normally leave reviews, but I m horrified by the treatment of a beloved doctor who gave his everything to a place who threw him away like a piece of trash.

Billing department is an absolute joke. Personal information shouldn't be leaving the place. Went out to eat and saw a gal who works in billing and heard her talking about a patient. Very unprofessional.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is because the doctor I had was genuinely funny. The facility itself is nice, but unfortunately, the staff needs improvement across the board—from the billing department to the doctors. I shouldn’t have to wake up from anesthesia and immediately point out that my compound fractured leg is being set incorrectly. If I were in a life-threatening situation, I would still request to be transferred to Fargo.

Last two times I ve been here, I ve had to wait 45+ minutes. Left the first time it happened and almost left today. They do NOT prioritize your time whatsoever. My appointment was at 2 and I wasn t seen until 2:45. I get some leeway but maybe don t schedule appointments at a certain time if one can not adhere to said schedule? If patients are late we can t be seen, but doctors can do whatever they please? Make it make sense!

Response from the owner1 year ago
Emma, we are sorry to hear you had these long wait times your last two appointments. Would you be willing to call our patient relations line to share some more detail so we can improve our processes and as you said, try to make it make sense? If so, please call 218.736.8027.
